Talbot smiled, feeling about for the fork, she poked at her mango salad and took a few bites. Sighing, she chewed slowly- thinking on the comments and words which had been shared between them and what she had heard from the waiter. Swallowing , she took a sip of her tea and said, "You know, if I didn't know any better it- from all the casual questioning I would start to think you wanted something from me, Mr Ketsuki."
Blind eyes looked up at him, "I have little experience in this but I believe you're trying to wheel and deal for something I have and that-" she smiled, " couldn't be correct- right? You simply some sort of doctor to be with a love of freelance."
There was no tone of hope in her voice, she took another bite from her salad, colorless eyes still staring at him her ears listening for any deviation in his tone.

"I'm afraid that's not quite right. I've got no doctors certificate and no education in the subject. I just happen to sit on the information I need. And about you I have to say that I may or may not have an interest in you. I'd prefer if we didn't go to far on that subject, please. Let's say that I think you're special from what I've seen of you and leave it at that."
Then he concentrated on his food. He had made sure not to tell a single lie since a blind person sharpens his other senses slightly, and therefor there were a great risk with a blind person that knows magic. And he prefered not to lie. It was so much funnier to point out the loopholes to people afterwards. Just to build on the act he made his voice slightly less controlled and acted as if he was trying to hide it. He also managed to blush slightly just in case those mice was watching and reporting to her. Or if someone overheard their conversation.

Mikon's wings fluttered, the tone in Ketsuki's voice having disturbed him. Talbot slipped some food under the table for Ardo who chittered something about disliking poor actors. Talbot nodded slightly and her smile grew, "Well it's good to see someone is using their skills and recources to better life for others- though there's nothing wrong with benefitting oneself from time to time."
Humming a few soft notes, part of a lullabye she had heard in the past- something her mother knew from the blessed blood she carried. Then smiled, "So how long have you attended the academy?"

"I agree to the fullest. One can't live without earning some from time to time and a life with at least a little luxuries ain't much either. But I make sure to keep it at a modest level. I don't spend much time at home anyway."
The fat rat under the table starting to chitter in its own annoying way again. If he hadn't forsaken that long ago he'd sweared to god to kill every last one of them when the time comes. Then Talbot asked him a question which he answered with:
"Oh, that. I haven't been here for more than a month or so. I've been busy helping people out so I haven't really checked on the time since I came here. And down on the earth I didn't care much either. But there were more customers there since there's so good care around here. It's actually something that doesn't exist over most parts of the world."
And that's something he enjoyed much. That's the reason there were more customers on the earth.
"How about yourself? How long have you been here?"

Talbot took few minutes to work that out. She blush slightly, more in frustration than embarassment. Finally she answered, her smile as bright as ever, "Actually I have no idea. No more than two years."

This girl is to slow between the answers. She must be trying to read between the lines. I hate when they do that.
When she smiled and answered him he wasn't sure where she stood but he decided to play this game to an end. So he smiled back and said:
"Then you must know alot more about magic than I do. I can barely transform myself at all and I have none of those fancy offensive or healing spells that I've seen others use."

Talbot smiled, unhindered by her previous thoughts, "Don't worry. No one starts off a professional. It always takes the newer students to find the ins and outs of their powers."
Ardo thwapped his tail on the floor and Talbot appeased him with the remainder of her salad as she started on her other part of her meal. Zula's head popped out of the pocket and again the little water mouse puckered her little whiskars, and closed one eye- the little mouse having found the human who smelled of burned gingerbread more than appeasing. Mikon lifted his head out of the sleeve pocket and huffed, chittering at the smaller mouse- who quickly went back into the pocket which gave Mikon the opportunity to stare at Ketsuki with judgemental wind filled eyes.

"Yeah, you're right. I shouldn't be so hasty when I try to learn stuff. It's actually my biggest flaw."
Ketsuki saw that one of her little animals looked at him. He didn't like the way it looked and decided that if he got a chance he'd pour acid in its eyes. Then he concentrated on the food while thinking of what to say next. Since he couldn't come up with anything special he decided to talk about the restaurant.
"It was a nice place you choose. The food is great. You eat out often?"

Shaking her head, golden hair shimmering softly, "Not that I can remember."
Mikon stretched his wings, flexing each feather slolwy and deliberatly- as if to show off to this odd smelling being. Mikon wrinkled his nose, burned gingerbread- not his thing, though he remembered his previous owner smelling like sweets as well. Mikon's eyes glimmered and he chittered softly- one word in the language.
Talbot's eyes went wide for a bare second and she shifted, then smiled, keeping her mind on the conversation at hand, "What about you, Mr Ketsuki? Do you go out often?"

There was something about that winged little creature. It was as if it checked him out and just waited for him to show his true nature. Well, it could look as much as it wanted to. He wasn't going to show it. Or? Suddenly it had chittered something to Talbot that reacted by widening her eyes. Ketsuki had learned that it was a sign of shock and that could be bad news. Thankfully she remained calm and continued as if nothing had happened, but now he knew that they might be on to him and he didn't like it. But he decided to take the chance rather than to blow it all.
"Not as much as I would like to. I'm out often but mostly to busy running around the town looking for things to do. I just can't sit still for a long time without something to do."

Talbot nodded slighty, "That I can understand. Though- I sometimes wonder if my tendancy to grow anxious with simply sitting around."
Passing the last bit of her meal to Ardo, barely having eaten half, Talbot then sipped her tea and leaned foreward- unaware of the revealing bend in her top. She sighed softly and took another sip.
"So how about you and I have a small bought in the training area after a nice walk?"

Ketsuki got suprised about the offer. He hadn't expected that but it would be intresting to see how she fought. Good mages and warriors are worth more. He knew that he'd probably been stunned or something when she leaned forward but didn't feel an urge for physical pleasure since he was mainly metaphysical. He hadn't even tried it.
"Sure, but I use my magic to get stronger and have to get close to my opponents. So you'd better prepare to win if you use any ranged spell or your familiars."
He drank the rest of his tea. It was quite hot but he was used to worse.

She smiled and nodded, sitting up straight, finishing her tea, then laughed softly- the sound of wind chimes echoing through the building, "I would never have my familiars fight anyone but one another- especially in a friendly spar. I've no love for blood lust or anything else of that sort."
She stretched and extended a hand, "Are you ready for our walk?"

"That's quite a relief. I'm not very fond of being beaten to pulp. Very well, let's go."
Maybe she'll show a weakness in this fight?
He thought as he got up and helped her up. If he was lucky this was what he needed, but he doubted it. If she hadn't shown any weaknesses this far she wouldn't do it for a while either. And she might be onto him so he couldn't get his hopes up instead of his defense. He was about to ask for the tab but realised that they had gotten it for free this time.
