Darah strolled through the training grounds of Arcane Academy. Was this the only way she knew how to spend her time? She would ask herself and the answer would always come back as a yes. She didn't go to classes anymore. Nor does she want to be a lackey for the academy and do stupid missions even though she was among the youngest and most qualified of people to handle them.
The young fourteen year old was garbbed in her usual brown cloak and hood, covered completely making her look like some sort of dark cultist. Beside her was her son, a hulking lizard known as a basilisk with sharp horns and claws.
No one was around, which was rather strange. Usually there were at least one or two people around looking to pit their fancy magic tricks against others.
"Come on, I need somebody to play with!" Darah silky voice called out into the open space. This usually gets someone's attention. "You may try beat me if you wanna!"

((OOC: Hope you don't mind me posting here.)
Roy had walked onto the Training Grounds looking to spar with somebody. Well, anybody, really. He diddn't see anyone, though. He walked aimlessly, until he decided to try and hone his magic on his own.
Then he heard the voice. A young woman, aparantly wanting to fight. He was the only one here. "Ummm....ok? I'll fight, I guess.."
His baggy t-shirt, three sizes too big, flapped in the wind. His baggy blue jeans did the same, with his ponytail trailing behind him. His elven ears stood out a full five inches, which gave him an akward appearance. "If...if you really want to fight, I guess I will. I need some practice, but there's nobody else here."

Darah lifted her hood up slightly to stare at her challenger with her piercing green eyes. Like her, this challenger was also a freak. Perhaps not as freaky as the lizard girl, but still had a good level of freakiness to him. Long ears... Darah didn't know what specie he was but he was definitely not human...
Great... Of all people to come fight with me, it had to be a stammering chicken...
"Alright then." Darah lowered her hood back down after analyzing the older boy. "But for heaven sakes show some backbone... I can't believe you're actually older than me... Or at least, you look older than me..."
"Wait for me, kid." The young girl told the juvenile basilisk at her side while gently stroking his neck. "I'll be back shortly."
Mother and son parted as Gekko moved away from the fighting area while Darah moved to face the challenger. Another day, another person to be sent to the recovery area for poison antidotes...

Get some backbone, eh? Good idea. Roy laughed "That'd be nice." He said, in response to her telling him to get some backbone. As the girl came to face him, he unhooked the staff from his belt, and hit the small button that extended it. He was shaking slightly as he took stance, something in the back of his head screamed "Watch for poisons!"
As she came toward him, he stood up straight, and grasped his staff by the center. He moved so that half of the staff was situated behind him, and half was within view, but still situated behind him. He moved one hand in front of him, open palmed, ready to flash a defending fire in front of him, or a wall of telekinetic force.
She was facing him now, and he was slightly shaken, but nonetheless, he said, "C'mon, come and get me!"

And with the coward's words, the fight started. Since he welcomed Darah to make the first attack, why not oblige? Darah immediately dashed for her opponent, her brown tattered cloak flying behind her to reveal long, lean legs running barefoot. Her slender waist and hip-huggers were also shown as she neared her opponent.
I wonder if this one is freaked out by my skin color and scales. Only one person hadn't seem to mind Darah's weird looks but he was long gone already...
A metre away from Roy, Darah skipped towards Roy's right and shot a small pellet of paralyzing poisons at Roy's right knee. Darah had seen that Roy had put his hand in front of himself as Darah was charging. That meant that he would be ready to counterattack or block her had she attacked from the front. Hence why Darah chose a side attack. With her agility and speed of her attack, it would be hard for Roy to react to defend himself. Human reactions wouldn't allow it. But perhaps his freakish-ness may save him?

Roy smirked as the girl's cloak fell away. Was that all she was hiding? It really wasn't as freaky as she made it out to be, if THAT was the reason she wore the cloak.
As she came toward him, he braced himself for an attack. This steel staff had guided him through a few fights in his time, but he hadn't expected what happened next.
As he performed an akward backflip, the poison grazing the bottome of his left boot, he exclaimed, "You can spit poison? That's so freaking COOL!" He landed at an odd angle, and righted himself imediately. He spun to face the snakelike girl, and stuck his left hand out toward her.
"Soanates!" Roy screamed, and a wall of telekinetic force rushed from his hand toward the girl. The only real strength of this attack was its wide range and the fact that it was invisble to anyone without telepathic powers. The bad news was that it was rather weak, and only meant to stun somebody.
He took stance again, and charged toward her. If his spell hit her, he would lunge foreward with his staff, and strike her with the end of his staff.

(ooc: You could at least give a description on how you saw the attack coming. Staff guiding you? I need more description. Anyways, are you familiar with T1? It's a way of RP fighting. Many people confuse it with godmod but I assure you it's not. You may ask the designer about it. He should know...)
Acrobatics, funny. Darah couldn't remember the last time she had fought someone who liked to backflip away from attacks. It was nice to see in a circus, but whoever backflips in a fight may as well sign his or her soul to the devil since he or she would be asking to be attacked.
You see, backflips take a while to be executed and completed. While the boy was halfway through his backflip, Darah had ample time to rush under him and swing her claws at his exposed back.
Take your acrobatics to the circus, twit. You're in a fight now!

((OOC:Sorry bout that. Wasn't thinking much. Also, you make a logical point, so I'm not mad about it. I actually hoped for something like this to happen. I'm going to assume Roy as at least alowed to say how freaking cool that was, though.))
Well, his half-elven reflexes had allowed him to see the poison, but what happened next hurt. He thought to himself,I'm such an idiot. Acrobatics work at HUMAN schools...not here.
"Son of a...owch." What he had mistaken for friendly sparring was in fact a real battle. He hit the ground face first, and rolled to his feet, feeling the blood flow from his back. He was done screwing around, not like that meant much. He would just uselessly try, instead of making friendly banter. He held his left hand out toward her.
"Soanates!" Roy screamed, and a wall of telekinetic force rushed from his hand toward the girl. He rushed just behind it, and would try to hit her with the end of his staff as the spell stunned her.

Tech had strolled around the area, looking for something to do. The black metal on his head and hands gleamed eerily in the sun, the rest of the metal, that on his arms, legs and upper head, was concealed by his clothing, the brown leather jacket, the black denim pants and his favorite baseball cap, making him seem somewhat more common, but he was still far from normal, whatever ´normal´ was.
He had been walking around, when he saw a fight take it's begainning. Always curious and looking for new data, he decided to study the two combatants. One of them seemed vaguely familiar, but that was unimportant at this time. He just activated his analytic sensors, told his flying skull, Mech, to study the fight as well and simply watched. There was more to it than just watching, but he didn't want to think about that now

By now, Darah was not the same creature she was when the battle had started. Underneath her cloak, her skin was getting darker and scalier. Her sudden increase in height made her barefeet show from underneath her cloak, and those feet soon became bird-like talons. Her lengthened arms now had hardened, longer claws at the end of each hand. The horns on Darah's head grew longer and serrated, pushing her hood back to reveal her lizard-like face, like Mystique from X-men except more scaly and dark green in colour instead. Her eyes went jet black, making it hard for people to tell which direction she's looking at.
Darah's eyes never left her opponent for one second and the moment he raised his arm at her, she was alarmed. What else could the boy want than to send some sort of attack at her.
The boy uttered some incantation and Darah could not see, but could feel something rushing towards her. Like a wave it was and on all fours, she immediately ran for one side of the wave to try avoid it. However, the wave managed to knock her down and Darah was rolled over on the floor. She agility made her land on her feet in crouching position as the boy swung the stick at her. To be able to dodge completely was impossible so Darah turned slightly to take the blow on her shoulder. Thank god for the boy not being too strong but Darah still hissed in pain and immediately countered by spraying her paralysis poisons for more surface contact at the boy at near point blank range.

"What the hell? W-what is this?" Roy could barely move. He couldn't feel about half his body, and was forced to use his staff to pull himself away from the cool-looking snake-monster-girl-thingy. Whatever she was, it was worth losing this fight just to see something that freaking cool.
As he tried to get to a safe distance, he still couldn't feel the left side of his body, from the neck down. He was able to flash a flame in front of him to stop about half the poison, burning it on contact, but half of it had hit him.
"Ok...I can't move very well..." He held his staff in his right hand, ready to TRY to intercept anything she threw at him. "C'mon! Usually I at LEAST know somebody's name when they screw me up this badly!" He said, an insane smirk on his face. He hadn't used a lot of his magical energy, so if she rushed at him, he figured that he could use his wind magic to jump over her and try to attack from behind.
If she used a projectile, his only option was to block it with fire, and that hadn't worked too well the first time.

The lizardlike female stood up and backed away some distance of a metre or two. A warrior would be useless after taking that much an amount of paralysis poisons but a mage still would have his or her fancy tricks and Darah was not going to take any chances with this one.
The boy, he wanted to know her name... "Dha-rAH..." Her forked tongue did its best to pronounce her name properly. Slowly, her features reverted to normal... Well, as normal as it usually was. A normal girl save the funny skin, horns and eyes...
"Darah. My name is Darah." She repeated for the mage's sake. "Have you given up yet?"

Roy tried to stand up straight, and laughed lightly when his left leg wouldn't respond. "Yeah....I've only got magic that requires me to be mobile." He tried to move without using his staff, and found it quite impossible.
"so...ummm....is it possible to walk this stuff of, or should I head to the infirmary?"

"Fascinating, just fascinating" Tech was absorbed by the finished combat. He had seen a few things since he got here, but nothing like this. "You got that Mech?" A question of utter unneccesarity, but was a habit for him. "Of course" the flying skull responded, still focused on the fighters.
Tech, believing the combat to have ended, approached the boy he knew as Roy. "Aigh't Roy? You gonna introduce me to your friend?" He asked grinning, as he offered Roy his hand, not knowing that he couldn't walk
