"Oh bloody HELL!" Roy screamed as he went down to one knee. He hadn't even meant to read the vampire's mind. "Cut it out! You remind me of my ex girlfriend!"
Roy stood up, withstanding the mental barrage. He never really meant to read the vampire's thoughts. He just couldn't controll it very well. He usually just "Heard" surface thoughts, and with all of this thrust onto the surface, it hurt. A lot. He held his head in one hand as he shot a few images through his own mind. What came to mind first?
Ice cream. Roy always wondered if vampires ate ice cream. Maybe he would find out?

Vrac smiled when the half elf began to scream but got a surprise when he heard the joke that followed after. Either this guy's life had sucked this far or he wasn't really looking into the mind directly. Vrac guessed that it was the second one and didn't let it down. Because even if he was prohibited to attack the others directly he could still think about whatever he wanted and thus he did. He thought about exactly all the kinds of torture hell was said to contain and seasoned them with what had happened in the inquisition. In all the scenarios he was the one who committed the torture and in each and every one the victims face were to destroyed to be recognizable.
I do not know you and I do not care. This mind is mine and this is my walls to protect it. So, are you enjoying your stay, half human?

Tech was abruptly brought back to his senses at the long-eared guys scream. He looked up to find the pale guy smiling. He didn't need his cybernetically enhanced logic to figure out what the source of the scream was.
"Mech" he uttered, the tone in his voice telling the mechanical familiar all it needed to know. The bag fell to the floor and a series of sharp tools extended from the bottom of the flying skull. "What's you doing?" Tech asked, letting the metallic claws slide menacingly out of their mechanical sockets in his finger tips. He hated when people hurt others for the sake of fun, it reminded him of the SOG

Vrac heard that the"Tech" guy asked him what he was doing. He didn't feel like answering to a mere human, especially if it wasn't even an entire human and the rest was more of the junk that was laying around. But since he was a guest at the academy and he didn't know this guys position even if it was pretty easy to guess he only barely let go of his conentration so that he could turn against Tech and answer him.
"I'm just thinking what I like to think. Did I interupt something, Tech? Was I thinking to loud or do you read my mind or something?"
Vrac gave Tech a big and warm smile. Which wasn't a very nice thing considering that Vrac's a vampire. Now that he could take a closer look at him he could see that it wasn't much for him to care about. To much of him was metal scrap and other junk and he probably didn't have much blood in his veins. The only metal that Vrac could accept was armor, weapons and things to build homes of. He couldn't possibly see the need for all this fancy electricity and stuff. And a human partially made of it made him annoyed.

"If you're hurting him" Tech began, putting weight behind his every word, "then stop". The wide smile had made him realize that he was facing no mortal, but that didn't really matter to him, it was the principle. Hurt was a thing to destribute in need, not in fun, things were that simple. He was charging energy into the purifiyng device in his right arm, preparing release it in a bolt of destructive energy.
Mech had begun wirring his tools around, creating noise and movement. He didn't like this sort of thing either

"Cute. Just cute. But now it isn't quite like you think it is. You see, as I said I'm only thinking about whatever I feel like thinking of. The one who does anything offensive would be him, by reading my mind. Since I'm very fond of my mind and integrity I find it slightly rude to do so. Therefore I do what I can to keep him out. Now put those things away before you poke your other eye out or something."
This wasn't quite what he had been expecting from the academy. He had been expecting alot of books and spells, he had found that, but not all these mechanics and others. He had also thought that there would be big warnings about it since they'd put him under so many restrictions when he came here. This was unexpected, but yet so very much better.

"And you see that as reason to torture him" Tech spoke with contempt, this disgusted him. It was true that one should not intrude, least of all peoples mind's. But was the reason to harm, to hurt? This was not Tech's point of view. Despite his aggressive output, he didn't like this sort situation. But things were already getting personal. The vampire had cracked a joke about Tech's eye, at least it seemed that way to Tech. The bloodsucker had pressed a dangerous button, probably unknowingly

"Look, could both of you stop fighting? I just can't controll my telepathy, is all. I'm not trying to invade your mind. I projected a thought, yes, but just please STOP!" Roy screamed. This was starting to hurt like hell.
"Look, I'm not trying to invade you or something. I hear surface thoughts...that's it. I can't controll it, so just back the hell OFF!"

"You're no fun but as you wish."
End of fun. Now that he had an explanation he had no reason to put up his self defense and thus let his lusts sink back into his head. Of course, there was still this other guy left. If he attacked Vrac would have legitimate reasons to defend himself from that but it didn't seem very likely now that the mind reader had made him stop.
"A tip, learn to controll it. There's always a posibility if you just look enough. That way you won't risk that this happens again."

Tech felt the tension between the vampire and the apparant mindreader vane, but his own anger was a different matter. Mech, sensing this, pulled back his working tools, instead producing a small hand with opposable digits. It was meant to hold onto more slippery substances, but Mech had learned that he could use it to calm Tech down. "There, there" He spoke, as soothingly as he could with that artifiical voice of his, stroking Tech's shoulder with the hand. "It's alright"
Tech pulled back his claws, still staring at the vampire. "You think I chose this, huh?" He was angry now, but not u pfor a fight. He would simply pour back the anger from whence it came, hoping to ligten it. "You think I did this? You think that this is somesort of joke? Well, let me tell you one thing" He pointed his finger at the vampire, wanting to release the energy within, but managing to restrain himself.
"This was none of my doing, in fact, I would rather have died that watching all my friends die, knowing it was my fault. They took me and did this to me, and I'll get them back. You crack one joke about me, and I'll inject you with a shot quicksilver." Tech's logic lay on a different level than most, not only higher, but also along a different path. His insults were accostumed after this. He had studied quicksilver and silver, and he had found they held almost the same mystical energy. He had been unable to come up with a use for this until now. "You hear me?" He finished, the artificial eye seemingly glowing in a stronger crimson than before

Now this is intresting. A mage that didn't alter his body in exchange for power? And not only that, he even said that he'd prefered to die rather than watch the deaths of his friends and yet he kept on living in what he seem to think of as a hell. I wonder how common that is around here. I haven't seen much of this yet but some of it is rather impressive even if they're human.
Then he remembered Roy.
And yet some of it isn't. I wonder where this is going to end.
Vracs only earlier experiences of mages was powerfull priests that just wanted a good position in the church and the ones who were in the society. He became, against his will, curious about this human and wondered how it would evolve. And eventually how its blood line would look. Vrac decided to try and keep an eye on him from now on.

Yeah, Roy really had to learn to controll things. "That's why I'm here. I need to learn controll."
Yeah, that's right. Roy felt no ill will toward Mr.Spookypants. He would be defensive as well, if someone had invaded his mind. But he could hear Vrac's thoughts come uninvited into his mind once more. He mustered as much confidence as he had left to say:
"How do you do that mental shield thing? I've tried simply thinking, like you said you did, and people still read my thoughts."

"I have no shield. There are no defense. When you read a mind you get a feeling of what you read. Am I right? What I do is to let my instincts free inside me and thus they become so strong that you have to pick them up sooner than later. That is what you just experienced, the full instinct of a vampire. Believe me, it's nicer when you see it from a vampires point of view."
At least this guy tried to cover up for that mind reading accident. The least Vrac could do was to show proper manners and help him out a bit.
"I'm afraid that you'll be unable to do that unless you are very, very odd for a human... half human."

Ethan nodded politely at Roy as he stared at the kid, his eyes staring deeply into his eyes with the cold darkness so prevalent in them.
"It is a pleasure to meet you" The man said quickly, his tone indifferent, yet regal.
Soon enough, others began to walk in...Introducing themselves kindly. Ethan nodded to them, before he saw something that caught his eye. It was a sword of some sort, sent down here from the upper academy. While seemingly trash, the sword when looked with closer inspection reveals a fine craftsmanship, one that no simple mortal can achieve without magic. Quickly sending his strings to grapple the blade, Ethan brought it closer to himself... Observing it keenly...
It was gold and runic symbols were placed all over it, definitely not simply mortal made. Hell, Ethan could sense a small magical aura around the blade.... And with it he examined the sword thoroughly as the others did their things.
"Simply a wonder" Ethan said to himself, getting a feel for the steel...

Vrac heard what Ethan said and supposed that it was about some sort of metal piece or something. But he went over to him just in case since not even a technomancer should be strange enough to call a metal wheel or such for "a wonder".
"What's a wonder?"
He asked when he went over and took a look at what Ethan was holding. The sword was beautiful in his eyes. He wondered why it had been down here and he was amazed what those stupid humans could throw away sometimes.
"Now that's a nice sword. How did you find something like that down here?"
