Jyo had been very curious as to what his blast and shield magic were based on. As much as he had learned he wasn't sure how to figure out exactly what it was. H e figured he would go to a teacher and just get to finding out what it was.
He remembered Byron who had taught his magic 101 class. He seemed to have a vast knowladge of magic. He would probably be able to answer.
He knew where the teacher was. He grabbed his normal clothing and donned it then sheathed his sword leaving his gun behind as he wouldn't need it.
Jyo was soon knocking on the Byron's door. He planned to see if the teacher had time to come to the training grounds with him as fireing his beam inside the school probably wouldn't be the smartest thing he could do.

Opening the door, Byron looked down at Jyo and smiled calmly at him, surprised he'd be here. Behind him was a table filled with paper. Also, there was a cup of tea behind him, resting on his desk as he stared down at Jyo. Knowing that look, Byron guessed at to what he wanted...he wanted to fight against him. Quickly he nodded to him as he got out his blade, ready to accept his challenge if that was what he was asking.
"So tell me.....why have you come?" Byron asked, his face calm and relaxed.

Jyo smiled and chuckled. that had not been his original intent. but if the chance to see what his instructor could do was offered he would take it. "I would like that very much. But actually I had come to see if you could help me detirmine exactly what branch of magic a couple of my spells are based in. That knowladge would help greatly in controling it so I could use it against other in practice without seriously harming them." he said. His mind was flashing back to his small bout with Hafku. He had nearly killed his new friend. He had to get this spell under control.
"So sir. If you would come down to the training grounds with me so I could give you a demonstration I would appriciate it. And then I would love to train with you." he said. He knew the blast he would produce would drain him. But Talbot had mixed up some of her replenishing candies for him. Her alchemy skills impressed him to a hih degree.

"Naturally Mister Jyo" Byron replied with a kind smile as he quietly closed the door behind him, sword at side, as he walked down the hall....
"Now then...you're wondering what style you use yes? I think you use the art of Destruction really. it is basically using energy to form into bombs, and with it create explosions by desire. Or it could be fire or lighting magic. Your Shield spells might be Creation magic, using energy to transform into physical objects. Regardless, through this fight, i hope to see what they are...."
With that, Byron drew out his blade,a very beautiful and good blade, as he stood in a Wushu martial art fighting stance. The air around him started to fizz, as some students were surprised to see that a teacher was now on the fighting grounds....
"Make the first move, Mister Jyo" Byron said kindly, his glasses shining in the light.

Jyo nodded as he listed. He had the feeling his shield was creation magic. But if his beam was pure destruction magic that ment he had somehow gained a natural knack for switching a spell into another type. He would have to see.
Byron was polite enough to give Jyo the first move. He knew he most likely didn't have any ablities the man didn't know about. But he knew it was the way thos abilities were used that countded. "Very well sir." He said as his left hand grabbed the handle of his weapon. But he had also formed an orb of fire in his right hand and charged it fully. Holding back Against his teacher would be an instant loss most likely.
He lobbed the Fir Orb at the ground in front of his teacher hopeing the explosive force would get him to move. He aimed it so Byron would have to go to his left to avoid it. He then focused on his Hypertime spell to increase his speed twofold and he leapt at his instructor drawing and slashing with his weapon down and to the left as he moved right.

Byron watched carefully as Jyo created his fire bomb thing. It was quite impressive, but Byron had a good idea as to what Jyo's movements were. His opponent here had shot that fire orb in a specific direction, aiming exclusively to his right to make him to go left. Quickly he raised his hand, and made his rebuttal....
He alternated the oxygen density in the air, creating a few micro explosions that were far away from him as oppose to near him, For by alternating the density, he let the bomb go off early....And as Jyo came rushing toward him, he further alternated the air so that a trail would follow toward the student. Of course Byron did really move all of the bomb's explosive power, but still, he made a good deal of it travel from the Bomb to Jyo in the form of a trail of high dense air...... Wit that he moved back, his blade still in hand as a smile came to his face....
"You'll need to be more creative then that my friend" Byron said, a smile escaping his lips

Jyo saw what his teacher had done. It was an impressive move. But Jyo created his shield to stop the explosion and as his slash would be useless he decided to go ahead and show Byron what he wanted to show him. He converted the shield into the forced ram spell and focused a fair amount of energy into this one a a fainter beam then the one he first fired came out at Byron.
Jyo knew he couldn't afford to stop so he rushed right after his attack only a few inches behind it and his blade slashed upwards at his target. He didn't speak right now. Even though it was not rare he didn't often speak during battle. When he slashed he kept the strong of his blade centered and balaenced for a barry. He knew he wouldn't get a riposte in if Byron attacked. But the parry would let him get back and restratigize again.
He knew this was a losing battle on his side. But he wasn't here to win. He was here to learn. He would remember every move Btron made.

Byron quickly raised his blade, barely stopping the blade as it came over to him. Somehow, the Prof had stopped it using only one hand...of course, he was trained to block like this, so why not. Indeed, Byron was impressived with his speed.....but it was slow compared to him and he wanted to see more of Jyo's spells. Sighing a bit, he raised his Palm at Jyo's stomach area, gathering energy and air until, in a blink of a eye, he released it. Quickly a gust of concentrated itself and fired at Jyo. If it hit, the ball of air molecules would quickly expand itself upon it pact....not only hitting on area, but rather everything within a two meter radius of the ball's contact point.....
Raising his blade once more, he gathered energy as the air around him started to move, brushing along his hair as it raised and flew everywhere. One could barely see the air circulating around his body.....spinning rapidly and at a rate so fast it would be insane to try and attack head on unless you have enough confidence to do such a thing.......

Jyo was blasted back and he gave a small grunt. His eyes narrowed not in anger but in concentration as he observed each of his instructor's moves. He landed in a crouch but used the crouch to push off right back at Byron. He knew that even though he was outclassed sitting there waiting was foolish.
He noticed the teacher's new move in the battle. He eastimated what was going on and knew a slash was pointless. He instead attacked with a lunge. But it was a fient. Insted he leaned back after the blade he led would be blocked or parried. And instead lowered the weapon to the left and broght it back up in the actual lunge aiming for the man's shoulder. He didn't want to make a serious wound.
His right hand had his shield spell readied to defend himself as this attack he used made him vulnerable as he was very open to attack right now.
He was chargining the large beam to use on Byron as he fought. it would just take some time. much more then in the beast invasion battle as he was fighting while doing this and not able to just stand and charge the spell

Quickly Byron moved back, the blade piercing his shoulder as pain shot through him. However, he summoned his military training and ignored the pain, and instead prepared to retaliate against Jyo.....
Quickly the air circling around him started to circle around Jyo, spinning quite fast. Now, if Jyo were to be farther, attacking him like this would result with him, probably avoiding his circle of spinning air. However, he was close now, and he was only guarding one part of himself. The circle of air spun around and around, so fast, that the air started to cut. Specifically, Byron made it so that the air would only cut on his back and arms, nothing really vital....
With that, the Professor moved back, his blade up in case Jyo wants to try and continue his attacks.....

Damn so it is a cutting technique. Well then He thought and he moved back seeing the wind went with him. He stuck his blade back in the sheath and then both his hands went to the side as he channeld his shield spell through both hands and pushed out. It was similar to a dome of force spreading from him.
The cutting stopped as he cupped his hands together and his spell was charged. this was it. he would be able to use it. He had to make sure to get the small energy replishing candy Talbot had made for him with her Alchemy as soon as he could after he blasted out with the spell.
He aimed right at Byron and the brilliant white beam came forth from his hands getting gasp from the crowd. the fact he was taking on a teacher made it interesting enough as it was. And even though his instructor wasn't playing around he also wasn't ging full out.
But the beam that shot out was what made them gasp. It flew to Bryon and Jyo could feel his own energy drain going with the blast. He quickly popped the small green treat into his mouth and it restored some of his lost energy. But not much. he would be able to fight like he did before the blast but if he treid to do the attack again he would probably kill himself.
His hand went to the handle of his weapon and he drew it quickly going into the sturdy fencing stance awaiting his teacher's reaction

Quickly Byron smirked as the white light came toward him, seemingly going to blast him to pieces. However, the teacher accelerated the air surrounding him, moving them so that their kinetic energy would make them so hot, that they would be equal to the heat from the blast hopefully. Regardless, he soon placed them around his sword as he charged up, the air vibrating insanely around him. Without another word the teacher cut through the beam with his blade, and not a moment later, he moved toward Jyo, his blade ready...
Quickly he sent it toward Jyo's side, not aiming for any organs but rather just to cut him and such. Furthermore, while he was moving, he was moving a hell lot faster. The wind he generated added to his overall speed, pushing him and giving him quite a speed increase. Anyways, he still had the cutting tornado surrounding himself, so not only did Jyo face the threat of a blade coming at him, but the air moving so around that could deeply cut the kid......

He cut it? Amazing. Jyo thought. He wasn;t surprised but he was in awe. He knew his own powers were not weak. But in comparison..... So now you know one of the levels you still have to reach for He thought seeing Byron come in incredbly fast. Not much more than a blur to him. He saw a glint of steel and he knew he couldn't block with the strength his teacher had.
Instead his blade charged with lightning and he stepped to the side parrying the attack. The conductive metal of his teacher's blade would carry the current unless like some handles it was made of a sturdy wood. He felt the wind spell cut him again and he moved his hand up for his shield spell again. He focused what he had into it and it was a visible shield and though the attack did not bounce back to his teacher there was a noticable reflection. But it also knocked Jyo away who used his levitate spell to land lightly.
He was wearing down. He knew that. he had n't been in a battle like this. but he took a bit of satisfaction in knowing he had scored a hit on Byron. Even if the man was not going all out he had scored a hit. That had made the spectators hush up. But Jyo knew he was close to done.
Byron still had to rush in again. Granted he could do it quickly. Jyo shook his head quickly to reorient himself It's never over until it's over. He told himself and he raised his right hand with fingers spread and palm down. A wave of fire rushed at Byron. the techer would have to be able to teleport to the side to dodge this without jumpung or ducking. The blast of heat could be felt even by the others watching them.

Byron felt the lighting travel down his arm, but soon stopped after a while, being grounded to the Academy's lower level. Quite a smart move really, but now Byron needed to go onto the offensive. Quickly he saw his opponent create a wave of fire heading at him, moving rather fast. However though, Byron quickly altered the oxygen density in the air, forcing the fire to explode away from him. Then, he created a trail of high oxygen to follow back to Jyo...and with it explode in his face.....
Then, drawing up his sword, he sent a flurry of sharp, edgy and bladed wind at him, swinging his blade and with every stroke, a blade of air would fire...the air was swiftly moving so that it could cut and penetrate the skin and clothing...but would create too deep cuts......

Jyo could see his spell backfiring in more then one sense. His raised his right hand creating his barrier. But the first wind attack broke it and the second hit him cutting him. He retreated and sheathed his weapon raising both hands above his head sending dozens of lightning bolts at Byron.
He could feel the cuts from the wind attacks that had caught up with him but pushed the pain out of his mind. It was clear Byron wanted to see what he was capable of and outclassed him on every level. So he would simply put all he had into this until the battle was done.
