Lucian smiled a little more brightly as he saw the smile on her face after he kissed her. She liked it, she was not freaking out or shoving him away or scrambling away crying but she was smiling and giggling and nuzzling into him. To be honest he was a little caught off guard for a second but he recovered, smiling more brightly and warmly now. He looked down at the young blonde and could not stop smiling; things were certainly going better for him than he had hoped. He did not realize that she was going to wake up at the kiss; maybe just maybe, he really was closer to her than he thought. Now if only he could work up the courage to confess his love to her. Maybe, just maybe he could at least be there for her in place of Jonathan, not to replace him or take his spot just as a filler until the two of them could meet again in the great beyond. He just wanted the girl to know that he loved her and maybe she would love him back.
He smiled down at her as he kept stroking her hair. There was nothing but love and caring in his eyes as he held her and he wanted her to know how much he loved and cared for her. He wanted to be the one she came to for love and support, the shoulder she could lean on when she was weary and needed strength. He wanted her to know that she did not have to be strong alone, that he was here to help her be strong. Lucian smiled and leaned down to kiss her again, this one had more of the feelings that he felt unable to express in words behind it. He cupped her cheek as he pressed his lips gently against hers and then pulled away slowly, relishing the sweet flavor of her lips, “Maddie…” he whispered softly as he stroked her cheek, looking down at her with a warm loving smile. This was the girl he had nearly run over when they had met, that seemed like an eternity ago. Now, now they were the closest of friends and he dearly and sorely loved her and cared for her and just wanted her to know that. But he felt unable to confess his feelings for her in the wake of the death of the man she cherished even in death. Lucian simply felt inadequate having to try and fit into her life after the man she loved so much had died.

He smiled at the cute boy. "Well, I am glad your healing. But, you need to take better care of yourself. I don't like seeing the ones I am close to getting hurt, especially if I am no where around to help." He smiled. "But, genius boy, it seems like you have two nominations, mine and Keiko's. Congrats! If you are wondering what for, I'll tell you. Turns out that the team's strategist is no longer with us, for whatever reason. When they asked who anyone though would be good for the role, I immediately thought of you. it seems I wasn't the only one." He winked at Keiko and continued. "Your bright, you have the experience from the military, and you know your strategies. I don't know many of the other people here, but I do know you, and I trust you would fit that post. You just need to be as confident in yourself as we are in you."
Trevor gave him a smile. "I wish I could hang out later, but it seems I have a date. Well, sort of anyway. I finally get to learn wind magic. I have wanted to learn since I got here, but the books i read on it were confusing. Now it seems like I have a teacher, and a beautiful one at that." He smiled. "Unfortunately, it also seems like she is engaged to a jealous and overbearing duelist who wants to take me out. I only just met her, and apparently talking to her set him off." He shook his head, that smile still on his face. "I don't understand some people. He even had the nerve to roughly handle her like she was some property of his. Had she not laid into him, I might have gotten thrown out for challenging him here."
He let out a laugh. "But, that's not the case. I am so glad you are both here. Looks like we are roommates, teammates, and good friends! I look forward to this. I am sure the three of us can handle whatever challenges we come across." He sat on the armrest of the chair they were seated on. "It's very good to see you both. I missed you guys."

"Allright, that is enough. I will make my decision with Phaedra and we together will chose the new leader for our military purposes. Thank you." she said softly
She pulled out a pad of paper and looked around the room checking off the people that had come into the meeting tonight. She wanted to make sure that she didn't miss anyone because it was important who had and had not come. She finished that and looked at all the members.
"Next order of business is training spars. Remember we are not just here to say we are defending but we are here to make sure we can defend. So, who would like to sign up for a spar. If you can tell me what you might like to work on that would be great. If not, I will assign you another partner to work with and then we will begin our training. So... volunteers?" she asked softly.

Lexi felt Xavier jolt when she mentioned his name. She chuckled. Gotta keep a man on his toes. She leaned into him and smirked softly as he was getting over his shock. He leaned forward and asked her why in the world she would nominate him and she turned to look at him. Love filled her eyes and she smiled and leaned in kissing him once quick but softly.
"Because you are the only person I know. You have a strong heart and a strong will. You'd be good, because I'd kick your ass when you weren't" she said with a smirk trying to be supportive but also trying to still be herself.
She lay her head on Xavier's shoulder gently and listened as the meeting continued on. The blonde chick, Ziare, was calling the meeting back to order again, and asking if anyone wanted to sign up for fighting spars. That peeked Lexi's interest. Fighting? Yeah she'd sign up.
"I would. Lex Giovanni." she said volunteering herself first. Trying to at least put forth some effort into this stupid thing Xavier had dragged her into.

Brandon sighed inwardly, then put up his hand. He knew it almost certainly would be an excellent method of gathering data, but the reason he sighed was because he knew how much he needed the exercise. Jonathan had been right when he said that, but then again Jonathan always said it. "Brandon Thomas, armed or unarmed close quarters" He added, just to make sure he didn't end up in an unpleasant situation. He considered himself decent at both, but he was far from excellent.
He threw another gaze in the direction of Celeste and her boyfriend, inwardly furious. Celeste was his friend, and people who hurt his friends made what little blood he had left boil. He couldn't call in his friends from NY to help him with the payback, there was too much political nonsense in the way. Then again, he would prefer to do, whatever was going to happen himself, although he would have to carefully plan his approach when he was on his own.

Trevor hear the word spar, and he perked up. He listened to the two volunteers. Now, this just got more interesting. "Trevor Tadaria, swordplay and dueling, one one one and against multiple opponents." His light and friendly voice sounded out, announcing his choice to volunteer. Those were his specialties. He was eager to prove his worth among his fellow teammates for one. Since he himself would be learning magic later, he wanted to prove he had some value now.
Well, that was the first reason. The other was he was hoping to put Darien in his place. Duelists could recognize each other by the way they sized each other up. He didn't like how Darien treated Shea a few minutes ago, and he was hoping the he would volunteer to spar. He smiled broadly at the thought. He seems like a good challenge, too. Should prove to be fun!
He turned to his two closest friends. "Looks like we get to have some fun. I wonder who else will join. Train, Keiko... why don't the two of you volunteer? I would love to she what the two of you can do! Train, after what you told me about alchemy, I would enjoy watching you use it! Keiko, truthfully, I don't even know what your talent is. But, this would give me a chance to learn, right? What do you say? Come one... it'll be fun!"
Trevor loved a good match. He was no fan of pain, but he did enjoy a good challenge. He never got to see Train or Keiko in action, and this would be the perfect opportunity.
