"To fathers that the world could have done without!" Grey chimed in, toasting Zacharia with his own whiskey. "Had I only killed my own when I had the chance" Grey's father had been among the most despicable off all the people he had known, an abusive, violent and heartless man who had thoguht of nothing but himself and his own desires.
Grey had fled from his home when he was young, and when he returned almost five years later he found that his father had burnt down their house, and taken Grey's mother with him, both of them burning to death in the flames. This had been the point where Gregory had died and Grey had been born, although he didn't call himself that until many years later.
Grey downed his whiskey and poured himself annother one. His own pain was solid, he could do nothing to shake now, so many years after. But if there was anything he could do here he would, it would serve to relive at least some pain. but he thought it only fair that he told his story, now that he had recieved his drinking buddy's tale. "My father, may he forever burn in hell, torched our house once he heard that I was coming home, rather than letting me save my mother from his soulless greed" Grey knocked back the whiskey, attemtping to drown the feeling of helplesness and sorrow, but he knew that it wouldn't help

We are not so different from the humans. They battle, they wage wars, they argue, they destroy. But, they also love and care for one another, as I do you Zach. You can't put a blanket over all demons and call them evil. The same applies to all creatures.
Only Rasha and his mother called him Zach. His father thought it childish to be called by anything other than your full name. It was a sign of affection, or teasing in Rasha's case (she had called him Zachey on a few occasions). It was taught to him to be strong, and strong names gained respect. However, his mothers words still sounded in his mind as they often did when the situation reminded him of something she said. Yes, she was right. Humans were not so different. Just as demons were misunderstood here in the mortal realm, so was it that humans were misunderstood back home.
This boy seated next to him was not so different, even having a father who had done him a great wrong. Though Zacharia only had to deal with a stern father, to his knowledge he had done nothing that had earned him that strong of a hatred. However, it did give the two something to bond over, and Zacharia, though very new to this, was somewhat enjoying the company.
He still wasn't sure if it was the alcohol effecting him, or just that he really did enjoy the company. Either way, he had no more desire to ask to be left alone. He realized that he hadn't introduced himself to the boy.
"By the way, I am Zacharia Sephanos. So, who might you be?"

Grey nodded when the guy spoke his name, it was always good to know who you were with. He put down his glass to offer Zacharia's his hand. "I'm Greg..." Grey almost said his real name, a name that he hadn't called himself by for decades. Maybt it was because he felt a kinship with the guy, through their loss? Maybe it was because the guy hadn't rejected his questions?
"I'm Grey, nice to meet you." He said as he offered his hand to the guy, not sure that he would be able to pronounce his name probably. "You also a student here? What you do?" Grey knew it was not good manners, but he needed to take his mind off the pain that burned in his chest. It had a tendency of giving him an increased urge to kill

"Well, I am here to learn. I'd like to become more powerful so I can take my rightful place at home. As for what I do, I use a form of magic passed down from father to son since my family created it. But, my you can't rely on magic, and so I have become quite competent with this." He held his cape to the side, showing the sword strapped to his back. "It is a custom blade, the Vorpal Edge." He let the cape fall back into place and gave a smile. "If I had been there that day, Whatever was responsible for Rasha's death would have faced that very blade."
He refused to believe that she had just fallen from the cliff, as was reported. But, after searching for her for five long years, he could only believe she had perished. Yet, he thought it was at the hands of some creature or another demon, and that only enraged him at the time. He was known back home for his fierce way of fighting. He was relentless, and made sure his opponent suffered before he ended their life. he only wished that he could have had the chance to do so with Rasha's executioner.
"So, I pose the same to you. However, there is also something else." He leaned in, a hushed tone to keep others out. He also spoke in his native language, just for added measure. "I know you are not human. You have a human appearance, true. But, no human holds the same aura. It vexes me a bit. So, Grey, care to tell me?"

Grey nodded at the openness and the truth, appreciating both. but when Zacharia leaned in and whispered in that funny language, he couldn't help but to laugh, closing his eyes as he leaned his head into his palm. "Sorry mate, I'm just not used to all the secrecy. But it is appreciated" He assured with a wave of his hand, his other tipping down yet another whiskey. He looked around quickly to make sure that nobody were looking, which they were due to his laugh, but they turned there eyes away from his as he knew they would. Reaching a finger up to the left side of his lower lip and pulled down, revealing one of his fangs.
"That's pretty much it, the big secret" He grinned, hoping that the guy wouldn't be able to sense the tormented souls in his blood. That would be a major party-killer, unless the guy was a complete sadist. Grey lifted his bottle up and tipped it from side to side to ensure that his assumption was right. " 'Scuse me?" He adressed the bartender, who was presently serving another costumer. "Could we have another bottle, I think this one's empty?" This was going to be an expensive night, but he didn't care. The company had so far been well worth it

Zacharia smiled. "I knew there was something about you. Your aura was not that of a human's. Your neither alive, nor dead. You are a mortal immortal. Forgive me for being rude. Your kind is an interesting breed, and you seem more interesting than most."
He felt a kinship with the immortal, and he was happy now for the company. "You know, I had half a mind to drag you outside before. I was hoping to drown my pain. But, I think I made the right decision. Your a good drinking partner." Yup... the alcohol had caught up to the demon. Even he couldn't drink that much without feeling the effects. He was now laughing with little ability to stop. He did know that he should probably strop though.
"Perhaps I have had a bit too much. Maybe it would be best for me to turn in. I will have to meet with you again, Grey." He stood up, stumbled, then bowed to his new friend. "If you attend the academy, look me up. I am rooming alone, so don't worry about dropping by." He stagged to the door, and headed back to his room. He dare not fly, for he would probably get himself tangled in a tree. No, he would walk, until he finally crashed on his bed, passed out with a smile on his face.

Grey smiled with his new... drinking buddy, enjoying the company, the booze and the night. He didn't know the nature of his... company, but he didn't really care either.
"Cheers friend" Grey smiled at Zacharia's compliment, holding his glass up to cheer him, but he seemed to be on his way out. Grey, not seeing a point in drinking any longer, at least not alone, followed him outside and clapped him goodbye on his shoulder before they parted ways. Grey's Irish genes gave him a considerable alcohol tolerance and combined with his vampiric resilence and several decades of drinking left him more tolerant than most.
"You look me up too, in case I don't get to." He had been drinking what would have been death to most mortal men, and he was feeling unsure on his legs abd his words. "Remember, Grey. Sleep well, Sakrya" He saluted his... friend? Yes, they were friends, at least for this one night. A moment of rest within lifetimes of hostility, and Grey had learned to treasure those. They were the only thing that kept him going. Turning on his heel he dissapeard into the night, melding with darkness. He had already fed, but he just felt like patrolling the streets. Maybe he could prevent some pain from being inflicted on someone this icy night?
