Ziare ate her soup thankfully supported by pillows and Jyo she was able to sit on her own.
She ate her soup in silence and quickly for she was really hungry. When she was done she sat back to answer his question.
"He asked me to go train with him and give adivce on Talbot. So I gave advice and then we began to train. Well I had never fought against a physical attacker before so I gave it a shot. Her placed this emblem on my that any bullets he fired would be directed at me no matter where he aimed. The hit hard. She lifted her shirt to show the two angry black welts on her stomach. This really pissed Armenius off he got huge Jyo, huge. But also took out Joseph with his tail and then Sheeta came along and hit him good with her staff. I thought I had really hurt him so with the last of my mana I gave him my energy." she said. "Then I blacked out."

Jyo would have been angery except that he had met joseph and knew he would not have done anything to actually injure Ziare. "That must have hurt. You did a very honorable thing when you gave the last of your mana to him." He said with utter respect in his voice. he had never leanred how to share his mana with another.
"How do you do that. I've read about it but never got skilled in it." he said.

Ziare looked over and shook her head.
"It's not a normal spell I don't know how works. My summon Celeste does it for me. She puts her hands on the person and feeds my mana and hers into that person." she said. "It's wonderfully handy if you catch my drift."
She touched the bruises on her stomach and winced.
"As for these? Yes they hurt, oh my they hurt. Best not touch them for now." she said smiling trying not to show her pain. And not telling him about the one bruise he couldn't see.
"But with you here I'm sure to get better in a jiffy."

"Well I might have to learn it and controll it at some point. It sounds very useful indeed." He said as they finished their soup. He was getting things from dinner cleaned up when she spoke again. "Well I hope you get better as quick as you say you should. I'd much rather see you up and about." he said.

Ziare smiled weakly but her eyes told of how happy she was to have Jyo with her.
"Well with you here with me how can I not." she said. "Is there something we can do for a little while, I'm not very tired right now." she said looking up at Jyo.

Jyo looked thoughtful for a moment. He wasn't sure. He knew being in a state like hers had to be boring. Then he thought of an Idea. "Do you play chess?' He asked with a smile on his face.

Ziare shook her head.
"No, but I'd like to learn."
She sat up a little straighter looking expectantly at Jyo. This could be fun.

He nodded." i'll be right back." he said and he walked out. Not even five minutes later and he was bakc with a chessboard and the pieces were stored in the bottom of it. He brought a table over and set it next to Ziare and he then pulled a chair over and got the pieces out.
He explained the movments of each piece and where they went when setting them up. He also mentioned that to make things easier with the king and queen that the queen went on her own color. He then explained the rules and smiled. "So what will you be. White or black?" he asked.

Ziare listened as Jyo told her about the game and how it was played. The rules seemed simple. The black and white board and pieces were set up on the table. She turned her body so she could play easier facing Jyo and put a pillow between her and the wall so she could lean back still.
"White, I think." she said smiling. "Bear with me Jyo, it may take me a while to get the hang of the game."

"Thats okay. Just make sure you try and think five moves ahed at least. And that means not just the moves you might make." He said. Jyo always had treated chess like a fencing match. One had to ber ready for a sudden change in any situation.
"I'll let white go first. That means you." he said

Ziare swallowed and looked down at the foreign pieces on her side of the board. She took one of the pieces in her hand and moved it ahead on the board to begin thier game.
She looked up expectantly at Jyo unsure if that move was okay or not.

"An advance. No risks taken right now eh? Simple and effective." he said.
Jyo himself moved the knight on his right from the back and in font of his front line. "Sorry I forgot to mention it. Knights are able to move from behind pawns in the first move. It's been a common move for me so it slipped my mind." He said.

Ziare smiled at him. And looked down at her board trying to decide her next move. She picked her own right hand knight and moved him forward in front of pawn mimicing his move.
She looked up again uncertain and shrugged.
"Sounds good." she said.

"Yes it has it's uses." he said moving the pawn to the right of his left Bishop out by ine square. "Another thing. Rmember this is a game that also takes time. So never be in a rush. I have played games that span over eight hours." He said with a grin
