Shea felt the hand on hers and her eyes shot up to Mayon. Why was he holding her hand? They had just met. She was seriously confused now. Was this normal? Her left hand twisted her earings faster and faster in her left ear.
"Umm.. well a jewel mage uses precious gems to focus powers. I can call out the elemental quality represented by each gem." she explained. "Like, ruby for fire, emerald for earth, sapphire for water, diamond for healing and light, onyx for dark and summoning."
As she did this she used her left hand to show all the gems she had on her body. Each one represented. The ruby on her right wrist, the emerald, sapphire and onyx earings, the diamond necklace. All represented all always with her. It was then that Darian caught her attention and she turned to look at him. He handed her a velvet bag. Pulling her hand out of Mayon's she took the bag from him.
With a blush and both hands she opened the bag and then unfolded the violet velvet and her breath caught in her throat. She looked up at Darian her eyes wide with shock. A star ruby something she had seen and had heard rumors of but this was by far the most beautiful that she had ever seen. She looked up at him again.
"I.. I can't take this." she whispered. She turned the amulet around in her palm and saw all the engravings and her eyes teared up slightly. The engraving on the back made her eyes meet his again. The chain looked like a vine. It was all so.. beautiful.
"Are you sure? I mean.. this must have cost a fortune.. but.. why?" she asked looking at him.

Robert looks at the easily older boy. He didn't know much about the age of someone, or how to tell the usual statistic. However, it was very evident that he was older. That much was for sure.
Robert's expression changed not even slightly at the mention of an invitation. Even the thought of such a thing was not aloud. No contact. At least not for long. Words were permitted to be directed at him, but company was absolutely off limits, and reaction in speech was only to be used when necessary. Of course, it still had to remain very little. Those were the rules of his existance. They were etched in stone, as were the proper responses for such an offer. In-fact, the responses for any offer. Leave.
His eyes remained looking straight ahead at the ground, Robert seeing only the feet of the group infront of him moving ever forward. Good, of course. If they left, then he could get on his way. Even though his way was the same direction as the group, his was at a much slower pace. One, because his legs were shorter, and two, because his steps were much more relaxed. They were naturally the steps of one without a purpose. One without a reason or destination. In a way, they were the footsteps of one released from the grip of their master. However, it was naturally different in Robert's case. In his situation, it was the footsteps of one remaining in the grip of his own self. In the grip of his own curse.
His dull eyes looked up ever so slightly to see the group dissapearing through a doorway. They were gone, leaving Robert to actually ponder the answer that seemed so evident, yet was still being so quickly forced into questioning. To follow after them was to break the rules, and to break the rules was to prove himself unworthy of the outside world. However, there was more to it. As long as Robert remained out of contact and out of conversation with the group, then he was not questioning his loyalty. He could enter the restaurant after them, yet not sit with them. He had to remain somewhere without anyone near him. As long as he did that, he could enter. And he did.
He slowly found himself to a two-person table near the group, right in one of the lower corners. A waiter quickly approached, one of the first to hear Robert's voice. It was clear this time he would have to stay put, for moving would only attract another. However, he would have to keep his words with in the limits of length.
"Leave me and do not come back."
The waiter seemed astonished by such a request, yet kept his surprise (and quite frankly, anger) down inside himself, answering quickly before he left for another table.
"Yes, sir."
All it was for Robert to do now was watch the group, listening to their speech and keeping an ever keen eye on their actions. Maybe it would pose as some sort of help when speaking. Maybe help him when he needed to be polite or anything of the sort. However, that was a very implausible situation. And so Robert hoped it would remain.

He closed her hand around the gem and shook his head. He wanted her to have this it was able to be told in his eyes as he wrapped her fingers around the cool metal and crystal. He gave a smile at her as he heard her questions and he wagged a finger. He did sense that Robert had entered seeing him out of the corner of his alert eyes but, his attention right now was focused on Shea and he gave a smile at her.
"I want you to have it Shea this is for you. It suits you very well when I spotted it at the shop during my own purchases I knew it called to you. At the same time I believe it can unlock more potential..."
He said softly and gazed at her eyes his holding hers.
"The cost doesn't matter it never did to me. What is important however, is the thought in it. As a jewel mage you tap into the deep recesses of the gem as long as it was natural. With one of the rare star gems you can tap into both elements eventually and mix your powers into something new."

Mayons eyes shot to the door as he saw the boy walk in the café. He smiled as to sense something about the boy. He turned his head however as he didn’t care about such a small boy and his potential. Mayon did however wonder why Darian had invited the child since he did not know the child and could have scared the boy with the gun blasts. This was another reason not to go overboard.
Mayons glance shifted towards Darian as he gave a present to Shea. When it was opened Mayon smiled. It was a star ruby, there were not many of those around but he had seen one before. As a child Mayon once took a glance at such a ruby in a shop window and didn’t think anything of it. But after he started studying he realized it was a rather rare ruby. As Mayon looked to see Sheas reaction he could see tears building up in her eyes.
Mayon looked away smiling. It was a rather nice gift. He looked to the ceiling and closed his eyes. Once again he had drifted off. The daydream was a memory of his life as a child. He was still five and still blonde and blue eyed. He was remembering the day the tool shed exploded from Mayon trying alchemy, causing his hair to turn black and his eyes red. He shot his eyes opened and quickly moved his hands under the table. He felt intense pain in his right hand but acted as if nothing was one. The scar that looked like a transmutation circle was forming on his hand again so he quickly took out his white gloves and put them on. The scar then formed on the glove but looked as if it was drawn there as it always had when he wore white gloves. It was better to have them see this then the scar. The pain left as it usually did and Mayon still looked happy and fine.

She looked up at Darian again and smiled gently she touched the hand that was over hers gently as she looked into his eyes.
"Thank you." she whispered.
Gently she sat the gem and chain down on the table in front of her and she reached up taking her own small one karrat diamond necklace off her neck placing it in the bag wrapped in velvet. She picked up the new necklace and lifted it up to her neck. She pulled the beautiful chain back around underneath her hair and clasped it together. Now the necklace hung around her neck beautifully.
The waiter came and she looked up smiling at him as he sat the drinks down on their table.
"Excuse me, do you think you could send a hot chocolate to that boy over there?" she asked pointing to the small boy from the street. "Just tell him it's from us."
The waiter nodded and left. Shea took a sip of her hot chocolate and smiled it was perfect. Not too hot and just the right amount of sweetness.
"So tell us a bit about yourself Mayon." she said looking over at him with a gentle smile.

Mayon listened as Shea ordered a coffee for the boy. He smiled then looked at her as she asked him to tell them about himself. Mayo lifted his hand to look at the back of his hand where the mark was. He studied it. He still had no idea what it was for. He had no idea what it could do. He still remembered that day when he was hit with such force from the explosion it knocked him unconscious.
The days when he was blonde. Mayon never did like his hair color as a child. He hated being blonde and longed to have black hair. But the eyes came with the package he guessed. Mayon didn’t describe things of his past very well. It was kind of hard for him as some of it was painful. But it didn’t matter. Mayon was asked a question and he might as well do his best to answer it.
“Well up to the age of five I was blonde and blue eyed. I trained with my father and grew up a normal life. Except that I was being trained to learn alchemy at a very young age. I grew up and then had black hair and red eyes. i moved here after years of training and school work and have only been here for a week or two.”
Mayon looked at the two and still didn’t know much about them so he also wondered.
“So what about you Shea?”

Darian layed his hand against Shea's as he saw her smile over wearing the star ruby. It did look beautiful around her neck and he gave a happy smile over it as he turned to face Mayon again. He swirled his own drink for a moment inhaling the wonderful aroma of the rich flavor that went into it. Yes that made terrific cappicinos here and he absolutely loved thier french roast one. He had a weakness for it.
So he's an alchemist, I guessed that before but, this confirms it.

Shea looked over at Mayon and thought his story left a lot to be desired. She wondered if she could sum up her life in a short speel like that. He looked right at her and asked her not them so she figured she would be the one to answer.
"Well I was adopted into a lousy family with lousy parents that were never around. My magic awoke during one night when they were home and fighting over me as usual. Then I got to come here." she said with a grin as she had summed herself up rather nicely.
"Do you have any hobbies?" she asked taking a sip her left hand wrapped around the warm mug of her hot chocolate.

Mayon listened as Shea summed up her life into a couple words and he smiled. She sounded like she had a stressful life. Mayon knew that feeling well. He didn’t know much about her life still but he also didn’t tell her much but he figured it might come out later or some other day. He looked over at the counter and saw as many others placed orders for food or drinks. Then Shea asked if Mayon had any hobbies.
“Well I guess I really do like to train and do regular exercises. I guess I like electronics as well as they are very interesting. I don’t do much I guess but I do like it. I do study a lot for regular educational stuff and alchemy. Also Magic altogether from animals to...I guess jewels as I have somewhat studied. What about you?”
Mayon asked as he quickly put his left hand over his right as to hide the symbol but it was starting to hurt a bit again. He looked over to Shea again looking unfazed from the pain. He looked over to the boy again. He wondered if he was going to walk over.

"I am a ballet dancer, a violinist, and a painter." she said listing off her hobbies. "I enjoy reading and and talking with my familiar."
She noticed the he covered one hand with the other and curiosity go the best of her. She looked at him and touched his arm gently.
"Are you alright?" she asked. She looked down at his gloves and then back up at him to indicate what she was talking about.

Mayon looked as she touched his arm. His arms became limp and he felt as if the wouldn’t move. He had no idea what was going on with him but he had to snap out of it before someone noticed. He watched as she looked at his hand. He lifted up his hand with all his mind power and placed it on the table showing the symbol on his hand. It seems that the aching was leaving again as it usually did but of course he didn’t mind getting rid of the pain as it felt much better.
“Well I am feeling better now but I hand was hurting. You see when I was about 5 years old and still experimenting with alchemy I went into my fathers tool shed and tried to perform a transmutation. I was blonde and blue eyed that day but when I woke up that night I noticed that I had red eyes and ash black hair. Also there was a burn on my hand that ached terribly. It disappeared and I didn’t think anything of it. But then it would reappear all the time. Sometimes it would hurt and sometimes it wouldn’t. Every time it appeared I tried to cover it with a glove just to see that it appeared anyway. It would appear on the glove in a black ink color as if it was woven into the fabric already.”
Mayon looked at his hand disappointed with the mark. He really didn’t like the fact that it was there serving no purpose. And if it did have a purpose Mayon still had no idea what it was. He raised it in the air and looked at it.
In a low calm voice he said “And I still have no idea what it does or what it is meant for because it is no normal burn.”
Then smiling and happy again started talking again. “That’s pretty much it.”

Shea took his hand in hers and slowly and carefully took off his glove placing it to the side. She ran her delicate hand over his for a moment touching the scar before her left hand went up to the emerald in her ear.
She kept his hand gently in hers because she had to touch the person in order for any of the spell to take effect. She knew that she couldn't heal the scar but she could take the pain away. She closed her eyes for a moment before the spell would take effect the pain in his hand effectively leaving. A small green shine reflected off her left hand's fingers that held her earing. After she was done she opened her eyes and patted his hand gently before letting his hand go.
"I hope, that it helped." she said softly as she turned back to Darian and smiled at him.
"So what should we do after coffee?" she asked the both of them.

((OOC: Just a note I hate catch-up posts and I should knock you a hard lump for what you did Mayon.))
Darian was annoyed at Mayon's deliberate leaving him out and his knuckles cracked under the table. If this pissant was trying to be rude he was doing a good job but, Darian's trained face showed no expression. Instead he moved his chair close to Shea and slid an arm around her waist. Turning his eyes down to her he gave a smile.
"Well....I was hoping to you'd be willing to go out on a date tonight Shea."
Key word. Date. As in Mayon out of the picture.
Even more his brief stories were even more rude and deliberate to Darian. This guy just tried to do some things thinking he could mozy on in with someone like he was some god of alchemy. Darian wasn't impressed with this guy's mannerisms in fact he had dropped several notches each time he had left Darian out of the conversation. There was something about Mayon that Darian just inherently didn't like and probably wouldn't until an apology was given.
Cocky as well. Too cocky there's something in the way he yammers that annoys as well.

Robert continued to listen to the group's words, as well as keep his dull yet perceptive eyes on them. His immediate judgement of them came from a word not commonly associated with Robert himself, which is probably why it found itself in a good position to judge others from his own point of view. Emotional. They always seemed to be transitioning in the world around the young boy. Joy. Anger. Sadness. However, hate seemed to be the most common one. Hate towards him. Hate towards those who even showed him compassion. But overall, they ranked at about the same level. All had to be pushed away.
His eyes were sharp for a moment as he heard the one who was apparently named Shea ask the waiter to bring Robert hot chocolate. Word for word actually, it was "that boy", but even the anti-social child could figure that one out.
His eyes returned to their dull selves after a quick blink by Robert, who adjusted himself as he stood up. It was obvious that his short time in a somewhat public environment had come to an end, as illustrated by his steady steps towards the door. The boy knew it would take at least a minute for the hot chocolate to be prepared, which was well enough time for Robert to leave. In the end, it was probably better than being stubborn and wishing to stay, only to have to tell the waiter to leave. That had a slight possibility of causing an argument, or worse, a conversation.
So, the boy just continued his small journey towards the door, and hopefully to the street to find himself back at home. He wanted to leave the cafe without any interaction with the group or the waiter, for then he would be breaking the rules, in which case he would have to use one of his powers to escape. This did not appeal, for if he broke the major rule of contact, he may be punished, or worse, deemed unworthy of the upper levels of the school.
OOC: Seems like I've got a bit of writer's block as well. ^_^

Shea saw the look in Darian's eyes when he had been passed over for conversation several times. She felt bad immediatly. But then he moved closer which was a shocker because she had assumed he had been mad at her. But his arm went around her waist and he pulled her closer.
At his words her eyebrow rose and she turned to look him fully in the eyes. She swallowed seeing that he indeed was serious.
"A date?" she blushed and looked down for a moment. "I would be honored."
She smiled at Darian and took his free hand in her own. She did see the boy leaving out of the corner of her eye.
"If you'll both excuse me." she said standing and giving Darian's shoulder a squeeze as she moved towards the boy who was just now beside the door.
"Hey. You don't have to stay if you don't want to. I ordered some hot chocolate for you but if you want to leave you can. I just wanted to let you know that should you like to stay we would be more than happy to have you there. My name is Shea. What's yours?" she asked a smile on her face but she made no move to touch him and she did not stand in his way.
