[OOC: Sorry for being late... Really got dragged into a load of trouble.]
It was the big day! The day where he would head on his first official mission. Or else he was the subject of a prank so sinister that he would harm Celeste if she had done it. Then again, he was insane in so many ways that bumping his leg against a desk would result in him smiling or even drooling on the floor. Angra, not the most normal student in the world, probably the least normal. He got dressed. To the pleasing of some younger girls who had seen him standing in his boxers reading the note on his door. They hadn't found it funny to see him dressed like that.
He opened the fridge and looked over the supplies. Looking over it he only found a sodawater, the rest was unknown to him, and he didn't even dare to touch the wiggly stuff stuck in the corner. He left the room under great rush. He had something to do before he got there. He skipped by his girlfriends house, slipped in a note saying where he would be and whatever else that might explain where he had gone. Taking some calm steps down the hallway he whistled some unknown tunes. The reason for him being so happy, he had one hell of a headache after last night. He knocked the door. Then he opened the door he found some other people in there and completely disregarded them for now. He bowed. He had seen enough movies to know that such procedures was common among people from eastern Asia.
"Sorry, had an errand to run."
He quietly scouted the room for people, paying more attention to the minor details this time. Boy, boy, and a girl. Those who would 'accidentally' die during this mission. Unless they could be persuaded of course and definitely if they wouldn't give up on the artifact. He would love this mission, he hoped. He found a seat on the floor near one of the very small tables. His eyes scouting the dojo for stuff, then he just fixed them on the old master. Dirty thoughts of impaling him with a spear danced in his mind.

Today was the day of the mission; the day that the old man had assigned. Darts Walked out of his room without his faithful companion on his shoulder. Darts had sent him out for errands, as he didn’t feel like listening to Dusk all day. Darts walked down the halls following the directions on his scroll. After finding the door, Darts knocked and then walked in.
At first glance, Darts saw everyone there was to see. He saw the man who was running this whole mission and the students that would be with him. Darts didn’t care about his “comrades” as of yet. But he did have to make sure to get him on his side later on. While looking at the people, Darts noticed one man. This man was one that Darts knew.
The priorities came first. Darts turned to the leader of the bunch and gave a sly bow. “Konnichiwa” Darts said in a sinister tone. Afterwards, Darts then turned to the man he knew, walked over, and sat beside him. He then turned and looked at his acquaintance. Darts motioned a nod towards this man and greeted him with his name. “Angra.” This was calm yet stern. Darts also guessed that Angra had the same idea about these people that Darts did.
OOC: Sorry for the shortness.

There was once a saying that clearly said that if you put forth the effort then God would reward you in the end. Lanji had heard the call for volunteers to aide on what could potentially be a very important mission and so he had signed up. To his pleasure he had seen that the angel of the forest his light Midori had signed up as well. He had yet to see her wings yet but, he was a patient person he knew it all came in time. He gave a small smile as he began putting on his armor opting for the full plate knowing on a mission he needed protection. He knew that Midori would be dissapointed that he wasn't wearing lighter armor but, on a potentially dangerous mission plate was the way to go. He shifted and easily began slipping into the armor. A buckler here, a strap there, a snap here, a click there. Soon the armor was on and Lanji attached the cape to the shoulder pauldrons.
A soft hoot and a flap of ghostly wings and Tacet was soon on his arm gaurd that he held out he nodding gravely at the owl. He snapped his fingers almost forgetting but, he wasn't going to forget to where IT. He shifted and sat Tacet on a nearby perch for her as he removed his gauntlets and picked up the handkerchief that Midori had made for him. His fingers ran over the soft fabric for a moment and he put it around his neck and easily tucked it in slightly. She would see it when he wasn't wearing his helmet. He let Tacet hop back on as he doffed his gaunlets again his helmet hanging by a special belt loop. In fact he was more heavily armored then usual two large belt backs carrying spare crossbelt ammunition, holy water, throwing blades of silver and cold iron, and a few other odds and ends to ensure a success. His shield easily resting on a strap where he could easily draw it his crossbow and sword on either hip.
Now we shalt go.
Lanji strode through the halls of Arcane Academy with purpose as he soon made his way to the meeting room. He studied the others. Many of them seemed good-natured but, his own senses twitched when he layed eyes on Darts and Angra. Lanji was in full armor and the dark warning look he gave both of them showed that he was very alert. Still he bowed at Master Benkai a formal bow barely marred by the armor so well taken care of it was. It was obvious Lanji could not follow the full traditional sense in his armor but, that was all right.
"My apologies for the lateness Master Benkai, I had an unforseen delay this morn and it delayed me approaching a readiness," Lanji said calmly as he made his way over to where Midori was kneeling his heart swelling at the sight of her. He removed his gauntlets putting them on special chinks on his belt to hold them for now and ran his fingers along Midori's cheek and neck.
"Good day my heart," he murmured in her ear after he took a knee and leaned forward to whisper in her ear his hand running soothingly against her cheek.

Seeing a sinister man with sunglasses walk in, bow, and make an excuse which practically nullified any apology. Master Benkei only nodded. Another one came, bowed, and gave his greetings. Benkei nodded again. The third, a knight, someone who came prepared and armed. This one, too, made excuses. Benkei nodded a third time, tiresome of excuses. Regardless, they were here, and most ready. "Yuichi, Sen..." Benkei motioned to two of his students in the next room with his right arm. A little boy, Sen, and his older sister, Yuichi, entered the room carrying trays. On these trays, cups of tea. Yuichi and Sen placed a cup of tea on each of the Academy students' desks, and made their exit. "Please, drink," Benkei announced. This tea calmed minds. A calm mind understands things much more clearly. This was the opportune moment to explain the reason of their arrival.
"You have signed-up for this... "mission" on terms of an agreement that you shall bring me a sacred relic. As you know, you will be going to China. The center of China, to be exact, to a small village surrounded by mountains called Guilin. The item is not there, but it is the closest destination I will be able to take you. You will travel outside the mountains to find a shrine. This shrine is very far off." Benkei sipped some of easy tea. "In between the mountains and this shrine is an area of China that dwells on old tradition. By this, I mean that they are still in a warring era. Their military is of ancient tradition, and their weapons are crude. Two armies, the Ja Tou Gwan Yi, or Legion of the Sun, and the Sheng Jie Bao hu Zhi , or Protectors of Jie. The Legion of the Sun seeks this relic for power, as where The Protectors of Jie protect the relic, as it belonged to former Ancient Chinese Emperor Jie. These two armies fight with spears, swords, bows, and they wear armor. This forgotten section of China chose not to forget tradition, although change, like modern day Eastern China, was available. This item, called Ku Cha yi Sheng, is great in its magical power. I am old, and things are difficult for me, especially magic. Tao magic is one of the most difficult. Without concentration, I cannot cast. This item will help me concentrate. Upon your return, you will be heavily rewarded... Upon your return, mind you." Master Benkei was not sure that everyone in here had the potential he was looking for, but with his two additional members, it would almost ensure their return.
"Failure to not bring me this item is not acceptable, even if you die, be sure that your fellow partners return. Now, the Academy would not provide me with a grown, mature team, which is why I had sent for students. However, two of the teachers that had been interested in this sort of task willingly volunteered." Two men entered from the right side, just as Yuichi and Sen had. Yue Yuan, Master Tattoo Mage:
...and Muteki Yokuya, combat instructor.
Both men bowed down low to Master Benkei. On their rise, Master Benkei signaled his hand and nodded to them. They turned to the students. Yokuya, a former military officer, spoke, "We are to protect you. You are the primary means of returning this relic. We cannot be sure that you can defeat an enemy of old. However, you may have to fight. Most of you will. Our full protection is at your hands." Yokuya bowed to the students. Yue's subject was already spoken for in Yokuya's speech.
Master Benkei took the floor once more, "Now, as I mentioned, you will be sent to China. Your return will be through the same portal in Guilin. On the other side, an old friend of mine named Master Chen will be the portal master that awaits you. If he is dead, you will not be able to return through a portal. However, Guilin's mountains should keep out the armies." Master Benkei continued to mix the herbs with the sand. By now, the dry leaves had been crushed dust in the sand. He reached in for a handful of this sand. He blew the sand into thins air, where the rest of the sand in the small sand-pit followed in a slow, twirling steam. It crushed itself so dense, creating a wormhole-like portal. "Enter here... the portal will remain open as long as the sand does not run out or that I am not dead." There was much sand, even in such a small sand-pit as the one in front of him.
Yue and Yokuya entered the portal, materializing on the other side. There, a small shack in Guilin was their point of arrival. It was wooden and dark. A man in white robes, sitting in front of a table with a sand pit, just as Master Benkei had been. He had a long white beard, and looked to be aboout 90 years old. "Welcome..." he said in his old voice, a voice much older than Master Benkei's, as Yue and Yokuya had successfully made their way through, "...and the others?"
Yue and Yokuya bowed to Master Chen, low, jsut as they did Master Benkei. Upon their rise, Yue spoke, "They will decide to make their appearance." They both sat on the mats that lie on the floor that were placed around a large, low-lying table, rather than small, individuals Tao tables back at the dojo. The three waited...(((OOC: All right, Wolf and Torm will be passed by. It will be assumed that they did not come. I'm not giving them another chance for this because I left a notice, and am even continuing this a day later than I said. They can still post, they'd just be able to come and leave Benkei's dojo. Now, I won't always wait for everyone to post so that I can post a new direction in the mission. Sometimes I will have to post immediately after certain players, depending on the circumstances. Players who will be able to check the site at least once a week should be okay))).-=}N{=-

Wow. This is much more intense than what I thought I was signing up for... But I'll be branded a coward if I turn back now. Besides, what could go wrong? We are mages. They use swords, axes, and bows. What could THEY do to US?
Even so, Nanshi was not entirely convinced. There was a whole army protecting the artifact... But there were six students and two teachers, and surely there was a greater plan than simply charging straight at the artifact and it's guards, hollering a war-cry. He was so distracted, in fact, that he had only just noticed his tea. He carefully took it, and drank quickly, though trying his hardest not to be rude and seem to be draining the cup. Besides, it tasted good.
Once the portal opened, Nanashi stood. He bowed, having remembered once the others who had signed up had entered, and then walked up to the portal. He stood, took a few breaths, closed his eyes, braced himself, and stepped in. A moment later he was many miles away.
Nanashi opened his eyes. The two teachers had already arrived, and there was another man, specifically, another very old man. Much older than Benkei, who had been only sixty at the most. This man was clearly in his nineties. After taking a very brief moment to take in his surroundings, Nanashi bowed to the man, remembering in full his manners.
"Konichiwa. I am Kinkatsu Nanashi. Am I correct in assuming that you are Master Chen?"

"Darts"
He said lowly as his only male 'friend' at the academy sat down next to him. Some more people arrived and soon the old man decided they had been waiting for enough time. He pushed up his sun glasses to cover up his eyes, giving him peace to exanimate the others.
'We have to defeat a bloody army to get this old geezer some stupid artifact? The others might die, but I will drive that army away before me, alone if needed be...' He thought while the other man was still speaking. Angra felt invulnerable.
He didn't bother to look at the cup he had been given. The ever-lasting threat of poisoning hung in the back of his head. Just looking and listening to him speak the last few details. More company. He shrugged and let the time pass away until the portal had been created. He brushed up his sleeve and soon felt the cold metal be pressed on his arm. The knife had been secured properly.
"Let's go, Darts..."
He got up and walked through the portal, leaving his full cup at the table. Disregarding the old man before the portal and staring at the old man at the other side of the portal. How the hell did you get so old? He saw the only student to enter before him exchange pleasantries with 'Master Chen'. Angra eyes shot a glare of hatred for him, he seemed too good to be of any use. He bowed to the master shortly before finding a place to stand where he wouldn't disturb the students coming through the portal. Unless they had chickened out. He stood near the student and the master. He rubbed his hands together, an entire army to slay and no consequences from it! Could it get any more perfect?
"More briefing? ... Master Chen?"
He was a hater of authorities bigger than his own, so to title someone by master was like driving a nail through his head. Beside the fact that Angra would enjoy that because of his perversion with pain.

(OOC: Due to some extenuating circumstances, 'The Sword' gave me permission to post. Forgive me for my rudeness, guys; I'll keep up now, I promise!)
Torm arrives at the entrance to the chamber already knowing that things would be underway. He snatches his hat from his head and enters quietly, leaving his ladder by the wall just inside the doorway. It's an inelegant weapon at first glance, but it gets the job done.
Out in the room, a venerable-looking gentleman of Eastern descent is clearly the person in charge. Torm approaches and bows formally.
"Tormaigh MacRagallach here," he reports, and remains bowed until given sign to rise. As a man of honor, Torm feels a degree of shame for being late, and would not consider insulting this man again or further degrading himself by offering explanations. Actions are the telling factor, after all.
"Can I yet be of service, sir?" he asks. Perhaps Torm could make good on his rudeness by putting some work into this mission...

Lanji gave a firm nod as he heard the instructions and listened intently. It was going to be a rough mission and that was putting it mildly as Lanji already knew that some may not survive this place. Two in this group had a worrisome air about them that almost made you want to test them. Thier was just something foul to thier auras that made Lanji want to question and take them outside. Someone else joined one of the questionable auras and he turned seeing the behavior. Still Lanji declined on the tea not for any reasons of rudeness or mistrust but, simply because drinking tea was tricky in armor. Ever try to pick up something when your fingers were numb? You had little if any luck and Lanji wasn't about to test that while wearing his gauntlets.
Patiently he listened and nodded at the appropriate moments while hearing the lectures that were before him. So there were places outside of Italy that clung to the proper traditions of the old world? It was a just thing in Lanji's opinion and a part of him was intrigued if excited to meet these opponents in close-combat where Lanji himself excelled. His armor provided tremendous defense and he was willing to put that defense to the test. Still he would have to keep an eye on the questionable members of this party to make sure foul play was not involved. Shifting his grip on his hilt he soon left and went through the protal with others patiently waiting for Midori to step through with him. He had to make defending her a priority. Lanji was wordless when they reached the other side and waited for instructions on where they were to go.

Midori looked up when she felt someone sit next to her and was pleasantly surprised when it was her boyfriend Lanji. He kissed her and whispered his greeting to her which made her blush softly but she couldn't help it. It was just who she was. She smiled softly and nodded as the man, Master Benkei began to explain why they were all gathered here. The hair on the back of her neck stood up with the two men that were behind her and her wings seemed to ache slightly through they weren't shown she could feel them none the less.
It seemed they were heading for China and once there a long treck together. If it was far off she wondered if they would be supplied with means to survive such as food, water, and bedding. Though if not she could call food to her and she could probably call water if she tried. Being intune with the forests of Earth had it's benefits at times. And sleeping on the ground had never been something Midori was adverse to. As such she listened and nodded when she should never taking her eyes off the man that sat at the front of the room.
She sipped her tea one hand under the cup and one holding the small cups brim sipping her small sips. It was good tea and why not drink what she was given. She saw that no one else seemed to want thier tea and thought it rude to not drink that which he had given to them so kindly. Finishing her cup she sat it down with little noise. This mission was indeed going to be filled with peril. You didn't go after a magical and sacred artifact without something guarding or some obstacle in the way. Something was out there, she didn't know what but she knew it was going to come down to blows by the end.
Bowing once more to Master Benkei before she rose she smiled at him and as she passed by to the portal she said.
"Thank you gracious host, for the information and the tea. It was delightful. Blesses on you and your family." she said as she bowed again and then stepped through the portal to the other side with Lanji who had waited for her. There she would gently take his hand in her own so that they could wait for the briefing together.
