((OOC: Continued from Cat Burglar))
Lucian stepped into the glowing portal that comprised the teleporter. He could not believe the radical turn his day had taken. He had, earlier, been enjoying a nice, simple, and quiet walk across the grounds of the school between classes. Then a big, cat-eared, and tailed bombshell had been dropped on him. She had struck him like a sack of potatoes after having stolen a charm necklace from another student. The only way Lucian had been able to convince her to return the necklace was to agree to taking her into the city to buy three things of equal shininess. Lucian had gotten the necklace back but was seriously contemplating the price had paid.
There was the familiar sensation of stepping into nothingness as he vanished into the teleporter. Then there was the rush of air and sound as if he were being sucked through a tube. After that his foot contacted solid ground as he stepped out of the teleporter and into the market district of the city of Babylos. Lucian grinned as the sounds and smells of the district washed over him as he stepped up beside Mirei who had gone through the teleporter ahead of him.
"So Kitty are you ready to go shopping?" he asked, offering her his arm with a grin, "Any shiny thing you want I suppose," he said with a soft sigh. She was going to be an interesting one to take out to the city that was for sure.

To think...she had snatched a chain to get something valuable, even if it had sentimental value to another, and after being forced to return it...she was getting three other things of equal value. My my, Mirei sure was lucky at times. Instead of only one pretty shiny object, she had managed to turn it right around with the help of Lucian the Hero-boy and get three. Splendid.
As she came out the teleporter, Mirei's ears lowered. She was quite anxious seeing as it was her first time around. Her tail lowered and wrapped intself around her left leg and she seemed to keep herself scruntched in. It was...different. Usually in public, she'd wear a long skirt to hide her tail and a hat to cover her ears. But here...people were more understanding. More...like her in a way. She smiled softly and slowly straightened herself up, brushingsome of her hair out of her face and lifted her ears a little.
She could hear many sounds. Smell many distinct smells. Lucian was beside her and soon began to speak. "I'm ready" she replied, smiling and looking around. "Tell me...where can I find jewels and stones?" she asked looking around. She sniffed the air, twitched her ears then waved at him. "Oh no, nevermind, I fond it!" she squeaked, rushing off through the croud. "Hurry up Sparky!" she managed to call, her voice high pitched that even all the peoples chatter couldn't muffle it down.
She skidded to a stop, looking towards a small booth that had strange little trinkets and smirked. There it was... She slowly approached it, hopping ontop of peoples heads and quickly making her way there. Everything was soo...so...shiny. And lovely too. Golden bracelets and coloured stones. Absolutely lovely. "I'll wait for Sparky before I choose." she told herslef. "Maybe he can help be decide!" Her slitted red eyes shifted through the lovely objects while her fuzzy little cat ears listened for footsteps. Her noes would pick up his scent and she'd know it was him.

Lucian chuckled gently and started to reply, to tell her where to find the type of trinkets she was looking for when he was cut off. She bounded off into the crowd searching for her 'shiny things.' Lucian watched with a puzzled but amused expression as she started leaping on the heads of the people in the crowd. He sighed, shaking his head as he made his way through the crowd after her.
She had seemed anxious when she first came through the teleporter. It was probably due to her physical appearance. Though Lucian did not seem t oknow why she would be anxious about that. He had seen far worse pass through the halls of the Academy. Then again she had probably been teased quite a bit for her appearance by people not used to dealing with anyone of a magical or unique quality. Despite himself Lucian even found himself adimitting that she was actually quite attractive. He chuckled as he continued to push his way through the crowd, maybe it was the ears and the tail...there was something exotic almost about her. Lucian pushed those thoughts back for now, he hardly knew her. Though making judgements about her physical appearance hardly seemed deserving of reprimand. Perhaps he would allow it this one time, she was attractive, he would be lieing if he said he thought otherwise.
"I see you've found what you were looking for. I take these are shiny enough?" he asked with a faintly amused grin as he stepped up beside her at the stall. The merchandise on display was certainly shiny but lucky for him it was not too expensive. At least playing hero for once would not cost him an arm and a leg....literally or figuratively.

Mirei smiled softly at the words and snickered a little. "Hey, what took you so long hmm?" she asked, turning to look at him then sticking out her tongue. Her head turned back towards the jewels and trinkets set before her, her eyes wide and scanning through every one of them. 'Cha-ching!' she thought, pressing the sharp nail from her index finger on her bottom lip. Simple marvelous. And she wouldn't pay a single penny!
"Yup, I know which ones I'll take." she exclaimed, bringing her hand down and snatching...four objects. She brought her hands behind her and quickly slipped the forth jewel between her sash and kimono, then brought her hands up and showed the three objects in her paws. "A necklace with a lovely amethyst charm, a bracelet with many little stones aaaand this lovely little butterfly broche!" she exclaimed happily. Her tail wiggled a bit, then set itself up with a curve.
Her eyes looked towards the merchant, smiling sweetly towards him and snickering internaly. 'Heh heh heh, what a sad sap.' she thought. Hey, when you can get more, you get more right? And this little missy was an ace at thievery. What would an extra golden bracelet do? Noothing as long as that shop keeper was as unobservant as Mirei thought. 'One sucker after another'
She looked towards Lucian and smiled, brushing her short hair away a little before putting on the bracelet, necklace and broche and betting her eyelashes. "Soo? Does this make me look pretty?" she asked with a wink before she laughed and placed her hands on her hip. 'Hurry up and pay so I we can ska-doodle away. It's only a matter of time until the idiot notices the missing good' she thought, not changing her exterior expression one bit.
Mirei truly was, a Cat Burglar.

Lucian watched her carefully as she picked out the items that she had wanted. They were all very shiny and Lucian chuckled at how predictable she was when it came to shiny things. Lucian noticed her quickly and discreetly slip a fourth item into the her kimono. He did not say anything only shook his head, hiding a smirk. If he had not been paying attention he would not have been able to see the swift and rather sneakily clever move. He was absolutely sure that the shopkeeper had not seen it either.
"They look exquisite on you Lady Greye," he said with a chuckle as he paid for the things, "Now let us take our leave," he said as he promptly turned and started through the crowd. He did not turn to see if she would follow, she most likely would. Knowing her should would not resist the opportunity to try and gain more shiny things through him.

"Why thank you" she smirked looking towards the shop keeping as Lucian paid and then finally it was time to go, as Lucian suggested. She watched him go a little, turning to see the shop keeper put away the money and taking this chance to swipe a necklace more with her tail. She hid it with the other stolen good and started to walk back casually towards Lucian's direction.
After a moment, she picked up speed and ran to catch up with him. "Waiit!" she called, going infront of him and smiling softly. "Thanks for the stuff! Here..." she pulled out the necklace and took his hand, setting the pricey object into his palm. "I swiped it for you." she smiled. Of course, this was Mirei's way of being nice and considerate to someone. Sure it was wrong but that's how it was. "You're prolly the first person who's ever actually bought me something, not counting my parents. So...I thought I'd get something for you..erm..to."
This was the first time she's given something to someone as a thank you. It had been a little awkward and Mirei couldn't help but lower her head and mutter a little. But in any case it was the thought that counted. She put on the bracelet she had stolen then looked around. "There's a lot of places here, hn?" she asked bringing her hand to her forhead to shield her eyes from the sun as she looked. Her other hand was placed on her hip.
"Excuse me young lady..." a man spoke, grasping her wrist with the stolen bracelet. "This looks an aweful lot like the bracelet I had ordered to be made for my wife. It's one of a kind..." he said. Mirei looked at him angrily, her tail swishing and her ears perked down. "Yeah so? It just so happens I got one that looks like it. And?" The man looked at her skeptically and flipped the bracelet around where a mesage was inscribed. "To Lauren, my dearest." "I'm no fool child. You were at the stand a few seconds ago and the message is proof enough..."
Mirei sighed softly. "Well in that case let's rumble old man..." she said softly. She grabbed his arm which held her wrist, twisted under in order to twist his arm and brought his arm folded to his back. She applied pressure upwards in order to cause enough discomfort and making him lean forth. Her foot was brought up, setting it gently on his behind before kicking forth and letting his arm go. The man, needless to say, tumbled forth and Mirei hissed. "Back to the trash can you came from Spooky."
Her eyes set upon Lucian as she stuck out her tongue. "Sorry, Spark, I get comfronted like that all the time. Not that I blame them all, but still. Let's go. Spooky over there will get up any second"

Lucian turned around and then felt a necklace being placed in his hands. Undoubtably one of the things she had stolen while he was paying for the things that she now legitmately owned. He smiled at the thought and sentimet behind it. Regardless of being stolen she had actually thought of him when she stole it with the intent of giving to him as a gift in thanks for what he had given her. This was one of the rare times that Lucian actually ever gave someone a full smile.
"You're more than welcome Mirei," he said with a nod, "Between you and me you're the only person besides my parents who's ever given me a gift," he said with a soft chuckle, "Despite the fact that it's stolen I appreciate the sentiment," he said as he clasped the necklace around his neck and tucked it under his shirt for safekeeping.
Lucian sighed as a man approached and began questioning Mirei about one of her bracelets. He shook his head with a smirk he figured she probably stole more than one thing. What he did not know was what she had stolen was a one of a kind custom made piece. He shook his head as she knocked the man down.
"Come on let's get out of here," he said, grabbing her head as he darted through the crowd, pulling her in tow. He ducked into an alleyway and flattened himself against the wall, pulling her close against him to keep them out of sight. There was the sounds of footsteps as several men, undoutably either in the employ of the man from whom the item had been stolen or passerbys lending a helping hand, ran by, "Well that was certainly close," he said looking down at her with a grin. There was a faint blush on his cheeks as he realized how close they were.
