Veyugan's fists clenched tightly in anticipation. He was bored, and he wanted someone to come along and fight. Someone worthy. Veyugan didn't know too many people within this large, up-scale school, and maybe through fighting or lurking in the training grounds would he be able to meet more. However, depending on the person and how they faught, that would also decide if Veyugan could like that person. Fighting with honor and not fighting dirty was something Veyugan admired. Although - if one could prove to be a worthy opponent, regardless of how they faught, well that was something Veyugan also held high respect for.
Pressing his back against the large oak tree in the middle of the clearing, Veyugan thought he heard someone approaching. Maybe someone has come to train. Maybe Veyugan would have a partner today. He didn't move - he just let his eyes flicker all around him to see where the person would come from.

Onira walked through the area. No real reason. He had no classes for the next little while, and didn't really feel like being anywhere busy. So, he just let his feet take him where they wanted to go. As long as it was quiet.
The young man's black dress-shoes continued, forming wrinkles in the khaki pants touching them, and even a few lines making birth in the short-sleeved, black T-shirt. However, one did not see if it was short-sleeved, because of the slightly view-blocking white cloak, dancing at Onira's feet.
The apprentice, hair putting off it's impossible, mystical glow in the sunlight, saw over the rim of his small glasses to a figure, resting against a tree.
"How interesting."
Onira approached slowly, part of him feeling that any threatening movements would end up badly. Almost like being around a confused, not frightened animal, but somewhat wary. However, this didn't put down his sometimes unnatural friendliness.
He waved to the one resting against the tree.
"Howdy!"

Veyugan watched the boy appear and at first, wasn't able to decide whether it was a girl or a boy. The long blonde hair confused him as he saw a boyish figure - with a girly hairstyle. However, it was something Veyugan was not going to mock him for, as he himself had somewhat long hair. Watching the boy approach him, Veyugan crossed both arms across his chest, leaving them to rest there as he scanned the boy cautiously. "Howdy!" Veyugan snickered at the greeting, bringing up a time he saw a cowboy western film on television. How he hated movies ... fake, and unscripted fighting. It never impressed him - no matter how real it looked. Fight club was the only movie he was ever interested in. Despite the fact that it was scripted. Being talked to by a stranger, it wasn't nice to not say hi back, so Veyugan had to do something to show the boy acknowledgement. Raising his right arm up, he flicked his wrist in such a fashion to say hi. Whether the boy understood or not - well, that wasn't Veyugan's concern. He didn't care as long as he got a fight out of this. Being at this academy for a day or two, and not even having a fight yet? That was something Veyugan wished to change ...

Onira continued walking, coming closer. He saw the hand raise up, and was unsure if it was a spell or just a friendly gesture. He was happy to see the stranger flick his wrist slightly, Onira easily saw as a friendly wave. He was more relaxed now. He could see that he didn't have to be as cautious. Why? Because if the stranger had wanted to harm Onira in secret, chances were he would have done it already. Interesting. Onira, maybe too much so, was expecting some sort of combat. Maybe it had been too long since he had expressed his powers in that way. Maybe he needed some practice. But, that could wait. For now, he'd just relax.
The blond-haired male continued walking, soon speeding up and jumping placing his foot on the side of the tree, maybe four feet above Veyugan's head. As he landed, he placed his right palm against the tree, transmuting a few grooves to climb up, using the solomon seal tattoo he bore. Onira climbed up a few more grooves, soon finding a sturdy branch which he sat on. It had been too long. He hadn't sat in a tree for quite a time, and he missed it a lot. He used to relax at the top after training, but now never really thought about it. Either training, or busy with something else.
Onira called dwon to the stranger.
"How's your day?"

Veyugan's head titled forward, letting his crimson colored hair cover his face. His eyes closed, and his body remained motionless. Feeling the boy come close, Veyugan did nothing. Not a muscle twitched. The aura of a person seemed to hover above him as he leaned against the tree - face still hidden from view. A snicker came from Veyugan as he snapped his eyes open, and raised his head. Stepping forward, his hand was sent backward, clutching the handle of La' Kriefa, his gunblade that was also resting against the tree. His body moved forward, out of the shade - and into the clearing. Coming to a halt, Veyugan inhaled deeply - bringing in the crisp air to his body. Lifting the blade up, he rested the back of the blade against his shoulder while he exhaled. A small smirk shot across his face as he held the gunblade upward - letting the tip of the blade point upward. The sun bounced rays of light from his blade - blinding any who were 'lucky' enough to be at the right angle. Wrapping his finger around the trigger, Veyugan pulled lightly - watching the blade recoil ever so slightly. The bullet left the blade and traveled upward into the sky - lost forever. Letting out a small chuckle, he tossed the blade to his right while turning to face the tree. The blade stuck into the soft earth as his eyes closed in on Onira, the one who came upon Veyugan. His voice was raised to speak. "Hey! Wanna have a little spar?" [/b]

Onira watched the movements. From it, he drew out all he could. Studying each placement of the hand. Each rotation. Even the bullet exitting. All of it was watched, very closely as well. He could see that one was very in tune with his reflexes. This was good for him, but relatively bad for others around him. God knows he could accidently shoot someone, just because they woke him up. Or something along those lines.
The apprentice kept his eyes on the strange one. he seemed decent with his blade, but that's not what mattered. What mattered was his spells. What could he do? That was a mystery Onira would only know if he fought him. However, that also brought something with it. If he fought him, would he win? Alchemy was a great battle against someone with melee combat experience. It really brought a battle. Especially with one who uses his alchemy like Onira. One who uses it like a weapon. Like a tool. Something alchemy is. A tool. Not a standalone weapon. A tool to assist. And, in a way, alchemy was the ultimate melee weapon. Why? Because, it was everchanging. You can make virtually anything to fit the occasion. If the need arise, of course.
Onira almost fell off the tree at the strangers words. It was like he had read his mind. Well, so be it. Might be fun.
"Alright. But since you put out the challenge, you gotta start!"
Onira wagged his finger, sort of like he was playing. Not so much fighting.

The smile upon Veyugan's lips instantly turned into a devious little smirk as he watched Onira fall from the tree. 'Good. He wants to play.' Veyugan's mind read him the message as he watched the boy land, and reposition himself. Veyugan was overjoyed that he was to have his first fight. However - it was definitely not his first fight, but only his first one in this school. Being in a fight club composed of some very strong people since you were 13 was a very good asset to have under your belt. Being nineteen years old now, Veyugan had a very large experience in fighting. Six or so years.
Yes, one could say Veyugan was very good in hand to hand combat. Although - with seeing alot of people here, that six years might fall short of others who have been fighting their entire life. However - Veyugan had a hack. A cheat code. A mod. What was that? The ability to control his own bodily energy, and use it as a weapon. in hand to hand combat, Veyugan was a deadly machine. Even from far away - he could strike you with a controlled and concentrated mass of energy. Yes, Veyugan felt as if Chi was the ultimate weapon in existence. Especially since it needs no time for preperation. Although .. if not used sparingly - one could find themselves unconscious rather quickly.
So, it seemed Veyugan would be the first one to attack. Good. He wanted that. This would be a perfect time to practice his Heirut skill, as well as his Kangas slash. Fixating his eyes completely upon his opponent, the smirk widened. Veyugan had the element of surprise. Taking off in a full on sprint, Veyugan closed in quickly upon his foe. When he was no more than three feet away, he let his chi flow into his right hand - letting no signs be made that this was happening. Unless ... one could see chi being controlled. As it reached his right palm, he immediately teleported his body behind Onira. A four foot teleport - using a fraction of his energy. About ... an eighth. As he instantly re-appeared behind Onira, before anything could be said or done, he brought his right arm across, and used his Kangas Slash upon the back of Onira. Four fingers acting like blades - wanting to pierce through the clothing, and give four defined slash marks upon the back of Onira. However, the slash wasn't at full power as this was only a spar. So, only four slash marks would appear - not very deep, but deep enough to draw blood. However, his attack might not connect at all. It all depended.

(OOC: I said I ALMOST fell off, never actually coming down. But that's okay. I can work with this.)
"Chi."
Onira had an idea of what Veyugan could do. His attack for one. Most people Onira had seen who attacked in that manner, usually used chi or some other kind of melee combat. The teleport, although unexpected, was factored in. A few people seemed to be able to teleport in the school, and Onira had a defence for the strike. It took fairly low energy, which was probably the best part about it.
As the attack came in, Onira instantly dropped to the ground, planting his palms against the ground. Automatically, an earthen wall formead a small egg around him, just enough to keep his body protected. However, although this was the defence, a counter attack was also used. As soon as the barrier was placed, many spikes burst from the ground, right where Onira figured Veyugan to be. Although he couldn't be sure, he figured the best place to be was at his rear. However, although the technique was a good attack point, it was so commonly used that an attack from there was almost expected, meaning one didn't have to have eyes in the back of his head to know what was coming.
After the spikes were used, Onira would simultaneously open the top of his cocoon and launch himself out straight into the air. He knew that if the stranger hadn't been impaled by the spikes, he would teleport behind the airborn Onira. However, he was unsure whether or not he could teleport a good thirty feet into the air.

*I watched as the two did battle. The red haired one seemed to have a good degree of skill. The other one... well, I would have to wait and see.
I stood a good deal away. They could only see me if they really tried to, but I could see fine. My mind's eye did the seeing for me.
I did not want to interfere until the fight ended. For now, i just watched, seeing who the stronger was.*

OOC:: Shit. Well kids, that's what happens when you rush to post. You fuck up. XD
]] POST [[
As Veyugan went for the slash, he watched the body of Onira fall to the ground, and instantly become trapped, or shielded within some type of oval shape. His fingers collided with the egg-shaped container, and he pulled his hand back. Something told him to move. Being this close to the egg wasn't a very good idea. So, using his Kayokin ability, he pushed himself backward - gliding five or so feet backward, and a little bit upward in almost an instant. However, as he glided backwards, a spike managed to catch his shoe, and punctured a small hole in the bottom, narrowly missing his big toe. As the glide stopped, his body grounded. Where the fuck had those spikes came from? What is that egg thing?
As soon as the question settled within his mind, the egg snapped open - launching Onira into the air for a good ten or twenty yards. Smiling, Veyugan began to charge a certain amount of energy to his right hand - letting it gather there. As Onira was about to hit the highest point of his ascent, Veyugan thrust his hand forward - letting a rather large ball of pure energy fly towards his foe. With an extra push, Veyugan sent the ball through the air at almost the exact speed of lighting, however not that fast. The ball of energy itself was about the size of a basketball, and it was headed toward's Onira's legs. As he would begin his fall, the ball would be at chest level if it collided with his body.

Onira sailed upwards, soon catching the image of the stranger. He was a little proud of himself. Sure he had only nicked the opponent, but he had touched, which was exactly what he wanted to do. He had proven that he could at least land something. He could at least partly measure up. Even if he lost, in a way, he had won. He knew that if he had increased the spikes only a centimeter more outward, he would have won. Or at least hurt the stranger's foot. Badly.
The young man continued upwards, keeping his eye on Veyugan. However something unsettled him. A pure ball of energy being created by the stranger, now launched at his body. Onira muttered to himself.
"Shit."
The blond-haired apprentice had almost a look of fear in his violet orbs. However, he more had a look of intelligence. As if knowing what was happening. He knew what to do. He knew how to cushion the attack. With air. He was never very good with using air alchemy, being better with solid objects. However, he knew enough to increase the air pressure, even if only a little. This would soften the blow, and turn a possibly life threatening attack, into a bit more than a hard bruise, keeping the arm in front tender and a bit scratched up, but still useable.
Onira was moved back down to the Earth after the hit, softening the blow through a small bit more of wind alchemy, softening the soil and letting him gently skid along the grass, instead of twisting an ankle and possibly breaking a bone.
"You're good."
