Name: Illithid C’tluynasn (Last name pronounced Ka-Tulu-Yinazan)
Illithid’s real name is unpronounceable in any human language and as such he was forced to find a similar name using human speech patterns
Occupation: Apprentice Planeswalker/Psionic
Nationality: V’shraneez, this is the closest possible pronunciation of the name of his race in human tongue. It roughly translates, in English, to Mindflayers.
Height: 7’ 4” (The V’shraneez are unusually tall beings)
Weight: 189 lbs
Age: Unknown, estimated at 140 Earth years (The V’shraneez, being from a different plane of existence, measure time in a completely different manner than is done on the Terran Plane)
Hair Color: Illithid has no hair
Eye Color: Completely black and pupil-less
Appearance:
Normal clothing
Battle Armor
Personality: Illithid’s personality could only be described as inhuman. He views the world as a giant experiment all of which he is overseeing. Being a Planeswalker he visits many different worlds and realms and each one he treats like a separate experiment. Illithid has no respect for humans, being an upper-ranking member of the V’shraneez Empire’s High Council. Illithid treats humans with disdain and as if they are only mice to be experimented on so that his thirst for knowledge may be quenched.
History: Illithid's life began the way most of his race began. His tiny beak broke its way through the soft fleshy covering of his egg sac. There was a wet slopping sound as the Cerephod, a baby V'shraneez, landed in the pool of the egg sac that had spawned him. He was essentially nothing more than a small head with four tentacles and a beak. A pair of hands grabbed him roughly and picked him up moving him to a dingy lab-area where a body struggled against the chains that held it down to the examining table. In order for Cerephods to mature they must go through a process called Ceremorphosis, in which they bond to a host body and then take over. The body mutates into a proper V'shraneez body and the Cerephods personality and mind become dominant.
However, Illithid's Ceremorphosis was not to be the typical. Instead of being bonded to a slave species, like most Cerephods were, Illithid was chosen as part of an experiment to see what would happen if a Cerephod was bonded to an already mature V'shraneez. The result was an incredibly psionically potent V'shraneez. Even in a race full of psionics, Illithid was a cut above the rest. His prowess in psionics allowed him to explore other areas of supernatural abilities. His high level of psionic prowess allowed him to essentially transcend the normality of being a V'shraneez psionic. He was actually able to open rifts in time and space with his abilities. He had become a planeswalker, a being with the ability to travel the different realms and planes of existence. This talent allowed him a seat on the High Council that answered only to the Elder Brain, the leader of the V'shraneez Empire. Illithid's life went exceedingly well for a time.
However the V'shraneez are a very xenophobic people. They see all other races as inferior to their kind and only suitable as slaves and host bodies for their young. They are xenophobic to the point of exterminating any Cerephod that deviates from the normal V'shraneez appearance and abilities. Illithid was tolerated for a time because of his normal appearance, but his added abilities made the others of the Council wary about him. They feared he would attempt to abuse his power and usurp the Elder Brain, seizing control of the entire Empire. As a pre-emptive against any such coup they banished him from their realm, the plane of Eredor.
Illithid was fiercely patriotic to his kind and loyal only to the Elder Brain. He was confused as to why the High Council had chosen to exile him. But he agreed with their decision, he was different; he presented a danger to the V'shraneez way of life and the stability of the Empire. With a heavy heart of regret he opened a rift and plunged in. He had no idea where this planar rift would lead him. It was a tumultuous trip, far different from the ones he took when experimenting with his abilities.
Illithid had only ever traveled to nearby realms. He had never attempted to walk to a plane further than three or four realms from his own. However he was only thinking of removing himself as far as he could from the plane of Eredor when he opened the rift that would take him away in order to carry out his sentence of banishment. Illithid awoke, running his hand against his gray, clammy head. He stood up and looked around; he was surrounded by a sea of green stalk-like organisms. Little did Illithid know, he had traveled to the plane of Terra, the realm in which Earth exists.
His arrival was picked up by the Academy. It would be hard to miss such a massive psionic build-up, what was strange was how suddenly it had vanished. They sent a team of Tracers to the scene to find out what had happened. They were greeted by a bewildered but intelligent looking bipedal squid-like creature. Illithid reached out to their minds and attempted to communicate with them telepathically. They heard his voice in their language, but it was strange. His voice was utterly devoid of tone or emotion; he paused at odd moments, and strangely placed emphasis on the wrong parts of words. They took him to the Academy to allow him to interact with more humans and see exactly who or what he was.
Style
Illithid uses a very advanced form of Psionics. Unlike psychic abilities in humans, it is not at all rare for the V’shraneez to have psionic abilities. In fact it is uncommon for a V’shraneez to not have psionic abilities. However most V’shraneez psionic abilities deal with mental control and making psychic slaves of other creatures. The V’shraneez are an incredibly psychically potent people. Illithid is one of the more experienced Psionics in the Empire as he has a seat on the High Council that rules over the Empire.
Strengths: Illithid is a powerful psionic. He is very intelligent and is able to think without being limited by things such as human morality. Also he has at his disposal rather advanced technology due to the advanced intelligence of the V’shraneez. His most notable piece of technology is his battle armor.
Weaknesses: Illithid relies heavily on his psionic abilities. He is rather physically weak and is poorly trained in the arts of hand-to-hand combat. Also, due to his focusing more on his psionic abilities, he tends to neglect his body and as such cannot take much physical damage.
Spell List:
Mind Blast: Illithid sends a blast of psionic energy straight into the mind of his enemy. This will usually result in confusion and the enemy being dazed or in more extreme cases instant unconsciousness.
Object Manipulation: More commonly known as Telekinesis to human psychics, Illithid uses his psionic abilities to levitate and move objects with his mind.
Psi-Blade: Only usable in his battle-suit, a series of compression tubes allows Illithid to focus his psychic energy into a blade which cuts as well as any physical metal blade. Illithid can also control the size and shape of the blade.
Shield: Illithid manifests his psionic energy into a physical shield. He can project the shield over the entirety of his body or shrink it down and limit it to only specific areas of his body.
Psionic Blast: Illithid manifests his psionic energy into a physical form, much like his Shield ability. However instead of using it to protect himself he projects it at an enemy to cause physical damage.
Levitate: Similar to his Object Manipulation ability, Illithid uses his psionic abilities to levitate himself or a companion if need be. In time with practice, Illithid will be able to actually grant himself flight.
Rift: Illithid can use his Planeswalking to open a small hole in space and time and travel extremely quickly to a desired location. It is very similar to teleporting except Illithid actually temporarily removes himself from the Terran plane and then re-inserts himself where he wants to be. However he cannot do this over long distances as his power is limited to smaller travel distances.
Telepathy: Being a psionic Illithid is gifted with the ability to communicate via telepathy. As of now it is his primary method of communication, as he considers any human tongue far too barbaric to try and speak. He is also able to broadcast his telepathy on a wide-scale so that as many people as he wants to can hear it, as long as they
Remote Viewing: Illithid focuses his mental energies into his mind’s eye and uses it to project his sight a great distance away. As long as he has an idea of the area he wants to view he can view it in his mind’s eye.
Summon Fel-Beast: Illithid summons a creature from his plane to his side, a Fel-Beast. Unlike a normal summon, Illithid is not actually using magic to bring the Fel-Beast into existence he is actually just using his planeswalking abilities to transport the creature from his plane to this one.

Fel-Beast
History: The Fel-Beasts are essentially the wolves of the plane of Eredor. They are extremely vicious and strong. They were among the first creatures the V'shraneez brought into enslavement when their Empire was in its early stages. They served well as scouts and attack units. They were also incredibly dull and only required minimal mental prodding to turn them into the slaves of the V'shraneez. Illithid enjoys using the creatures because they are a good counter-balance to his own abilities. He is more long-range and spell-based whereas the Fel-Beasts are excellent close-quarters fighters.
Spell/Abilities List
Gorge: A Fel-Beast can heal it's wounds by feasting on the remains one of it's kind
Inferno: A Fel-Beast is capable of firing a stream of fire from the stalks on it's back
Gore: They are able to actually fire the horns on either of their head at an opponent. A new set grows in place of the old pair after one set is fired.
