Mission Name: Midnight Munchies
Suggested Level: Apprentice-Spell Caster
Format: Turns
Sign-Up: 1. 2. 3. 4.
Scenario: The four of you had volunteered to act as personal assistants for Denton Tran, the famous film director, actor, writer, the current new resident to the Arcane Academy faculty. Since Denton's busy with his "work", he cannot be bothered to go out to run various errands nor go out to get a snack when he's hungry. At this point, the four of you are in line at one of the White Castles in New York City because Denton enjoys their nice little hamburgers, sandwiches, sides, etc. Though this seems to be a simple mission, you will learn the true reasons Denton doesn't like going out much. On a side note, Denton let you all borrow his Hummer that's nicely parked outside the White Castle. Also don't forget the Headmaster's strawberry milkshake and a side of fries and onion rings for Halsephea.
Remember, if you can help it, do not reveal the existance of magic.

1. Chephros
A demon standing in line for White Castle's food. Why was that odd? Well he had to wear a trench coat to cover his wings, remove his wrist blades and wear an extensively long sleeved shirt to cover up the quad spiral burn marks. Fun no? How he had to have his wings was very painful, not to mention his tail. His tail was strung up, literally, and tied to the wings. A strip of enchanted leather also tied his wings to his back, thus making it all pretty damn hard on him. Yet again, why was he doing this? To help some guy here on Earth who had a problem. Some teachers also wanted food, and Chephros himself was going to get something to try considering it looked good. He had stolen money from a guy in an alley, not knowing it was a bum, and since it was in a can he figured it alright to take as the guy was offering it out.
Standing in line though was a pain in the ass. If he could he would just plow through everybody, force them out of his way or kill them, and then just go to the front and order the stuff. However he had been warned extensively that any use of magic would screw him up incredibly. That would definitely not be a fun thing to deal with. So, simply standing there, he turned to look at the people he was with. "How long does this normally take?" He had to alter his voice with his sleeve so the sharp accent of his demonic language filtered out, another pain in the ass thing to do, and simply glanced at the people in front of him. Why in all the layers of hell they took this long he had no idea, despite wanting to forcefully find out, but they needed to hurry up.

1. Chephros 2. Mantis
Mantis had signed up for a relatively easy mission, as the academy helped people out occasionally. He was on a food run with three other students, and of course his little sister, for a new teacher who was apparently someone important in the normal world.
The bug manipulator looked over at the odd young man who'd had a tail and wings at the academy, and shrugged when he posed his question. "I never really went to places like this." He said quietly enough.
Julie rocked back and forth on the heels of her tiny pink shoes and hummed as she gripped her brothers middle and ring finger on his right hand. She was rather oblivious of the whole situation, and simply didn't like leaving Mantis' side. Mantis glanced back at the other two, to see if they had an answer for the boy, who was hiding his extra apendages in a large overcoat, similar to the one Mantis himself wore.
A couple of people at the front of the line finished their orders, and the line progressed. The man glanced down at a peice of paper he had in his hand. It was the order sheet of what to get this 'Denton' as well as the headmaster of the school, and the dark arts teacher.
Denton:
- Ten bacon, chedder burgers. - Large coke. - Small fries.
Maedallus:
- Straberry milkshake.
Halsephea:
- Large fries. - Large onion rings.
What on earth all that stuff was, Mantis had no idea, but it was written down, so he'd order it as it was written.
Another person got off the front of the line, having finished her order.
~How long was this going to take?

1. Chephros 2. Mantis 3. Eric
As the lady finished her order and walked away, the next person went up. It had been a long time, but it was finally Eric’s turn to order food. There maybe some question as how he manages to get that far in the line to the point where some people would think it was magic, but it wasn’t. It was just a plain coincident that he met an old friend of his in line that allow him to order right before him, it was that and the extra five dollars Eric had offer the guy if he went right before him.
Looking at the cashier Eric said in a calm fast voice, “I want ten bacon cheese burgers, a large coke, small fires, a strawberry milkshake, 2 large fries, and an large onion ring.”
Punching in a few more buttons the cashier spoke, as he took the money Eric offer him and change, “Thank you sir. Please come again.”
Now walking to the side of the counter Eric waited patiently for his order to be handed to him.

1. Chephros 2. Mantis 3. Eric 4. Michal
"Well, I supose it doesn't matter now." Michal comented as he moved over to where he saw Eric now standing. Then Michal lowered his voice so that only the small party could hear and adresed the trenchcoat wearing companions. "You'r both saying that you've never been to a fast food place?" He really didn't know anything about his companions, he had only been at the school for a single day when he had been 'volenteered' for this job by some teacher or other.

OOC: Finally, I got people to post in this mission. ^_^"10 Bacon Cheeseburgers, Large Coke, Small Fries, Strawberry Milkshake, Large Fries, and Large Onion Rings... Coming right up!" exclaimed the pimply faced cashier wearing nerdy plastic frame glasses. He had a pretty whiny voice to it. This was the biggest pain in the ass, having to wait in line. However, while the four students waited for the food, they were oblivious to what was going out outside. "It'll take about twenty minutes for your order to be ready," the cashier explained. "Like anything else with that order?" ::Outside:: At a distance, two figures were hidden. They were scoping out the place with binoculars with night vision. One of the figures was paying close attention to the Hummer that was parked outside. "This Denton's Hummer?" "Yeah..." "How much we getting paid for this?" "500Gs... A bunch of fanatics are payin' us to take out Denton." "Why?" "Man, don't ask... We're getting paid 500Gs and you're going to come up with some dumbfuck question?" "Alright, we strike now?" The other figure shook his head. "Nah man... I happen to like White Castle. They got some damn nice little burgers... We'll wait for them to come out. Then it's time to get paid." "Yeah, time to get paid..." OOC: Once you guys take your turns posting, the real fun begins.

As soon as a stranger approached him, obviously not from around here, and asked him the question, one of the people over the counter gave Eric his order with a parting comment. Returning another comment to the worker Eric grabbed the food and spoke to the stranger, “I got what we came here for lets get out of here.”
Then moving towards the door Eric stopped by two other people waiting in line, that he knew where on the same task, and said, “You two, I got what we came here for. Lets get out of here.”
After Eric spoke to the two students standing in line, he just walked to the door ready to head back to the academy. As he was walking towards the door a stray thought went through his head, why are there three other students for a simple task like this?

The same thought was in the demon's head. There were four students on a food run. Why? Well, he didn't know, but he didn't care at this point. Spinning on his heel, and out of the line, the demon in disguise simply followed the guy out of the restaurant. No, he had never been to one of these places and he really didn't need someone letting the whole world know and wonder why the hell not, thus discovering, oh boy, hes a bloody demon! Simply following the one with the food, he continued to exit the building.

Mantis shook his head at the man, who was probably about the same age as the bug manipulator, what ever that was. "I usually stayed away from the towns." He followed the other three when the young man with glasses said that he'd had the food. Julie hummed right along out the door, still clutching her brothers hand.
As soon as he stepped out the door, Mantis had the sensation that he was being watched. And when he had those sensations, they were usually right. A small flex of mana, and three moths that were hovering near a light by the door of the fast-food resturant took off, high over head. Mantis' vision was now split four ways, his own sight, the sight of moth # 1, the sight of moth #2, and the sight of moth #3.
All three of them flew around the area, but couldn't find any thing. Mantis put his free hand on the rear door handle, and dismissed the connection to the moths, letting them go about their business. He then pulled the right side door open, and slid in to the far left, pulling Julie into his lap.
Waiting for the others to get in, Mantis shifted uncomfortably, not being able to shake the sensation.

"Really? Wow. Quite exceptional." Machal quietly intoned. He had long been able to pick up oddities from the two trench coat wearing teammates, and not just from there 'hey look at me I'm trying to be inconspicuous' dress. The one smelled odd, defiantly human, but there was something else there; almost like what he would pick up from a bug but multiplied a hundred fold. The other, well... Machal had no idea what he smelled like, but it wasn't human that was for sure. Perhaps he really was among people like himself.
"Hey. Do you need a hand with that?" Machal motioned at the food that Eric had. After all, just because one happened to be a werewolf didn't mean one couldn't be civilized and there was quite a bit of food. It was unfortunate that Machal was still puzzling over the strange scents of his comrades. If he hadn't then he might have thought a bit more about the salty sweat and adrenal extract emanating from across the parking lot.

As soon as Mantis and his little sister started to enter the Hummer, the two people observing at a distance had something cooked up. However, the other three people didn't enter the Hummer yet. The two men were talking things over with each other. Their faces weren't visible yet. However one voice was that of an African-American and the other was that of a Latino guy. ::Outside:: "So only one entered?" "Eh, good enough for me..." "We send our dawgs in?" "Nah... We gotta cut off their way of escape first, yo..." "Yeah, that's right." "Then we go in for the kill..." ::Front of White Castle:: Just as Mantis and Julie were about to get inside the Hummer, a tall African American male approximately in his mid-30s came running up towards the four students whom were about to get inside the Hummer. "Get out of the car now! It's-" ::Outside:: Before the tall man could say anything, one of the two people with a remote device in hand pressed the blinking red button. At the same time, something underneath the Hummer seemed to be beeping very loudly.

Mantis had started to settle in his seat when a man came out screaming. The bug manipulator kicked open the left side door to the hummer and dove out. The sensation he'd felt was a sense of eminent danger. He tucked Julie in his arms and rolled onto the concrete. After standing, he bolted away from the car, delving into his mana.
He wasn't all that fast, but within a few seconds he was behind a tree, his left hand holding his sister, his right hand gripping a colt throwing knife in the pouch on his side. Mantis had no idea what was going on, but he had a feeling he was about to have to defend himself, and julie.

Walking out of the restaurant, Chephros looked around. He caught the change in the bug's movements, happening to have looked around for anything unusual, and then looked around, now suddenly suspicious himself. He wished he could fly around and find whatever it was they were looking for, but at this point that would be bad. Stepping towards the hummer, he was about to enter when he immediately backed away, out of the way of the door, and shot away from the car as he heard a beeping noise start. Diving down, under the car he immediately started looking around for the source of the noise. Having his extra-planar senses, albeit not too much better they were better, helped as it allowed him to gain a slight bearing on direction. That direction, down, under the car.
Once he found it he would attempt to rip it off and throw it into the nearest alley, across the way from the restaurant. Now it was just up to strength, and luck that it wouldn't go off. Still, if it did he could create a shockwave to blast forward. He would most likely still get burned from any forthcoming explosion, but it would at least send the rest of the waves out, and away from the area behind him which now held everyone else, except of course for the bug manipulator who would need to run. The Hummer would also probably fly up, which would be easily noticed when there was empty air above him, and then Chephros would get up and sprint back towards the White Castle place. Now, this is all hypothetical in the case that the thing actually explodes on him when he rips it off...

Machal had been about half way to the Hummer when the large man was herd. His frantic movements piked Machal's senses to there peeks and he could feel adrenalin rushing trough his body. Fight, flight, submit! The wolf in Machal quickly screamed the thoughts into his brain and Machal could almost feel his body reacting to the call. His fangs wanted to grow, his hair to appear, his nails to harden. But Machal fought the feelings down. He was no beast, there were other possibilities. Darn, why did it have to be waining crescent right now. He might not be a threat, he could be a... a...
"Get out of the car now! It's-"
a warning? Suddenly Machal's keen ears detected a strange beeping. It was simple enough to tell it was coming from under the vehicle. Fight, flight, submit! Stop it! All Machal could do was stand in stunned silence as his internal instincts battled his intelligence.

Walking right behind the group towards the car that was suppose to drive them home some how Eric stopped in his track and turned around as soon as he heard someone yelling something about the car. Then turning around towards the rest of the group Eric stood puzzle a little as everyone started to scramble, making a lot of noise, and attracting lots of attention.
Nice way to be discrete. I am sure no one will notice us now; I mean why don’t I just blow something up so everyone knows we aren’t from around here.
In any case Eric just turned around from the car and approach the strange man without making eye contact.
