"Hide them? They suit you, I think. Still, in New York, I'd imagine they would draw unwanted negative attention. That's all in the past now though right?" Mint orders the slushies (strawberry for Roy, and cherry for her) and pays the vendor.
"...grags?" What a weird-sounding thing! Mint laughs a little at the sound of it. "No, I've never even heard of them; what are they like?" This Inoa place sounded quite intriguing already. She hands Roy his drink and points over at some small tables with umbrellas that are set up nearby.

"Umm....thank you for the slushie..."
Roy wasn't accustomed to having people buy things for him. At all. His cheecks were tinged with red again.
"Well, Grags are a variety of monster that make thier lair near Inoa village. They're huge, green, warty monsters. They look kind of like the Orcs you see in those Lord of the Rings movies."
Roy remembered his "Coming of Age", where at the age of fifteen, he had fought, and beaten, a Grag with his bare hands. He had recieved a few nasty scars on his chest from that one.
"There are also thier allies, the Lizardmen, who fight along with them. They look just like they sound, really. Along with fire-breathing turtles, slime creatures, and the odd demon, not much else happens there."
Roy reached behind his waist, and adjusted his ponytail, which had getten caught in his belt again. It hung down past the back of his knees, and was getting a little long. He diddn't really care though.
"Thanks....."

(OOC: Sorry about the delay! Busy day!)
"Oh, no problem!" Mint says in response to his thanks, with a smile. Was he blushing? Perhaps I'm scarier than I thought I was.
Mint absolutely goggles at Roy's explanation about Grags and Lizardmen and a variety of other terrible-sounding creatures that apparently plagued Roy's place of origin.
"Goodness! Where I'm from, the most you see in the wilderness are squirrels and birds!" The whole thing sounds a bit scary, or at least it definitely would be scary from a child's perspective. "Was that hard to deal with?"
Mint sips at her drink and looks at Roy thoughtfully, and her now dark teal irises betray her pensive state of mind. What kind of person is produced by such an environment? She has a feeling that there's a lot more to this pointy-eared, occasionally stuttering man than could be perceived at first glance.

((OOC: It's ok, I understand. I can get an hour a day at MOST on weekdays >.>))
"Not really, Inoa is home to a lot of tough people. With the Seers in my family able to predict when they were going to attack, we had plenty of time to build up a defense."
Roy sipped at his drink, careful not to drink it too fast. Brain-freeze was twice as bad for a seer.
"It was never really a big deal, while Alundra was in Inoa. He was the greates warrior I ever laid eyes on. Any weapon, he cou;d weild like he was a master. He defended us for seven years, until he had to go back to the homeland that the elf clan of Elna resides in. He still writes me, though, even if the Elna shun me for being a half-blood. Although being a seer gets me an even bigger cold-shoulder from them."
Roy took another sip of his drink, and noticed that her eyes were DEFINITELY shifing colors.
"After my uncle left, things started to get a little worse, but we managed. Jess, the blacksmith of the village, along with a bunch of the townspeople, formed a millitia to fend off the omnsters. They do just as good a job as my uncle Alundra did."
Then Roy realized how long he'd been talking. A full five minutes. "Oh.....jeez. I'm sorry, I'm talking too much."
