It had been a month. A full month since his death and Celeste had changed exponentially. She had let her hair get really long and died it pink. No longer dressing in the soft colors of before she now dressed in a black dress with white ruffles underneath. She looked around the cemetary was empty as the tears flowed down her cheeks from her soft blue eyes.
She knelt down in the soft grass surrounding his grave and lay a bouquet of white roses, lillies, and orchids on his grave site. Dusting off the stone that marked him she cried softly. She still hadn't really told Angra what had happened to Drake but she figured it really didn't matter seeing as it wasn't likely they would ever meet.
She leaned against the stone and smiled softly remembering all the times they had spent together.
"Drake, Dark, do you remember, that time that we went flying for the first time over the city? And I couldn't make it back because I wasn't used to flying? You should see me now. I can fly much farther and higher than ever before." she told him as she talked to the stone as if he could really hear her.
"I went to prom. Danced too. Wore a dress that was black with a pink ribbon. I dyed my hair. You should see it. Angra, well he's my boyfriend, he says that he likes it so I guess that's a good thing." she whispered softly.
The bruises on her arms were blue now instead of black they were slowly healing. They had been deep bruises and now they were finally going away. If she didn't touch them they didn't hurt but they were still very visible on her pale skin.
"I.. I miss you!" she cried out suddenly as she burst into hard sobs as her tears ran down the grave stone.

Alastin was walking with Ziare early that morning it was early but, he had wanted to go on an early walk and had asked Ziare if she would go with him. Right now his fingers were entwined with hers as he nuzzled his head into her neck lightly as they walked the morning quiet. Sure many shops weren't open espically a certain ice cream shop but, it was peaceful and quiet Alastin simply enjoying the time spent with a good friend. He walked with her and shifted looking up at Ziare and smiling softly not a word from him. Words weren't necessary right now just the peaceful serenity of the early morning. He was walking with Ziare down one of the roads that led past a few beautiful shops including a glasswork shop that he was curious about and wanted to check out later.
He then felt it and he nearly stumbled clutching her and holding his head as a deep pain cut through his senses. He shivered right where he stood he had told Ziare that he was emotion sensitive that's how he had found her the first time. This pain was raw and deep like Ziare's was and it made him shiver despite the warmth of Ziare and wearing a heavy jacket. He looked up a ther without even saying anything at the moment it hurt and nearly made him sick whatever it was. He turned his attention out to focusing the sense and lowering the amount he felt with an effort of will. While he did that his eyes were closed as he leaned against Ziare letting her watch him while he was sensing and looking. Trying to find the source of that deep pain. The graveyard someone heading there.
"Ziare..." Alastin whispered softly as he opened his eyes and looked up at her. He knew that he promised to ease on his work but, this pain was not one that could be solved in itself. It was a pain just as biting cold as Ziare's as he pulled her hand softly in the direction of it. The look he had given said that he or perhaps they had to help it was too deep for him to ignore. He walked with her towards the graveyard his hand tightening around hers as they got closer a testament to what he was sensing. Misae sensed it as well and knew her bondmate might try something. Laelaps appeared at his side the large hound feeding him the energy just used to summon him and nodded gravely at Ziare. He was a summon of few words but, he was extremely loyal to Alastin and thus trusted Ziare with his bond mate.
"I'm sorry...but, this pain is as deep as yours was...I...I can't ignore it..." Alastin whispered as he stopped. There was a heavy fog in the graveyard and he heard someone crying. Crying in a deep pain in front of a gravestone. Alastin knew instantly what it was that was hurting her. Someone dear to her had died. Alastin bit his lip and looked up at Ziare his eyes full of tears as well from feeling the pain as well. This pain was beyond his own ability at the moment but, they had to do something.
"Is there anything we can do to help?" he whispered as he looked at her. It wasn't anything he could do he was asking her for help with this as well. He looked down at the ground for a moment as he nuzzled into her shoulder lightly with his head. So cold. Would there be anything they could do to provide warmth?

It was a cold and crisp morning. Not one where you would see your breath or anything but one where you definatly would prefer to be by your fire drinking hot chocolate and thinking about the times you had spent during the warmer days. But Alastin had wanted to go walking this morning through the sleeping city. And after spending the night in his dorm again as she did often, she agreed to go.
Wearing a soft fitted white sweater and blue jeans she had put on a denim jacket over it. One hand in her pocket to keep warm and the other was holding Alastin's hand. They were closer than any two friends she had ever met. Most people upon meeting them thought they were dating because they just had a immensly deep bond and were constantly together if not touching. Her blonde hair swayed to and fro across her jacket as her blue eyes that seemed to match the morning sky took in the beautiful scenery that was the city before life.
They walked along in silence and that was fine with her because with Alastin they didn't need to talk all the time. As such she didn't speak too often anyway unless she was with him. Even Jyo didn't get the talkative girl he had known in the past. Ziare was much more wary of who she trusted these days as well sticking close to those she knew and reluctant to meet others.
Everything was going smoothely until Alastin suddenly doubled over in pain. She was quick to pull him close as he clutched his head.
Armenius?
He's sensing great pain from somewhere. Close to but not as bad as your own.
Where?
The graveyard. It isn't far, but the girl.. she's in great pain.
Ziare sighed softly as she stroked Alastin's back gently. When he finally looked at her again she smiled and nodded. She knew that as a healer he needed to go and she would go with him. As a wizard she would help if she could. He, still holding her hand, ran off with her. Moving through the city until they finally found the graveyard. He spoke to her what she already knew, but then again he didn't know that.
Of course then he asked, as she knew he would, what they could do for the poor girl that was crying some hundred feet away. The pain tore at Ziare's heart and she looked up at Alastin. She knew exactly what they could do but it was against all laws of nature. When you died you weren't allowed to come back. That was the cycle of life and to break it .. well that wasn't the smartest idea.
"We can.." she swallowed hard. "bring him back." she whispered.

He knew what they were doing was against everything that nature was made to do. It was against the cycle of life that was created but, he couldn't ignore that biting pain. He couldn't ignore it the pain was too much and it had him on the verge of crying himself. He waited for the answer his fingers still tightly entwined with hers as he looked down at her and gave a relieved smile when she said that they can try. He nodded as he closed his eyes whispering softly thickening the fog unnoticably so the girl wouldn't see what they were about to attempt. Something that shouldn't be tried but, he couldn't help it as he dropped a small ball of Heaven Fire on the grass to dry it.
"Thank you...I just can't ignore the pain..." Alastin whispered softly as he kissed cheek gently and sank to his knees gaining a meditational focus.
Celeste. That was the girl's name as he began picking out the thoughts of her mind trying to find the injuries and when he found it he almost cringed. It was an instant killing blow through magic through the chest. Alastin would have to use more energy then he had ever attempted to use in one try before. Being that the man...Drake was dead it would be easier to repair. That was a mortifying thought. It was easier to heal because the person was dead. He shook his head lightly as he shifted his focus touching his hand to the ground and focused instead on Drake's body. Now that he had the name he was able to locate the body through his sense and cringed audibly at the black ice of death that was unfathomable to comprehend.
"The damage is on a near catastrophic scale..." Alastin whispered softly as he closed his eyes his hands taking a pale glow as he started up a slow charge slowly building up the energy that was going to be required for this. He closed his eyes and continued his focus for a moment. He nearly puked right there when he felt the cause of death and a couple linked thoughts. What a horrible way to die and even worse she had to see and experiance with it.
"I believe I can heal the damage it the rest is up to you..." Alastin whispered his energy began to become more focused and more intense slowly gaining brightness.

It was time to show Alastin just what she could do. He had seen some of her summons but never in action and never in this kind of situation. She grounded herself slightly as she took a deep breath. She was going to use a large ammount of mana for this but that was allright. This was going to work and work well this girl deserved to be whole again.
Sheeta..
The dark summon appeared ready. She was the dark version of Ziare though she still carried the longer hair that Ziare had cut off of her own body not too long ago after an attempted suicide. Sheeta was her dark summon and she was well versed in Necrocmancy. Though they had never used it Ziare was well aware that it would work.
Veda..
The spirit summon came and stood next to Sheeta. Together they would have to work for the first time to make this miracle happen. Together was what was important because while Sheeta called the body Veda was needed to use the girls memories to call the soul.
Celeste..
The young blue headed girl appeared with a bright smile as she always had. She was here for Alastin. For while he drained himself she was going to work with Lelaps to make sure he didn't pass out. Ziare was looking out for him most of all. The summoning of three at once did take a toll on the summoner but she was allright. She had more than half her mana left.
Sheeta set to work as did the young summon Veda.
"I call upon the power of the earth the bringer of life. A life snuffed in it's prime. A flame that flickered and died. Return to us the life once lost and reclaim his blessed life." she called out her voice was beautiful a much deeper version of Ziare's own voice.
"I call upon the power of the heavens where souls reside. The angel known as Drake we summon, back to this world he shall remain, until death calls in a more natural way." Veda called channeling the memories of the two into herself and up through the sky a slight ghostly shadow forming around the girl.
Celeste touched Alastin's back feeding him mana as he expended it.
Up through the ground just in front of him and away from the young girl crying over the grave was the body of Drake wrapped in fine purple velvet that the girl had picked. The body had answered the summon the soul still danced around Veda waiting and hoping. It seemed that it was not only the girl that wanted him to come back but he himself as well.
"The body and soul are ready." Ziare whispered down to Alastin who needed to finish healing him so he didn't die again.

Alastin closed his eyes feeling more energy surging through him as Laelaps and Celeste insured that he wasn't going to run out of energy as he opened his eyes which took on a shimmering gold now. They glowed with the same energy that was intensely focused in his hands. He had the energy now but, now he took his free hand and lightly clutched the crystal cross removing it from his neck gently for the first time since he got it. He layed it on his hand that was shimmering with energy that could rival a starlight's glow as he gazed at nothing but, the body of one who had fallen in his prime. One who took on death at an early age through the murder of someone's hands rather then a natural death. It was something that Alastin wanted to fight against and he finally had something. Something fitting.
"The body and mind call to thee Drake Sevnik and thus thou shalt be renewed. God almighty please bless this healing so that one who died by murderous intent may walk again. Let this act ease the pain of one who screams out for the light and hope itself. By thine just will allow this healing to take place so that the aching pain of one may be resolved or at least aided so she does not fall to the darkness. Restore what was lost in catastrophic event so that this young man may once more breath the fresh air of this world and feel the glorious warmth of the sun...."
Even as Alastin spoke these words energy slowly seeped from his hand to the body slowly renewing and closing the wounds. Regrowing lost bones with the quiet snap and shifting. Reversing the horrendous electrical damage and brushing away the charred marks of the lightning's deadly grip. Everything was coming into place piece by piece as Alastin found himself in a deep trance as he slowly healed the injuries. Offering his own energy in a slow and stately measure as he healed the body bit by bit even then he could still hear and he heard Ziare saying that everything was ready the damage had to be healed. All Alastin had to do was replace something important now. Something that everything was driven off of.
The heart.
"Let the heart of this loved one who was cherished by this pure girl be regrown and renewed. Let it once again be there beating the walk of life..." Alastin whispered and slowly it was regrown and replaced by the cells of the body. Letting the body be reborn. He closed his eyes sweat trickling down his forehead and it was done. Finished. He only hoped that it was done right and they'd soon learn.

Ziare watched as the body began to heal with Alastin's help. But she knew they could not do this without sacrificing something. She had known all along. It was what she had been a bit wary about. But now she knew what she could give for this life. A summon. One that she could give to the Lord above. Equivalent exhange? Not quite but it would help at any rate.
Summoning forth Fianna she knelt before the large snow leopard. She smiled as it nuzzled into her hand. Fianna knew her fate. She had agreed to be the one to go and Ziare was a bit sad to see the large kitten leave.
"Be well, my summon for one day I shall see you on the other side." she whispered.
To finish it all Sheeta used her sword and impaled the leopard. Bursting with the bright light rivaled by only Alastin's cross Fianna went up to heaven and Drake's soul entered his newly replenished body. It had been hard and Ziare would feel the loss of her summon for some time. But with Alastin's eyes closed she hoped he wouldn't notice. Because only he would probably at this point understand just how hard that had been of a sacrifice. Tears rolled down Ziare's cheeks for the loss of Fianna. But life was being renewed.
The soul entered the body. Giving life to what was once dead. She stepped back as she unsummoned Sheeta and Veda. They had done their jobs. The boy was alive again. She took Alastin's hand as she led him away with her. Those two.. they needed some time together.

Alastin's eyes snapped open when he heard what was happening but, they had commited themselves. He just didn't realize what the cost was going to be. He didn't know that they had to give up something of that enormity or he would have never asked Ziare to do this. He would have never have asked if they could do something to help. He shook slightly and turned just to see Fianna dissapearing and reached out with a shaking hand as he saw the cost right there. Fianna had gone willingly however, but, that did little to ease the pain he looked down and realized one important thing. To do something of this enormity you either had to be very powerful or you had to be willing to give something up like Ziare just did.
He now understood the most basic principle of all magic and life it seemed.
Equivalent exchange.
Alastin tilted Ziare's head up and fiercely embraced her holding her close his head resting against hers. A hand moved up and gently wiped her tears away. With a soft and gentle touch as he knew she had made the sacrafice knowing all along what it would cost. It showed just how much Alastin had to learn. He held Ziare closely as he felt her take his hand and looked into her eyes only hoping they did the right thing. Lightly he kissed her on the lips in a soft and soothing kiss.
"Let's go back to my dorm I'll make some mint tea and we'll just snuggle up." He wanted to apologize for asking her but, she already knew what had to be done during this as he had his arm around her shoulders and walked with her giving those two time alone.

In the heavenly lights of above Drake had resided as he gazed down at the Earth below and was faced with something. A calling. Someone was calling him back and he felt the tug and felt a hand touch his shoulder a silent nod exchanged with someone that couldn't quite be seen. Drake bit his lip for a moment as he saw a beautiful snow leopard heading towards the gates and he walked towards the gates himself. It was an exchange something that Drake knew whoever was calling him was well aware of what they were doing. The intelligent ghostly cat he ruffled the ars once and shook his head gently. He was about to tell the cat that something she shouldn't have done this till he heard Celeste's piercing crying wail of pain.
"I see..." Drake said softly and slid his arms around the cats neck for a moment in gratitude for what this being was doing. There was nothing greater in self-sacrafice then what this feline had just done and he nodded at her gently.
"What you did is something I will strive to repay," Drake whispered and Dark who had been standing seperate fused with Drake once more since it called for them. And they were falling. Falling towards the calling. Towards mortality once more.
****************************************************
A gasp as lungs inhaled warm air. Air once more going into his lungs as he lightly undid the shirt for a moment and touched his chest feeling a pale scar where the killing blow once was. Someone had healed him. He moved the soft velvet away and sat up feeling the light, the cold fog...
More importantly.
He heard the cry of Celeste.
He heard her crying sobs and he immeadiately walked towards her taking step after step. Knowing that she might react negatively but, he had to be there for her. Whoever had brought him back must have done it for this and he would have to find them to thank them one day. He closed his eyes when his eyes had fallen on her. She had changed greatly. Wearing a black dress with white ruffles and her hair was much longer died a soft pink.
We're back.
You're stating the obvious.
Can't you not pick on my thoughts just once.
Picking on them is my newest past time.
Drake chuckled mentally at Dark who only gave a return smile and he finally reached out and lightly layed a hand on Celeste's shoulder gently touching it. Gently reminding her of the soft touch. He crouched down behind her and slipped his arms around her from behind. The warmth he felt no longer was it a memory but, reality. He touched her cheek lightly gently wiping away the tears in soft little touches. Finally he turned her around and gave her a soft smile.
"You shouldn't cry Celeste," Drake said softly as he kissed her forehead in a soft touch for a moment before pulling back as he stood with her now and held her hand gently.

Celeste lay on the soft grass that was Drake's grave. It was still hard for her to believe he was gone. Yes, in many ways she had moved on. She had Angra now and loved him deeply. She had killed for Angra and that too weighed heavily on the pink headed young girl. Her blue eyes closed as she clutched the grave. She knew that if the let herself grieve right now then she would be okay until she came again next month.
And so she let all her pain and her tears ring out into the cemetary. Unaware of those that were close. Unaware of their actions or their sacrifices for her. She began to slip to sleep there underneath the heavy cold fog. Oddly she felt no cold at the moment. She wasn't sure why but she felt nothing but the grass beneath her.
But someone must have heard her cries. For a hand was laid on her shoulder and she was pulled up and hugged from behind. It wasn't Angra. He was much broader and muscular than this. Besides Angra hated to see her cry he would probably take her back to the academy and cook pancakes or something. But when she was turned around by the arms and a kiss lay on her forehead she began to tremble.
Dream it was a dream. Oh God tell me it's a dream. He died.. that man killed him. Made me.. oh God.. I ate.. but I can't.. oh God.
Her eyes rolled back in her head and she fainted right there in his arms. Her body sliding down to the grass beneath her as she was gone for the moment.

Drake blinked at the reaction but, caught her so she wouldn't fall to the ground and gave a rueful chuckle for a moment. Not exactly the reaction that he was hoping for but, that was something he was going to have to get used to. By all rights he had been dead for a month and it was certaintly confirmed he knew he was going to get odd looks as he picked her up again. His arms wrapped around her but, he let Dark take over since he would probably be better at handling her when he woke. Drake felt slightly different though when the transformation took place. Like it was easier like he wasn't adding something. What did it mean thought? He frowned slightly as Drake was now Dark who only chuckled softly.
"The little angel faints at the sight of us quite a way to start out our life once more," Dark said with a small smile as he tucked her hair behind her ears.
That's not funny Dark!
"Oh hush Drake you know as well as I do that the odds of us coming back were slim to none. So let me find some humor in this all," Black wings snapped out and Drake could feel it this time as he blinked for a moment at that. Dark paused and blinked at that as well.
"Feels a bit different only slightly..." he murmured as he took off into the air flapping towards the Academy. Mmmmm yes he could imagine that registration form and the shocked looks he was going to get for a few weeks or months but, first right now he had a certain Celeste to take care of.
