Backpack slung around her shoulders, Minji made her way down slowly through the hallways of the Academy, keeping her right hand on the walls to guide her through the darkness. She strained her ears to listen to the footsteps of others, along with their talkative voices. People moved out of her way when she came through, and those behind her simply walked around her. Why? Simple; Minji had been doing this for quite a while. With a black folded piece of cloth tightly wrapped around her eyes, she was trying to sharpen her other senses by momentarily blinding herself. Yes, even in her dorms she'd keep the strip of cloth around her eyes; when she took showers, she took them off, however, the bathroom lights would be turned off. She also got an idea of how a blind person could go through these hallways; though she's never met a blind person in this academy.
School had been over for a while, and Minji eventually made it to her locker. Before she had put the cloth on, Minji counted the number of steps it would take her to go from her last class to her locker. She did this for a period of days, and averaged the number, and voila. She did, however, have to get on her tippy toes to reach the top of the lockers to feel the outline of the numbered lockers, just so she has it right. There was no lock on her locker, but that was okay, because if anyone tried to break in, they would find nothing but a black shadow inside.
Yes, Minji was using her power.
Getting down on her knees, she carefully collected her books and notebooks into a single pile, then picked them up and closed her locker with her free hand. Again, she stayed close to the wall as she began to make her way towards the exit to go to the girls dorm. Of course, it was then when she would bump into someone; happened all the time. Lightly, her face was pressed against a back - or chest - for not even a second. Immediately she stepped back, and planned on walking around the person, not bothering to give an apology. If they asked for one, she'll consider it.
...right...and how long were you planning to do this?
A couple more days.

Machal had been minding his own business and was getting pretty good at it now. Not that it wasn't a challenge. Machal had been at this school for about two weeks now and was beginning to get into the swing of things. On the other hand in that time he had been challenged to 5 duels, (one of which had been offered to the death) asked to be experimented on 2 times, and been in the blast radius of 6 spells gone wrong. Was this really supposed to be a place for study, or assisted suicide?
But now Machal was beginning to get the hang of things and so far had survived the day relatively unscathed when he felt a strange pressure at his back. Machal hadn't had his guard up and was practically knocked off balance by the light impact. He turned about to see what had entered his personal space so quietly. Machal was surprised to see what appeared to be a female student wearing a blindfold.
Machal was slightly annoyed by the lack of apology by the blinded girl but had been trained far too well to be polite to say anything. Instead, his curiosity up he began to follow the girl in a silent manner. Now just looking at Machal you couldn't believe for a moment that he could be stealthy at all, but a bit of wolf instinct cut right in. Stalking was not a skill, it was a science and many of the aids in silencing a pawed step transfered straight into wearing sneakers. Silent as could be, Machal followed the strange girl and observed her as she went about.

Twas a mere instinct that Minji felt as if she were being followed. It was like another presense, but because Minji was blinded at the moment, she couldn't tell for sure. There were times when Minji was just paranoid and had thought that someone was there, and when she took initiative, nothing happened. So instead of randomly attacking in all directions, she stopped walking and slightly turned to the other side, listening - for what? Anything. Breathing, footsteps, the wind brushing against her skin...but, nothing. It was extremely quiet, and because Minji had just started to use this blind folding technique a day or two ago, her other senses had yet to improve as much as she would've wanted them to. She turned back around and started walking again, except this time, something covered her.
A black-stringy like shadow wrapped around her body like a coil. This was her method of defense; if someone should attack her, it would simply go right through the shadow. Of course, there were points where a person could attack that wouldn't go straight into the shadow, but the chances of hitting them were very slim. Her hand would be one of them, because she kept touching the wall as a guidance. Her feet would've been one, if it weren't for her own shadow trailing behind her. Another would be the top of her head; the person would have to attack straight down, that is, if she doesn't sense them first.
You kno-
No, I don't know, and I don't want to know.
She was walking at a slow pace, eventually making it outside. She gave a small sigh, going down the steps from the two heavy metal doors, and nearly tripped on a step because Minji wasn't exactly being as careful as she normally would've been. She thought she was used to going down the steps, but apparently not; although she didn't fall on her face, she did happen to drop a notebook. Going down on her knees, she set all her notebooks and textbooks aside while her hands slowly moved around on the floor.
Not a word, Alex. Not a word.

It appeared that Machal had found a truly interesting target to track today. When the young girl suddenly stopped and surrounded herself in shadows Machal practically jumped out of his cloths. In fact, if he hadn't been at this school for some time now he probably would have screamed. Instead he just paused for a moment and took a sniff. She was still their, that was for sure. Her scent barely changed a bit, there was a hint of salt and adrenalin, but that would be perfectly normal for someone that was being followed by something they couldn't identify.
Machal now followed the dark patch off shadow but kept his distance as he had before, just a few feet but that was all he needed to hide his presence. Actually, it was rather impressive that the girl had detected him at all. Machal had herd of stories where blind people had other senses enhanced, but had never met anyone like that.
However, when the shadowy form appeared to trip and fall Machal's trained gentlemanly nature easily over whelmed his beastly instincts. He rushed forward to try and catch the figure to prevent the fall, but was surprised when his hand passed right through the shadows. It was more luck then anything that Machal caught himself before he was spread over the steps himself. Machal observed for a moment as the figure began to scrabble about for a notebook that had fallen. He quickly retrieved the fallen book and spoke for the first time. "Excuse me miss, I believe that you dropped this."

Bingo...
Either this was the guy who was following her, or he happened to be outside when she fell. She turned around and faced towards the sound of his voice - judging from which he sounded like a male - and let the shadows eventually fade away. Slowly, she felt the ground for her other books she left on the ground, and found them in no time at all, before standing up in the direction where she thought the guy was standing. Not bad, but she was a little too much to the right. Not her fault though, she didn't know where, exactly, he was standing.
Her lips parted but no sound came out, and instead, she held out her arm, as if asking him to hand her the notebook. She didn't say anything, because she always had a knack of giving people the impression that she was mute. Interesting? Quite. She knew some sign language; enough to hold a decent conversation.
You shouldn't lie, you know...
Lie? What lie?
No reply.
That's what I thought.

Machal observed the girl get up quietly. He was rather puzzled that the girl seemed to think he was a bit over. True she had that blindfold, but Machal thought that blind people would have some way of compensating, especially in a school of magic. Machal stepped to the side a little so that he was in front of the girl now and pushed the note book into her outstretched hand.
"Umm... Sorry about that. Are you all right? Not hurt or anything, are you?" She looked fine to Machal but he felt compelled to ask anyway. However, he wasn't quite sure weather he was wondering about the fall or the mysterious shadow.
