One week.
For one whole week Celeste had dissapeared and he had been unable to find her. For one week he had found her door locked where it had usually been unlocked and she hadn't even responded to worried knocks where he had called for her name. He knew she was in there Dark had spied her at the windowsil or on the bed barely moving around and taking care of herself. It worried the both of them greatly. Even though they weren't able to go back to being lovers Drake and Dark still cared for Celeste deeply and were willing to give up a lot for her.
"Celeste..."
Drake whispered as he stood on the oppisite rooftop that faced the windows of some dormitories. Focusing on one window in parcitular where a sad person was in there. He had no focus of powers like a psychic so couldn't sense or find out what happened to her. Instead he had prepared a messenger bag of thigns to show that he missed her. Drake transformed into Dark since he might get a reaction out of her as he flapped towards her window. It was locked but, Dark was a master thief in ages past so this was a mere inconvienence to him. Still he pushed off and landed on a nearby balcony going into the hall.
Dark?
Just be quiet for now.
He replied seriously as he picked the lock to Celeste's door with a small tool he had removed from his vest and placed it back in. Carefully he stepped into the room and closed the door his wings shifting as he turned to her wrapped in a blanket from head to toe and facing the wall.
"You haven't been seen in awhile Cel and me and Drake got worried," Dark said with a smile and a cheerful voice as he set the messenger bag on her desk and walked towards her.

Celeste lay on the window seat in her room. The lavender cushions beneath her had supported her weight all day. Her bruises were dark and ugly the swelling all over her body was just now going down. She hurt no matter what she did and so she tried not to do anything. She rarely ate. Her jaw was good enough that she could chew and she could almost open her eyes the whole way again but she found unless Angra made her eat she just didn't.
She heard the door being messed with and she knew only one person would pick the lock. Hadrian would bust in through the window. Seig would have Azure check on her. So it had to be Dark. Her thoughts were comfirmed when she heard his voice. Her lower lip trembled she really didn't want to say anything to him she was afraid she would betray herself.
She curled up in her blanket a bit tighter and let the hood of it over shadow her blackened and bruised face. She said nothing. She couldn't. There was nothing to say. She was trying so hard not to cry about Angra and their fight. But mainly she just didn't want him to know that she was a girl that was so bad. Nothing she did was right. Nothing. And this had been the result.

Where Drake would have been surprised Dark instantly knew that something was wrong with her as she was sitting in the windowseat not moving. Not moving even an inch or running to him and giving a hug like she always that. Laughing her cute laugh and being happy to see him. There was something intensely wrong with Celeste as he walked closer to the unmoving girl knowing that she was awake when he saw that movement of her tightening the blanket. It wasn't that cold either so it wasn't a cold reflex as he reched out and gently touched the hooded cheek unaware of what she looked like underneath. Unaware of the harsh damage that had been given to her as a result of something that he didn't know. He had been worried about her as had Drake neither of them having seen her for the past week. Both of them worried as hell.
"Celeste, it's been a week and we haven't seen you, both of us worried about what happened or if you got sick," Dark said softly as he sat beside her but, he knew that something else was wrong. He shifted his head for a moment and sighed softly she was being stubborn and keeping her head down. That was another thing that bugged him she always looked up and smiled not matter what happened so he knew something was deeply wrong. Instead he finally noted something else. Her face felt swollen and he carefully took her chin and tilted her head up just enough so he could better see and in and instant of seeing it he sighed softly. She was a total mess with blacked and purple marks all over her face the swelling not looking as bad as it had been but, the bruises attested how bad it had been.
How badly she had been beaten.
How badly she had been hurt.
What bugged him even more was that she hadn't healed herself as he moved a wing around her lightly and wrapped her in it. He gently rubbed her side with the wing.
"Who did this to you Celeste? What happened?" he asked softly.

Hadrian's brow furrowed as he meditated in the darkness of his room. He had been attempting to clear his mind and flush the building rage over Celeste's relationship with Angra. He could smell the deception rolling off of the boy in waves. Hadrian did not trust him at all, he trusted him less than he trusted most humans. Anga was very crafty and happened to be able to worm his way into Celeste's life, whatever he had told her had blinded her to his deception.
Then he felt it, a jolt through his system, like a lightning bolt striking him in the chest. His eyes shot opened as he let out a defeaning ear piercing anguished roar. Hadrian had felt her pain and it was destroying him. He crumpled to the floor, his chest heaving with pain as the jolts ripped through his body. It must have been delayed though because the sensations did not feel fresh to Hadrian. His breath was ragged and shallow as he got to his feet, collecting himself.
Hadrian's eyes welled with tears as he clenched his fist so tightly that his nails dug into his palms. Blood pooled and dripped from his tightly clenched fists as he shook with sorrow and total rage. His eyes blackened instantly as he unfurled his ebony wings and shot out of his room like a bullet. He quickly arrived at Celeste's room, landing on the balcony and kicking the door open as he looked to see Celeste on the bed and some other boy was asking her who had beaten her.
"Angra....that treacherous bastard," Hadrian snarled, his voice barely containing his rage as he stepped towards the bed and tears streamed down his cheeks as he saw the shape Celeste was in. He laid a hand on her head and shook with rage and sorrow. The beating had not happened very recently, the injuries were several days old, "Celeste...how could he?" Hadrian whispered as he gathered Celeste up in his arms and cradled her, hugging her tightly against him.

She felt Dark sit next to her and then she felt his hand on her cheek. She cringed biting her lip from the pain that came from his touch. She hid her face a bit more she couldn't let him see. She just couldn't not right now it wasn't a good idea. Suddenly however, he lifted her chin to look at him and he saw. Her eyes welled with tears as his wing picked her up.
He held her close and she winced in pain and in worry as he asked her who had done this to her. She closed the blanket around her even closer maybe if he only thought it was her face and not her body he wouldn't worry.
But she didn't even have to answer as Hadrian burst into the room. She looked up as he began to speak badly about Angra and she shook her head as he pulled her into his arms craddling her close. He had never done this before and she cried softly into his shoulder.
"It was my fault." she whsipered softly. "I burnt dinner. I was careless. I should be more careful." she continued.
She clung to her brother for dear life. He was all she had aside from Drake. She never really saw Seig anymore. But in that instant that Dark had touched her face she had let out her pain and she knew that it was probably that which had called him.
"I promise.. I'll be good.. from now on." she whispered out as she cried into Hadrian's strong arms.

In an instant that Dark was about to draw his sword he relaxed his grip when the voice snarled something about Angra. He didn't move for a moment as he saw the man approach like black death the wings malevolent on him where they were mysterious on Dark and elegant on Drake. This was her oppisite truly the object of wrath itself as Drake gave a mental shiver and Dark didn't comment as he saw the tears on his face. It was obvious that this man cared for Celeste deeply and he was surely not going to stand in hte way of a sibling caring for her for the moment. Instead going on the point of making himself useful Drake took over the transformation taking place. White wings where Dark's black ones were that retracted into his back as he headed to the messenger bag and opened it.
Celeste...
"It's nice to meet you Hadrian," Drake said softly but, he was in no mind to piss this guy off if he was truly the oppisite of Celeste he didn't want to think what he had up his sleeves. He pulled out a packet of mint tea that would help soothe her and walked into the kitchen slowly preparing the tea by setting a pot on the brew as he watched them. He wasn't going to lash out about Angra and until she called him he wasn't going to approach for now.

Hadrian held her tightly too him, stroking her hair as she talked. Completely oblivious to the other in the room, Drake or Dark or some such thing, Hadrian had heard Celeste speak of him once or twice. He had beaten her because she burnt dinner?! Hadrian's rage was barely contained as he shook quite visibly as she said it was her fault and she was sorry. That bastard, she had made her think that this beating he had given her was her fault that she was responsible for what had happened to her because she had not done something right.
Hadrian growled in rage as tears continued to stream down her cheek. Instant death was too good for that son of a bitch, no Hadrian would get his hands on him for a few days in a dark room somewhere, maybe the lower levels of the Academy. Then Hadrian would use every ability in his aresnal to inflict the maximum amount of pain for the maximum amount of time. Then maybe, just maybe he would let Angra beg for the sweet release of death.
"Celeste, it was never your fault....it was his fault. You did nothing wrong, you are pure, innocent..." he whispered softly as he rocked back and forth, stroking her hair gently, "Angra had no right to do this to you, I...." he was about to tell her he would get revenge for her, that Angra would pay for this.
But then something just did not feel right about saying that now, what she needed was to be cared for, Hadrian's rage and murderous intent could wait for now, "I'll stay with you Celeste," he whispered softly, kissing her forehead lightly, "I won't leave your side...Angra won't hurt you anymore...I promise...." he whispered gently, still rocking back and forth as he cradled her.

Celeste felt him stroking her hair. One of the few places on her body that was not bruised aside from her legs. He held her tightly against him and she cried out in pain. He didn't know. THEY didn't know. To them under the blanket it looked that it was just her face that had been beaten so badly. They didn't know about her back, stomach, arms. It was for the best that Hadrian didn't know that Angra had beaten her wing bones until they broke.
It was best that Dark didn't know that he had kneed her in the stomach to keep her against the wall she she couldn't run. It was best that they thought it was only her face. She could barely move her body was still healing and it was stiff. She tried not to let them know but she knew that if Hadrian was to try there would be no stopping him from moving the blanket and seeing what she really looked like.
Her back from shoulders to hip was blackened badly but more so by her shoulder blades where her wings came out. Her wings themselves were bruised and she had lost feathers but they were inside right now and luckily he could see them unless he made her push them out. Still dressed in the cute outfit she had worn that day unable to change from the pain it was stained with her own blood. Her stomach too was black, blue with that horrid yellow color on the edges.
She had been beaten badly but she was trying so hard to stay strong and to hide just how badly from them. Hadrian began promising that he would stay with her and care for her and she looked up into the eyes of the only one like her. His eyes were black with rage and the wings. She reached out to touch him but the moment her shoulder blade shifted her hand dropped she couldn't move that far.
She wrapped up in her blanket again holding it closed for dear life praying that Hadrian wouldn't notice.
"Hadrian.. I love you.." she said softly as he held her like she was the most precious thing in the world to him. "Please.. don't.. don't be mad at me.. don't leave me.. you're all I have left.. aside from Drake. I promise.. I promise I wont.. be stupid again.. I forgot about dinner.. I won't.. do it again." she said softly as she nuzzled into his neck. The last thing she wanted right now was to be taken out of his arms. Her pink hair was blood stained and the swelling where he had thrown her into the wall three times had gone down and was just a bruise.
All she wanted right now was to stay in his arms and for them both to leave without realizing that the bruising extended past her face and down her body. Her legs the only things that remained untouched.

Hadrian could not help but shake as he weeped silently. She was completely convinced that she had done something wrong and that she had been beaten because she had forgotten about dinner. Hadrian's wings slid soundlessly into his back as his black rage-filled eyes changed to their natural crimson color. Hadrian's face was contorted in a mixture of sadness and rage, but for once sadness was the predominant emotion. This was the first time that Hadrian could ever remember feeling an emotion more strongly than he felt rage and anger. A brief look of surprise crossed over his face as she told him she loved him, she had never said that before.
One hand moved away from her as he wiped some tears from his eyes, "I love you too Celeste, I love you too," he said as he rocked back and forth gently, holding her tightly against him. Hadrian was having trouble keeping his emotions in check he never realized what a powerful emotion sadness was.
He continued to hold her, softly stroking her hair, "Celeste I would never leave you and I'm not angry at you," he said softly, "You have nothing to be sorry about, it was an accident. Angra had no right to do this to you, it's not your fault," he whispered, the tears welling up in his eyes again as he continued to cradle her gently, "Celeste you've done nothing wrong, you aren't bad, Angra is bad and you aren't stupid or wrong or any of those things," he continued to whisper, unable anymore to hold back the sadness that was welling up inside him.
How could he have done this to her, made her think that she deserved the horrible beating he had given her. Angra deserved to be tortured for all eternity for this but now that could wait Celeste needed to be taken care of, she was a mess, "Celeste we should get you cleaned up, you would feel better if you were clean," he suggested with a gentle smile.

He heard Celeste cry out in pain and audibly winced Drake having taken over for now as Dark recessed and went into thought. They had to deal with Angra over what had happened this horrible act was inexcusable as Drake came back with some mint tea letting the soothing scent enter the room. He sat the cup of hot tea near where Celeste and Hadrian were since he was currently doctoring her Drake realy didn't see much room to intervene. When she claimed it was her fault he wanted to shake some sense into her and very lightly touched her cheek so she wouldn't feel any pain. The touch was soft almost feather-like as he gazed at her eyes. Whether her gaze met his or not remains to be seen.
"Don't ever blame yourself Celeste what Angra did was inexcusable to you. You made a small mistake that people make and he did this atrocity to you. Even worse is that you think you deserve every single injury he gave to you when you don't. You deserved not a single bruise. Not a single ounce of pain that...that animal made you suffer. Perhaps it is wrong of me to speak of him since I barely know him but, this treatment Celeste is only telling me how cruel he's being to you. It is something that I'll strive to end because every moment you suffer in pain is something I can't bare to stand..." Drake said firmly as he pulled away from her after one more feather-like touch and turned to her bathroom for a moment.
"I'll go draw a hot bath," Drake said quietly as he headed into the bathroom and began setting it in motion silently wishing he was a healer so he could put something in the water to ease her pain. She sounded horrible right now and it was taking everything he had not to yank out his swords and go hunting after the man that had done this to her. Return every single inch of pain that he inflicted on her both physically and mentally from this act. Celeste may not forgive him if he did that action but, damn it she sounded like she was in absolute pain. Even worse she was saying she deserved it when she didn't. Shaking his head for a moment he glanced at the hot water and mixed cold water in so it wasn't scalding hot as he finished filling the bath.
Damn that man...damn it...
Drake just cool off right now.
HOW CAN YOU BE SO DAMN CALM!
Because rashness will only make you like him.
...
Well?
Damn it he deserves it!
Dark said nothing and Drake chewed his lower lipp as he came back out to the bedroom after several minutes.
"The bath is drawn."

Celeste smiled softly her first smile in days when Hadrian told her that he loved her. They had never discussed feelings but if you took one look at Hadrian you would know why. He wasn't the touchy feely kinda guy he was more the 'you know how I feel' kinda guy but sometimes it was nice to really know.
She closed her eyes as he rocked her back and forth gently holding her to him and never letting go. She felt safe right now but when he mentioned cleaning her up her eyes shot open and tears welled. They would see. She wasn't worried about them seeing her naked more so that she was worried they would see the rest of the damage done.
"No no, I'm okay. I can't bathe anyway I can't mo.. I mean I .. " she closed her eyes. What was a good excuse. She wasn't afraid of water or something like that she tried to search for a reason that she couldn't take a bath.
Drake came over and began speaking about how it wasn't her fault. They seemed to agree on that front so she kept her mouth closed and just lay there helpless to help herself. She looked up at Hadrian's beautiful crimision eyes and tried to plead with him not to make her bathe but she knew he would. He was trying to take care of her even though she didn't deserve it.
"I can't.. move." she admitted and closed her eyes softly trying not to see the look of understanding that would cross their faces.

A look of suspicion crossed Hadrian's face. Why she did not want to get cleaned up was beyond him. It would certainly make her feel better to clean off all the filth, blood, and grime that had accumulated on her since the beating had taken place. Hadrian suspected that Angra had beaten her a lot worse than her appearance suggested. Her appearance suggested a severe beating and if Hadrian's suspicions were right it may have been only her healing magic that had kept her alive throughout the whole ordeal.
"Celeste, it's okay I'll help you," he said, softly as he picked her up, cradling her in his arms as he moved her towards the bathroom. He passed Dake and nodded slightly, "Thank you..." he said, bowing his head a little. He knew Drake did not know him but if he did he would realize what a compliment it was for him to receive a thank you from Hadrian.
Hadrian carried Celeste into the bathroom and closed the door behind him. He needed time to talk to her, to confirm his suspicions. He knew Celeste had some sort of deep connection to the Drake fellow and he assumed it would most likely not be good for him to know the extent of how badly Angra had truly beaten her, "Celeste, how badly did he beat you?" he asked in a whispered voice as he sat her down on the edge of the bathtub.

Drake and Dark had already guessed how badly she had been beaten on seeing that cry of pain and she saying that she couldn't move. He heard the thanks and only sighed when the door was closed reminding himself that Hadrian was her brother as he sat down at the window seat. He didn't have an appetite right now after witnessing what had happened to her and he sure as hell didn't want to relax with a drink. Lightly he ran his fingers against the cool glass of the window for a moment. Lightle he touched the coolness as he was doing his best not to try to lash out in anger over what had happened to her. He walked to the balcony and closed the door and went back to the window seat again fidgeting.
A fidget here.
A fidget there.
Just waiting for when he would be able to look at Celeste again since Hadrian was being painfully obvious that he wanted private time to intrude. Hell who was he to intrude? He folded his arms and looked down at the cushions for a moment. Cushions that had kept her there. That was what bugged him though Celeste was a pure healer unlike him and she should have been able to heal most of it. Just how deep did that pain and guilt run? That she wouldn't even heal herself when she was in pain.
"Celeste..." Drake whispered softly as the tea on the counter was getting cold now. He'd reheat it later.

Hadrian held her tightly and it seemed that he really would never let her go. She looked up at him. The man that had come to either kill or mate with her had indeed grown to love her. She was important to him now and she didn't know where she would be without him. Azure would have to be fixed. Spending all her mana to fix the bones that were mending was not allowing her to feed the little bug and it had gone dormant.
Hadrian told Drake thank you and she smiled softly. From her brother that was huge. He hated humans and to tell one thank you, well it was just something you never expected to see. He took her into the bathroom where the bath was steaming and ready for her stiff and filthy body. Hadrian sat her on the side of the tub and she pulled the blanket tighter around her body.
She looked up at him when he asked that question. She knew he would else he would have seen when he forced her to bathe. Standing very painfully her face contorting in pain until she was upright she dropped the blanket. And there it was. She had worn a soft periwinkle blue shirt that hugged her body tightly it was covered in her blood and she wore a soft white skirt that would never clean. But that wasn't what was seen. It was her stomach that was blackened. Trembling she turned around so that Hadrian could see the deep dark black bruise that covered her wing area from shoulders to hip it was black.
She cried softly as she kept her back to him. She didn't deserve to see him anymore. Her own brother should be ashamed ofher. Her shoulders shook which only made her cry out in pain as she cried harder which caused even more pain. She was hurt and hurt bad and she wasn't going to heal herself. She wasn't good enough for that ..
not good enough.

Hadrian's eyes widened as he watched the blanket drop and she finally revealed the full extent of the damage. For once since coming to the Academy, Hadrian was truly in shock. His eyes wandered the exposed parts of her body, almost all of her stomach and back was completely blackened and bruised. Tears threatened to well up in Hadrian's eyes again as he gently moved his hand forward and very softly ran his hand over her wing area.
"Celeste how could he do this to you?" he asked, as he continued to run his hand very gently over the injured bruised area where her wings normally sprouted, "Are your wings damaged?" he asked, his voice thick as he tried to hold back the tears that threatened to come. Hadrian would have to work on learning to control his sadness later, it was indeed a powerful emotion. Now he would have to work on keeping it in line now that he had experienced it.
"Celeste...look at me please," Hadrian pleaded in a whispered voice as he wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed the back of her head gently, "You aren't bad or wrong or any of that, no matter what Angra's told you. You are special and innocent and pure and you never deserved to be treated like this," he whispered as he held her.
