Phae laughed again. It seemed to be something she did a lot with him. She was definatly enjoying herself now more than she had in such a very long time. Since Junpei had left for that week she had not really let her hair down and been able to just be herself.
"Fine, fine. I wouldn't want to owe you anything. God forbid you actually had to spend more than just breakfast with me." she said with a grin as she looked up at him.
They walked hand in hand for some time as she led him through the streets. She pointed out a few things on the way. Where they had the festival every year. Where the great places to eat dinner and lunches were. Where the best shops were and where he could buy things cheaply but of quality. She found it very easy to open up to Blacky, here.
"Mmm I smell breakfast." she giggled. "This way." she said as she pulled him down a left street closer to the smell.

Price just smirked and shook his head, making good on his last words, seemingly refusing to speak any further as she talked to him. She led on, past various shops stores and buildings, and Price took it all in with a careful eye. He was no stranger to big cities, as he had been in and around many of them his whole life, what with traveling to the various tournaments and such that were almost always held in the larger cities of the world, but this one seemed so much different. There was a certain aura about the place, just a particular atmosphere he could feel from it, that made it different than all others. Truly, it was obvious why this was Babylos, the City of Magic. Price took in a deep breath, taking in all of the sights, sounds, and smells...
Including the tell-tale pleasant olfactory assault of breakfast foods off in the distance. Phae picked up on it as well and spoke again, leading the way to the breakfast. Price, of course, simply nodded over-exuberantly, consciously making an effort not to say anything at all and over-explain himself through his actions. Naturally, the same smirk was across his face the entire time.

She had to shake her head and smile as she noticed he didn't speak. He was holding true to his words of not speaking much yet. She continued walking down the streets and she finally found the place that was open and cooking.
It was a small quaint cafe that served three meals a day and opened before dawn to catch the early workers in the city. It had seats and tables on the patio under bright blue umbrellas and inside it had the same tables and chairs. The sign on the door said they were open and she smiled. She didn't say anything she just pulled him in with her hand and looked around.
"Outside or inside you two?" the waitress asked as she saw the two enter. Phae looked up at Blacky.
"You chose." she said with a grin.

Phae turned around as the waitress asked if the two wanted to dine inside or outside. Price's eyes opened wide and his jaw dropped. So this was how it was going to be, was it? It seemed Phae was forcing him into a situation where, despite his promise of remaining silent, had to decide where to sit, and most likely, would have to do so vocally. He began to silently fluster, pointing this way and that, looking all around, trying to somehow convince her to change her mind without saying anything, and knowing he had no chance, narrowed his eyes and looked at her as if he was angry, his mouth set in a straight line. During all this buffoonery, Price hadn't noticed that the waitress seemed a little worried about him. She suddenly spoke up, as cautiously as anyone would when making the accusation she was about to make.
"Is... is he...?"
Price, realizing what the poor girl probably thought of him, suddenly shook his head, trying not to laugh. "No... no I'm not deaf, sorry. We'll..." he thought for a few moments before coming to a snap decision. Unlike many at his age, Price usually knew what he wanted and had no qualms about saying so. Indecision had never been an issue for him. "We'll sit outside, if there's a table prepared."
"Yes there is, right this way, you two," the waitress smiled brightly and turned, rolling her eyes at the goofiness of the two as soon as they were out of visible range of her eyes. She sat them at a nearby table, shaded by a large parasol, and handed them menus.
"What would you like to drink this morning?" the waitress asked, eyeing Price first. He replied near-instantly, again already knowing what it was he wanted.
"A glass of milk, please. Tall as it can get."
"Good choice, yes..." The waitress trailed off as her eyes went towards Phae, silently asking her the very same question.

To watch some cocky man like Blacky fluster made her giggle. Because once more she had caught him off guard and she could only smile. She loved this feeling there would never be a better one than this. She couldn't help but smile up at him as his mouth sucked air like a flopping fish.
Finally, he decided to speak and she grinned. Take that buddy. She thought inwardly as she smiled as now they would be able to watch the sun finish rising outside. Excellent choice. She let the waitress lead them outside and she took her seat next to Blacky her hand still in his. It just felt right. She couldn't explain it as the waitress asked what they wanted to drink.
"Chocolate milk please." she said with a smile.
The waitress lay two menus down one in front of each of them with a smile. Phae figured they looked like a couple holding hands but she didn't care. She was not only having fun with her new friend but unless he let go of her hand she really didn't want to be the one to do it.
"I'll be back with your drinks and to take your order in a few moments." she assured them and soon they were left alone on the patio.
"A very nice day." Phae said to him with a smile as she opened her menu with one hand and began to read it over. Trying to decide on something small. She didn't eat breakfast much and when she did it was minute. So this was indeed going to be interesting.

Price, on the other hand, loved breakfast. Oftentimes, in fact, he'd wake up earlier in the morning than he had to, just for the chance to eat breakfast before school, tournaments, or whatever it was he had to go off to. He grinned at the prospect of the breakfast to come, happily thumbing through the menu with his free hand, taking in all the delicious pictures. Pancakes? Eggs? Waffles? Omelettes? Hash browns? Suddenly, Price wasn't so sure if all the talk of 'Heaven' was simply people who had only gotten as high as Babylos and, after seeing the food, refused to come back down. As he worked through the breakfast menu with one hand, he wondered offhandedly why there was only one, until he realized that the other was still in Phae's own hand, laying on the table. Unable to resist, Price opened his mouth again. Directing the point of his comment with his eyes by looking down at their conjoined hands.
"Lemme guess, afraid I'll run away like a bad dog? Woof." He added another dry bark, but gave Phae's hand a quick squeeze, hopefully indicating to her that, despite his joke, he had no intentions of releasing the hold himself.
"It is a nice day, Lucky. Watching the beautiful sunrise coming up while eating a beautiful breakfast with a beautiful girl... maybe I'm the one who's more deserving of that nick name." Price winked and smirked over at her, leaning back and casually awaiting the drinks to come.

She sat her menu down on the table in front of her and when he spoke she turned to look at him and she chuckled. She squeezed his hand back. She could say the same about not wanting the other to leave because he sure as hell wasn't letting go. Why had they clicked? She didn't really care all that mattered was that she was enjoying herself and he wasn't complaining.
She actually blushed at his compliment. And Phae was not one of those girls that blushed. Hell she had kissed him already and that hadn't made her blush yet his compliment had.
"Why thank you, but I'll keep my nickname, it's special to me now you can't have it back. Besides, I like Blacky." she said with a wink.
The waitress came back to ruin the awkward staring moment Phae had going on with Blacky. Phae swallowed and blinked blushing slightly again as she turned her attention back to the waitress.
"I'd like the scambled eggs and bacon platter, please." she said with a smile. The waitress looked over at Blacky and so did Phae. There was just.. something.

Price caught the flush of color invading her cheeks and just smirked, shaking his head mock-disapprovingly at her, almost as if to say 'Come on, don't make it THAT easy for me, now.' The two got caught into a moment of silence, however, as Price's grin faded and he simply gazed into her eyes for what seemed like the longest time, a more thoughtful expression on his face than perhaps anyone had ever seen upon it. It was a strange thing, his relationship with this Phae girl. They had only just met, but Price already found himself getting on with her much better than he had with anyone else before. Sure, back on the ground he was so completely absorbed with the Martial arts Tournament scene that he barely had the time or chance to talk to or hang out with anyone who wasn't either his senseis, or his fellow fighters, but even so, this girl seemed to connect with him in a way he'd never had before. And frankly, Price liked it. She was pretty, hell, she was absolutely beautiful, she was athletic, and she was sharp with her wit. Why wouldn't the two of them get along, right?
Either way, there was something he couldn't quite define, and that's why his hand was still in hers as they went over the menu.
The waitress finally arrived, breaking up the strange silence, and Phae ordered her choice of breakfast before the waitress's eyes, as well as Phae's, regarded Price. "Oooh, hold on... hmm... yeah," he said finally, coming to a decision. "I want the ham and cheese omelette... that comes with has browns, right?" he asked the waitress, who simply nodded in reply. "Good, I want that... a full-stack of pancakes... and... a side of bacon." He smirked over at Phae, as the waitress nodded again.
"Alright, I have those right out." She said and disappeared back into the building.
Meanwhile, by this point, Phae was most likely staring at him because of the rather large amount of food he had just ordered. Shrugging, Price laughed and grinned over at her. "What? I like breakfast."

Phae's eyes could only grow larger as he ordered his meal. My God. Did they make a good couple. She barely ate and he ate .. well more than enough. But if he was very athletic then that would explain things. She figured that most guys that were athletes tended to eat a lot. She used to eat a bit but since Junpei had left her she had not regained her appetite and found herself many times having to force herself to eat so she wouldn't have to hear about it from Junpei or dodge out of eating by being too busy for him to notice.
She chuckled as he asked her what was so wrong with ordering a big breakfast and she could only shake her head. It was likely she wouldn't eat all of what she had ordered anyway. So atleast she had hoover over here to help her finish.
"So, Blacky. Where are you from?" she asked looking over at him she turned slightly in her chair to face him better but her hand never once loosened it's grip on his.
There was a connection there. And she didn't want to let it go just yet. She didn't know how they got along so well. Normally, Phae scared the newcomers because she was just so dang happy. But this guy seemed to enjoy her personality and she too enjoyed his.
"And what is your real name?"

"Me? Oh, nowhere special, really. A little suburb out of Dallas, Texas. Of course, if you want to talk about places I've BEEN to... Munich, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Washington, DC, the list goes on..."
Price shrugged it off, clearly more interested in his travels than his home town. The place had served for little other than exactly what it was: The place of his birth. He lived there, he trained there, and up until now, he had gone to school there. It was nice while it lasted, but his heart had always been traveling abroad.
"Besides," he continued, moving on to the next question, seamlessly. "What do you mean my 'real name'? You guessed it right on the first try. Blacky Robertson. I was quite impressed, really." Price smirked, and then laughed, unable to restrain himself and keep his 'cocky boy' image.
"Richard. Richard Price. Most people call me Price... and some, apparently, give me dog-names as well." He smiled genuinely, perhaps for the first time she'd seen, and shook the hand he was currently holding, and for some reason not letting go of.
"Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lucky!"

So he too had come from America. Yet he didn't have that draw to his words like she had heard Texans had but perhaps it was because he traveled that much. Silently she wondered how big his family's ranch must have been. Though she couldn't imagine Blacky actually wrangling calves .. well it was Texas after all that's what they do there.
Then he said his real name was Blacky and her eye brows shot up. Now, she knew that had to be a joke. Because .. well wait now it was Texas. Didn't they name their kids weird things like Bucky, Tex, and Shooter? Then there of course were the horrid parents that named their poor boys after the cities. Like Houston, Austin, and Dallas. I mean really could people not think for themselves?
But then he explained his name was Richard and she laughed. Well at least he had a normal name. That was some relief. She just couldn't put Tex with a face like that. She cringed at the thought. But his smile, a real one, would have stopped the heart of a lesser girl. Phae smiled back brightly as she looked into his eyes.
"Right, well when you don't give a girl your name even after she give you hers. You get a dog name. Didn't you get that memo? Obviously not." she chuckled.
"So what kinds of things do you like to do, Blacky?" she asked with a smile.

"Apparently, you little mage kids need to find a better postal service, then. Dropping the letters off the side of the floating island really isn't cutting it, you know." The regular smirk was right back up, gracing his features once again as he replied to Phae's first remark.
Adjusting himself in the seat a little bit, he propped his elbow of his free hand on the table and rested his head in it casually, and moved on to answering her second question.
"I could probably answer this one in two words: Martial Arts. Been training in Kyokushinkai and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu since I was a little guy, and been competing in tournaments for almost as long. I guess you guys don't get a lot of TV up here, or maybe you just don't watch it. I'm a World Champion, I've won three consecutive World Titles before I ended up here."
Price spoke about it as if it was nothing, simply just another walk in the park for him, which, as far as he had been concerned, it was. His face, of course, still held that proud little smirk it seemed to always wear.
"But enough about me, for now at least, because believe me, I can talk about me for hours on end with no stopping if I wanted to," he said offhandedly with a casual wink as he lifted his head from his hand, "What about yourself? Tell me a little. Where you're from, what you do, why you're here, let's get all that 'ice-breaker' stuff out of the way before the food comes and I forget about yo-"
The boy was interrupted by the waitress coming back with a big platter, containing both Price's and Phae's meals. She set one plate down in front of Phae, then three in front of Price, as he beamed happily at the sight of his food. "Enjoy your meal, you two," she said as she walked away.
Price quickly picked up his fork and held it at the ready, but then remembered the girl across from him. Letting out a loud, overdone and comical sigh, he looked back over to Phae. "Okay, fine, I'll hold off until you tell me about yourself... but this better be worth it!" He said jokingly, listening for the girl's reply.

Phae laughed at his comment a full hearted laugh something she hadn't done in quite some time. She was feeling more and more like herself lately and she had a feeling it was all because of this man. The one that wouldn't let go of her hand and the one she didn't want to let go of just yet. It was almost a game now to see just how long they could hold each others hand without needing it.
"Wow! World Champion that's great. Maybe you can teach me. I'd like to learn a bit more physical stuff. I love my sword and heck it's my magic but I would like to learn more and I love working out. So maybe if you're up to it.." she said with a smile as she looked at him.
Damn. The man was just fine. But sitting there with his head in his hand like this was .. *drool*. He asked her about herself and she smiled. So he was interested about her. Well that was good she wasn't sure. Though truthfully the way he was clinging to her hand it should have been obvious.
The food came and she looked up at the waitress and smiled. She sat a rather large plate in front of Phae and another three plates in front of Price. She chuckled softly at the amount of food he had gotten and was going to be truly amazed if he ate it all. She chuckled as he told her to answer first.
"You can eat while I answer. Please, don't let me keep you." she chuckled.
"I am from Belin, Germany. I'm a twin. My sister goes to this school as well. In my spare time I train and read. I meet new people and explore places including the city. I like to go clubbing that's super fun." she said with a grin.
"As to why I'm here. Well, magic of course. I woke when I was younger with my magic my sister didn't wake til recently. I'm a sword mage so my magic and my sword are interlinked. But it doesn't help my skill it only changes the properties of my blade. Whether it makes it harder, or covered in flames, or ice. All kinds of things." she said with a bright smile.
"Now eat, Blacky!" she laughed.
She picked up her fork with her left hand as her right was currently still busy holding his left. She could eat like this she didn't mind so long as he didn't let go. She took her fork and stabbed some of her eggs and began muching happily. Her eyes watching him from time to time.

Price held his fork in his right hand, twirling it casually between his fingers with rather deft precision as he listened to Phae speak her life in a few short sentences. He was listening, honestly, but that tempting smell of food was hard to resist. He forced himself to, though, tuning his ears to the sound of her voice (and what a pretty voice it was) as she went on to talk about her magical abilities. So, she focused magic through the sword? That was pretty neat, and nothing at all like what Price had thought he'd encounter coming here. In fact, the whole presupposition of kids in robes and scarves running around riding broomsticks and pointing wands at people whilst yelling "Expelliarmus!" had quickly been shot down. He made a mental note to thank the girl for that, as Price had been honestly worried that, upon coming up here, he was going to be stuck in some stupid kid's book.
She finally 'allowed' him to eat, and he gave her a long, deep, obviously overplayed nod, as if he were graciously bowing to his majesty. "Why thank you, my lady, for this most generous offer," he said sarcastically, twirling his work around his thumb with a flick of his middle finger and catching it in a 'ready to eat position' and began to dig in to his omelette, deciding to start on that first, occasionally going for a piece of bacon or a drink of milk interspersed between them.
"So," he conversed in between bites, "A twin sister, eh? Identical? If so, that might just be too much cute running around in one school," he said laughing, and going back to his eating, occasionally darting his eyes up to look at her for a reply.

Phae looked up from her meal and smiled at him. He was indeed going to be one of the most fun people to ever know. She sat down her fork and finished her bite of food. Yet, making him wait even longer was the fact that she began to sip her drink. Finally, she sat it down and decided to answer.
"Yes, we're identical but we couldn't be more different. She's everything I'm not. Shy, quiet, very reserved and regal. I'm more outgoing and happy. Very loud and friendly. A girl not likely to give up." she said with a grin.
"Besides, Phoebe is taken. She and this huggable kid at the school named Xeryth got together like her first day here. It's crazy but to see them together makes you just want to hug them both. Anyway, do you have any siblings?"
She went back to her eyes eating slowly trying to digest and eat at the same time yet failing as always. She looked up every so often to see what he was going to say. She wanted to know all about him and question time was the only way. Yay for twenty questions!
