"Ok, I see. What an intresting race, they seem to be intellectual, which could mean that they've got their own civilisations. But of course they'd need to be pack animals for something like that, just like humans. You do know that humans are pack animals, right?"
It had been a slight miscalculation from his side asking about them. His target was this woman so he decided to change the subject, trying to cover his mistake as much as possible. Hopefully she hadn't noticed. He'd better take it more slowly and try to befriend her and her animals before he did something with any of them.
"I'm actually getting quite hungry. May I tempt you with some lunch?"

Talbot closed her eyes for a moment, remembering mannerizms and such from a while back. He was changing the subject, he knew he had said the wrong thing- good. It was good someone could catch onto their mistakes, though his was greed infused. She took this moment to center herself and find a balance to seveal bits to her world. But the word 'tempt' came to eaisily from his lips, she caught onto the undertone. When she opened her eyes, she smiled, "How about I treat you to lunch instead?"

"How nice of you, but only if you insist. I'm not used to be treated by beautifull women, I usually treat you myself. But as you wish, where would you prefer to eat? Since it's you who treat?"
That wasn't the answer he had been expecting. She was getting cautious and that was really bad. He had to make sure not to overdo things at once. She's a really perceptive woman. He actually kind of liked it. Taking a target down was much more entertaining if there was a game to it. He was going to make sure that he played this one out.

Talbot smiled, chittered to Ardo, Mikon and Zula- the three elemental mice moved from their snack with promise of a new- tastier one to come. Ardo waddled out front of Talbot as Mikon picked up Zula and flew her to Talbot's shoulder. Zula slid into Talbot's pocket and Talbot smiled, "I believe there is a shop just down the street which serves the most wonderful thai."

"Sounds great. It's been ages since I ate thai last. Ladies first."
As he said the last part he also bowed, making a gesture for he to walk first. This was going to take time. Maybe long time. But if he had anything it was time. He had several lifetimes and the longer he stayed with one business or affair the more fun it was to ruin it all. This was no exception so he was going to enjoy every last moment he could get from it. He'd wait with the tempting tounge for later. Maybe just use it for some trivial matter, maybe for her soul. But he had to be carefull since she was so alert. And those little pests of hers was even worse. Maybe he could sell them to a lab afterwards. But for now thai was the most evil thing avaible. But, he thought, if you throw a snowball down the right hill you get an avalance.

Ardo began swinging his tail, it would hit the ground from time to time and with this Talbot walked without issue. She gave directions in the series of clicks and chitters. It was Zula, hopping out of Talbot's pocket and sitting on the shoulder closest to Mr Ketsuki who seemed to be the only discontent one at the moment- Ardo preoccupied with his sheparding and Mikon floating above head on the warm currents of the air- Zula puckered her whiskars and wiggled her ears, azure eyes glittering in curiosity.

Ketsuki joined up with them as soon as she passed him and watched the little thing on her shoulder. It would've been cute if he'd still been an angel. He was very happy that he wasn't. Angels were to kind hearted, he'd experienced it himself ages ago. This was better. As he walked he also thought about how far he'd need to go to get her where he wanted, and how far he'd go before he sank it all. It could take years with such a smart girl. But if he was lucky he'd get it within months. But it didn't matter to him. It was still plenty of time until the doomsday and he had nothing special to do until then.
As they entered the restaurant he realised that it actually was a long time ago since he last ate thai. About 350 years or so. He'd been on a trip there to try starting a war or something like that. Good old times.

Ardo thwapped the door open with his tail, Talbot stepping in as the smells of mushroom tom yum and giant noodle rolls flooded out the door. Mikon folded his wings and dove into Talbot's sleeve, his wings poking out as he descided to take a nap. Ardo waddled to a table, Talbot reached out and took Mr Ketsuki's wrist and followed Ardo with ease. This allowed Zula to hop to Mr Ketsuki's arm and up his shoulder, she perched there and squeaked happily for she liked being up high and Mr Ketsuki was certainly up higher.

Ketsuki smiled at the litttle pest as if he liked it being on his shoulder. He followed Talbot into the restaurant and they got themselfes a table. He sat down and read the menu.
Great, just what I need. Lice.
Then he looked at Talbot and thought about how she would handle the menu, since he hadn't seen anything in blind writing. And then he realised that she might want to get her seeing back. Many humans only wish was to get rid of their handicaps and injuries. And being blind should be a major problem, at least compared to seeing.
"Uhm... How're you going to handle the menus? Do you want me to read it for you?"

(( Zula is a girl >.< ))
Talbot smiled, sitting with ease- though it was different not having someone pull a chair out for her. Having heard Mr Ketsuki's proposal Talbot shook her head, blonde curls shining softly, "No thank you, Mr Ketsuki. Luckily, I have a photographic memory. Thank you for asking though."
A waiter came by, taking drink order- Talbot requested tea and both waiter and Talbot looked at Ketsuki.
Zula squeaked and nuzzled under Mr Ketsuki's chin, he was so nice for not freaking out. And to her sensitive lttle nose, he smelled like burned gingerbread- her favorite.

((I know. Ketsuki thinks of her as an 'it' though.))
"I'll take some tea to, thank you."
Then he recognized the waiter as someone he'd done businesses with before. He thought it was quite convenient and if he played his cards right he might be able to trick the girl to say if his guess was correct. But then that little things on his shoulder became even more annoying but he managed to ignore it and say:
"Now I remember you. We've met before, right? How's your wife now? Any better?"
The man looked confused for a moment but then he seemed to remember.
"Yes, certainly. She's up and playing with the kids again. I never got the time to say thanks for those meds you gave us."
Ketsuki smiled warmly and replied:
"Hey, no problems. I wish I could help more people like that."
Once again he didn't lie so there were nothing that even the sharpest person would have picked up. He really did wish tht he could help people in exchange for their souls more often. Then the waiter turned back to Talbot.
"Is this your girlfriend? You picked a nice place to eat then. You know what? It'll be on me today. As a way to thank you. I'll be right back with the tea."
Then the waiter hurried back to get some tea.

"It sounds like you're quite the helpful person, Mr Ketsuki. It must be a wonderful feeling to help people and to see them progress in their lives," as she spoke, Talbot stretched out a hand, towards Mr Ketsuki, exposing the ivory flesh of her arm and sharing the scent of sage and spun sugar. Zula, after pressing her little mousy nose to Mr Ketsuki's cheek- just a little mousie kiss- sprang to Talbot's hand, crawled up her arm and dove into a pocket, only peeking out to watch the gingerbread man with her deep ocean eyes.
The waiter returned and set the tea down, quickly asking about meal requests. Talbot smiled, "The mango salad and bamboo shoot yum, please."

"I haven't tried that one yet. I'll take the same. Thank you by the way."
Ketsuki said as a responce to the waiters question. Then he turned back to Talbot and saw that little rat peek out of her pocket. Strange, normally he'd eaten it if he had been in his snake shape. But this little fellow seemed to look at him as if he was edible. Maybe they were worse than they looked. Doubtably. Then he began to speak again.
"You have no idea how nice it feels. My speciality about that is medicin, to help people recover and prolong their lifes. But I do all sorts of things. Maybe you would like some help with those eyes? I think that I could fix them up if I get enough time."
Then he drank some of his tea. This was an important responce, if it was a yes he'd have her soul within a year or two. He was capable of staying calm, but it was a real exercise.

Zula shyed back into the sleeve and curled up, she being a young mouse needed her rest and she was full of apple as it was. Ardo thwapped his tail on the floor, causing the building to shake, Talbot took some bread off the table and handed it to the impatient earth mouse, "Patience is a virtue, Ardo. I'll give you pleanty of my order just behave for now." Ardo nodded and sat under Talbot's chair, devouring the bread with a greedy flourish.
Talbot's blind eyes focused on Mr Ketsuki and his inquiry. He offer to help her see- but there was something about the undertones in his calm voice which still put her one edge. Offering her smiled, her eyes closing halfway, "As much as I appreciate the offer, Mr Ketsuki- I want to see what time on my own will bring. Please do not focus on my disability so closely."
Her tone became harsh, "For though your casualness is appreciated- you may find most women are self concious enough about this and that. And I would appreciate if you back off my small impairment."

"I must apologize if I have offended you once again. I'm sorry for being so focused on your eyes there. I must admit that I have a fondness for women and that I enjoy helping you more than anything else. But I can understand you reasoning. Let's eat now and forgett it for now."
The last part was said as the waiter came over to their table with their orders. This had been a huge miscalculation. He hadn't expected her to be this sharp and now he had made it worse. Now he had to repair it from below sqare one. This time he'd try to use better materials. Other peoples souls just let you climb to a certain hight just to let you fall again, apparently.
