"......"
Raiden was slient after the strange commentary on his name. Raiden didn't think his name sounded that weird. But having a name that means lighting and thunder would make you stand out some. That was something Raiden hated...standing out amongst others. Then Damien had asked if either one of them attend Arcane Academy, and then how long. Raiden simply nodded yes at first. "M-Me? I guess I've gone to the academy for less than a year now..." he replied.

"Ah, fresh meat." I commented after hearing of his less than one year attendence. "If you don't have a class with Halsephea yet, get one. They're a blast. I'm starting Demonology with him soon."
*With a smile, to turn to Kelsie, knowing unfortunetly, that she cannot see it.*
"What about you? First year as well?"

It seemed she and the boy that was across the way a bit from her and Damien were both relatively knew. She listened as they spoke to each other but stayed quiet until Damien brought the conversation back to her. she smiled softly.
"yes, and I would take a class, but the problem with being blind and in a magical world is that everythiing is so visual. And so I could read the texts or listen to the lectures but seeing things demonstrated and the like would be lost on me." she said with a soft shrug. Her face fell for a moment as she turned back to the front and let her head hang softly her blonde hair fell over her shoulder. It was just a reminder of how much her blindness isolated her from others. Even her parents had disowned her for being blind, she was alone in this world all except for with Brandon. he was all she had now.

*I sighed, understanding how she must have felt. Many magics created such beautiful, enchanting sights to behold, but she would never know that pleasure.*
"Well, some magics can cure born blindness, but finding a wizard who can actually do that is a problem... Maybe someday your training will lead you to such a sorcerer, and you can finally gain sight..." I said, trying to give her optimism. "I'm sure a girl as pretty as yourself has a man who can help you achieve that goal, am I right?"

Kelsie turned to face him again, her eyes stared out just past his shoulder but the thought was there. He told her that some wizards could cure blindness and she smiled half heartedly, she couldn't heal herself and according to the Tracers she would be powerful enough one day to cure something like blindness or deafness but for her it would not be likely as her healing was produced to a lesser extent on her own body. Still the hope was given and she appreciated the gesture coming from someone that she didn't know at all.
When he asked if she had someone special, a man, that would help her acheive that very goal she blushed a deep deep read and she smiled softly. Brandon meant the world to her, he was the only thing that kept her alive these days because they loved each other so completely. She nodded softly.
"Yes, I do. I'm very lucky to have found him here. We knew each other as children but were seperated because he's terribly smart and was sent away to a school for gifted children. Our parents wouldn't let us contact each other, at that time we were best friends but it had begun to develop. Our parents probably knew that and I doubt Brandon's parents wanted him involved with a blind girl. But when I came here, I thought all hope of finding him was lost, until one day in the cafeteria I ran into him." she said softly. "And we have rarely been apart since. Again, I am lucky and thankful that I have him now. Have you anyone? either of you?" she asked.

Raiden scratched the back of his head and shook his head signifying no, but he just now remembered that Damien had mentioned Kelsie beind blind. So she's blind? How sad... he thought to himself. She then explained to Raiden and Damien how she's been mostly alone because of her being blind. That kind of reason sounded dumb to Raiden. How could people be so close minded? Just because someone lost there eye sight doesn't mean they're designated outcasts from society.
Raiden understood this perfectly, but then not really. Raiden for the very same reason of being different is casted aside by others. For being a demon he's clasified as being lower that humans, lower than trash. No one wants to be involved with someone who has red eyes, fangs, and pointy ears. Raiden shook off those thoughts for awhile to listen to Kelsie again. "No...no one..." Raiden said. "No one needs to associate them selves with a demon," he said under his breath.

Kelsie smiled softly as Raiden spoke and she shook her head briefly. She turned in the direction that Raiden's voice was coming from and she offered a kind smile.
"That isn't true. I think everyone has worth, no matter who they are. Even the most evil of people can have a kind part of them that cries out to be accepted and needed. Don't sell yourself short Raiden, if you are not human it doesn't mean anything. Not in a world like this. Brandon, the boy I was just talking about, he is half machine because of an accident in his youth. I love him so very much, the mechanical parts as much as the flesh ones. I don't care if he isn't completely human, it doesn't matter. It's what's on the inside that counts." she said softly.
"I would't lose hope." she said and turned back to the front.
