Xavier sighed softly, he was so relieved that everything was normal. It wasn't a poison used by some insidious cult to strike at him, through the girl he loved. It wasn't some strange and exotic bio-agent created by a madman in hopes of conquering the world. It wasn't even a foreign disease that had popped up do to all the magical experimenting going on around the Academy. It was the flu, that was it, simply the flu and nothing more. Xavier was almost skeptical at how normal it was, it was just the flu. A few days of rest and some chicken noodle soup and she'd be as good as new. That was exactly what Xavier was going to do next, make her some soup.
He picked her up and set her down on the bed, covering her up tenderly with the blanket and giving her another quick kiss on the forehead as she slept. He moved over to the kitchen and rummaged through the cupboards before coming out with a can of chicken noodle soup. Another few minutes of rummaging through one of the drawers and he produced a can-opener. After opening the can he poured the contents of it into a pot which was sitting on the stove. He turned the stove on and waited for the soup to heat up.
While he was waiting for the soup to heat up he almost made her some tea. It was a herbal tea mixture he had picked up from some of the druids of his clan in Ireland. It was supposed to be very good at boosting the body's natural defenses, which would certainly help Lex out. He brewed the tea while he was waiting for the soup to finish cooking. When it was all done Xavier poured some soup into a bowl and some tea into a mug, both of which he set on small tray and moved over to the bed.
When she awoke she would see Xavier sitting next to the bed with the tray sitting on the nightstand beside him. He watched her carefully as she slept, even though it was only the flu he wanted her to get well as soon as possible. Xavier's only annoyance at the moment came from the fact that his healing powers could not be used to stop disease since disease was of a natural origin most of the time.

Lexandra slept a fevered sleep which meant little actual rest because her body was fighting itself trying to get her temperature down. She felt like hell whether she was alseep or not and she wanted to be sleeping better than this but she wasn't being given the option. She sighed softly as she rolled over and ran right into Xavier that was watching her sleep.
The jolt woke Lexi and her eyes opened sleepily. She groaned and rubbed her eyes lookeing up at Xavier she narrowed her vision.
"What? Can't a sick girl get some freakin' sleep?" she asked in her old tone.
She knew she would regret being mean when she was better but this was Lexi when she was sick and you just kinda had to deal with it. Not to mention that if should she say get pregnate who knows what kind of attitude she would have then. But luckily they hadn't gone that far nor tried or even talked about it yet. As such she propped herself up on a pillow and sat up. Damn she hated being bedridden.
"What's that?" she asked nodding her head over in the soup and teas direction. Was that for her? Well that was nice of him she had to admit. But she wasn't going to say it outloud just yet though she did kiss him on the cheek.

Xavier didn't want to laugh because she was sick and he didn't want to upset her anymore than she was normally. But he couldn't help it, a small chuckle escaped from his lips as she asked annoyedly if a sick girl could get any sleep. She was so adorably sarcastic and annoyed all the time. Most people would fine her attitude offensive or at the very least annoyed at her. Her attidtude seemed almost purposefully brash and rude, but Xavier knew that was just because she didn't want to let some people too close. That was what made Xavier feel special when he was around her, he was the only person he knew of so far that she had let get close to her.
She asked him what the soup and tea were. Well duh, they were soup and tea, for her. What did she think he was some heartless jerk who wasn't going to go to every length possible to make sure that his sick girlfriend was comfortable? Most people would expect an exclamation about how sweet an act it was but not Xavier he knew, the kiss on the cheek was the best he was going to get and he was completely fine with that.
"Chicken noodle soup and a special herbal tea, for you," he said with a grin as he set the tray down on her lap, "There's not much you can do for a flu except keep your fluids up and get plenty of rest," he said with a sort of half shrug, "I figured you'd like some soup, it's always a good sick food," he said with a grin as he lay down on the bed beside her.

Lexi smirked softly as he told her that he had made soup and tea for her. She sat up in the bed and propped up some pillows behind her so she was comfy. She leaned into them and picked up her tea cup and sipped it. It was actually really good tea but it was something she had never tasted before. Her hazel eyes looked up at Xavier who seemed to be almost waiting like a dog for approval. She chuckled softly and leaned into his ear.
"Wanna know a secret? You can't tell anyone ever." she chuckled softly.
She pulled back and let him answer because sometimes it was just fun playing with him even though she felt like crap. She leaned back in once he finished and kissed his ear not wanting to get him sick by kissing him on the lips. She smirked.
"I love you." she said with a bright smile and went back to her tray.
It was ten minutes later she finished up her soup and tea and felt like she needed to sleep again. So she lay back down and curlled up next to Xavier again and nuzzled into him. She smiled softly as the tea had made her feel a bit better but not good enough to get out of bed or anything. She sighed softly as she kept her eyes close.
"Would you tell me a story about you? Like a tree hugger extreme thing?" she asked softly.

Xavier chuckled as she told him she was going to tell him a secret. He cocked an eyebrow and looked at her with a grin. Just what kind of secret was she going to tell him? He thought about it for a few seconds, she wasn't going to tell him that she wasn't sick at all was she? No, not even Lex was that devious as to be able to fake illness, especially not at the expense of worrying him. He tapped his chin in playful thoughtfulness as he tried to think of what it would be that she would tell him. He couldn't really think of anything she hadn't told him yet so he shrugged a little with a grin as he leaned over towards her.
"Well I can't really think of anything so why don't you tell me, I swear I won't tell anyone," he said with a playful smirk and then she leaned in and told him she loved him, kissing his ear and smiling brightly as she turned back to her soup. Something like that couldn't help but make him smile as he watched her finish her meal. She seemed to have enjoyed it so that was definitely good.
He wrapped his arms around her after she finished it and started to nuzzle up into him. She wanted to know a story about him, a tree hugger extreme thing, he chuckled at the little nickname she used for his druid beliefs, "Well let's see a story...hmm how about I tell you about how me and Biz met," he said with a smile as he stroked her hair soothingly, "A long time ago there was a boy who was a druid-in-training and this boy wanted nothing more than to be the best druid he could. Well one day this boy was walking in the woods, preparing to meditate as druids do, and he found and injured wolf. The wolf was very hurt and if it wasn't treated it would die. So the boy took the wolf with him and treated its wounds, the wolf was very grateful and followed the boy everywhere he went. Finally, one day, the boy decided that they should be bonded and so the Heliophant Magus performed the ritual and that boy and that wolf are still companions to this very day," he said with a smile as he kissed her forehead sweetly.

Lexi lay next to Xavier curled up into his warm body with her eyes closed. She could feel him stroking her hair softly and she smirked at that. He was one of the most caring men you could ever meet on this planet and how in the hell he had fallen in love with her and her brash attitude was beyond her understanding. She wasn't gonna run him off or anything she loved him too. It had taken a while but she had fallen for him and he was the only person so far that had gotten in between the walls she set up for herself and the only one that remained there. That was something Lexi was good at, keeping people at a distance. But then came along Xavier and he just wouldn't give it up.
He began to tell her a story and she smiled. She liked learning more and more about Xavier. It was a story about how he met Biz and she smiled as she listened to his story. His hand running through her hair was amazingly comforting and she felt better just for having it there. When the story finished she smiled in her half sleeping state. Her hand went up and ran down his arm for a moment before droping back down to the bed.
"Xavier?" she whispered softly. "What would happen .. if I told you I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you?" she asked softly. She was drifting to sleep and sick making her a bit more touchy feely at the moment and this was something she had been wanting to ask him.

He smiled softly as she looked up at him, watching him as he told his story. She was so adorable sometimes, but the rest of the time she was a red hot little package of sarcasm and biting. He loved her so much, they were such complete opposites many people would probably think they'd never work out. However they did, against all odds they made it work and they loved each other. Xavier was glad that his persistance had paid off, it had taken a little while to get inside her walls but he had done it and he was glad he had decided to be persistant. If he hadn't been persistant he would have never met the girl who he thought he'd love for the rest of his life. He wasn't sure if she felt the same was but he was about to find out.
He smiled as she ran her hand up and down his arms, looking up at with a sleepy smile. She was so cute right now and Xavier was almost annoyed that she was sick because he had gone a week without her. He sighed softly and pushed the annoyance down because she was sick and taking care of her took priority over his bodily needs. He smiled and kept stroking her hair as he knew she loved it and it helped her relax.
Then he smiled warmly and brightly as she asked him what he would do if she told him she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him, "Lex...I would say I want to spend the rest of my life with you too," he said, kissing her gently on the head as he kept stroking her hair, wanting her to feel relaxed and loved.

She smiled brightly when he said it back to her and she looked up at him. Her hazel eyes were bright and a blush crossed her face gently as she looked at him. She looked up at him and reached up cupping his cheek. The way his hand went through her hair it was the most comforting feeling she had ever felt. She closed her eyes and hugged him tightly nuzzling into him. She was tired, sick, but so happy he felt the same way about her.
"I would ask... what exactly you were trying to tell me." she whispered.
She pulled back and lay her head on the pillow next to him and smiled softly. She smirked becuase he was so cute all the time. She had never wanted to let anyone in and now she was happy she finally had let someone in. Only one person but it had paid off. Though he had to work with it and knowing he stuck with her even through that, and never once left her side no matter how hard she tried. She knew they would make it through anything. She opened her eyes and looked into his eyes as she wondered what he would say. She loved him and he knew that. She was devoted even when he left for a week she never faltered she stayed there and stayed true to him only mad and hurt.

Xavier smiled as she looked up at him, smiling brightly and...blushing? That was definitely new, in all the time he had known Lex he couldn't once recall her blushing. She was always so cool and collected as if she knew exactly what was going to happen in any given situation. In fact there were only a handful of times in their relationship, that Xavier could remember, where he had caught her off guard. That was what Xavier loved about their relationship, it was a sort of challenge. There was this sort of unspoken contest between the two of them to see who could outsmart the other and catch them off guard. Xavier enjoyed the little contest because usually in the end he came out the winner. He loved her a lot though and despite all the sarcasm and joking he really did want to spend the rest of his life with her.
He smiled and lay down next to her as she asked him what exactly it was he was trying to say. He laughed softly, wasn't it kind of obvious? Xavier would spell it out for her anyway, she probably knew what it meant but she always seemed to like to have him spell it out for her. He wasn't exactly sure why but she enjoyed it so he wasn't going to question it really. He smiled and took her hand in his as he lay down next to her.
"Lex, I think you know what it means...it means I want to be with you until I'm old and grey," he said with a smile as he squeezed her hand softly, stroking her back of her hand with his thumb, "I want to die loving you sweetheart," he said as he raised her hand a little and kissed it tenderly and lovingly.

Xavier lay down in the bed beside her and she grinned softly as he took her hand gently in his own. He stroked it gently as he spoke to her and she was still drifting. She often times forgot he didn't catch subtle hints but she wasn't going to come out and ask him to ask her he was going to have to do that himself. So as he held her there in the bed and she began to drift she thought about what it would be like if he ever did actually ask her the question. She would wait because one day he would and surprise her and she couldn't wait.
"Xav, night." she said softly.
And she fell back to sleep in his wonderfully strong arms. It was nice being here with him all together. She had honestly been worried he wouldn't come back seeing as he hadn' left a note. But he had, it had just been stolen from her and now she wondered just what kind of person would steal a note. But she also remembered the fact that the thorn cult had taken it to break them up and she wondered why they would do that. She sighed in her sleep and slipped into a dream.
It wasn't a pleasant dream though. It was a nightmare about the Clan of the Thorn. She began to toss and turn her face contorting as it was obvious that it was a nightmare.

Xavier sighed softly as he fell asleep holding her in his arms. It had been a week since he had held her like this and he was relishing every moment. He had not slept peacefully for a week and the only times he had actually slept were when his body gave in to exhaustion and he blacked out. But now, now he was actually sleeping. He loved her so much and it was not until that week he was gone that he realized how much he had needed her to simply live. He could not sleep or eat or even really meditate without her. She was so much a part of him and apparently he was the same way with her because she seemed to have the same problems he had. He was glad that the two of them were so deeply in love with each other that they missed each other that much.
-A few days later-
Xavier sighed happily as he made his way back into their room. He had just been down in the training grounds getting in a little bit of training for the day. He was a pacifist for the most partyes, but he would fight when the situation called for it, he would fight. Most of those situations involved either his Clan or his girlfriend. Xavier didn't fight a lot but when he did you had to look out because he could definitely fight with the best of them if he cared enough about the situation he was fighting for. He stripped off his shirt and tossed it into the hamper, lieing back on the bed with a sigh. He was definitely hot from the training but he didn't feel like moving to get in the shower he was just going to lay there.
He didn't know where Lex was, but he had a great idea for them to spend the day together. They were going to go out on a date again, they may have been a couple but they hardly ever went out together. It was practically like they were married already because they enjoyed each other's company without having to go out all the time. But today, today they were going to spend a day on the town and Xavier could only hope that Lex would be as excited to spend the day together as he was. After not seeing her for a week straight he was very eager to just spen time with her.

Lexandra Giovanni was in the bathroom brushing out her hair. She had just taken a shower, cleansing herself from the training grounds, and was burshing through her now dried black and marron hair. She thought about the things that had happened in the past while. It was hard not to worry about the Clan of the Thorn. They had gotten to her while Xavier was gone, Brynn had suddenly disappeared the moment that Xavier got back. Which was good because he had annoyed Lexi. The problem with that was, he had been persistant, just like Xavier had been when she first met him several months ago. But Lexi was completely in love with Xavier, having never thought in her life that she would find love, but she had. Even when she had been kidnapped by the Salvation Corporation, he had come in and saved her all by himself.
Her ears perked up when she heard the door to the room beyond close and the sound of the springs on the bed taking Xavier's weight. Normally she wasn't home. Most times if he was gone she was out training. It was not only a passion but something Lexi through herself into every day with fierce determination to be the best. To be an asset. Besides, all those other suckers blew at their own magic. Lexi wanted to be good. She left her hair down for now and went into the closet located next to the bathroom and began to dress. Xavier seemed to be surprised every time she came out of the bathroom dressed in something. She liked that fact.
So, slipping on a pair of hip huggers that definatly hugged her hips she grabbed a black halter top of some fine and soft fabric and slid it on over her small pale frame. Her belly piercing visible with the few inches of skin showing between her shirt and her jeans. Her hair had grown out a bit now reaching just slightly past her shoulders instead of stopping right at them but she liked it. She slipped on her boots and zipped them up before heading back into the main room. Great thing about boots. When you walked in the healed version they accented the sway of your hips making it more pronounced.
"Hey babe." she said as she came over to him. His shirt was off, she liked it when he did that. She smirked as she leaned over him her hair falling around them like a small dark curtain as she kissed him softly but passionatly on the lips. It was one thing their relationship never lacked, passion. She broke the kiss and smiled winking at him with one of her hazel eyes.
She turned her back to him. Her upper back was exposed from the halter top. Her lower back was covered in that stretchy thing fabric that was clining to her body. She sat down in one of the large leather chairs they had and folded one leg over the other with a smirk watching him because she knew he was watching her. She put her arm up on the arm rest bent upward at the elbow and leaned her head against her fist.
"How was training?" she asked.

Xavier smiled as he watched the love of his life saunter out of the bathroom looking like the vision of beauty that she was. He didn't know how she did but every time he was around the way she walked so sensual and sexy that he had to restrain himself from pouncing on her. Xavier didn't move just laid there, panting gently still as she made her way over towards him and kissed him softly. It may have been a soft kiss but there was that ever present passion behind it. Xavier definitely enjoyed that aspect of their relationship. There was certainly no shortage of passion between the two of them. In fact what they probably should've been worried about was an overabundance of passion because when they eventually got married and had kids there wasn't going to be all this private, free time that they had now.
He couldn't help but chuckle gently as she winked at him and smiled, turning her back to him to make her way over to the chair. Maybe it was her shoes that made her hips sway like they did and give her butt that cute wiggle when she walked. Xavier didn't actually care all that much because she kept doing whatever it was that made her look that way when she walked and that was good enough for him. He smiled and sat up on the bed looking over at her as she sat down and asked him how the training went.
"It was good," he said with a smile and then stood up, stretching a little, "I'm gonna get a shower...then we're going out," he said nochalantly as if they did it all the time and hurriedly made his way into the bathroom before she could protest. He quickly turned on the water and jumped in, not bothering to close the door as he sighed softly when the warm water hit his body. He grinned as he let the water wash over his body, working the tension out of his recently strained muscles.

Lexi smiled as he watched her sitting up. His green eyes never seemed to leave her sometimes, and that was when she knew she was working her sex appeal to the max. He was so easy to turn on and they tended to be rather physical at times. But that was just who they were and she didn't mind in fact she liked it. He told her that training had gone well and he got up and stretched. Her hazel eyes flitted over his muscular frame with that classic Lexi smirk written on her face. He was beautiful, though she would probably never tell him that, she was definatly physically attracted to the man, especially when he didn't wear a shirt. He just had that innocent sexiness to him.
He told her he was going to catch a shower and then they were going out. Lexi rolled her eyes at his back as he hurried to the shower. Seemed that lately Xavier had this 'going out' policy. He was getting tired of staying in all the time. Lexi was definatly not a social butterfly. She was the kind of girl that was a loner letting few in and letting even fewer close. She sighed and stood feeding Drake who was all too happy to chow down on some kind of inhanced science diet. She kissed her dog on the top of the head and smiled softly as Drake wagged his tale happily. He was such a happy dog.
Lexi waited. She wouldn't complain today but damnit if this was going to become a habit he was going to have to be a better boyfriend. This was just.. not Lexi. She didn't do the whole go out and watch movies with your buddies. Hell she didn't do buddies. She had two friends in this world. Phae and Xavier. That was all she needed right now. She didn't want nor was she going to try to expand her collection. She was perfectly sated with what she had now. So, when Xavier came out of the bathroom, Lexi was on the balcony sitting on the edge of the railing. The sun shown down upon her, making those maroon highlights brighter and making her hair sway softly in the breeze. Her pale skin lit up softly in a glow as she looked out at the academy.

Xavier sighed softly as he dried himself off with a towel. He moved over to the closet to pick out something to wear. He decided on something simple. He slipped on a plain white t-shirt and a pair of simple blue jeans that fit a little loosely the way he liked. Over the shirt he pulled a red denim jacket, he never remembered where the jacket had come from but he had certainly come to like it. He looked at himself in the mirror quickly to check his hair to make sure it didn't look overly messy or anything. Xavier ran a hand through his hair a little and wondered what it was that Lex saw in him exactly. He certainly wasn't complaining that she loved him, that wasn't the issue at all, he just didn't know what it was about him that she found so attractive. He loved her with all his heart and the more he thought about the more he realized it didn't matter why she loved him so long as she loved him.
He sighed a little as he saw her leaning against the balcony and looking out over the city. Xavier started to wonder if maybe it was a good idea that they were going out. He moved out towards the blacony and slid his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder from behind. He loved her a lot and he just wanted her to have a good time and he was so used to being outdoors that it was just natural for him to equate going out with fun.
"We don't have to go out if you don't want to Lex," he whispered softly as he nuzzled into her neck a little, "I just wanted you to have some fun, I thought you might like to get another tattoo or something or maybe I could get one," he said with a soft smile as he held her gently against him, looking out over her shoulder so they were bothing staring out over the city.
