Their food arrived and it smelled heavenly. The scent wafted up and she inhaled it softly closing her eyes for a moment. She savored every moment she could and right now this was a new experience and a new one to savor.
"No please, treat me normal. You treat royalty differently than we do in the Faerie forest. To us they are more like the respect you humans may show your parents or ancestors. So please, treat me as an equal, I am not really one for the royal activities." she said with a smile.
She placed her napkin in her lap folded nicely and grabbed her fork in her left hand. She speared a piece of chicken and began to eat slowly. Her eyes lit up brightly as she looked up at him.
"It is amazing!" she said excitedly. "I have never tasted anything like it!"

Corsair nodded and chuckled. "Nice to know. I like a more relaxed mood when with people." he said and smiled at her reaction. "Clearly you haven't had this type of food before. Well eat up. It's alll good. this is my favorite place." he said and started eating his own food. he decided to remain silent for the meal so they could eat without intteruptions.
He waited until she was done and grinned as he pulled out the money to pay for the food and also about five bucks for the tip. "Well how about we head outside." He said getting up and politely helped her out of her chair

She ate in silence but she didn't mind in the least. She in fact enjoyed just tasting the food and enjoying the company. It was nice the silence. It wasn't one of those awkward ones. She ate her meal with all the proper manners and only as much as she could. She was not used to eating too much food. She tended to eat periodically all day instead of only three times with big portions.
She looked up at him as she finished. There was still some left on her plate and she only hoped the he didn't think her rude for leaving some. But if so she would explain.
"Sure, I would love to go outside. Truth is I feel a bit more at home out in the sunlight." she said with a cute smile as she got up as he helped her up and she took his hand this time instead of his arm so he could lead her.

Corsair didn't fail to notice the difference in he grip. but he also didn't mind in the least as he led her outside. He was glad the sun was out in full after what she told him. They walked for a bit and eventually came to a less crowded place.
Corsair had a thought on his mind for a while and eventually stopped and looked Midori in her emerald like eyes with his own piercing blue ones. "So Midori. I know we just met and it's a bit sudden. But I was wondering. I don't know if you heard about the prom. But I was wondering that if there wasn't anyone ese you planned to go with... Well I'd like very much to have you come along with me." He said with a smile. He had been working up to asking this question he had almost forgetten about her promise to show him her wings.

They walked through the city at a leisurely pace. She was enjoying herself and the sun beamed down on her just right. She was so happy here. Even though she wasn't surrounded by trees she was still as happy as ever. She missed her home, sure but this was her new home for now.
Her hand was in Corsair's and she couldn't help but smile at that. It seemed a bit less formal yet more meaningful. So it was to her in the least she didn't know what it meant to him. And she was not about to ask.
They came to a less crowded part of the city and Corsair came to a stop. Curiously she looked up at him wondering what it was that he wanted. He seemed nervous maybe? She wasn't sure but she was listening. She listened carefully and when he had finished a bright and cute smile crossed her face.
"I would love to attend the prom with you." she said happily. "I feel honored you asked me. Thank you."
She smiled even bigger and blushed a bit at her own excitement. She kinda wanted to hug him but she held back. She was still unclear on a lot of these human emotions. Sometimes it seemed that things were alright and others it wasn't and so she didn't want to do something stupid.
"I will have to go dress shopping after our get together here." she said not wanting to call it a date if it wasn't one. Man! She never thought she'd feel so ignorant.

Corsair could tell this was a happy moment for the both of them even if awkward. But he felt that was okay. He had been with a few girls over the years but she sent somthing through him the others never did. It's her honesty. The open honesty and the sense of innocence. He thought.
He setteld for taking her other hand in his own. "Thank you for accepting my offer. I wanted to go but not alone." He said with a smile. he let go of her hands. "I was wondering If I could see the wings now. You said they are rather unique and the curiousity is nearly killing me." He said.

He took both her hands and she blushed looking up at him as he expressed his mutual excitement over going to the prom with her. She giggled and she just couldn't help but feeling rather excited that she was getting to go at all.
He then asked to see her wings. She had long since completely forgotten that she had even told him about them. Muchless that she intended to show them. Yet she would because he asked and she had a prom date, A PROM DATE!!
"Sure." she said as he let go of her hands.
She didn't make any movements. It was more of an internal muscle push and her green wings came out of her back from her shoulder blades. They looked like really long feathers instead of angel wings or perhaps bird wings. And they weren't the faerie wings most expected nor were they butterfly wings. They were her very own wings.
"And there they are." she said with a deep red blush as she fluttered them slightly for him the muscles in her back moving with them. "You can touch if you like."
((wings as shown in the siggie))

Corsair's eyes opened wide and his mouth dropped open slightly in awe as he reached up and took his shades off. He hadne't ever seen anything like this. he barely noticed her blushing. He was glad for her permission to touch them as his first instinct was to stroke them lightly and with such permission he did just that. "Why do you hide these?" He asked slightly breathless from what he had just seen happen.

His shades were off and his touch came. She shivered slightly from the touch as no one had ever touched them before. It was just a normal occurance in faerie but here it was something special. She liked his hands on her wings though. It made shivers run up and down her spine. When he asked her why she hid them she blushed even more.
"I hide them I guess because most of my ancestors were not allowed to show their wings. Because it was not accepted of course. If I was not attending this academy it would be necessary. If you like, I would leave them out for you today." she said with another blush.
"And perhaps at prom if you are lucky." she chuckled. "But I suppose I could show them more. It wouldn't be so strange here I imagine. You seem to like them anyway." she said with a smile.

"If you would leave them for the day I would like that very much." he said still enraptured. He at least understood the reasons for her hiding them now. "Well with the majority of the world I can understand the reasons to keep them hidden. But hee at the Academy and in this city I don't think thats the same. Everyone here knows about the magic win the world and the different aspects of it." He said then looked back into her eyes. "And yes I like them very much. They suit you perfectly." He added smiling.

There was something about the look in his eyes that made her smile. She looked up at him and took his hand again. She liked holding his hand there was something about it that made he both blush and her heart race at the same time.
"If I leave them out for the rest of the day, then would you leave off your sunglasses. Where my wings are breathtaking your eyes do outshine my wings." she said and blushed deeply.
"So.. umm.. " the first time she had faltered. "Where to now?" she asked looking up into his amazingly beautiful eyes.

He smiled and put his shades in the pocket on the breast of his shirt. "Done deal." He said chuckeling and accepted her hand and they started walking then she asked where they should go. "Well Lets see. We could go find cloths for the prom. I need to pick up something nice for the occasion. And you need a dress. That way we could get things that go well together." He said thoughtfully

She looked up at him and smiled. So here they were wings and eyes bare walking down the street on the first day they had met. She couldn't help but realize how much fun she was having and in a city too.
"Allright, that sounds fine. I think you just want to see my dress before tomorrow night." she teased. "But fair enough, one day shall not make much difference."
The city was rather busy but it wasn't too bad. She was full and she loved the sun and the company. She was definatly not ready to return home yet and so anything he wanted to do in the city or academy before parting for the night would most likely come to fruition.
"I like this city. Perhaps it is that I do not have to hide. Or perhaps it is the company. Yet, regardless, it is a nice place to live, I must admit." she said softly.

"I don't JUST want to see it before the dance. Event though seeing it will help with something." He said smiling as they walked through the city. He listend to her speak about how she was liking the fact she didn't have anything she needed to hide here. "Yeah from what I can tell the city is a great place. Just like the academy." he said as they rounded a corner. About two more blocks down there was a place seeling suits and dresses. "Hmm looks like this is the right place." He said as he opened the door letting Midori go in first.

She couldn't help but chuckle at the emphasis he placed on the words in his phrase. She looked up at him at the last part of his comment.
"What else does it help?" she asked as they made the last two blocks together.
The dresses and tuxes in the window were seen soon enough and Cor, his new nickname she thought, had told her the place looked good. Good enough for her in any light as this was her first experience with this kind of thing and she was going to have to play it by ear.
"Allright then, let the torture begin!" she giggled as they stepped up to the shop. Time to pick out a dress.
