Conflict.
That one word stirred a variety of emotions within Darian as he paused at the front door considering what Mayon said. Getting Shea back safely? Yes that much was obvious. There was no doubt in his mind that there were plenty of things that just had to be done. He wasn't sure what it was yet but, he would figure out something. He tapped his fingers against the door for a moment sorely wishing he had his Forest Raven on him but, instead he simply opened the door finding it unlocked. The oddness of it all made him frown. Were they expected? Was all of this just a hoax? Was this just some cruel joke that would only backfire and cause more pain? More questions went through the young Gun Mage's mind as he considered the possibilities that could be done. The man was powerful Darian had no doubt about that having seen the abilities firsthand. Yet at the same time Darian wondered.
It just doesn't feel right. Like something else is being tugged at me. Yet what is it? Something is going on; yet, I'm not sure what it is. Shea...
"We'll search the ground floor first and then the second floor."
He gazed around the opulence of the entrance hall for a moment remembering it. With an easy grace he searched the ground floor finding nothing. Each room that showed nothing only further served to irritate Darian who had little patience sometimes. He wanted Shea back. That much was obvious yet he knew he had to be methodical about the whole thing. Acting in his full temper wasn't going to get her back in fact it might hurt her. He sighed and rubbed his temples for a moment regaining his mood as he walked up a large flight of stairs. If Mayon was following then ok but, he didn't know. Darian had the weapons put up for now not yet drawing them. He was fast on the draw it was what he did best. Would it be good enough to save Shea? He wasn't sure. Darian wasn't sure about much at the moment as he looked at the hall. There were many doors yet logic told him thathe wanted to search the doors facing the front first.
A twist an opening and Darian opened the door on the first try. The door that contained it's beautiful opulence and a fire in the corner. A delicate hand was holding a cup of tea and Darian focused on that for a moment. It seemed familiar. He tapped his fingers against the gun's grip for a moment before stepping inside searching for traps nearby.
"You took awhile Darian but, I see your intuition hasn't dulled any..." A voice said yet it sounded familiar which made Darian shiver for a moment.
...
Darian saw the cloaked figure standing beside the chair where the delicate hand was yet...something was odd. Carefully he took a few steps forward finding no threatening movements from the cloaked figure as he began to make his way into the room towards the chair.
