Denton was getting adjusted to life at the Academy. He managed to get a very big three floor dormatory that's the equivalent to a penthouse suite at a 5-stary luxary hotel. The man needed his space and his peace of mind.
In a few days, Denton's place was pretty much set up to his liking. The first floor was the main floor with a living room with a 60" HDTV, great for watching movies, sports, TV, and playing videogames. Every man's dream to own a large TV such as that one. Denton would oogle at the TV in all of its glory. He had an entertainment system set up with a DVD player and surround sound.
It was pretty damn sweet. Denton also had an open kitchen that also acted as a personal dining room. Chances are the fridge wasn't going to be stocked much except with malt beverages. There was also a liquor closet on the first floor as well. Yeah, Denton needed his liquor if he wanted to concentrate on his writing.
There was also a jucuzzi on the first floor but on the patio part. Yeah, Denton had a dorm with a perfect outside view. Denton had a laptop on the coffee table that was hooked up to the internet. Wireless and very good speed.
The second floor had a few rooms. One room acted as a mini-dojo along with weights and excercise machines. Another room was an entertainment room with a bar, darts, arcade machines, and a pool table. Had to have a pool table. The main room was a study with the main PC. The main room would be used when Denton was working on his screenwriting, blocking, etc. The main room had a TV there as well.
And the top floor served as his sleeping quarters. Yeah, that's where Denton would be sleeping. It was a pretty comfortable bed and such for Denton.
But right now, Denton was in the living room ont he laptop with music blaring throughout his large dorm. The song was "Smile" by Lily Allen.

As with her nature, Oki Nanda allowed herself in without knocking. Looking about this place, all she felt was the suffocating sensation of greed. Observing the sounds, sights and occaisionally touching one thing or another, her usually blank face gave very little more than a grimace of almost pure anger until she saw the entire layout- spacious and light filled with airs of drama thanks to well placed curtains and foilage. This place was not so greedy as it was dramatic. As to be expected.
Walking forther in, having left her shoes at the front door- as per the custom of the lands she once came from so long ago. Walking soundlessly, she found a livingroom- the source of the music and even more so the owner who chose to play it.
Sitting across from him, Oki Nanda stood there. Waiting patiently. After all there was no reason to startle him- being his current serenity.

Denton casually turned his face to the side to see Oki Nanda standing before him. He had immediately stopped typing on his laptop. Denton was basically typing notes down on what he wanted to do for his research on the events that had transpired at the Arcane Academy and new events that should be transpiring soon.
Coolly and casually, Denton smiled and rose from his seat. He walked towards Oki Nanda and extended his hand.
"Didn't notice you came in," Denton said. He basically had it where faculty were only allowed to come in. Denton didn't allow the students to come in and bug him. Unless they would be acting as his personal assistants.
"What's up?"

Oki Nanda bowed rather than accepted his hand in a shake- after her, she being who she was, physical contact was the last thing she wanted with many a person. People were interesting and disgusting all in the same instant. She offered no facial gesture beyond the faintest of smiles before she sat on the chair across from him.
"Oki Nanda has held interest in Writer Dentor since the beginning of Writer Denton's career- Writer Denton has been recently classified a class I on Weaver Data. Class T has not occured in many years, Oki Nanda thought it best to seek out and meet Writer Denton- considering Oki Nanda would eventually be working with Writer Denton at one point or another.:

Denton returned the bow back to Oki Nanda. He pretty much understood that she didn't want to shake. Hey, handshakes are a surefire way to spread germs. Especially if the person sneezed on it. Another thing to point out was at the faculty meeting where Denton introduced himself. It made him think of Winklewood who decided to wank it before showing up to the meeting.
The thought made Denton want to shudder.

Denton nodded.
Right...
The talking in third person kind of creeped Denton out a bit. Mainly because it reminded Denton of a certain family member he will not mention. Interesting thing, the way Oki Nanda talked was like how Ed from Cowboy Bebop talked. Ed would always address herself in the third person.
"Yeah, I had to do some work on the computer," Denton explained. He then added, "I still got some unpacking to do. Make this dorm into my home away from home." It was much peaceful than Hollywood.
Hollywood was so fake. One of the things Denton didn't finish doing was putting up posters of films that he starred, directed, worte, etc.
There was one poster across the room from where Denton sat. It was a poster of a movie called "Pseudo Avengers." A more kickass version of the Power Rangers. There he was, Denton decked out in the red outfit signifying that he was the leader of the Pseudo Avengers.
On one cabinet where merchandize such as books and action figures from the movies he made. They were basically rememberances of the work Denton did.

"Writer Denton seems to carry quite the ego. Displaying such things- is he afraid of being forgotten, Oki Nanda wonders just how it is such simple dreaming earned such elaborate a class. A curiousity among those who have dreamed lesser things and earned so great a treasure- or have been consumed and damned. Which is what the Weaver council expected of Writer Denton- in the beginning when he dreamed his little dreams and found no contentment."
Nodding Oki Nanda crossed her long arms over her chest as her eyes watching Denton and only Denton. Material possession ,beyond what she had been assigned in her duties as a Dreamweaver, was simply something she had no faith in. If you cannot remember yourself- why should anyone else remember you?

A curiousity among those who have dreamed lesser things and earned so great a treasure- or have been consumed and damned. Denton could see where this was going.
"Your words do somewhat carry a point," Denton replied.
"The things on display are like the equivalent of a photo album or a year book. When I grow old and with the possibility of getting or forgetting things, I'd like to remember what I did. For example, people who lived interesting lives wrote books. Though in nature, items are physical. But the sentimental value of those items carry much more weight."
He continued as he pointed to his Pseudo Avengers poster.
"That was the first movie I've ever acted in. We put in very long hours and very low wages. But all of us didn't care about the money, we wanted to see the movie made. A movie is a piece of art where everybody has to put their hearts and souls into it or it fails."
Denton walked to the kitchen counter and grabbed a glass of water taking a few sips.
"I even have a photo album of pictures we took on set. Basically me, the other cast members, crew, directors, and producers having fun."
He took another few sips.
"I'm not afraid of being forgotten. I just want to remember the friendships I've forged, the people I've met, and the works of art that we put our very souls into."
Denton turned to the action figure. "This thing was first in the line. Though the look was crappy... But it's a kid's dream to be a hero."
He hoped Oki Nanda could somewhat understand what Denton was getting at.
"You have to look beyond the material and the artifice of such items," he explained.
"Also I'm still a normal human. I grow old and die like everybody else on Earthside. However, when people get old they get senile and start to forget things."
He then added, "people are also prone to Alzheimer's. I'm not different. With Alzheimer's you start losing your memory. Memory of your accomplishments, your friends, your family, your children, etc."

Oki Nanda yawned softly, stretching slightly, then smoothed the folds of her dress with a soft dreamy smile, "Writer Denton fears an illness not in his history or future? How rare to be afraid of something so trivial as memory loss."
Standing, the sound of every bone in her body popping and snapping echoed softly, "Oki Nanda disspeared in time, many many years ago and she is still remembered by many many many a being- even those who have been born long after her time. Mortal or not, standing out in one point of one's life, someone will always be there to remember- even if someone does not for themselves."
Moving to the closest cabinet, she looked the items, poster and everything else over, "Matrial possessions are pointless if one is alone and without those to love them. Gathering such items is a way of showing insecurity, childish greed, a need to hold onto what is not necessary at all times."
Lightly tapping the head of one of the dolls, Oki Nanda nodded slightly, "Oki Nanda- if she could- would be jealous of so much to look at, however she finds these 'photo albums', as Writer Denton referred to them, to feel very cluttered. Almost as if too many beings attended a memorial service for the fans. Perhaps Writer Denton does not understand Oki Nanda, and she does not understand him- however it would seem they have different opinions on the outlook of memories."

"Writer Denton fears an illness not in his history or future? How rare to be afraid of something so trivial as memory loss."
Denton didn't fear it. Memory loss wasn't the point of this conversation. He was trying to make a point of cherished memories in such objects. An object is just a mere object. However, what made them priceless are the memories that surrounded those items.
"Oki Nanda disspeared in time, many many years ago and she is still remembered by many many many a being- even those who have been born long after her time. Mortal or not, standing out in one point of one's life, someone will always be there to remember- even if someone does not for themselves."
That statement would be something up for debate. But Denton wasn't in the mood for debating. To Denton, there were more to those items than met the eye. That was the point that Denton wanted to get across to Oki Nanda.
"Matrial possessions are pointless if one is alone and without those to love them. Gathering such items is a way of showing insecurity, childish greed, a need to hold onto what is not necessary at all times."
Greed would be the case if Denton wanted to sell them off. But each these items had strong sentimental reasons. Something that Denton didn't want to let go. In a sense, these things were proof of the hardships Denton and the others went through. What they accomplished and what not. Would Denton sell them, no?
He'd probably donate them after he's gone.
"Oki Nanda- if she could- would be jealous of so much to look at, however she finds these 'photo albums', as Writer Denton referred to them, to feel very cluttered. Almost as if too many beings attended a memorial service for the fans. Perhaps Writer Denton does not understand Oki Nanda, and she does not understand him- however it would seem they have different opinions on the outlook of memories."
Denton nodded.
"Well, think of these things as a vessel of knowledge. Words are just words," Denton explained. He held up a photo album. These were pictures that he took while filming a documentary on Hurricane Katrina.
Denton cleared his throat a bit, "these things aren't out of greed. However, people on Earthside tend to forget things easily versus life in the Arcane world. Think of these items as memory banks. You don't need any magic to activate these items. Just use your own imagination."
He continued, "these things help recall memories faster. You can go through a lot. However, with memories...it can be pretty unorganized."
Then Denton proceeded to show Oki the photo album.
"See here, these are pictures of New Orleans, Louisiana. On Earthside. As you know 2 years ago, the place was struck by a hurricane. With your powers, you already know about the hardship those people went through. I was there making a documentary on the victims of Katrina."
Denton took a sip of water.
"Keep in mind. Most people do not have special abilities like you and I. So, they won't know the existance of magic. Earthside and the Arcane world are pretty different. On Earthside, people tend to forget things easily. Which is why I keep a photo album like this," he explained.
In a few decades, people will probably forget what ever happened to those people. Pictures and various items are for future generations to look upon.
