Mmm... Nutmeg.
Hmm... Jyo's spell had actually powered up? Quite a show, really, he felt his bone crack when it hit him, but then, Hakfu had a low endurance. Shaking his head with a little smile, he waved his right hand a little, dismissing the damage.
"Ah no, no worries. 'Tis a mark of a good battle, and I'm glad to have fought you and only come off with this. At any rate, this is the Arcane Academy.. its a physical wound, so, easy to mend with magic, I'd think, aye?"
As if on que, Jyo offered him the healing potion, further proving his point. He loved this place, he really did. However, he still felt a fatigue, besides the pain in his arm.. he'd better take it easy for a day or two, give his soul a day or so to recover from the damage he tore from it. Squeezing his left arm, he nodded in compliance with Jyo's offer, silently taking it. A mother's healing potion eh?
"Compliments to your mother, Jyo."
He raised it up, as to cheer it, and downed it, handing back the bottle, putting his right hand instinctively over his left arm. Hang on... the bone wasn't quite in the right place. Giving it a tight squeeze, he bit back a gasp, as some of the fast-acting healing potion spilled out of his arm, showing his arm to be healed already.. it had a burning sensation, but nothing that would hinder him further. Hakfu smiled back at Jyo.
"Thanks.. good stuff, good stuff."
They headed inside, Hakfu, more or less, following Jyo to find this place.. still exploring this vast floating island. Getting their drinks, he went to the spice rack and spotted in some nutmeg, whispering to himself a little.
"Spices seem to make everything better.."
Sitting down, Jyo conferred to his Chinese origins. There was a grin in response to this. However.. there was a hint of.. something. What? Of sadness? Of bitterness?
"..That is true. I am Chinese, and, I suppose I should've been found by the Monastary, as my forefathers of the Hakfu Clan were. But, it was an Arcane Academy teleporter who found me and teleported me up here.. a long story, one hardly worth telling, and one fairly embaressing to tell of anyways."
Choosing to change the subject however, he went onto Jyo's aforementioned comment, leaning over, taking a quick sip before he took a good look at Jyo.
"I am more interested however, in how it is you grew up here. Born and raised here? That's fascinating, really.. and something I find amusing, as I didn't even know such a wonderful place existed, or for that matter, the existence of magic users outside of myself. And yes, if your wondering, these things do amuse me."
Laughing to himself a little, he took a gulp for a change, feeling the scalding coffee go down his throat, in contrast with how wet he felt on the outside, a satisfying warmth in his body now. It was really great feeling.
"Do you have any specialties though, in your family line, or anything that you yourself specializes in? You seem like you an overall 'kick everyone's ass' mage, if you'll allow me to pat your ego on the back."
Absentmindedly, he was stirring his coffee a little, pouring in a refill, opening up a cream packet and pouring it in. Was too lazy to get up and get any of the spices, however.. no matter how much the cinnimon or nutmeg cried out to him to flavor his drink. He stirred on with his sthingy. But, never once did he fully lose eye contact with Jyo, one eye closing, resting. Bah, that battle had taken more out of him then he had expected..

Jyo himself ordered a cup of hot choclate. A drink he had loved since he was a small child. "I dunno. I think the story behind yourself might be interesting. But as you seem mostly interested in myself for now I will divulge the information." He said then took a sip of his drink.
"Well let's see how can I make this short to a point, I was born here in the Academy. my Father is one of the higher ranked mages here and my mother is a spell-caster as well. It sems fire is the main element of my family lone. As my father is proficent with it as well as my mother and myself." He said and took a small break
"I learned most of my knowladge in the world in the library. A place full of knowladge about almost anything. Even though my father didn't want me being schooled until I was a legal adult I still practiced small magic and studying about different stylings. During this time I was also taught social manners and how to wield a sword." He took another breath.
"As soon as I hit eighteen I was taking classes and advancing through them quickly. If i had to give credit for anything it would be my appetite for learning. thats what has driven me along so far. As for being an all around fighter. My strength is in my versitality. I might not overpower people in all fields. But with the balance I try to maintain I have strengths where everyone has weaknesess. The trick is figuring out how to exloit them." He said and took another drink.
"Well I filled your ears about me. Now it's your turn. I've not studied much about you'r magic type and am interested to learn more about you." he said.

History of the Hakfu Clan
An appetite for learning. Yes. It was a drive powerful to make any man always yearn for more, and, this was the perfect enviroment to do thus. He opened up his right eye, so that he could look at Jyo with both of his eyes. What he was looking at.. was a genius. And of fire, it would seem.. he noted inwardly at how blackened Dai looked, with all the fire that charred his skin in their battle. There was powerful magic here, very powerful magic.
As was common for him, he nodded and smiled (again) at Jyo.
"I see... power in versatility, perfect enviroment for a fellow scholar, like yourself, swordsmen skills, and then.. yes. I look upon a man who's destined to be among the greatest mages of our times, it would seem. Again, I must say it is an honor to meet you."
At that last bit, Hakfu bowed. It was his turn, now, though. He had.. avoided talking for as long as he could, but, after all the mannerisms, Jyo did deserve an answer from this lowly scholar who stood before him.
"Where to begin, where to begin?.. give me a moment."
He leaned forward on his seat, his hands massaging his forehead intensely. There was still much afte-effecting fatigue he felt from the battle, so he shook his head a little, and made his mouth slack, eyes closed, and then, suddenly opening, looking at Jyo.
"Eh.. sorry about that. Couldn't think properly for a moment there."
He coughed into his right hand, which he had balled up into a cone. Bah, he needed mor sleep.
"Right.. again, I must mention, that I am from the Hakfu Clan. The Hakfu Clan was almost two thousand years ago, by a man, also named Hakfu Song, who lived in Ancient China, around in the 200 A.D. years. From my research on my family's history.. he was no one to be proud of, and was a corrupt, perverse, and evil man. It was said, however, that his only mark of actually helping defining the Hakfu Clan was that by accident, he found, and contacted the Protoss. They say that he was cursed, but in which way can be told later.. and, I am actually unsure on the details myself, to an extent."
Leaning back his mug to his lips, he took a gulp. He grabbed a napkin and wiped his mouth with it. With his right hand, he took out a small book, his own journal, then, another, his father's journal, and then a large book, his family's history. He looked up at Jyo.
"And, well, if you look in the family history.. the Hakfu Clan was reknowned to the 'Monastary' as one of their illustrious clans that sent their sons and daughters to them. It was a summoning clan that was completely devoted to the Monastary, but it was said that members of our family always seemed to disappear, around the time a new child was born, so that, the Monastary always seemed to be raising the orphans of the Hakfu Clan, and helped keep the clan from disappearing. My father, apparently, decided that it was enough, thinking that the Monastary was subjugating members of the Hakfu Clan to capture, so as to learn our summoning secrets.. but, its no secret really, just, our special pact."
A sad smile.. the mug stood before him, half-empty.
"The Protoss, as aforementioned.. are the summons of my Clan, because of Hakfu Song from Ancient China. As the Protoss seek knowledge of other worlds, being such mighty deities as they are, they allow themselves to materialize as corperol creatures, bonded by their summoner, and learn what the summoner learns. My clan in turned, summoned them in times of need, using tarot cards and wordology alone. It was my father's thoughts... that it was the 'Monastary' that kept on trying to capture our family members."
Pausing a little, he took his hand to his cup again, and swivelled it around playfully, staring into its depths. Nodding to himself, he brought it up, and had the hot waters of spice, flavor, water, and caffiene go down his throat, satisfying himself for the moment. He held it up, holding it for Jyo to see, a strange look of annoyance on his face.
"My father apparently, failed to read up on all of the family history, or take note of the Monastary's kindness. It was the MONASTARY that actually held our family's history, updated it for every family member's journal.. and of course, compressed it, so that it was only the Hakfu Clan that could read it. In fact... all of these books, these journals before you.. you would be unable to read any of this, unless the energy from one of the Hakfu Clan was spread onto its pages. It would just be a mass of symbolic incantations that you would read, which are there for nothing more but to distract and confuse the reader."
Hakfu took another swig and put the mug down on the table, a little forcibly, perhaps, his right arm was shaking now, and he put his left arm onto it, until the shuddering stopped.
"Sorry about that.. tends to happen after I summon my deity for a while. But.. it is because of my father that I am not a part of the monastary. He pulled our Clan out of the monastary.. and then, as I was at the age of seven, he decided to release the summoning powers in me.. I blacked out, and, was left with the thoughts that the ceremony of summoning was incomplete. In the orphanage, I often visited the void, at least, once a day, just to see the Protoss, to try and enlighten myself to their ways, and to learn how to summon something. My energy permitting, I could only visit there once a day, until the age of eighteen, when I was released as a legal adult."
He took a moment to breathe for a little while. Grabbing for his coffee, he downed it, and then, wiping his mouth, look wide-eyed over at Jyo.
"Ah... forgive me... I speak too much, too much, and leave no room for you to speak, it seems. My apologies for my thoughtlessness.."
Frowning slightly in embaressment, he bowed in his chair, his hands held together.

Jyo was about to ask if the man was okay right before he spoke. jyo didn't know if it was the damage he himself inflicted. Or a combination of that and the summoning the man had to use. But then Hafku spoke again. Jyo payed rapt attention to what he said. Drinking in the details. He waited until he was done
"Very interesting. A clan opf people summoning a single versitial race. I haven't heard of that before. And I have studied alot. I guess that shows how much we all have to learn." he said with a smile. One thing he had noticed during his time spent around Hafku was while the man was no coward by any means. he seemed to lack self-confidance.
"Sorry for being so blunt. But I notice you don't seem to think too highly of yourself. I'm not sure why though. You seem to have an impressive attribute at your disposal. And if you come from a clan of people who can do this.... thats just plain amazing. it's a more unique branch of magic than I have learned. I have the feeling you're going to progress fast." he said. He noticed Hafku still wasn't looking well.
"Here let me try something I have been reading up on." He said putting his left hand on Hafkus right forearm. he closed his eyes and channeld a bit of his own energy into him. He knew pain supression. but Hafku looked more like he needed to be revitalized.
"Well thats the best I can do. I'm not to skilled with this sort of thing. Looks like you need some rest after we talk." he said.
OOC: Actually using the name Protoss for the race. Nifty. I am a Starcraft fan bigtime. And am all for the mighty Protoss

OOC: Righteous. Protoss rocks.
An Unfinished Story
He felt a swerve of energy fill his arm again, and then, come out, a strange feeling of lightness overcoming it. Grinning in gratitude, he felt his arm again. Pain suppression.. not bad. But... it was still there... not just his arm. It was, his whole body.. he looked up at the ceiling, not looking at anybody in particular.
".. You're right, I suppose. Not sure if I do think highly of myself, but then.. its all become so normal, so natural to me, I hardly get bothered by it. If anything, my mannerisms are driven by habit, and yes, I suppose I'm used to being in the dead-end pan of things. But, I haven't told you the whole story, and, I don't even know the ending to it."
He shifted his eyes uneasily to his arm, and held it before himself and Jyo.
"Look. It looks fine, doesn't it? But, I suppose your still wondering why I show fatigue, aye?"
Lowering his hand down on the table, he flipped it over, revealing the hundreds of cuts on it, all used to use his own blood to summon his Deity.
"As I said before, my clan used tarot cards and wordology alone to summon Protoss. I, however, use blood, and more.. I use my soul."
Leaning back, he rested himself into his chair.. he debated saying more, and agreed with himself. This man was honorable. He could share a secret.
Magic Perversity
"The thing you must understand is.. I am very different from my Clan. As the sole heir, I deem even myself an outcast, in ways. You see.. when a Protoss joins with its summoner in bondage, they have an eternal bond. The summoner cannot have more then one Protoss summon. I however, can summon Kai, the fire deity, Dai, the electric deity, and Sai, the water deity. A loophole I found in the rules.. and yet, a perversity of magic in that way."
Taking out three cards, he slipped out his ritual dagger, making a quick new cut on his upturned wrist, letting it bleed on the tarot cards, before bandaging up the new cut. The look on his face was one of normalacy.. he had done this so many times, it barely bothered him now. On the three cards, Hakfu's blood formed three different symbols, but, the inner core of them.. was the same double circle. He slid them across the coffee table to Jyo, and pointed to the cards.
"Do you notice the same double circle they all share? Well, the answer is simple on why that is.. They are one deity, they are a trinity. The one and the same, but with many faces. A protoss I made a blood deal with. And because of the extra strain, I not only need just my energy, but my soul to maintain my deity in its corporel form. So in some ways... you could say I've branched out into a form of summoning very much like that of a warlock."
He looked back down at the coffee table, and shook his head, smiling a little.
"Forgive me again, I began to ramble on again. There is yet a lot to tell, but, my tongue could go on bantering about much useless information, as any other could. Thank you again for the pain supression.. didn't feel a thing when I cut my wrist. But in truth.. finding Arcane Academy was the greatest thing in the world, but, this emptiness has crawled back into me. I marvel at your talents, because you see, I am completely dependent on my summons to perform magic."
Standing up, he brushed himself off, and walked with his cup over to throw it away. Walking back to Jyo, he nodded, wobbling slightly.
"I'll take your offer to take a rest, if you don't mind.. but, thank you for your kind words. I shan't forget them. But I ask that you do not, in turn, forget my words. You are a great wizard of high power. If you need a new spell, you can find me normally in the library."
Leaning over the coffee table, he picked up his journal, his father's journal, and the family journal. All that was left was the family history.. and that was still in the Monastary. He took a step towards the exit of the building, but stopped. He didn't move his head around, however.
"I may go visit the Monastary soon. To.. find something out. I'm not sure when, but, should I go, would you be interested in accompanying me?"
Hakfu's summons were a perversity to magic, that he knew. But staring away from everything else.. he shook his head. Anything.. he would do anything to make sure this world stayed safe. He had to get stronger, to help lessen magic rifts. A responsibility that they had, as the new generation of magicians.. it was a responsbility that God had given them, and one that they had to use to protect this world... and in his Machiavellian beliefs, whatever it took, even.. his soul, would all be a small price to pay for the greater good.
But first.. he had to learn more about himself and his capabilities. He had a story to finish.

Jyo listened with a high degree of interest as to how Hafku used his abilities. So he's linked to his summons beyond most summoners of his clan. And he is the soul Heir. His bearing is much more understandable now. Jyo thought as he once more filed away the critical details in his mind.
Hafku decided to take his leave of Jyo for now. But at the exit he spoke and made and offer Jyo couldn't refuse, "Yes. that sounds very enriching. When you are ready just send notice to dorm #657. Or #785. The first one is my place the second is my fiance's." He said and gave a wave hoping he got rested well. Jyo himself wanted to stay here for a bit and ponder the conversation the two of them had. he had learned quite a bit about Hafku. And had been made an offer to learn even more.

Time to Rest
"..Thank you. I appreciate it, really, I do."
Nodding to himself, he took a few more steps. He disappeared back into the cloudy skys, the droplets of rain coursing down his body. Time for more research. No. Time to sleep.
