Grey was happy, happier than he had been in a long time. He was home, not the farm where he had grown up or th places he had been afterwards, but the home of his mother, the origin of her blood-line. "Sweet mother Ireland" He would whisper to himself, marvelling at the beauty of it. It wasn't New York, but it had a certain charm to it, and a hell of a lot of old power, energies and secrets only waiting to be discovered. "Limerick" His lips split, his smile altering into something more of a warning than he show of happiness "Stabbing City, this hsould be fun"
'Stabbing City' was Limericks nickname, due the amount of peopel getting stabbed to deathof a nightly basis. Grey looked forward to see if this place had any challanges for him, but if it didn't he wouldn't be one to shy away from just beating soem muggers or, far better, rapists sense-less. He would, of course, have to feed on them afterwards, but he no longer required their flesh to stay alive, only their blood. Sometimes, unlife was good to a vampire

"Heya, Grey. Long time no see, eh?"
Roy stepped out of the shadows, anbd people seemed to not notice him at all as they walked by. As well they shouldn't, since he was clouding thier minds as they passed, and they really diddn't see him. He was invisible to normal humans, at the moment, and they also couldn't hear him. He might as well not exist, to them.
"Don't react to me just yet, or you'll look nuts. Stupid humans can't see OR hear me, at least while I cloud their minds. C'mon, into the alleyway, where we can talk, then maybe kick some mugger ass."
His hair had been cut to shoulder length, and he was wearing black leather boots, black cloth pants, and a black sleeveless shirt. He had a shortsword on his belt, and a "Holster" holding twelve throwing daggers. He also had a leather pouch holding his crystal ball.
He smirked, one eye hidden by his unkempt hair. He had changed gretly, and rey would easily notice.

While Grey did turn around at the sound of Roy's voice, he was grateful that he didn't speak before Roy did. The last thing he wanted was people around him to notice him and think he was nuts. People tended to keep an eye on nut-cases when they were around, and Grey didn't need that attention
When they were in the alley, where people wouldn't be able to see whether Grey was actually speaking with someone. Roy had changed, it wasn't hard to see, in the way he looked, but there was also a different aura around, not just stronger, no, it had definitly changed in nature. "Well then, it has indeed been long. I wouldn't mind going around and dealing out a bit of just punishment with you, but first, I would like to know what I have missed out on. I have been gone for a long time, after all"

"Heh...just punishment?"
Roy shook his head.
"I've learned tow things, Grey. The Balance comes before justice, and that sometimes you just shouldn't stick your neck out. Sometimes people don't WANT to be helped. If you help them anyway, it's more of a hinderance."
He let out a sigh, fiddling with the leather holster on his left leg that held his throwing knives.
"I've been gone as well, my friend. I've heard of angels attacking, and I've possibly fallen in love with a woman, but pther than that, nothing much has happened. As for swift, brutal justice.....there's a gang of Grags camping in the forest my village used to be in, several miles away from here. If you'd like to help me take care of them."
He leaned against the wall of the alleyway, and figured he'd need to explain The Balance to Grey in a few minutes. He would not invade a friend's mind, and for some reason, he trusted Grey.

((OOC: Sorry, it's not as good as I hoped it would be. Kida brain-dead these days))
"Say what you will friend, but I will not stand by and watch as people are robbed or.. worse. If it upsets the balance to intervene in such matters, then I will have nothing to do with that balance. If law upsets reason, then it is not to be followed. At least, I won't" Grey loosened up after that, grinning excusingly. "Excuse me Roy, I didn't mean to have my opinions come out so strongly. But, until I see reason to do otherwise, I will continue to as I have always done"
"Grags, you say? I can't say that I've met creatures who called themselves by that name yet, but it couldn't hurt to. Well, not me, anyway. Take me there then, and tell what has happened in the time we have been apart. I can't wait to fight by your side" Their's was a strange friendship, one that had started out as hatred and had now become trust, based on a mutual understanding. Grey hoped it would last, for one should never shun a powerful friend and ally

"Heh...the Grags can wait. They move only on tuesdays. Don't ask. As for the balance not having justice, I'm only talking about certain things...I'll explain some time. Suffice it to say, the earth needs balance of both good and evil, or else existance itself will end. Fortunately for us, there is plenty more evil evil than good. Means we'll always have something to fight, and it'll never get boring."
His sword flashed out from his belt, and he stabbed a man that had come to a stop behind him, and extended his power to cloud minds to cloud Grey from the humans as well. He picked a purse from the man's dying fingers, and flung it out into the street. A girl of about ten picked it up, walking into the alleyway.
What....happened? Who did this? Anyway.....if you're there, thank you. This is all I have, and....thank you.
When she left, he smiled. An honest smile, though, instead of his usual sardonic smirk.
"Bastard grabbed her purse and ran. I have a new policy nowadays....no mercy for people like that. Anyway, let's go get a drink or something. I can make myself look human to them, and I could really use some beer and nachos. I'll buy."

Grey had been about to continue the debate with what little he had learned since he and Roy parted ways, not because they wanted to, but Grey had felt compelled to leave, something deep had called to him. He had met a being the like of which he had never thought could be, and they had spoken about this exact matter. Grey would tell Roy of this later, if he didn't already know. Sometimes, there was just no telling what he knew and what he didn't.
When a man came running into the alley the first thing Grey sensed was that something was wrong with him. He had done something, that was easy to see from his rapid breath and the desperate look in his eyes, but before Grey had time to take any action, Roy had done just that. Grey smiled as the man fell to the ground, seeing another pointless life ending, that it would hurt no other life again.
"And here I thought you'd just spoken against that sort of action. I'm happy to see that you've changed Roy, I always liked you, but you tended to be too soft for your own good. It is good to see that you've begun thinking more... realistically. And yes, let's get hammered, I haven't had a drink in a week. There's a nice pub just around the corner from here, run by the Ryans, and the pub goes by the same name. I'm sure they'll be happy to meet a friends of mine, especially of the 'unusual' kind" The Ryans were one of the pubs who accommodated customers a... other than mundane nature, especially those of Irish background. They were allowed to do this because they were not mundane themselves, a family tree where the features of elves, leprechauns, faries and several other species were farily common "Come on, the first round is on me" Grey said, putting his arm around Roy's shoulders and leading him to their destination. Their kind were allowed into the back rooms, through a door that mundane people could not see or feel. It made the separation of mundane and supernatural customers very easy

Grey led him into the bar, Roy putting his arm around his friend's shoulder without fear of a vision being forced on him now. He was powerful in the ways of the mind, now, and could block such things out with very little effort.
"Nice place...."
Roy let out a low whistle. He had never seen a few of these races off the floating island before. Faeries, Pixies, Brownies, and even the odd Kobold, all laughing cheerfully and drinking. He and Grey were motioned to sit at a table by Pixie woman.
Roy and Grey had had a..rather rocky start. Roy had been the naive "Save the world from evil" type. Trying to kill any demon or vampire he came across, and those sorts of things. He now realized how stupid he had really been.
"I was an idiot then...unwilling to listen to anyone, and only holding my own beliefs as true. When I awakened my powers as a seer, I was forced to become more open minded...and I've seen the evils of this world, now....more than anyone can know, or comprehend. I still fight evil, but I observe the consequences first.......perhaps my interference isn't needed? Perhaps it can be dealt with?"
Then he let out a sigh.
"And sometimes, there are necesary evils. In some cases, you can only let things run their course. Although the reason I stabbed that assfuck was because he was going to commit rape and murder later. However....I see past the action, Grey. Sometimes, who you save can turn out worse than who you save them from......it hurts, but it's true."
Now he smirked.
"Now's not the time for depressing revelations, though. For now, we get smashed and gorge ourselves on nachos and whatever bar food this place has!"
At this, a leprecaun at the next table shouted.
Hear Hear! Hey, thier first round's on me! And some nachos, too!

Grey listened to Roy as they moved through the bar, not showing it but taking in most of what he said. Grey had always known that one could not judge good or evil based on a person's species, but sometimes he could not blame people for doing it either. There were times when he had killed pretty much everything that came close to him.
But he had never really given thought to the deeper efects of his actions. He would kill whoever was doing something they should not, and if th person he saved turned out to be just as bad, or worse, he would kill that person too. It made th world nice and simple, but the reality was far less simple. Grey did not kill that much anymore. He would usually beat the living shit out of whoever angered him, and if he caught them doing something bad a second time, then he would kill them. But it was like th joy had been taken out of it these days. He haad begun wondering, thouhg not acting upon, the things Roy was speaking off, but he did not know what to do with these thoughts. Roy had the luxury of at least having an idea of what effects his actions would have, but Grey... he only had his instincts, and they did not quite cover it at this point. For now he had decided to carry on as he always had but recently.. those blows he rained down upon others had begun to hurt himself.
but when all this seriusness turned ino a comment about drinking, Grey decided to elt hismelf sweep along. Tonight was a night of reunion between two friends, and there was no better to celebrate that than with enough alcohol to preserve a pre-historic dinosaur "My thoughts exactly, let's have a go at their stock, shall we?" Grey laughed, he was happy now, it was good to see a friendly face again. A leprechaun, as they usually did, payed for their first round. Few knew how to enjoy and stimulate the atmosphere of a pub better than a leprechaun. "Cheers mate" Grey replied, ordering a 'bloody-mist' for himself. "May the enemies of Ireland never meet a friend!" He yelled and raised his mug in a toast to every single patron. "Now, let's drink as though we'll never drink again. Slangevar!" Grey's drink went down before most people had even raised their glasses, and he gratefully accepted a refill from a smiling, blue-haired elf. Tonight was going to be a good night

"I'll take a pint of whisky. Not a glass, not a shot. A pint. And an order of nachos, please."
The Elna, elves from a realm called Torla, were nearly immune to alchohol. Therefore, they had to drink a LOT to get any effect from it at all. Roy had inherited this from his elven half, and intended to get piss drunk. And eat nachos.
Lots of nachos.
Sweet, sweets nachos. The cheesey food of the gods.
The food and drink arrived, and people murmered a bit, as e raised the pint and drained half of it in one draft. It burned going down, in a good way, as he began carefully eating cheese covered chips, his eyes alive with the first real happiness he had known in a long time, other than with Dementia.
"Aye...great whisky....good nachos, too. They just got a new repeat customer."

"Good to hear" Grey replied, feeling the mix of blood and alcohol mixing in his cold blood-stream "Perhaps I can talk them into giving me some discount, then" He grinned and patted Roy on the shoulder in a way that was friendly, and at the same time all but gentle. Grey drank quickly, something you werer able to do when you could simply turn off your taste-buds.
Grey was beginning to show signs of the alcohol, swaying slightly as his muscles relaxed and his tongue loosened some too, both his accent and his stories flowing more freely than before. "And then the fuck has the fucking nerve to come up to me, the day after I beat the shit out of him for muggin' some poor lad, and he says he's brought some friends to 'even the score'. Was fun to see the look on his face when all his frinds were on the ground bleedin', tho"
Party all night, sleep all day, never have a hang-over and never get sick from drinking. Being a vampire sure could be fun
