Phae hummed happily as she walked down the hallway of the arcane academy. She had a date! Well it wasn't really a date it was shopping with one of her very best friends. Jonathan. Lately he had been spending a lot of time with his girlfriend one Madelyn and Phae couldn't be happier for Jonathan. He was definatly a great friend. He had been there for her when she needed someone hence the gift in her hand.
Dressed in a short blue tshirt dress that hugged her curves but loosely. It fell to her mid thigh and no sword today as she was going shopping with Jonathan but she didn't know what for. She turned down the hall his dormitory was on and stepped up to his door.
Knock Knock Knock.
Phae waited for her friend to open the door a bright smile on her face as usual. She hadn't really gotten to spend much time alone with him lately but thought she missed him a little she was happy that he had finally found someone to love. When the door would open she would say...
"Hey there buddy!" happily of course as that was Phae. She would hand him the gift a bit shyly. Wrapped in a black and silver wrapping paper was a small journal the cover made of soft black leather and on the front in silver engraving was -Winters- and a silver pen with his name on it. "Umm.. I noticed you write.. when I was here last.. and I thought.. maybe it'd be nice for you to.. have you know...for being such a wonderful friend."
She would shrug and play it off with a nervous laugh and as Phae was never nervous she hoped that he would catch just how much it had meant to her what he had done for her.
"So anyway.. what are we shopping for today?"

Having just cleaned up, he heard the three knocks on his door. Ah! She was here.. no time for E-killers.. didn't need them around her. Quickly patting himself, checking to see what he was wearing, he nodded at the blue jeans, tightened with a belt, and the short-sleeved white shirt. Hair was pretty clean. Patting himself down one last time, checking for his wallet, he nodded to himself, went up to his door, and opened it. "Hey there buddy!"
Ahh... it was still so wonderful to have the old Phae back. "Rosenrot." he nodded, his face still rather displaced of emotion, his eyes smiling back, as he nodded. It'd been a while. His eyes turned to suprise, however, when she brought up a gift, her face suddenly turning shy. Receiving it with a nod, smiling back at her. Who-whoa... quite a gift. His eyes widening, his fingers crept precariously, as he backed up, his left hand waving her to come on in. His fingers quickly came to the edges, quietly unwrapping it, making sure not to wrinkle it, noting how expensive the paper looked, or, at least how good it looked. Casting it out, completely unfolded into his left hand, he went back to the counter, laying it there, carefully, his right hand then going up to look at what she'd given him. His jaw dropped. Looking back up at her, he looked at what appeared to be a small journal.. soft black leather.. even with his name on it. His eyes going over it, as he held it before him with his left hand, his right hand stroking over the letters carefully, as she went on, rather shyly, saying, "Umm.. I noticed you write.. when I was here last.. and I thought.. maybe it'd be nice for you to.. have you know...for being such a wonderful friend."
She sorta laughed nervously, Jonathan looking up at her, his eyes smiling at her. "So anyway.. what are we shopping for today?" A rare smile for anyone else, except Madelyn crept onto his face, as he took a step towards her, hugging her tightly. A warmth that he'd been given, one that he could finally share, his arms around her waist, hugging her tightly. She'd been so thoughtful, took the time to wrap it. Stepping back, he smiled again at her, opening up his book to the first part, the pen quickly coming into his hand, like his knife. .. A little blush came onto his face, as he wrote..
"... An engagement ring."

Phae watched figity as she stood in the center of the dormitory that belonged to Jonathan. It was the same as ever and she liked it. The military life. It was cute. Unique. She had a good memory of this place and would always hold it dear to her heart. She waited impatiently as he opened the gift even going far enough to save the wrapping paper.
She smiled at that. Always the practical one. She chuckled slightly when she looked up she froze. There was a new look about Jonathan. His face.. HE SMILED!! Her eyes opened wide as he came forward. What.. what ..
OH BLESSED MOTHER IN HEAVEN!
He hugged her!!! She smiled and hugged him back tightly letting it be a mutual hug. She really cared for Jonathan. Probably her best friend. Even though she rarely saw him anymore he was the first person she thought of when she thought about someone she could just sit down and talk to about things. Like her trust issues with Junpei still.
She watched as he opened the new book and using the pen he wrote something down. He showed it to her and the shock was evident on her face. Her eyes were wide as she looked up at him a smile slowly crossing her face.
"Eeeeeeeeeeee!" she squealed as she jumped up and hugged him tightly this time. "I'm so happy for you!!! Madelyn she seemed like such a nice girl. How wonderful!!"
She pulled back and took his hand in her own holding it gently as she delibrately led him to the door.
"Lets go! I feel so honored you want my help!!" she hugged him again still holding on to his hand. Obviously estatic. "I'm glad you found love."

"Eeeeeeeeeeee!" his face going crimson, as she jumped up, hugging him.. tightly.. he hugged back, but a little more hesitently, unaware that she'd react so.. excitedly. His face felt extremely crimson, but, nodded it off. "I'm so happy for you!!! Madelyn she seemed like such a nice girl. How wonderful!!" Gently pulling him to the door, he only followed without question, happy as well to see his friend in such a good way of thought.. even if it was at his expensve of embaressment. But, this was someone he trusted.. the only real person he knew, outside of the D-13, outside of Madelyn. "Lets go! I feel so honored you want my help!!" as she hugged him again, catching him offguard, but, he recovered more quickly, hugging her back. She was so excited.. "I'm glad you found love." So am I... so am I...
Quietly then, he led her on, still keeping her hand onto, giving a more shy grin, as he walked beside her, letting go of her hand, to hold up his journal, quickly writing.. underneath his line, neatly ... Thank you. I feel so happy right now.* * * * * * * 17 Minute Time Passage To The City Of Babylos * * * * * * * He hadn't really taken the time to get to know the city. Jonathan looked around.. such a vast, busy place. Looked around, not knowing where to go, honestly. A somewhat helpless look in his eye, he quickly wrote out, "Do you know where the ring shop is?"

Happy? Oh yes he should be happy for this was not only a big decision but one she knew Jonathan had not made lightly. She hummed happily as she read it and giggled. Yeah.. they were holding hands but she didn't care because she was engaged and he was about to be. If their significant others saw there might be fun questions to explain but it would be easy she thought.
Once in the city she looked up at Jonathan and immediatly knew he was lost. She chuckled as she read the journal and smiled. She hadn't expected him to use it right away and it warmed her heart that he did so. She smiled and nodded as she read the note and taking his hand gently in hers again she began to lead him to the shop she bought Junpei's ring from.
Here they specialized in magical and non magical rings and it was the perfect place she thought for Jonathan to get his bridal set. Inside the shop it was darkly lit with spotlights coming over the glass cases that held all the jewelry on display. She led him over to the bridal section to the right. There underneath the glass was all kinds of rings magical and non magical. Ones with every color stone he might want including diamonds and all the other precious stones.
"Okay, these are the bridal rings. There are two rings for one set. One is an engagement ring that you would give Madelyn when you ask her to marry you and the other is the one that you give her on your wedding day. So what you have to do now is look over all the rings and see if which set you think she would like." she said with a smile.
The sales person came over dressed in a nice suit with keys around his wrists and the little finger measuring devices. Phae figured her fingers were about the size of Madelyns and so she could try them on for Jonathan if he needed to see them on a finger instead of just hold them.
"When you are ready to see one just tell me and I'll pull it out for you." the salesman said in a soft manly voice.

Quickly peering down, as soon as she led him in, at all the rings. "Okay, these are the bridal rings. There are two rings for one set. One is an engagement ring that you would give Madelyn when you ask her to marry you and the other is the one that you give her on your wedding day. So what you have to do now is look over all the rings and see if which set you think she would like." Turning to her, and nodding at this, he looked around.. there were bright red ruby's, of eight-karats, overly expensive, dazzling diamonds that were almost painful to the eye.. Truthfully, it would match her skin, but.. no... he looked around, beginning to filter out what he wanted, and what he didn't want. Silver gold.. compliments to her skin.. something blue.. sapphire, to match her eyes. Not overly large, to almost 'dwarf' her fingers, but enough to signify something.. Aye, a mind was beginning to develop in his mind, as he looked over to Phae, trying to pretend that she was Madelyn, trying to picture how she would react.
"When you are ready to see one just tell me and I'll pull it out for you." said the salesman, Jonathan almost tuning him out completely, so lost in thought.. he thought he saw the perfect size, but, it was too large. The sapphire was huge, and the ring.. just not fitting her, fitting Madelyn... he needed a ring that was...: there. Silver-gold.. small-sized.. probably enough to fit Madelyn's finger, snugly, too snugly.. The stone was a perfect blue.. complimenting her violet-blue eyes with the simple elegance, the loveliness that he found in her eyes. He looked over to the salesman, pointing to it, with the medium-sized jewel that bulged out only just slightly, as the sapphire kept a roundish feel to it, even though it was boxed in a rectangular silver-gold. It was simple. It was beautiful. But, it was only a symbol of the true beauty that he saw.. in Madelyn. Holding up the journal, quickly scribbling in something, he went over to the salesman, pulling him over, pointing to a ring, holding up his journal.
That one.

Phae watched happily as he looked over the rings. She could almost smell the smoke of his internal gears working the logic and the ideas in her mind. She smiled up at him when she saw him staring at her and she wasn't sure what the heck that was about but soon his eyes went back to the rings.
She saw a lot of beautiful ones. True beauty was often hard to find but this store seemed to have bounds upon bounds of it in these rings. She followed his gaze to some sapphire rings and smiled. Her own ring was beautiful and she never took it off. She loved Junpei with everything she had and there was no way she would remove it unless something happened between them. It meant even more that it was his mothers weddding ring.
She saw Jonathan write a note and show the salesman an exquisit ring that made Phae nod and smile.
"Excellent choice. It's small so it should fit the size of her finger and her hand well. She's a very thin girl and too big of a stone would look bad. But I think it's perfect. Only my opinion though." she told him with a smile.
The salesman took the keys off his wrist and unlocked the cabinet sliding open the door he took his fingers and picked up the set. Pulling a small piece of black velvet and placed the two rings down on the velvet. The set together was beautiful. The man looked at Jonathan and nodded. He listed the price as bridal sets were sold as a set or seperatly. But to buy the set together you got a cheaper price.

"Excellent choice. It's small so it should fit the size of her finger and her hand well. She's a very thin girl and too big of a stone would look bad. But I think it's perfect. Only my opinion though." Jonathan watched the rings carefully, as the salesman took them out, laying them on velvet, nodding to him. He only.. glanced at the prices. It didn't matter what the cost was. So long as it fit.. he walked over, holding up each ring.. every sparkle, every gleam, perfect.. he looked up at Phae, putting down the ring, taking up his journal again, writing at the next line, Bearwith whatever I do, these next few minutes..
Quietly taking up his eye to it, a sniper's gleam, he checked for dents, checked to see if every single detail was perfect. It was solid, the stone, flawless. The engagement ring was also simple. Simply perfect.. Another glance was quietly shot from Phae, his back turned, as he went back to look at them. Putting down the wedding ring, gently, with his right hand.. he then picked up the engagement ring, holding it up, before his eyes, seeing Phae normally and in a tint of blue, where the stone covered his vision. Hopefully she remembered what he said.. practice made perfect, and he wanted to make this perfect, by the time it got to the actual thing. Nodding to the salesman, a hint of intent in his eyes, he walked over to Phae, patting her on the shoulder, squeezing it slightly, as he turned around again, three, four, five steps, as if to put it back down, his face blank.. but when he turned around, he took one.. two.. and then, kneeled down in his right, his right hand holding it up, his eyes shooting into Phae's eyes.. not seeing her.. but imaging the beautiful woman he was to proposing to.. His left hand supporting the right, trying to keep balance.. he looked up at her, as if this was really Madelyn, as if this was the real thing.. the emotions feeling so real in his eyes, his cheeks suddenly becoming a rush of red, as he spoke, even to his own suprise, without stuttering,
"... Madelyn Moore... will you marry me?"

Phae watched carefully as he picked up the ring and held it to his eye checking out the stone. She had never seen anyone do that before but she imagined as well trained with his eyes as he was not to mention if he held it to the light just righ he would be able to see quite a bit.
Jonathan walked over to her and squeezed her shoulder she looked up at him with a cocked brow and waited. What was that about? She looked back at the sales man and smiled and then looked over for Jonathan and saw him ... KNEELING!!
HE ISN'T.. HE WOULDN'T.. WOULD HE?
Oh yes.. as a matter of fact he would. What was this practice? Oh Lord's above! Phae giggled quietly as he asked her but she didn't say anything or make it loud because she was trying to be supportive to say she was shocked was an understatement.
She thought back to the memories of the vacant feeling when Junpei left her and tears fell from her eyes..hehe should could soo turn them on at will now. She smiled brightly as the tears fell and she moved over to Jonathan and cupped his cheek before kneeling down before him. Her eyes held a sadness but only because she had called up pain so she could use the tears.
"I would be honored." she whispered as she knelt down beside him and leaned in. She cupped his cheek and gave him a wink releasing another tear of pain as she kissed him gently on the lips. Letting it linger for only a moment before she moved to his left ear to whisper.
"Sie sind eine wundervolle Person. Madelyn ist glücklich, Sie zu haben. Danke für immer Sein mein sehr bester Freund, als ich Sie am meisten benötigte. Liebe ist viel etwas so Suchvorgang dennoch so wenig Entdeckung. Schätzen Sie, was Sie haben. Lassen Sie sie nie gehen. Für Liebe ist lassen Sie sie durch Ihre Finger gleiten zu speziell. Glückwünsche, Jonathan." she let her soft whisper reach his ear before she pulled back true tears falling from her eyes now.
[Translation:You are a wonderful person. Madelyn is lucky to have you. Thank you for always being my very best friend when I needed you most. Love is something so many seek yet so few find. Cherish what you have. Never let it go. For love is too special to let it slip through your fingers. Congratulations, Jonathan.]

Ignoring the salesman, Jonathan blushed harder, but smiled a little himself, as this was Phae he was kneeling towards, but Madelyn he was proposing to.. at least in his mind. But, it would happen soon enough. But, his eyes widened, slightly.. his eyes, following as tears dropped down her cheeks, as she was smiling. "I would be honored." Phae knelt down to him, cupping his cheeks.. reminding him so much of Madelyn's touch.. except, it wasn't Madelyn. She really was playing along with it, but her eyes.. the tears.. they were so sad. But then.. she felt her lips going onto his. And he blushed, not pressing back.. it was just.. a simple kiss. His face grew hot, as fairly uneasy as it was, but.. he appreciated it, for what she was trying to reanimate.

That kiss.. reminded me of old feelings.. but it makes me all the more happy that I now know what you feel in your heart and soul, this feeling that you hold for Junpei and only Junpei.. this feeling that I hold for Madelyn and only Madelyn.]
His head went to rest on her left shoulder, as he hugged her again, raising her back up, looking at her, true gratitude in his eyes, as the salesmen must have been looking at this as nothing short of scandalous. Quietly walking back to the velvet, he laid down the engagement ring, as if it were the holy grail itself.. and for how he felt.. it could've been. Quietly, he took out his journal again, writing into it, showing the salesman, I'll take both.

Phae looked into Jonathan's eyes as he spoke to her and her tears changed from sad to happy as she let him raise her up standing again she squeezed his hand for a moment before letting go. The salesman probably thought they were either nuts or they were cheating on his soon to be fiance'. But they were neither just two very close friends.
She stepped up to the coutner wiping the last of the tear drops away as she leaned against the glass watching the salesman. He began to clean the rings of all fingerprints so that they shone again like the beautiful set they were. Inside two boxes one small flat box for the wedding band and one square box that was ornate and made of silver.
Handing Jonathan a bill and telling him to sign 'here.. here .. and here' and telling him the total which wasn't bad but it was more than Phae had thought it would be. She smiled up at Jonathan and the sales man set the two boxes into a gift bag waiting for his payment.
"You picked out beautiful symbols of your love for her. I know she will love them." she said softly and squeezed Jonathan's arm lightly.

A squeeze of the hand. Rosenrot. Letting her go her way, she cleaned up her tears. It almost scared him.. so close to seeing her in such a state of realistic sadness. But, it was only a glimpse, seeing her eyes turn to happiness. His eyes traveled past her, over to the salesman, watching, staring at the handiwork, as he removed fingerprints from the rings. Walking up to the salesman, as he put away the rings into their neat little boxes, swallowing nervously, his eyes flicking to Phae, as she too watched the salesman, he nodded at the price, signing without hesitation. Whatever was needed.. he had enough saved up, for his two-week checks that he would still receive from the D-13 for his services. It was surprising, even to him, that he'd use up a lot of it in one go, as he'd usually just buy the necessities, but, obviously.. this was different.
Reading, glancing at the fine print, casting occasional stares at the salesman, he got out his silver pen, letting it dance on the paper, until everything was filled out. Getting out his checkbook, often his form of paying for things, if they went beyond the twenty-dollars he kept in wallet consistently, he looked at the sum, copying it down, his eyes glazing over it, signing it, putting away the pen, tearing out the check, and nodding as he put the check in the salesman's hand. "You picked out beautiful symbols of your love for her. I know she will love them."
Picking up the bag, feeling his arm being squeezed on, slightly, he looked at her, pausing. His arms were fast, going around her again, hugging her close to him, his face emotionless, eyes closed, but tears streaming down his eyes, silently crying in happiness on her shoulder. He'd found such a good friend.. and he'd found someone he'd loved. God Bless Arcane Academy.. for the kind Rosenrot Phae and his wings, Madelyn..
"Th-thank y-you... Rosenrot."
