Roy sat in a small building. He had dressed as he usaully did, black sleeveless shirt, black cloth pants, brown boots and belt. His scarf was hanging on a coat rack near the door, and mostof his weapons, save his bootknife and claymore, were in his dorm room at te academy.
His claymore was leaning against the wall, harmlessly, five feet away.
He let out a sigh, He had opened his shop earlier in the day, and he had only gotten stupid questions.
"Will I be rich?" Asked a homeless man with no work ethic.
"Why does my finger hurt when I touch things?" Said the man with the broken finger.
Eventually, Roy had walked out and made an ammendment to his sign.
Roy Atenwood: Oracle for Hire.
In small print below that:
Roy reserves the right to call you a moron.
So, he sat inside, now, brushing his shoulder length red hair with a small brush, and waiting for someone intelligent.
"Now I see why my uncle gave this up...."

Lienn was out of natural vanilla. Yeah, so it was an odd thing to need, but she needed it for her moon blossom elixir...the elixir that kept her powers from spiking dangerously and possibly, if not handled, destroying her. With everything so factory-made now-adays in the regular stores, that she had to go down to the open air marketplace to find what she needed.
She was clad in her normal knee length, sleeveless red dress, her bo staff strapped proudly to her back. In order to master her newly acquired weapon, she needed to use it, and have it at all times. Like an extension of her being, and with her telekinetic powers, it could be just that. Lost in her thoughts, she was brought back to Earth by a man walking away with his friend going 'It's a miracle!' and holding his finger, which by the black and blue marks between the knuckles, was broken. A broken finger, a miracle? And then her gaze fell behind the passing pair to a small storefront with a sign reading 'Roy Atenwood: Oracle for Hire,' though what interested her was what was written below it, seemingly freshly done: 'Roy reserves the Right to call you a Moron.'
The pale blonde girl laughed, though it was soft and if anyone hadn't known better, they'd think she was crying. Her eyes squinted at the corners and she covered her mouth with her hand. Well, her elixr could wait a minute or two, and she pushed open the door and walked inside, looking around curiusly.

Well...this customer actually has inteligent things to say......hmmm...price drop.
A blue flash from Roy's eyes, and the price changed from thirty dollars to three, as it read on a small blackboard behind him. A white flash, and he knew her name.
This was about five minutes before she walked in. Roy was good at his job. It was just about his only talent. She was walking own the street, still, looking for natural vanilla for an elixer of some sort. She also had the potential for the Second Sight. Anyone with Physcic abillity did.
As soon as she walked in the door, he spoke. His smile was bright, and he was cheerful. He finaly had an intelligent person come in. He knew that speaking thier thoughts aloud was generaly the way to impress upon intelligent folk that his abilities were more than mere show.
"Ah, hello. You know, the apothcary down the road from here, about three blocks down, is having a sale on natural vanilla."
He smiled, and his eyes flashed blue again. A chair pulled out a bit, one that would sit her directly in front of a crystal ball.
"I know it's a bit stereotypical, but bear with me. They crystal ball actually works."
He laughed good naturedly, and waited for her to sit down.

Immediately upon entering, a male voice spoke up about her need for natural vanilla. Point for the oracle boy.. She glancing up at the sign, reading the price before sitting down at the seat he'd pulled out for her. Three dollars wasn't too bad, and if he was able to know about her vanilla hunt, then maybe he wasn't a crackpot, phony fortune teller. But then again, she'd never used a crystal ball, or seen it used correctly.
Lienn had the urge to offer a semi-sarcastic remark along the lines of..'Will I ever find true love?' But she merely smirked to herself and placed her hands lightly on the table, eyes following him as he would go to site down as well.

He sat down.
"I know most seers don't use crystal balls....."
And I can't blame you for being a wee bit skeptical about them. Aslo, ask about true love, and your rate goes back up to the normal thirty dollars. That's the rate I charge for morons and smartasses.
He spoke directly into her mind, which wasn't hard, given that her natural ability was extremely powerful. If she knew how to hanress it, she would be just about the strongest physcic in the entire...no...in ALL the worlds. He could feel power eminatinf from her that far surpassed his.
In fact, most crystal balls ARE fake. This one I carved myself, using only my mind, out of enchanted orken crystal. It focuses my mind as I look toward the future. Now...what exactly do you want to know? Keep in mind......I have a reputation as a bit of a grump. So, Miss Lienn Amalie Deveraux, I'm at your service.
He smiled. He wasn't being grouchy at the moment,bu he culd hear a man yell from outside.
Can you belive that grumpy seer told me I was going to die, broken and alone in a nursing home, soaked in my own filth?

Lienn's eyes widened as she found that when the boy spoke again, his lips weren't moving. It was like all of the other voices that had entered her mind at one time or another. 'Oh. Em. Gee. I an sooo late for class!' '-put my chi into my sword..it lights up!' 'He called me! I can't believe he called-!' But now she knew that it didn't mean she was crazy...she was...telepathic? Well, it made sense since she was a psychic, but she thought her abilities lied simply with telekinesis...and astral projection..though she hadn't dabbled as much in that as she had the latter.
But what could she lose? She settled her mind and focused of the red haired boy in front of her. "Why...why is this happening to me?" She meant the uncontrollable power. The something that broke when she was in that Monster's class..it seemed like years ago, but at the same time flashes of the incident flashed through her mind and she cringed.

I don't know. Nobody truly does. It's an advanced magic, extremely powerful.....let's take a look into your past. What yu see...may shock you, if you have any repressed memories. Oh, and this is free of charge. I consider this helping a peer, not a service.
He looked at his crystal ball...and his eyes glowed white. He held both hands out toward it, small white beams connecting with the crystal.
"Niethrey'yek taa'an kizeak!"
Speaking an ancient, elvish incantation, he amplified his power tenfold. This would cause him to go blind for eight hours, but it was worth it. His mind's eye still saw all.
He saw many things. She had lost control, and that was why she needed the elixer. He couldn't see what had happened once she lost control, because her power was just that strong. Even his uncle, a fifth circle archmage and the most powerful seer alive, wouldn't be able to tell.
Interesting...let's go back further.......
Her childhood.
I won't intrude on this without your permission, Miss, but I need to look if I am to find out why this is happening.

Lienn's eyes widened curiously as he spoke in an odd tongue, but she felt tingly as his power surged, his eyes turning white like hers would when her powers would spike, and she could feel her own chi straining against the barrier she had in place to keep from losing control. What was this?
Flashes of memories crossed over her mind: Of the class, running away, and farther back..her old friends, Excel, Priest, Torm, Leon...their images dissolving before her eyes..an image of her younger self flashing before her eyes before his power ebbed. The French girl blinked, unseeing, her eyes becoming milky from the power around them...but she needed to keep control.
P-proceed.
[ooc: Ummm....childhood. Never really thought about that. Feel free to throw in some freak accident with her powers or something that ended up hurting someone when she was realllllllly young or something, something she wouldn't consciously remember. Mostly her fractured power is due to the class, but it would be logical that it had some sub-conscious, underlying event.]

((OOC: I was going to go for something simple...like she cracked her head open on the coffee table when she was young.))
Alright....then we go deeper.
nothing really big happened. No loss of control when she was a child. Nothing huge. Roy had already known it wouldn't be anything huge. Something small....something inconsiquential, was what he was looking for.
THERE! when you were four. You hit your head on the corner of the kitchen counter. That unlocked your latent power.
Roy frowned a bit. He was thinking. How the hell would he get back to his dorm once this spell ended? his eyes were already blind for the night, but once his second sight stopped working, he would effectively be blind.
Not what you were expecting, was it? I understand....looking back on it, I was suprised with how my new healing abilities awakened.....wait...WAIT a minute! That's not it...not alone............I must be slipping.
Slipping or not, he was still too young to let it bother him. He was only eightteen and one half-year.
A beating. Nothing really serious, but it had angered her. Just some schoolyard bullies. but they hadn't survived. Her eyes had glowed the same white roy's had, and the wind had reacted the same way. The three young men had died quickly, thier hearts exploding in thier chests like grapes under a large man's boot.
I'm sorry you had to relive that...but I need to look closer........I think I saw something else.
YES! A man with red hair, who looked much like Roy had before he had cut his hair. Ankle length red ponytail. Blue jacked with a white shirt underneath. White pants...and a sword much like the one Roy now had, but with a different hilt, and larger riposte.
You found it, Roy. Be satisfied. Sorry for the interruption, but you should try and teach her how to control this.
Lienn, of course, couldn't see Roy's uncle. Or so Roy hoped. He was projecting into Roy's mind, and masking himself from the young french woman.
Also, Roy's uncle Alundra was the most powerful seer in existance. along with being a Fifth Circle Archmage of the Order of The Wild Rose.
His vision ended. his crystal grew dark. He couldn't see anything, now. not with his mind, or his eyes.
"It...seems I've fallen into a Shroud. Anyway.....I'm of no use to anyone right now, but I can still help you try and interpret what we saw."
She would be able to see his unfocused eyes now. It was easy to tell that he couldn't see. He could throw off a shroud, yes, but it was difficult.
Suddenly, his vision cleared. So did his second sight.
"It appears a much more powerful seer just threw the shroud away from my second sight...he says we should try and go deeper."
Smart boy.
THe beams connected with the crystal ball again, and he diddn't use his spell yet.
We saw the events....but what gave you the power in the first place? Powers such as yours are hereditary. I got mine from my uncle. Any family members you can think of to investigate?

[ooc; works for me, both do XD]
So she'd hit her head? Pale blonde tresses floated lightly over her shoulders as he pressed on, further into her mind, but there was no wind in the room. Flash, flash, flash..a schoolyard? And those boys, she knew them! Well, not knew them as in who they were, but she did. They'd pushed her in the sand because she refused to give them her lunch money. And right after they'd given the boy she'd been making the sand castle with a bloody nose. She was so hurt, so angry with them! And then the next thing she knew, they were on the ground, they weren't moving.
And it wasn't her fault! It wasn't! She could only bend her breakfast spoons and turn off her light without getting up when she wanted to sleep...she couldn't have...?!?!
"No!"
While Roy was mentally conversing with his uncle, the French girl leapt to her feet as her chair was sent crashing into the wall behind her. Her eyes were white, pale tresses whipping around, hands rushing to her head and she falterd. But just asquickly as it came, she was back to normal, blinking her eyes as they became normal again, the wind settling, but she was breathing hard and shaking like she'd just run 10 miles. She hadn't remembered that...she had killed? But why had it happened? And how? Had the head injury resulted in an accident? Was she to blame?
Sheepishly, she held out her hand, the chair (undamaged thankfully) rushing back into her hand and she set it back in place, sitting back down shakily. "I-I'm sorry.." She didn't even notice him setting up to try the spell again.

"Not your fault. I freaked out when I learned how my power manifested the first time. It's very common for a telepath to manifest in that manner. You're lucky, you only killed three, and it was no fault of your own. You were only defending yourself, and honestly, if they would have lived, onwe would have become a kingpin in the irish mafia, and the others would have been mass-murderers. You did the world a favor."
He had been blind when she had lost sontrol. His sight restored, he saw as her hair stoped moving in the slight wind that remained.
"As for that, I can teach you to control it, if you'd like. I had no help, but I can damn well make sure no one else goes through what I did. Not alone, anyway."
He let out a sigh.
"If you refuse, you'll lose control soon. I'm not trying to frighten you, but people may get hurt. It's not a certain future, so it's blurry. But I can also teach you to see using Second Sight. Anyone can use it, if they learn. It would actually help you to control your telepathy."
Everything went gray. This was a "Crossroads". As soon as she decided, everything would go back into color. For him, at least. Nothing would change in her eyes, unless she ws still sensitive from losing control.

Lienn felt…odd. She was hearing what he was saying, but at the same time, as he felt silent, she felt detached. Almost like looking down upon herself and the boy, Roy…she had a decision to make. This…whatever was happening to her, she couldn't overcome it herself. The snow blossom elixir could only help for so long until her supply runs out…and then what? …She would lose control. But after losing basically all of her friends in her absence, Lienn had become a loner…was she willing to trust a complete stranger? She had just met this boy, but he seemed to be the only one like her, the only one who could help her.
"I accept your offer." She spoke softly, eyes trained on the table. Her mind spoke as well, making it sound like to Roy she were speaking with dual voices. She was still new to this.

"Alright, that's good."
Roy's vision was in color once again. She had made the right decision. He smiled, trying to be reasurring. He heard her mind and vice at the same time. She was new to it, but she would be able to learn fast.
"I know it's hard to trust me right now, but I'll prove to you you diddn't make the wrong choice. Another seer, some distance away, threw off the shroud I was suffering from, so we can start any time you like...although I suggest we get lunch or something first. Second Sight makes me hungry."
He was smiling a lot this week.
"Also, I guess my reputation as a "Grumpy Seer" just won't stand with you...heh.....you'll get to see how nice I am to people who aren't idiots."

Lienn's now calm eyes watched him, and her expression was composured and neutral once more. "I'm sure you may be aware of this, but it is not in my nature to be trusting right off. You have surprised me, and are obviously powerful. I seek your help because I know I can't do this on my own, and I don't want to hurt any more people than I have to." It was her normal nature. Composed, thoughtful, quiet. Observational, reserved. Her expressions, when they rarely surface for others to see, were slight. Mellow. She didn't need to go shouting and stomping around to make her expressions heard. To outsiders, this ay make her appear as cold, but once warmed up to, she was quite nice...but you needed to earn her respect first.
After a moment, a shadow of a smile crossed her face. "I'm a bit hungry as well. Is there a fresh food market around here?"

"Yeah...but the guy who runs it is angry with me again. I gave him a reading, and he diddn't take it well when I called him a moron."
Roy laughed.
"Lemme check something...see what he remembers....."
Roy's eyes flashed for a moment.
"He only remembers my old hair. I had a LOT of hair then......looks like he can't remember my face. So, that DOES sound like a good idea. I'll cover whatever you want to buy, too. If he asks my name, I'll just pretend I don't speak english.....I'd rather avoid fighting him."
He laughed, walking over to his sword against the wall, and slinging it over his back, sheath and all. He was so scrawny that from the back he looked like a sword with legs, while he wore it.
"Err...I haven't been tere in a while...could you lead the way?"
