Stopping took barely any time at all when he opened his wings completely to catch wind resistance and dug his tail into the ground like last time to stop himself. Then he had enacted his plan quickly and Raiden had dodged. A smart move, but the counter wasn't exactly a good one.
The lightning had been expected. After all Raiden had dodged and put distance between them, at close range the aiming hand could easily be forced aside and thus it would be a waste. Raising his wrist blade up, be crossed it past where the lightning would go, lowered himself a little then rapidly slashed his arm down as the lightning streaked in. It hit his blade, the lightning arcing between the three blade points, then his arm hit the ground and the lightning discharged. In truth, he had been grounded anyway so the lighting wouldn't have done much, if anything, but this time it hadn't even hit his body at all. It had barely hit his arm, thus the nerves in there were only minorly effected and the ground received the lightning instead.
Smirking, Chephros started walking towards his opponent. He would close the gap, but not by running now. He kept his blade in front of him, reading to slash it downward to stop incoming attacks, but then found a new defensive plan. He stopped moving, crouched down, and dug his blade into the ground to where the longer tips were two inches into the ground. Then he put his left arm behind his back, pulled his right elbow to touch his chest, and waited. Any lightning attacks would be put into the ground quickly and with no repurcussions, much like electricians would do. However, for him the lightning would bounce between his plates if it hit his chest then hit the blade. Of course, with the speed electricity moved at, it would take less than a second because of how bunched up his body was. Because he was grounded, having no shoes on at all and never going to, he was decently immune to lightning attacks that didn't have blatant force to them. Now all he had to do was wait.
