*Every day was the same thing for me. Wake up at six, get dressed, eat, go to church, then off to school. At the moment, my black Ford Mustang drove down the street, my destination? Number four on my morning list, church.
I was a Christian, a devout one I might add, except for a few parts of the bible. I made time every day to pay my respects, even if it was an inconvenience.
My car, which I named Black Sunshine after a White Zombie song, stopped in front of the Christian church. I got out of the sleak beauty, locked her up, and went inside. I greeted the usual priests, knelt in front of the giant cross, and began praying.*

Kelsie had not been to church since attending the Arcane Academy, mainly because she hadn't figured there might be one here. Magic and church tended not to see eye to eye. But regardless she had asked one of the professors about where a church might be if there was one and had been directed to 'Our Saint's Worship Center'. It was a nice place she had heard but looks mattered little to a blind girl. And so dressed for church she had set out seeing that she had a bit of confessions to make and prayers to say.
Walking down the street, she went silently for the most part. Brandon wasn't a firm believer in the faith and so she didn't pressure him to come with her. The small tapping of her cane was all that was heard as she counted her paces before stopping in front of the large building. There were steps leading up to it, she hated steps but apparently sighted people loved them because they seemed to be everywhere. Using her cane to see how big and deep they were Kelsie climbed the steps and entered the church quietly. Her cane however still tapped as she had to find a seat or at least get to the front, she felt so much better being in a church now, like weights being lifted off her shoulders the further into the church she stepped.
Getting to the front she sat down for a moment on the pew in the front row. The cushions moved to take her weight and Kelsie spent a moment folding up her cane. She was dressed in a soft flowing white dress that hugged her bust but then fell away to her knees in soft flowing folds of fabric. Her platinum blonde hair hung loose and in it's waves down her back and she had the most beautiful crystalline sky blue eyes. They would be even more beautiful were they not staring blankly ahead. Still when her cane was beside her, she knelt just in front of the pew and hands clasped gently in front of her body she began to pray.

((OCC: Cool, a thread about church. Never thought anyone would do one! ) Raiden woke unreasonably early compared to all the other times he wakes up. It was strange to him why he woke up so early today. Well, Raiden didn't give it a second thought and soon found himself wandering the streets of Babylos. Raiden wandered for an hour or so before picking up the ringing of bells on his sensitive ears. Out of curiousity Raiden decided he'd go seek out the the source of the ringing. Raiden had to walk quite a ways though before finally reaching the place. It appeared to be a church, but frankly Raiden living in the East dudring the Edo period never heard of such a thing. So he had no idea this was even a church. Tilting his head side ways in curiousity Raiden wondered whether he should go in or not. Raiden saw a few other people walk in, but then looked nicely dressed. Raiden walked around without a shirt on, and wasn't exactly dressed for formal occasions. Well, none of that mattered to this demon so he enter regardless. As soon as Raiden stepped through the doors...it felt...strange... The place over all looked fine, but it seemed something was heavily waying down on his shoulders. It felt like his neck was being constricted. Raiden walked down the isle slowly trying to get a hold of himself. He frankly couldn't understand what this feeling was. To any other demon it would be common sense not to enter a holy place like this, but Raiden was still new to things and the church was one of them. Raiden got alittle closer to the front pues, but slowly came to a stop. The closer he got to the alter and the giant cross the harder it felt to breathe. Without wasting another second Raiden silently plopped down in the front pues. There was a girl sitting not to far from him and a guy kneeling at the front. Everyone was kneeling, but Raiden frankly couldn't find the strenght to do it at the moment. He clasped his chest in pain, but sat in silence. A disgruntled look was on his face.

*I didn't open my eyes as others arrived, as it would disrupt the flow of my prayers, but once I finished, I was glad to see who joined me so early.*
"E nomine Patris, et Fellis, et Spiritus Sanctis." I said, opening my eyes and pointing out the four ends of the cross with my hands, finishing the prayer in latin, as it should be done. With a Jester Grin as I called it, I looked to the others.
*One was quite the piece of eye candy, dressed in a large white dress with a face that would undo Medusa's stone curse. The other was a guy, just a few years younger than me from what I could tell.
I didn't want to disrupt them, so I sat down and waited, looking around. I saw a cane beside the young girl. Hmm... a cane... Two possibilities. One, she has a bad leg. Or two, she's blind. At this point, it was impossible to tell which, so I figured I'd wait.*

Kelsie heard another move in and it sounded like he was almost in pain. But she had not finished her prayer yet and she didn't want to be interupted in the middle. When she finished her prayer she crossed herself hearing the person that had been close by move. She waited til he passed and then her eyes opened and she moved gracefully her hair shifting in it's waving length that fell down to just the top of her hips. She smiled softly and crossed herself once more before she moved back to the front pew and she sat down once more gracefully. Her cane was allready folded and collapsed she took it and placed it in her lap.
"Good morning." she whispered to the man beside her. She could tell it was a man because of a few things. Firstly there was no scented perfume or shampoo. Secondly the way he walked he had a heaviness to his step.
Kelsie let her hands clasp together in her lap just over the top of her cane. Her eyes closed again but she wasn't praying she was just enjoying the feeling that church always seemed to bring. It always relaxed her and any stress that had come of the week and life. A tear rolled down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away before it could be seen so she hoped but as she wasn't sighted it wasn't likely she had accoplished that.

*I looked down at the girl who said 'good morning' and smiled, crossing one of my legs so it rested atop the other. God I hated church benches...*
"Good morning to you too." I said cheerfully, but in a hushed voice, so I would not disturb the other guy. "Nice to see people still attend church. What's your name?" I asked nicely. Yeah, she was a little young, and most likely had a boyfriend, but having another regular friend is something worth having.

Kelsie smiled softly at the voice that came from the pew beside her. She looked up as if staring forward her blue eyes were the color of the sky though they stared out unseeingly. Her pale delicate hands folded still in her lap as she blushed slightly, she really didn't talk to many people and she was a bit shy really.
"My name is Kelsie." she whispered to him the blush slightly deepening on her small pale cheeks. Her eyes closed for a moment, though it wasn't like it made much of a difference and then she turned to face the boy next to her. "And what of you, what is your name?" she asked quietly.
He was right though, it was nice to know that she wasn't the only person in the magical world that actually attended church and carried the faith with them. So many said how could you belive in something you can't see or have proof of. But then that was why it was called faith. You had to have faith in that unknown and would be rewarded later for not needing proof, for there was proof in life alone if you knew how to look for it.

Raiden glanced over and now noticed the guy who was at the alter in the front was no sitting in the front pew as well along with the girl. Raiden noticed the two began talking, and assumed the must know each other. Raiden sat in silence for a while keeping in mind the pressing feeling on his chest. Even though they both were talking in a hushed manner, Raiden was able to pick up what they were saying loud and clear. Raiden then heard on of them mention what this place might be called. Raiden still curious broke his silence and decided to ask them.
He turned to look and then and only uttered an, "Umm..." He turned away again simply because he chicken out of talking. Five seconds past and Raiden mentally pushed himself to say something. "Umm...did say this place is called a church...right?" he said in a timid manner. "Um...what's a church?" he said. Now, anyone could simply shout what an idiot! But it couldn't be helped when you've slept for 400 years. Churches didn't even exist in Japan at that time.

*With a widening smile, I replied.*
"Damien Kross, at your service. Kelsie... I like that name." I said, not even meaning to release my iner suaveness... Then again, it's turned into a reflex over the years. Then, my ears hard possibly the stupidest comment that has ever been muttered... I turned my head slowly to the other kid, a dumb expression on my face.
"Excuse me... but what is church? If you don't know what church is, then why are you here?" I asked inquisitively, curious as to whether the kid was pullin my leg, or was just plain stupid.

Kelsie smiled and blushed at the way his words seemed to roll off his tongue in a way that seemed almost innate. She didn't say anything else because, though she had been about to, another voice broke into the conversation. Kelsie's head shot up and she listened easily hearing the soft quiet voice of the man that was speaking to them from another pew. He seemed so timid and in his voice it sounded as though he was completely afraid of what might happen upon asking a question that almost everyone had ever known since birth. Truly, there were few in the world that didnt know what a church was.
Damien seemed to take the more harsh approach which would probably either scare the poor boy back to silence or make him leave all together. Granted she couldn't see him, so she didn't know anything about him being shirtless or having fangs. To her he was just another voice, a shy one, not as smoothe as Damien's that was rather pleasant to the ear. But truthfully, the boy that spoke now, his voice too was nice to listen to only because he was so quiet, and so many people were unnecessarily loud. Especially to a blind woman.
"To put it rather simply," Kelsie began in her soft melodic voice. "A church is where you come to worship the one God. The one that created the world and all the people that live upon it. It is a place to be thankful for what he had given, ask for things that you would like him to watch over, and to be closer to the man that has created you." she said softly.
And with that Kelsie would turn her attention back to the front of the church and she would find her bible written in braile sitting close by and pull the rather heavy book into her lap. She smiled softly at the familiar feel of the worn volume under her hands it was obviously not only well cared for but used a good portion.
"Damien Kross, what a nice name to find in a church." she chuckled softly. "You fit right in, I am Kelsie Sky, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Kross."

*I said nothing as Kelsie explained to the boy what Church was, seeing as my two cents weren't necessary. The girl turned away and withdrew a braile bible, proving to my mind that she was indeed blind. She introduced herself politely as being Kelsie Sky, and mentioned the irony of my last name being Kross.*
"Kelsie Sky...? So, not only do you have a nice first name, but a beautiful last as well." I swooned. With a grin, I turned to our other new friend. "And your name is?" I asked politely, as if to make up for the tone I used on him just a moment before.

"Excuse me... but what is church? If you don't know what church is, then why are you here?"
As soon as Raiden heard those words and read the guy's face it was obvious that the guy was simply annoyed by Raiden's question. Raiden shrunk alittle on the inside out of simple embarrassment. Being Raiden he could easily be crushed by any simple gesture, and then refrain from talking to anyone period. Well, Raiden felt he should say something else or the guy might get angered by his silence. The last guy did when Raiden said nothing.
"Uh-ummm...w-well," he said trying to speak to the guy. Raiden at that moment felt like just shutting his mouth and leaving. That was the only alternative on Raiden's mind. Just then he heard the woman break in. She explain to Raiden what this place was in such a soothing fashion it calmed Raiden down some at the very least. When she mentioned this person called "God" and what he had done, Raiden was slightly intrigued. Raiden glanced up at the cross and then back towards the woman. He created me? he said to himself.
When the lady finished talking to Raiden he smiled slightly, but only a small one which would almost be unnoticable. He then watched as she took out a bible and started putting her fingers on what appears to be bumps, but took nothing of it simply because he had no idea what braille was as well. So there was no clue at the moment which he knows she's blind.
Raiden then listened as they mentioned there names to each other, but turned to face the other way so it wouldn't be like he was eavesdropping again. Although they both had some pretty nice names, Raiden didn't think so highly of his. When the guy asked what Raiden's name was he turned slightly to look at them again. "M-My name? It R-Raiden Matsutani..." he said in a timid manner again.

"Raiden." I said to myself after the kid announced his name. "Heh... Raiden, God of Thunder, Protector of Earth Realm..." I muttered to myself, a small laugh escaping my lips after I said it... God I'm such an idiot... Heh. Realizing I said it aloud, "Heh, sorry. Nevermind," I excused.
"So, do you two attend The Academy?" I asked, quickly changing the topic. In my years there, I thought I had seen them around before, but I was unsure.

Kelsie blushed softly as Damien told her that her first and last names were both beautiful. She really didn't think much of them but if he liked them then she wouldn't say anything. Her hand ranged over the bumpy text in the bible the small little circular bumps allowing her to read though this full looking book the size of a bible was actually only one chapter. The rest were at home in her dorm for when she needed or wanted those as braile took up a lot of room in a book. Kelsie paused in her reading as the man that was not in the pew with them told them his name was Raiden. It was an unusual name one she had never heard of before but it seemed Damien had and she smirked softly.
"I do attend the academy. I only came here recently." she admitted softly. "What of yourself?"
She waited for a moment before she closed her bible it was rather rude to read while others seemed to want to talk and so she wanted to make sure that if they were going to have a discussion in the very least she wasn't rude about it. So setting her bible aside she listened to everyone speaking.

*Hahaha... It seemed that everytime I opened my mouth, that girl's cheeks would get pinker and pinker. Damn I'm smooth...
"Yes, I do attend the Academy. I'm Mr. Halsephea's personal assistant." I said, trying to sound very official. I noticed that Kelsie closed her bible, seemingly out of respect for the conversation. How kind of her. "I've been there for around eight years now. Once I finished my training, Halsephea hired me..." I finished, thinking about old times.
"So, what of you two? How long have each of you been at The Academy?" I asked, twisting the question to concern years rather than attendence.
