"We're not going yet......we're nowhere near powerfull enough to take Melzas on. I really don't want to drag anyone into this...but both you and Tech seem to have jumped in head-first."
Roy thought for a moment. This damn floating academy diddn't have what he needed, but the city would. He need a virtual training ground, like the X-Men's danger room. One that could scan a book or two for a description of an enemy.
Of Melzas.
"I think I should wait until I'm a good deal stronger.", Roy said as he finished with the healing salve.
"There's a virtual training ground in the city, where I can simulate a fight with the demon. You're welcome to come with me, to get an idea of what we'll be dealing with."

Kegan was patient. Roy knew more about the enemy than he did. If he thought they needed to train, then Kegan was going to listen. However, the thought of going into the city did not appeal to him at all. "Fine, but I don't like the idea of going into the city. I'll go with you, though. I'd like to have some idea what we are up against." It also seemed like they would be joined by another. This was also something that bothered Kegan. He was used to being a loner, and the thought of having to meet someone knew wasn't something that was top on his todo list. I will treat this like an alliance, nothing more.
Kegan was still keeping a shield around his heart. He had seen so much pain, so much suffering. The root was what was known as human nature. It had become an accepted explanation, as if those two words were a suitable explanation. It was always used like an excuse, as if saying that was the reason made everything better. The mere thought made Kegan snarl in disgust.
He would follow Roy's lead. He had no other choice. Without Roy, he wouldn't even know what to look for. This was Roy's battle, an he was merely there to help him take down this demon causing innocent lives to suffer.
