Appearance:
Hair:
-- Minji has short dark blue, deep purple like hair. Originally, it's a dark brown like color, but ever since her parents passed away, she began dying her hair a different color - the memory was just a pain in the arse, because she looked so much like them. Although some think that a mere difference in hair color wouldn't make much of a difference, you'd be quite surprised. Her hair is layered several times, and she has front and side bangs that come up to her eyes. She takes very good care of her hair, trimming it every time it gets too long, or if there are split ends. She doesn't really care about how she looks, she just wants to be healthy physically, since she's a bit unhealthy mentally.
Eye:
-- Minji has dark brown eyes, not much of a surprise, is there? Her eyes are hidden from her dark blue-purple like hair, so it is quite difficult to look into her eyes, unless her bangs are moved over to the side. One thing about her eyes is that they're quite lifeless - you can't really tell what she's thinking, or if she's even thinking or not. Her eyes seem to doze off a little, and she tends to just randomly stare at an object for a long period of time, without knowing; also known as spacing out. She also has bad eyesight, therefore, she has clear and colored contacts, as well as glasses. Most of the time, however, you'll find her wearing clear contacts, as she dislikes the idea of people knowing of her bad eyesight.
Personality:
Inside Battle:
-- Her eyes turn into a darker shade of brown, because when in battle/combat, she is very serious. Her eyes flick with intensity and seriousness, very cautionate of her surroundings and her opponent. She's a lot more focused then usual, and can be very dangerous when she has a weapon with her as well - possibly even more dangerous if she uses her magic. She never speaks, then again, she never speaks outside of battle either. She's a silent girl, who only talks to those she knows like her foster friends, Ghiste and Scith.
Outside Battle:
-- Being a "shy" girl she is, she never talks. Only to those she knows, like her foster family, and she mutters a word every once in a while. To strangers, she is absolutely silent unless the stranger helped save her life, or some other bullcrap - then she says thank you in someway. She isn't completely hopeless when it comes to talking, she just choses not to. She keeps an emotionless gaze on her face, yet her eyes don't help much with figuring her out either. Another thing to note about her is that she has a split personality of some sort - some kind of "demon" that entered her; a curse that goes down the family line. Minji knows very little about this, and the "voice" can get quite an annoyance. Whenever "she" - yes, it takes on a role of a female - takes over, she is known to be quite a masochist; outgoing, very lustful, loves pain.
History:
-- Minji was once a happy girl, living a perfectly normal life with her father, Elliot Étoile, and her mother, Jamie Park. She's known about her powers ever since she was four, when she found out she could do odd things with them. She asked her mother about this, and they told her the truth - Minji was born with the mixed powers between her mother and father, but because she was a mix "breed", her powers wouldn't be the strongest, but because the powers were almost like the other, Minji would able to do well if she practiced hard enough. However, Minji's parents told her not to tell anyone about this special..."power". She didn't know why at the time, but she soon found out when she was was seven and a half.
She was in her bedroom, trying to fall asleep, but the sleep wouldn't come. She had this nasty feeling in her stomach, and so she got up from bed, and began walking towards her door to go into her parents room. That is, until someone burst through their front door, killing her parents in a flash. Minji didn't know it then because her hand was still on the door handle, too shock to move - her parents were highly paid assassins. Who would've known? Her own parents. Murderers. A shiver ran down Minji's spine - of course. They would make the perfect assassins. Those were the reasons why Minji was home schooled, why they never let her leave the house, why they never let her have any friends.
The door opened to her room, and a man, roughly around 6'1 towered over the young girl. She looked up at him, then directed her eyes towards the dead bodies - her parents. The man stepped in front of her to stop her from looking at the bodies, but he was a little too slow. Almost as if wanting Minji to see the bodies, almost as if wanting her to know what they had done to her parents. And yet, she felt nothing. Empty? Sure, but other then that? Nothing. No hatred, no revenge, nothing. She was blank, and she had nothing more to give, nor to receive. The following day, she went to the orphanage.
At the orphanage, she met a boy named Scith, and then a boy named Ghiste, who came months later. The two were her best friends, and she got along well with them. Minji was never one to get along with the other girls - they talked to much, and all they ever talked about were boys and make-up? Not interesting, really. Although, even though Minji already had her powers, she spoke of them to no one, so really, no one knew except a selective adults who took care of her. When they got older, around fifteen - Minji was still fourteen, turning the age of fifteen in a couple of months - Ghiste left them. He had gotten into a fight, and was forced to leave the orphanage and care for himself. Of course, losing a best friend was bad enough, but she remained calm - she somehow knew one day, they'd meet again. The three of them. And they did.
When Minji turned eighteen, she literally bumped into Ghiste. She didn't recognize him at first, but it seemed he recognized her. She mentioned to him about Arcane Academy, and at first, he didn't seem to interested, but after mentioning Scith was going, he changed his mind. After she turned sixteen did she begin telling people about her power, but she didn't tell them when she got them. When they asked, she simply shrugged, not bothering to tell them.
Recently, in the past couple of months Minji has been at this school, she began hearing a voice. Many doctors she's been to believe that she's schizophrenic, yet Minji herself does not believe she is. Sure, she has been lonely for the past years and months, but why in the world would she create her other self to be so...ruthless, and sadistic? It just didn't make any sense to her. And now, she is learning to cooperate with the voice and is ...(Continue when I get home from school)
Style:
-- Darkness/Shadow Manipulation: Minji has the power to manipulate the dark - a thick, black like mist - or manipulate shadows - whether it's for hiding or to scare someone off. Her power comes from the Vatican, where her mother was a Darkness manipulator, and her father, a shadow. Put the two together, and you get Minji.
Strengths:
Physically:
-- Minji is a little speed demon. Her passion for running is great. She loves to jump and stay active, which is a good thing for her, because it makes it harder for her opponent to land a hit on her. She is also quite insightful when it comes to reading other people's moves, which makes a wonderful combination. Speed and the ability to read others moves before the attack or blow actually hits, giving Minji time to block the attack, or dodge it, if her body can keep up with her mind. She has excellent hand-eye coordination, which allows her to make a hit with a weapon if she has to.
Mentally:
-- Working alone has its ups and downs. Being a quite, emotionless, cold-hearted, alone kind of a girl, she dislikes it when others are working with her. The other person can only get in the way of her thoughts, or cut through them. She likes to be able to hear her own thoughts, which is a good thing, and she likes to be alone because it's a lot more peaceful. More tranquil. No one to bother her is what she enjoys, and a bothersome person is just quite an annoyance for Minji. Of course, she doesn't show it, and she barely knows how it feels to be annoyed, because her lack of emotions, but she does know a thing or two about tranquility.
Weaknesses:
Physically:
-- Minji is a pretty weak girl, lacking strength in both her upper and lower body areas. That doesn't matter though, because she relies on her weapons when she fights. Her punches and kicks are pathetic, which is why she uses long range and short range weapons instead. Another thing - she can't really last too long in a fight - one very good blow to the gut, and Minji will be out in seconds. She gets tired easily, because she has a somewhat of a low stamina, but she words on it on a daily basis to get it higher, though, it doesn't really seem to be working.
Mentally:
-- Minji's problem is that she does not go too well with others. Being the silent, anti-social, emotionless girl she is, she's always found by herself. Sure, there may be a couple of occasions when she's with Ghiste and Scith, but that's the three of them were still together. Now that Ghiste left the orphanage and Scith was somewhere else, it's hard to hang around them, especially because she has no idea where they go off to. Minji doesn't want to be a burden, so she keeps away by herself, if needed. She has trouble making friends, not that she wants any either. Back-stabbing friends just don't seem too exciting for her - she'd rather have herself stabbing the other persons back, then the other person stabbing her. She's constantly confused about the emotions that don't exist in her life - you may think that's quite impossible, but surely enough, it is.
Spell List:
Darkness Falls: This spell allows her to manipulate the dark and surround herself and her opponent so they would both fight blind. But because Minji is already used to the dark, she may have a slight advantage.
Blanket: Or, instead of covering the both of them, she covers her opponent with a black mist, making them completely blind. She makes it almost as if the space around them is getting smaller, and smaller, making the opponent feel claustrophobic.
Hallucination: By manipulating the shadows, she is able to shape them into a cat, or other things that she's seen. This is particularly only used to scare people off, especially if Minji wants to be alone.
Sleepover: You know how some may travel between shadows? Minji isn't able to do that yet, but if she needs somewhere to hide, the shadows are her number one solution. But that's not what she means - for offense, she can literally drag a person into the shadows with her, leaving them in there for a long period of time.
Liquefy: Not what it actually means - this means that Minji can enter through the shadows, and end up somewhere completely different. This helps for traveling, and for fighting purposes.
Flying Daggers: This is where Minji combines her shadow and darkness manipulating skills, sharpening them, and making them soar quickly through the air - if it hits her opponent, it can easily cut through their skin, and scratch metal, depending on the speed they're going.
Weapons/Gear:
She has a silver blade strapped to her wrist, the blade tinted with poison - it has a leather bounding on the handle, and underneath the leather bounding is her name carved into the wood.
