Remember you're reading a byproduct of the media, and they'll create names for different things. I get my information out of encyclopedias, myths and historical scripts. A damphire is something very specific, allow me to explain. a Dhampire is a child born of a vampire father and a mortal mother, the child must be a boy to be a dhampire (or so legend goes) and because these requirements are met, he has the uncanny ability to see vampires even when disquised, and he has the ability to fight them better than a regular vampire hunter or priest. Buffy, eat your heart out!
Thats one of the reasons the game Bloodrayn pissed me off. They used the name but didnt follow the legend.

you know, you can give him a side mounted katana. I would've done it, but a dhampire with a katana is a little cliche to say the least. Just search up Katana and it will give you a few options for the Ancient Katana
