Eldran smiled and bowed towards Ziare with uncharacteristic grace. "Why, thank you, Ziare. It was the least I could do."
Eldran sat down again after shaking Joseph's hand. "Well, I suppose I can offer you all an explanation as to why you're here."
He grinned and smiled in earnest, his old self once again. "Joseph, I know you from the battle, and this pertains to that."
He turned to Ziare. "You were right, I did have a talent, and a bit of mana to show for it and it's going to be something of a shocker."
He paused and breathed and gave a lopsided grin before continuing. "To the best of the library's knowledge and the internet, I'm the only known magic user who can control time and space in existence."

Joseph shifted in his seat, uneasy a moment. A confused expression crossed his face as he regarded their host. Was that it? No, of course there was more. "I don't mean to be rude, Eldran, I mean that is fascinating, but...what does that have to do with us?" the gunmage asked, his mind now becoming more preoccupied with curiosity. There would be plenty of time to spend with Talbot tonight, it's like she's a girl who's early to bed anyway. Eldran must have something interesting in mind if he wanted a private meeting such as this concerning his powers.

Completely bypassing Joseph's seat hlding, Talbot pulled her own chair out and sat slowly down, slightly miffed at the fact she was completely ignored by the once clumsy Eldran was slightly getting on her nerves. And more often than not if something was bothering her- too late here came the words- "It's one thing to still flirt with a taken girl, another to give us an airy 'better than anyone' anttitude- sure. Fine- keep going, but ignoring someone when they compliment you is something else entirely."
Then as if she hadn't said anything at all, she put her hands on her heels on her palms and smiled slightly as Jospeh questioned about the purpose of telling them about a proposition in the first place.

Eldran nodded his head at Joseph's question and grinned wryly and bowed. "You're here, because Talbot is with you, so like it or not, you're now involved. "
He turned to all of them. "I need you all to do a favor and keep an eye out for me. You know who seeks immortality. If any of you can warn me somewhat of a threat, it would be of great help."
He smiled. "Why, do you ask, with all this wealth, not turn massive resources onto it? Because I'm not a politician and not a spymaster. All I'm asking is for you guys to keep your ears open, if you would, if not, then don't mind me at all."

She stood up, her gray gray eyes dancing brightly, "Maybe I'm not understanding this completly so correct me if I am wrong, Little Rich Boy. You invite us to your birthday, flaunt your riches, greet us with an air of superiority, flirt with my sister, ignore me, tell my date he basically worthless AND EXPECT US TO BE YOUR CRONIES?"
She growled softly, not giving a real pause, "I have plenty of patience for people but you're ENTIRE approach to this is unacceptable. You would think simply asking without all this glamor, glitz and glitter would be enough- but you, Little Boy, have gone way overboard!"
She walked towards Eldran, one fist balled tightly but with no intent to harm, she narrowed her eyes, standing over him as she opened her palm, casting, "Pressure," as she continued, holding the spell on him and only him, adding emphasis on her words, "You, LITTLE BOY, may want to rethink your way of going about things like this- yes?"

Joseph sat in shock at Talbot's outburst. It was like a dream. Had she really just gotten up and cast a spell on their host? For a moment there it had looked as though she was ready to punch him. The gunmage found himself forcfully stifling a laugh. He could picture her doing that quite easily. In truth he'd probably have prefered it, since now...
"Talbot," he began standing up from his chair, "It's quite alright." He strolled over to his date and placed a hand on her shoulder. He had to eb very careful what he said next, otherwise he'd be likely to recieve her wrath as well, regardless if she knew he was just trying to ease her mind. She was mentally on the offense at the moment so that might be the best way to appeal to her. Joseph smiled giving her shoulder a light squeeze, "Not everyone understands the full weight of the words they choose. If you like we can leave, but may I ask you release our host."

"Talbot he's not asking us to be his little puppets or anything of the sirt. He's asking us for a favor. one I think I can he;p with. He didn't say to go out of our way to do this. Just keep our eyes and ears open." Jyo said calmly. Instead of interjecting he had been sitting there listening. Now he spoke.
"Now when you look at it the way it really is. Is that so bad?" He asked.

Talbot growled softly, she wanted her point to get across and it would by the Gods! The pressure on Eldran grew, the chair legs creaked softly at the force. She didn't take her eyes from Eldran but she did shrug Joseph's arm off- it was ill advised to touch her when she was like this and the casting of Ribbon Cut would emphasize the point to anyone. Slowly green flecks dipped and pulsed into her gray eyes as her expression went from serious to dangerous as Jyo's words flowed over her conciousness and fueled her anger, "It was not WHAT he asked, it's the WAY he asked. The complete and utter disrespect that came with his tones and body language."

Joseph stepped back, gritting his teeth as he clutched his hand. Looking down he could see hundreds of cuts lining his flesh. They were slow to bleed, but the life sustaining liquid surly did begin to flow. His hand, his right hand! It would need to be healed by someone who could remove all damage. Otherwise it would be a long time before he could grip his weapon again. Had this been on the battle field, she would have possibly sealed his fate. The gunmage held his bleeding hand to his stomach and looked back at Ziare with a look of helplessness. He'd tried and failed miserably. Maybe Talbot was too hard of a pinacle for him to reach...

Jyo didn't move from where he was. "Sorry Eldran you are on your own there. To an extent. But Talbot calm down. I have the feeling his manner was more due to ignorance rather than malic or disrespect for us. You can either say yes or no to this. There is no call for confrontation here." he said calmly. It was clear Jyo was not easily upset and kept a cool head.

Ziare let go of Jyo's hand and walked close to Talbot not touching her.
"Tal? Tal you cannot take your anger out on those that love you." she said in a soft voice. "Release the spell Tal I believe that Eldran will have gotten your point quite clearly."
Ziare moved around to stand behind Eldran so she could see Talbot's face clearly and hopefully make eye contact.
"I know that it seemed more of a request than a favor but why don't we give him a chance to speak for a moment. Perhaps he can clarify."
Ziare shot Eldran a look he probably couldn't see but she didn't know what else to do.

Eldran started quivering in fear. "For the first time, I'm scared. I'm trying to be calm, but I cannot."
His normally cheerful face was not so cheerful. "I'm asking, not demanding."
He closed his eyes and his voice was quivering as he spoke quietly. "More like I'm begging."

Meeting Ziare's eyes, the spots of green pulsed and consumed for only a moment before fading back into the gray. The only words of Eldran's she heard among the highwinds in her mind, "...I'm begging." Talbot winced slighty- - What am I doing? She canceled the spell, closing her hand, the chair squeaking softly as the weight was relieved from it and Eldran, stepping back, stepping away, she shook her head, she had no words for what she had done, she was ashamed and embarassed- but her face showed none of it, she held her expression blankly as she slowly realized what she had done. She looked at Joseph, not directly, saw what she had done- and held back a sudden want to cry. What's wrong with you, Stupid? "I'm sorry," was all she could say, the tone was barely hearable, but it was all she could manage without fleeing or crying- or both.

There was a drawn out silent moment as everyone peered at Talbot. From her sudden, intense regret it was obvious she was not acting herself. Joseph, realizing this, sighed. For a moment there he had actually lost hope. Now he knew his feelings weren't pointless at all. They were needed more than ever. Talbot had a terribly painful past, that obviously could manifest itself in the present. Who better to sooth someone in pain, than an empath.
The gunmage still holding his hand gave her a slightly shaky smile. "It's alright Tal." Ziare's petname came unbidden on its own as he stepped close to his date. Releasing his injured hand, he brushed the back of his fingers (since the front was tarnished with blood) along hers. "Everything's fine. We heard what Eldran had to say. What do you say we leave these three to discuss things, while you and I go get some air? Just you and me, we'll go someplace quiet in that garden outside." he offered in the sweetest, most nurturing voice he could muster. His hand could wait. If anything he'd at least ask a servant to fetch him a cloth.

Ziare smiled at Talbot and came around touching her lightly on the forearm offering her a smile and comfort.
"It's all right Tal. Perhaps Jospeh is right. Some fresh air may do you good." she told her. "Jyo and I can fill you two in later if your interested."
Ziare looked at Joseph's hand and frowned. She could heal minor wounds she only hoped that that's what these were. She summoned Celeste and the girl smiled as she walked to Joseph taking his hand in her own small one. The light began to filter across across the girls hand and the skin on Josephs hand began to heal. When she was done the girl disappeared and all that was left was dry blood on his hand.
"There not so bad as it looked." she said to him and smiled.
