Roy walked through the city, finaly coming to his destination. He had given Kegan the adress, and hoped he would meet him here. They were going to fight Melzas. At least, a simulation of Melzas. This would be interesting, to say the least, since Kegan knew nothing of video games. I wonder how Kegan wil react to a VR game.....well, it's not really VR, more like a holo-simulator.He walked in, and immediatly made himself known to the man who ran the place. "Hey, McGhinty! How's it going? You get the Melzas Data I sent you?" Yeah, I got the data. When are you going to fight it? My mom keeps writing me, talking about you like a hero...and you seem to have enough free time to have made the top 10 on this damn game. You've only been attending the Academy for a freaking WEEK, Roy!"I'll take my Custom Character. Who all is on?" Alright.....Zero, Red hair, all Megaman X4 abillities, with the Megaman Zero costume. Extending staff, shield boomerang, charging buster, and Z saber for weapons. There are 50 other players on right now, in a team deathmatch. Green VS. Blue. Which team do you want?"Red. Switch teams to all-blue, and make it a title match." This should be fun to watch. What should I do when the friend the runner mentions arrives?"He's not really a friend....he's an ally. I'm quoting him on that. I'm entering the holo-sim now." As Roy entered the room, he saw several other players fighting it out. Then thier outfits changed from Green to Blue. ((Fight Music: djpretzel.web.aplus.net/songs/Castlevania_2_BloodyHell_OC_ReMix.mp3 )) "Time to have some fun! Who wants some?" Two Kilik players (Soul Calibur) rushed toward him, trying to use the "Heavy Bo" combo. Roy poped off two uncharged buster shots, and a Z Saber slash that eliminated both of them from the game. Then several Dragon Ball Z characters jumped out at him. They went down in short order, with liberal application of the buster and staff. "C'mon! This party's gettin CRAZY!" He quoted Dante, from Devil May Cry, as he executed a "Fallen Phoenix Crush", better known as "Rakuhoha". to take down a group of Ivy and Sueng Mina (Soul Calibur) players. "Ten down, forty to go! C'mon, is that your best?"

Kegan was in his cloak, the hood drawn over his head. He wasn't happy about being in the city. The city mean humans, and humans, to Kegan, meant trouble. But, Roy said they needed training, and this location that he was given was supposed to help them. Roy had written directions and the address of this training facility, and Kegan had reluctantly followed them.
He didn't need the directions. He was a lycanthrope... a werewolf. He could have tracked Roy's scent, locating him very easily. However, that wasn't necessary. He approached the building that matched the address, and entered through the front door. Having lived the vast majority of his life in the forest. Before that, it was a small village. He had done everything he could to avoid the city at all costs. Now, it seemed, he had no choice but to go against his better judgment and follow Roy's lead.
He kept his cloak drawn in tight, and walked up to the guy who seemed to be in charge of letting people in. He lifted his head just enough to make eye contact, and addressed him in his usual gruff, straight-to-the-point tone. "I'm supposed to be meeting someone here. His name is Roy. Where can I find him?"

Kegan, I presume? Well, I can tell your uneasy, so lemme tell you a little something about my establisment.
McGhinty stepped out of the shadoy corner of the room, away from the computers. He was a seven foot tall Lycanthrope.
Yeah....I can't really return to human form...I forgot how. Roy's up on screen right now, decimating a bunch of players seeking his title. Step into the scanner over there and I'll make you a character. Any preferances when it comes to equipment?
--------------------Inside Holo-Simulator----------------
Well, Roy was surrounded.
"So....you've surrounded me. How unfortunate. For you!"
Man, was quoting bad anime and video games fun! Roy was having the times of his life, as he performed another Fallen Phoenix Crush, sending energy out around him in a circle of powerful blasts.
"Yeah....gonna try that again?" Roy said, with a laugh, as he whipped out the Z-Saber. This was getting fun. He was a fan of Megaman X, and knew Zero's moves in and out.
Here, he was unstopable.

Seeing the other lycantrope only put Kegan partially at ease. He was still in the city, and that still meant humans. He Was still unsure about this machine, but he was going to have to trust Roy and his friend if he was going to help him. He looked at the operator of the machine, and answered his question.
"If by equipment you mean weapons, then no. I don't use any. I don't know what this is going to do, but so long as I can use all of my abilities in this arena, then I will be fine."
With that, he closed his eyes, still not knowing what to expect form the strange device he was standing on.

Alright, basic Lycanthrope character. Roy mentioned you could bend fire and earth, so I'll give it those as well. What colors, and clothes, if any? Hell, C'mere and look at the monitor, so you can see how it functions before you actually play.
McGhinty punched up a viewscreen, to show Kegan what was happening, and on the side of it was a picture of Roy's current character, with "Atenwood" in standard Times New Roman font underneath it.
--------------------------Inside the simulator!----------------------
Roy pulled up the shield bomerang, and blocked several energy shots.
"An X player? You must be the first! Good luck, and may the best man win, and all that crap!"
"HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!"
"What the hell, man? Are you screaming when you charge your buster? Oh, by the way, catch!"
Roy let the shield boomerang loose, and it caught the X player accrose the neck, eliminating him, as several others came up behind him. He rushed toward one of them, using the "Boost" feature of the Zero character.
Three slashes with the saber took the first one down, as he drew his staff and struck the second one three times, sending her down. Sueng Mina (Soul Calibur) just wasn't meant for team attacks with that halberd. And three of them at once were easy pickings.
The third one nearly caught him on the shoulder, but her blow glanced off of his Z-Saber. He recognized the character build. A blue haired Sueng Mina, with angel wings. Maria McKoren. Shje was ranked #1 in the Holo-Sim.
"Hello, Roy! I'm going to knock you down a notch! Then you'll be even further from taking my title!
"This was getting boring! It's good to see you again, Maria! This should be fun!"

"Play? This is some kind of... game?" This was all very new to Kegan, but a little intriguing, though he wasn't about to admit it. He had no idea what was going to happen, but the only way he would find out was if he found Roy and asked him. "Just make me look like me." It was all he could think to say. He made his way back to the device he was standing on before.
"So, let me try to understand this. You are putting me into some kind of game? How are you going to do that exactly?" He was nervous standing there, waiting for this machine to do whatever it is that it was supposed to do. He had never seen anything like this, and was tempted to leave. He stopped himself, as he remembered he told Roy he would come. He was not the type to go back on his word. He closed his eyes and prepared for what was to come.
"Go ahead. I'm ready."

Tech went from the street into the game shop, or whatever it was. He had been in a week earlier looking for spare parts for his current projects, and possibly for a few future ones that he was already working on in his head. "Aigh't Ginthy? You called?" When he had been in a week earlier there had been nothing, but the shopkeeper, McGinthy, had promised to contact Tech as soon as there would be anything and Tech had left his phone number. Now, some stupid kid unable to control his temper had thrashed a machine, not too bad but enough that it couldn't be used without heavy repair. "So, what you got for me?" Tech asked the lycanthrobe shopkeeper

Yeah, we needja to fix the goddamn Megaman Classic machine. Nobody with a Megaman character can access them, with the machine smashed like that. Roy's a little bit pissed the he can't acess his Protoman build, y'know? As for you, Kegn, I've got the build set, in you go!
McGhinty pressed the button, and signaled for Maria to leave the game for now. She exited, a little miffed, but eager to see what Roy really looked like.
Roy waved at Maria as he exited the game, and stepped into the "Training" scanner, so that he could be put into a private server, with Kegan and the Melzas Data.
In a few moments, both Kegan and Roy were on the private server.
A large figure loomed over them, with glowing yellow eyes. It was relatively humanoid, but it's face was that of a monster.
Roy drew his staff, his demeanor going from laid-back and nervous to something akin to rightous fury.
"There it is, Kegan. The demon that plauges Inoa. Now is the time to bow out, if you want. I won't think any less of you."

Kegan was trying to make sense of what just happened. He understood that he was in some kind of game, but that was about all he could get. Now, he was standing next to Roy facing down a demon. Roy offered him the chance to back out, and Kegan only shook his head. "I never go back on my word." With that, he readied himself for battle. He would start with bending. If he could keep from transforming, then all the better. However, he doubted that would happen.
He turned to Roy, never loosing sight of their enemy. "So, is there some plan of attack, or are we just going at it?" He watched for any sign of movement form the evil before them, prepared to lash out should this thing attack first. Kegan was not one to hesitate, but this was Roy's battle, and he was only there to help. If Roy had a plan, he would follow it.

"Aigh't, sure. You gonna pay me cash or you got some spare parts for me?" Tech didn't register the mention of the name ´Roy´ at first, and when he did he pushed it aside. There could be other Roys around, and even if the was ´his´ Roy it didn't matter. "If you have any of those special processors it would be handy, I got a beacon that burned out and I can't find a data processor anywhere else." The beacon was an essential part in the equipment he used to gain extra-dimensionel attention, a thing that could prove essentiel to their trip, or mission, in Ireland. "Which of the machines is it, anyway? Is it out back?"

McGhinty pulled a small, broken machine out of a clost, and turned it on.
Five hundred dolars, cash. That okay with you? The thing boots up, but nobody can access any characters on it. I'm out of processors, sorry.
After a moment, a strange shadow fell over the "Training" scanners, making an unnoticable sound. Roy and Kegan would notice soon enough, however.
Maria, who lookd a lot like her character in the Holo-Sim, except without wings, fluffed her hair, and waited for Roy. Although, she thought Kegan was Roy, and wondered why the red-haired bot had waved at her.
------------------------Inside Holo-Sim---------------------------
"Plan of attack.......well, I can tell you what to watch out for-"
Before Roy could get the sentance finished, the demon thundered out a laugh.
Roy Atenwood! If there was ever a fool, it was you! You claim to be researching me, to defeat me, but you forgot that I can posess ANY image of myself! I have transferred a portion of my power into this virtual image! The two of you must fight, or die.
Roy could sense that, for whatever reason, this was only a portion of hte demon's power. Around a tenth of his power, acually....but this wasn't a part of the sim.
I was only able to channel one tenth of my power into this virtual body. It should be enough. I'll let the two of you have the first move.
Roy's face contorted in anger."This is...real.....I've only got three words, Kegan. Kick. Its. Ass."

Kegan growled. "Fine by me. This thing is beginning to irritate me." He thew four shots, a right and left punch, then jumped in the air, kicking out twice, right then left. Each time a stream of fire flew forward, all aimed at the demon. "Burn in hell!" Kegan shouted. There was something about battle that caused his blood to grow warm. Perhaps the wolf within enjoyed fighting, though Kegan only did it out of necessity.
He continued his charge, rushing at the demon, no trace of fear on his face. There was only hate for what this thing was, and for it's over confidence. he threw another punch and a kick, sending two more streams of fire at his target.

Outside of the Holo-Sim, McGhinty noticed something wrong with the Training machines.....they were crackling with electricity.
Good lord.....EVACUATE THE SHOP! Everyone get out! This machine is posessed!
McGhinty couldn't disconnect it, because that would trap Roy and Kegan in a void, and for some reason, Maria refused to leave.
Is Roy going to be ok? Maybe you should give him his custom? He could kick that thing's ass with Zero or Protoman!
Good idea. That Kegan guy seems strong enough on his own, but Roy's powers are...well....he can't really controll them.
McGhinty tapped on a keyboard for a few minutes, hopeing he could do something.
He couldn't.
Tech! Lend me a hand, wouldja?
----------------Inside Holo-Sim-----------------------
Well, Kegan had the basic idea. Roy was about to leap into action himself, when Melzas' voice boomed out once more.
You honestly think you can destroy something that is ETERNAL? I am a GOD!
"Right. Don't make me laugh, Melzas."
Roy launched himself toward Melzas at full speed, and jumped into the air. The only advantage Kegan and Roy had was that magic took no energy inside of the Holo-Sim.
Roy moved his left hand backward, and whispered "Ignus", Igniting his hands. He closed them, to keep the flames from spurting out, and slammed both fists into Melas' torso just as Kegan's flames hit him.
It did nothing. Nothing visible, at least.
Resisting is useless, foolish mortals.
"Right. Whatever. You're giving me a headache!" Roy began to pummel the demons torso, which he realized was GROWING, each punch releasing a blast of flame.
It knocked him away with a large tentacle, which was tipped with a large blade. He got out his staff, and blocked the blade, but he still went flying.
"This isn't good."
Melzas had grown to 20 feet tall, his glowing yellow eyes and dark outline the only visible representation of the demon.
Melzas shot one huge ttentacle at Kegan, as Roy prepared to strike again.

"Five hundred? I'll go for that. I guess I'll just have to look another place for that processor then" Tech accepted the machine and let artificial eye scan its interior. Judging by the amount of damage done whoever had broken it had not been very strong but had managed to hit the right, or wrong, places. The thing wouldn't require a lot of effort but quite a bit of time. "I'll have it back for in a few days, ok? I got some other projects running as well. But if you get hold of one of those processors call me, day or night. I'm going hunting for something dark and nasty, and I need to know the first thing it notice will be the beacon, not me or anyone else"
Then things started to move fast, and in a strange direction. Before Tech knew what was going on another one of the machines seemed to be overloaded, nearly everybody was running out of the place and McGinthy was asking him for a hand. Tech was a little befuddled byt it all, but managaed to pull himself together. "Sure. What with, exactly?"

Goddamn it...I knew letting Roy and Kegan fight a virtual representation of Melzas was a bad idea......I need you to get in the scanner, Tech. I'll scan you in, and you can help them fight.
What about me? I'm the best there is at this game! If the program has gone haywaire, I can help defeat it!
Well, here was something awfully hard to describe to a young woman like Maria. She was a vampire, and most likely the only one Roy diddn't want to kill. She was headstrong, and had strong magic, but she diddn't know how to use it, and couldn't fight in the real world at all. To top it all off, she was McGhinty's adopted daughter.
This isn't a game any more, Maria. I know you've met Roy in-game, and beaten him there, but this is real, now. They're fighting for their lives, against an ancient demon that lives near my home village, Inoa. Roy's the one who thought he could kill it, if he trained his mind and body. I hope to the gods he can.
Damn....they're really in danger? Why did you let him do this? Wait a minute........why can't I use my character?
Because of how the Training Server functions. It's used for real combat, against two or more people. It functions on a time-space distortion unit that Roy himself devised, although he couldn't build it. What they're fighting in is NOT a video game, but a pocket dimension.
Wow.......Roy's a pretty smart guy. Kind of.
That was when Maria went into day-dream mode. She imagined spending time with the white-haired young man, Kegan, that she had mistaken for Roy.
She imagined things only a vampire would think of. Go figure, eh?
The things she imagined would have made Hugh Hefner blush. But that's a different story. Hopefully one that doesn't need to be told.
--------------------Inside the Holo-Simulator?--------------------
The tentacle going for Kegan turned, and headed straight at Roy. The blade on the end of it gleamed, deadly in it's simple, barbaric funcionality.
Roy jumped straight up, thrusting his staff downward at the tendril, and was knocked aside by another one.
"Sonova.......", was all Roy could manage to say, before the air rushed from his chest. It wrapped around him, carefull not to cut him at all, and brought ihm up to the demon's face.
Do you give up yet, child? I am eternal. I am a god. You cannot hope to win against an evil power as great as mine.
"Evil? Don't make me laugh.....morality has nothing to do with this! I don't belive in good or evil! IGNUS!"
Roy burned away the tentacle, and fell to the ground, landing in a crouch. He drew his silver dagger, as he sheathed his staff. Ingraved in the dagger were the words "Hellspawn's Bane", in ancient Inoan script.
Alundra's knife? That will do nothing to me. The magic residing in it has long since faded. If he couldn't manage to kill me, what makes you think that you can?
"Well, for on, you killed my little sister Nadia, and used her body to creat another minion! Also, you just plain piss me off!"
Hmmm......Nadia, you say? It was your fault, for not being able to foresee Nava being my pawn!
The demon trumpeted a laugh out over Roy, who was only three feet from its shadowy mass. The laugh was loud and strong enough to make Roy's hair blow out behind him.
So...the battle has truely begun? Then let us fight. I will humble you, Whelp.
"Right......I won't hold back, Melzas."
Roy used his jumping spell to fly a full 50 feet into the air, and cast his Ignus spell once again. He closed his right hand, meaning to bring it down on the demon's head.
"Give me back my SISTER YOU SON OF A BITCH!"
