Talbot wasn't about to tell him only two of the dishes had Astrarian in it, so far he hadn't noticed a change- a chill went up her spine at his expression. She twisted her napkin so tight the fabric of it began to tear. Her heart fluttered- warmth spread from her nose to her neck and she bowed her head shyly, she had half expected him to throw something- Mikon's ears perked up and he sniffed the air. Picking up Zula again, he carried her to the table and set her down, hopping over to Talbot's plate he watched her with ambrosia eyes. He squeaked softly to her- in a jumbled version of the language and Talbot nodded, feeding him a bit of the chicken. Mikon fluttered his wings merrily, seeming to do a little dance as he ate. Zula eyed Joseph with big curulean eyes- begging for scraps too, big alligator tears brimming at her eyes. Talbot smiled, Mikon sniffed a comment on begging but Zula continued to stare up at Joseph.

Joseph's own chest was filled with warmth at the girl's reaction. She was so shy, so beautiful, so idnependent. The gunmage found the muscles of his arms aching slightly at the intense desire to hold her. Then, he gaze shifted down to the sweet little mouse in front of him. Giving her a very warm smile he nodded, "Of course little one." he said cutting her a piece of meat, then giving it to her, he rubbed between her ears with his finger. "Sweet little one. Your momma made some delicious food didn't she?" he asked the familiar looking up at Talbot, their eyes meeting once more.
After a coupel moments he went back to eating his food. It was truely an artform the way the girl cooked. The dinner was amazing. Just like she said, he liked the main course even more than the appetizer. Still, even amazed by the food, he longed to hold her in his arms. To feel her lips pressed against his once more. As he looked at he hoped his thoughts were transparent. "Talbot, when we've finished dinner, would you like to go sit for a while? I saw a ridge on the way here that has a great view of the forrest."

Zula squealed in joy and ate quickly, then began hoping about the table- much to Mikon's dissaproval. Finishing the bread and the meat on her plate, with Mikon's help of course, Talbot looked up and smiled, "If you're not in a food coma-"
If his thoughts were anymore transparent she'd be looking through a window, her blush deepened- her teeth meeting her lip for a brief second before Mikon lept across the table, knocking Zula off- the two tumbling about again. Talbot watched, then looked back at Joseph, before bowing her head again, waiting for him to finish as she poked at the green beans.

Taking a moment to watch the mice wrestle, the gunmage turned back to his plate to finish his meal. In his peripherial vision he caught the girl biting her lip, which sent a shiver down his spine. Any trouble he'd gone through to get to the Academy and any that followed, was all justified on this one night. Emptying his plate, he set it aside where she'd placed it aside.
Joseph smiled over at her, his eyes meeting hers; looking into her. "Somehow I doubt that the food is going to make me sleepy. Not while the current company is present of course." he said his glasses glinting in the moonlight, "So, what delicious course is next?"

late, she pulled the last tray, the only one without influence to the center of the table and lifted the led, using the quick movement to hide the beet red coloration to her face. Resting in the center of the tray was a Traditional style Tiramisu. This by far had always been something she made best, dessert- sure everything else she made was more than alright with or without spices but she took her most pride in the sweet things other people seemed to enjoy the most. She rememeber with a giggle how Gunther, a sage born alchemist, had eaten so much dessert he had to more to a desert and lose some weight. She set the lid down and smiled merrily.

Joseph raised an eyebrow as he saw the desert, Tiramisu. It'd been quite a long time since he had anything so rich. Licking his lips almost imperceptabely, he looked up at Talbot. "My my, you know how to treat a man don't you?" he said in a delighted tone. After cutting them both a piece from the dessert, he picked up his fork and took a sample. He closed his eyes with a smile as the taste washed over him. This had been the best meal he'd ever eaten. Still, it was not the highlight of his evening.
Opening his gaze fell upon the beauty across from him. As he continued to eat his slice, he found his eyes drawn to her lips. Everything had tasted so amazing, especially the mythical spice she'd used, but...to taste those lips once more...was what he truely craved.

Taking only a few bites, she realized she had put a little too much cinnamon on the dish- but Joseph didn't seem to notice. Setting her nearly destroyed napkin on her lap, she watched him watch her. It was almost like a game, but- in the games she had grown up with- NO! Now was not the time for thinking about how it used to be! She rested her hand on the table, tonight was nice- she had to admit. He was the first person she had cooked for in a long time. Her gray eyes studied his face, the longing in it was almost catching- though her longing was to make him gain a few pounds by cooking and lording over him as he ate. A giggle escaped her, He could take Mikon's job taste testing. But the thought had not been the source of her giggle, taking her napkin she wiped a little tiramisu from Joseph's chin.

The gunmage found himself smiling at the gesture. Granted everything Talbot did tonight made him smile. Joseph caught her hand as it lowered, his fingers enjoying the smothness of her skin as they touched. "Why thank you." He said simply, giving the back of her hand a small rub from his thumb. Her beautiful features accented by the moonlight were being sculpted into his memory. "I believe I finished. It was indeed an amazing meal. Now Talbot, would you care to go sit with me a while?"

Talbot smiled softly, a blush lighted onto her face as he had held her hand- why did it make her heart flutter when their hands touched? Taking a moment to compose herself, taking her hand away for only long enough to be called a bare moment, Talbot stood up slowly. Mikon and Zula both looked up from their playing and watched them. Zula chittering softly about one thing or another and Mikon huffing loudly as he sprang onto the table and began clearing away plates. Mikon whipped his tail, shooting a warning look at Joseph as Zula squeeked jovially.
Talbot moved to Joseph side, taking his hand in hers and pulling him to his feet with a smile- meant for only him. Zula chittered and sprang onto the table to help Mikon clean up as Talbot led Joseph away from the table and the finished meal.

Joseph smiled, but was rather surprised. Talbot was leading him off to be alone. He almost blushed at the implications. Sure he intended to 'make a move' on her, but had definately not imagined it might go that far. Still, so long as he got to hold her in his arms and taste her lips once more, he'd be happy. Anything beyond that would only prove to elate him to levels he hadn't imagined.
Giving her hand a squeeze the gunmage followed quietly into the woods. He knew more might come from it, but he simply couldn't wait. The moment they were a safe distance away from the over protective wind mouse, he halted. As she did the same, he stepped close, his hands naturally finding their way to her sides. "Talbot, I've been dreaming a long time about this night. I hope you'll forgive me if I seize the moment." he said with a sweet smile before leaning in and pressing his lips to hers; savouring every last sensation it brought him.

She closed her eyes for a long moment, her heart quickened its beat, before she had had the chance to tell him about the mint that grew on the ridge too. Wrapping her arns shyly around his shoulders, she stepped only a little closer. Mikon would have torn Joseph a new eye socket. Breaking the kiss for a moment, "Forgivable."
She smiled, gray eyes studying his blue for a long moment, he held no resemblence to anyone she had ever known. Not in this time she knew him- not one person even came close. She looked away for a moment, was this what she was supposed to be wary of- she looked at him again. Was this what love was? Standing on her toes, tugging lightly on his collar, she returned the kiss.

Joseph had smiled broadly, when she pulled back from the kiss, yet held him as well. At that moment he was the happiest he'd been in a long time. The gunmage didn't think things could get any better as he studied her gray eyes. Then, Talbot had leaned up, kissing him once more; proving him wrong.
To his senses, the wolrd melted around them. Everything falling away into nothingness. No stars, no moon, no trees, no animals, no academy, no Earth...everything sank away into nothingness, leaving the two in privacy to express themselves. Joseph's arms squeezed around her, pulling her gently against him. His eyes closed, he deepened her kiss. If he'd ever been sure of anything in his life, he was sure of this. He loved Talbot Linsorim.
