Junpei Taltos lay on his bed admiring his new decor. Onira had been able to completely change the way his room looked and Junpei was loving every minute of it. On his stomach lay a small ball of flesh and bone, mostly flesh at this point since he was once again being a little glutton. Smiling down his chest at the small creature Junpei reached over and scooped the samll Jhereg up. Then he placed him down on his shoulder and got up.
It was the weekend at Aracane Academy and quite frankly Junpei was bored as hell. He had been studying and practicing all week and now he needed a short but sweet vacation. Thinking about possible destinations Junpei threw 2 sets of clothes, a spell book, his dark arts handbook, and a knife in his duffle bag. That was all he was going to need. As soon as he set the knife down a particular little mountain popped into mind. Smiling to himself Junpei shouldered the bag and then walked out of the room, he was of course going to need to drag someone along for the trip.
Walking down the hallway Junpei smiled as he ran across the room he was looking for. Three knocks and a kick woudl follow and Junpei stood in the doorway of a one Xeryth Varson.
"Come on bud we're going on a little vacation."

"A... a what?"
As if Xeryth had not already been shocked out of his wits by the simple knocking on his door, much less the act of Junpei going ahead and kicking the thing wide open, it was his sudden suggestion, or rather, insistence that the young boy would accompany him on some sort of 'vacation' that surprised him all the more.
In truth, Xeryth had never had anything like a vacation in his life. Although he understood the concept, after all, he may have lived life away from the rest of the world, but he wasn't completely sheltered from the facts of the world, his life had been spent in training rooms most all of his hours, his trainers and COs never once thought to let him go out on any kind of trip outside.
"A vacation, you say? Where to? And..." Xeryth halted his speech, unsure of how best to put forth the question looming most importantly on his mind. "Why... why me?"

Junpei let his hands slip into his pockets as he looked around. This room reminded Junpei of his old one, bland. Hey, if Xeryth didn't complain neither would Junpei, Xeryth was the one who had to live here afterall. Turning back to Xeryth as he finished talking Junpei grinned.
"Why you? Because kid you're the one who needs this most. It'll do you good to get away from life for a while. Trust me, where we're going there won't be a sole to bother us."
Junpei set his bag down and glanced from Xeryth to the closet. He wouldn't be able to weasel out of this, Junpei was taking the shaky kid with him.
"You're not getting out of this so pack up whatever you need and lets go."
Junpei stepped inside the room and closed the door, making sure no one came out into the hall to see why the entire room had just exploded into noise. Junpei could imagine the most either of Xeryth's neighbors ever heard out of this boy was the sound of a mouse squeeking.

It seemed that Junpei was intent on taking Xeryth along with him, wherever he was going, and simply would not take 'no' for an answer. Xeryth, of course, was used to commands by now, and truthfully, this little vacation seemed like it could be a lot of fun. Xeryth, whether he fully realized it or not, really did need some time out in the real world. As big of a change as it was, Xeryth had still gone from completely secluded to partial seclusion, in that he still was far away from the world below.
"Well... alright then..." Xeryth spoke, sitting up from his bed and moving to his closet. His room was very bland, bland and empty. Xeryth had very few belongings, he never really had much at all, and his time outside of D-13 hadn't given him much more. He had just enough to sustain himself: A few clothes, some food, and the like. It was exactly as much as one would expect from a boy like Xeryth.
Looking back over his shoulder to Junpei, Xeryth suddenly started to become excited.
This could actually be fun! Out in the real world, with Junpei here, we could really have a good time!
Caught up in the moment, Xeryth realized that he had a question to ask of his friend, so, he asked it, but not in the medium he should have. Caught up in the excitement of the moment, Xeryth spoke to Junpei directly to his mind.
Junpei, my friend, what is it that I'll need to bring?
After the initial shock would subside, Junpei would soon find one interesting detail about Xeryth: When not using his own voice, but instead his thoughts, it seemed the boy was much more eloquent and confident in himself.

Junpei laughed at the sudden enthusiasm sparked within the boy. He was, in a manner of speaking, like a kid about to go on a class trip. He was excited, he was already talking more, and all in all Junpei was sure the kid would learn a thing or two from this trip.
Then a voice reached out and was inside his head, at first Junpei thought it was Loish being a smartass, but then Junpei realised that that voice, was not Loish's. It was in fact a much nicer and less edgy Xeryth's voice. Junpei's eyes widened a bit in shock and then he broke down into laughter. The kid was inside his head so Junpei had no trouble laughing and taljking at the same time.
I'm glad im used to voices in my head or that would have scared the crap otut of me! Feel free to talk..
A short burst of laughter mentally and Junpei calmed himself down enough to speak. Honestly that was something he had never expected and the shock had caused him to realise just how funny it was. Here Junpei was, talking about how voices in his head were a common thing, and yet he acted as if nothing were strange.
"Feel free to talk telepathically if you like. I have gotten pretty good at it actually, since me and Loish here do it constantly. I can't reach out and contact people, so if you ever wanna talk that way just give me a telepathic.. poke... i guess you might say."
Junpei lowered his hea dnad shook it as he took in a slow, deep breath.
"Let's see, we will be a a fairly cold climate, so be sure to wear something warm, a sweater or a coat wold do. Also, just bring two changes of clothes, we'll only be gone one night so it's not like we're going to be gone forever."
Junpei leaned back against the door and shook his head again.
"I gotta tell ya kid, you just keep on suprising me."

"Well, while I am used to speaking in this manner," Xeryth began in Junpei's mind, hoping he would expect it by this point, smiling genuinely up in his direction before turning back to rummage through his closet, multitasking the physical task of taking some of his warmer clothes, sweatshirts and hoodies and the like, and putting them in a bag, and the mental task of speaking telepathically to Junpei, "I should probably work on my physical speech a bit more. In case you haven't noticed, I find it a bit easier to speak my mind using this medium, pun intended, and perhaps it'd be best to balance it out."
Xeryth turned his head over his shoulder and caught Junpei's eye, winking a bit as he did so. Junpei, while he would have noticed the boy's change in demeanor from regular speech to telepathy in the first message sent across, would most likely be astonished further by the general eloquency of the boy when using his mind.
As he spoke, Xeryth tossed his favorite hoody, a heather grey one, slightly worn but obviously still very comfortable, as well as a few other sets of clothes, into a backpack that he had brought along with him, basically his only luggage that he owned. Slinging it over his shoulder, Xeryth turned to face Junpei.
"Well... where... where to then?" Again, back to that meek little smile.

Junpei blinked a few times as his mind was spoken into directly witha very confident voice. This was not the Xeryth that Junpei knew. Not at all, this boy was FAR different. In the end Junpei only ended up closing hsi eyes and smirking slightly. Maybe letting Xeryth talk in his mind wouldn't be so bad. Afterall they coudl have conversations with each other across the class and no one would no. This could turn out to be fun.
"Very well."
Junpei opened his eyes and watched as Xeryth finished packing up his gear. It seemed he had his entire room in that one backpack, Junpei suddenly felt almost quilty for having all that stuff in his room. He had lots of money thanks to his parents insurance and the fact that he had sold the house, car, furniture, adn everything not important. He had well over half a million now, all in svaings accounts that were secure.
"We're off to Germany. A little mountain on the outskirts of the Alps. It's quite lovely country and we'll have the mountain to ourselves this time of year."
Junpei smiled a bit and then turned to the door, opening it.
"Shall we?"

Xeryth looked around to see if there was anything left to pack up. Upon doing so, however, the young boy realized he hardly had anything left in his room at all. Making a mental note that a room such as this is just another thing that, while he was more than used to such an atmosphere, was just another social iniquity he would have to overcome now that he's out of the Department, Xeryth nodded to the boy he felt he could now call 'friend'.
"Germany, you say? I've... never been there. Of course... there aren't many places I have been..." A small, nervous laugh, the usual quiet one that made him seem as if he was guilty of a major crime just for doing it, or that he was laughing at a joke no one else would laugh at. Letting the laugh subside, Xeryth stepped through the open door, and touched the knob on the outside. Feeling it with not only his palm, but his mind as well, Xeryth 'saw' the inner parts of the lock set's locking mechanisms, and took hold of them with his mind, pressing in all the pinions the lock would have pressed in at the correct spot and locking the door mentally. Looking up at Junpei after doing so, he kind of shrugged and grinned, about like a little kid would after doing something he was especially proud of.
"Make things a little easier to do, you know. Standard training... normally an entry tactic... however... I prefer the opposite..."
Shrugging, Xeryth awaited Junpei to leave his room and lead the way to the vacation spot.

Junpei nodded to Xeryth as they walked out and Xeryth locked the door with his mind, neat trick. Junpei needed something like that, then again if he got good enough at black magic he could just set up an alarm system on his room to summon Harlow should anyone break in... although that would require time and energy the young mage didn't have. He was still trying to figure out how to enchant his ceilign to follow the stars alignments.
"You got two options for how we get there. A. we do it my way and use a teleport circle. B. We use the gates surrounding the academy to get there the long way. Either way it'll involve teleporting by magic."
Junpei turned and looked Xeryth in the eyes, hoping h would see that Junpei was very capable of the first option.
"Screw it, we're gonna go by teleportation circle. Follow me bac to my room and we'll get set up."
Turning and walking down the hall Junpei headed for his room. He was confident Xeryth woudl follow and once to his room Junpei opened the door and revealed the very customized room to Xeryth. Blood red walls, a black ceiling, what appeared to be a grey tile floor. Redwood furniture everywhere adn a beautiful four post bed at one side. The whole look was completed as three piles of books adorned his desk and the area next to it. On a tack board to the left of the desk were parchment scrolls in latin and english shwoing different spells that Junpei was working on, one of which showed a particularly nasty looking demon.
"OK, itll just be a moment for me to get my chalk and the book i need for this spell. Take a seat if you want."

Xeryth quietly followed Junpei to his room, and, upon walking into it, was amazed at the custom job the room had. Truly, it was amazing in comparison to his own, with the colored walls, floors, and ceilings, and all the things about. It seemed Junpei owned quite a bit more than Xeryth did, and as such, stuff was littered about the room, giving the place a magical, yet still very lived-in, feel. Xeryth smiled faintly as he saw it, remarking quietly as he did so.
"I see the things magick can do for a room are as wondrous as the things it can do in the rest of the world..."
As Junpei went off to get the necessary components for the spell, Xeryth shrugged quietly and took a seat in a nearby chair Junpei had on hand, the desk chair. Looking about at the cork-board nearby, Xeryth's eyebrows raised at the sight of demon on one of the parchment scrolls.
Well, if that isn't a rather vicious creature, he thought to himself.
Looking over to Junpei, he asked, "Are you proficient enough with this spell to transport us both, Junpei?"

"Uhh hehehe.. here's the thing.. this is the first time i've ever used this spell, and i have no idea if it'll work. I've heard that sometimes people com out combined together or only half gets transported, so we'll ahve to see now won't we?"
Junpei scurried through his closet and found the chalk, book, and parchment he needed. Quickly moving to the center of the floor he started drawig out a symbol that looked very much like a summoning seal, only this time it had Junpei and Xeryth's names on the floor. Looking from book to floor then back again Junpei shook his hea dand erased a couple symbols then redrew them in opposite spots. After a couple minutes of doing this whoel process several time Junpei nodded and looked back at Xeryth.
"Ready to go?"
Junpei said closing the book, throwing the book on the desk and then placed their bags in the center of the circle. Nodding once more Junpei grabbed Loish off the desk and set him on his shoulder. The whoel process had maybe taken five minutes to complete adn now they were ready to go, assuming Xeryth would get in the circle.

Xeryth's brow furrowed and his eyes widened a bit as soon as Junpei started his little explanation. By the time he had finished it, a set of pursed lips were added onto Xeryth's rather worried-looking expression. Shrugging slowly after a long moment's wait, Xeryth finally decided that, as frightening as it sounded, Junpei seemed to be a very capable caster of spells, and he felt like he could trust him.
"Well... alright..."
Xeryth stepped forward, entering the circle with Junpei. He said nothing more, but merely looked about the room, hoping with all that he had that none of him was going to get left here while the rest transported away to Germany.
(Sorry for the shortness, but there's not much else to do or say here.)

"Alright, here we go!"
Junpei set the book on the table and brought his hands to his sides, closing his eyes as he did. It started as a low chant but then began to get louder, untill magic was mixed in and it sounded as if it were comining from everywhere at once. Then, bright white light, then grassy meddow. Junpei opened an eye to see a forest, a grasy meedow and best of all, a mountian summit dead center behind Xeryth.
"We're here...."
Junpei threw off the backpack he had slipped on and let it hit the ground. It it was all his stuff as well, and a tent to boot. Spinning around once Junpei took in the refreshing mountain air and smiled. The air was thin nough to be fresh but thick enough to be easily breathable. Junpei grabbed up his bag after one spin and grabbed the tent out of it. He set the bag back downa dn set to work setting up the large four man tent. When completed it would look very nice, with a mian chamber and then rooms on either side. Also in the backpack was stuffed four pillows, blankets, and two thin matresses that filled with air themselves. All of this was set up in a matter of minutes, Junpei had learned it a long time ago on his first vacation here.
"So Xeryth, what do you thnk?!"

(Fix your name, 'Yukio.')
"Wow.... it's..."
Xeryth looked about at the countryside about him, wide eyed. Yes, he hadn't been out much, indeed.
"It's beautiful..."
Grinning broadly, Xeryth surveyed the camp that Junpei had set up. Indeed, he had done so quickly and efficiently, and everything looked to be in order. After a few moments of silence, Xeryth again regarded Junpei.
"Well... I suppose that it's just you and me out here, then... what do you propose we do?"
Xeryth's eyebrow raised as he spoke. He wasn't used to much else but confinement, yet, and this was vastly different from that in almost every way.

At Xeryth's words Junpei smiled to himself and turned around, spreading his arms.
"Xeryth bud, if you want to, go ahead and go practice for all I care. RIght now I am goign to sit down right in this field, and read a book. You have no idea how good this feels to me. Of course for you this may prove to be a godsend."
Junpei proceeded to grab said book and flop down right in the field, Loish taking off to go do god only knew. Junpei woudl meanwhiel start reading about spell creation and mana control. Hell he may be out here but thanks to the wide open field, he could practice magic safely.
