Onira walked into the grounds. He scanned the area with his violet orbs, seeing the grounds as mostly an open field with distant walls. There seemed to be many different sections to the training grounds. Some for dummy practice, some for weapons practice, some for reflex training, and of course, ones for battle. The latter was his favorite.
The blond-haired male placed his hand against the ground, creating a stone chair next to him. Portable relaxation. He leaned into it, relaxing and waiting.
"Now for Xeryth."
Onira had met Xeryth before, and the two had become worthy friends. Xeryth was a sort of stuttering, very nervous boy. Sometimes fun to watch, but it was sometimes concerning, because you never knew if he was nervous, shy, or just being himself. Onira was there, not so much to fight Xeryth, but just see what he could do. He knew Xeryth had powerful psychic abilities, but was unsure how far these progressed. From a little earlier, he could see that Xeryth could read minds, psychically punch people in the gut, and throw them around. However, from studying it, he started thinking the psychic abilities, at least for an apprentice, reached only to what he could see. Now of course, testing Xeryth's skills is a bit of a dumb reason, but Onira just wanted to know what he could do if the need for the two to fight arose.
Onira started whistling.

Following the sound of nearby whistling, Xeryth stumbled upon the boy known as Onira. Contrary to Xeryth's existence, Onira was a bright, happy, out-going student, which made it more than amusing to see the two becoming friends at a rather rapid rate. First it was their adventure together with the caravan, then it was the multiple classes they happen to have together, and the visits to the library and training grounds earlier had just about sealed the deal.
Coming up to the boy, Xeryth waved, a little smile on his face. He was starting to lose his stutter around Onira as well, though the boy's exuberant manner was still a bit intimidating to the more withdrawn Xeryth.
"Hey Onira! I can only guess you brought me here for one thing...?"
Xeryth let his question trail off, that same little smile remaining on his face as he walked up to a point about ten feet from Onira. If Onira wanted to spar as Xeryth assumed he did, Xeryth didn't want to start off too closely.

Onira looked to see Xeryth enter. He could see Xeryth was starting to lose his stutter, and apparently his nervousness. He had a smile on, which didn't really suit him for what Onira was used to. It looked sort of foreign to him. Even so, he was glad to see Xeryth up, about, and happy with it.
"Howdy Xeryth!"
Onira's palmed tattoo lit up as he kept it resting on the arm rest. The stone chair automatically shifted to send Onira backwards for a backflip. It seemed he needed more practice at it, for instead of landing on his feet, Onira landed straight on his face. Even so though, he could regain himself. Onira pushed off of the ground, sending him backwards to his feet. However, it seemed he pushed off too hard, for he ultimately went up and straight onto his back. However, Onira could still get some of his dignity back with his next move. His tattoo lit up again and Onira was lifted back up by a sort of lift against his back. Once again he screwed up, for he was completely thrown face-first into the ground.
"Screw it."
Onira simply found his way to his feet normally, looking at Xeryth.
"I take it you've figured out why we're here?"

Xeryth's smiled widened a bit at Onira's attempts to right himself, continuously falling back and forth, either due to over-done acrobatics or over-done alchemy. It was funny, and inside, Xeryth wanted to laugh, but he was still much to shy to let that kind of emotion out of him.
As Onira asked his question, Xeryth nodded, and, for the first time in his life, attempted a verbal joke.
"Well..." he began shakily, worried about comic timing and the like, "unless I'm wrong and we're practicing taking falls.... then yeah, I believe I do. You... you want to spar against me?"

Onira stood there for a minute. The silence was eerie. However, when it came to Onira, silence never lasted for long. He just burst out laughing.
"HAHA! Good on ya Xeryth!"
Onira continued laughing for almost thirty seconds before he finally calmed himself. He then stood up straight and wore a proud face.
"It's good your starting to get this friendship thing. Oh, and by the way..."
Onira fell to one knee, placing his palm against the ground. Instantly the tattoo lit up and a large, hinged arm burst out of the ground. It fell straight to the ground and a flag popped out of it's finger. It said Go!

Xeryth smiled proudly as Onira seemed to appreciate his joke. Before long, however, Onira transmuted a giant arm that shot out a flag, his comical way of signaling the start of the spar. Seeing this, Xeryth simply nodded, his smile washing away to a straight face of determination. What Onira most likely did not know was that in his prior training, Xeryth had been trained entirely for battle, and thus, in a fight he was in his element.
Jumping back, Xeryth immediately focused and kicked off the spar, sending a psychic burst straight for Onira's gut. Onira would be able to see the pulse of psynergy emanating from Xeryth's outstretched fist, and would have just a slight moment to dodge or defend, if he was able to decipher the move quickly enough.

"I guess it's time to start then."
Onira watched Xeryth with interest. He had a pretty good guess of how he would start. He seemed to begin with the psychic hits. It was a safety thing really. He could pretty much fight without having to even move a muscle. Very cool.
"Psychic fists huh?"
Onira- hands still against the ground- raised a four-foot high, wide, and long chunk fo stone infront of himself (using alchemy of course). This was hit by the psychic attack, and although got a nice crack in it, was relatively okay. Onira focused some more alchemic energy into the ground, and four pillars, about seven feet high, two deep, and three wide, burst from the ground. They suddenly shot to try and box in Xeryth. Onira knew that it was quite possible for Xeryth to simply hold one back for a moment with a psychic wall and then move out of the way, but even so, he wanted to test Xeryth's reaction time.
Onira placed a palm against the large block sitting infront of him. The stone lit up, the light soon dissipating to reveal a stone revolver with a large pile of stone bullets below it. Onira had made sure to weken the compact of the bullets so they would mostly break apart on impact. But they would definetely hurt if they hit.

Xeryth's attack was blocked, which didn't phase him much. However, the second part of the attack certainly threw him a bit. When the four columns of stone suddenly rose up to entrap him, Xeryth quickly focused a flat psi-barrier of rather small proportions blocking the progression of the column behind him. It's size kept it intact longer, but it also meant it was having a very hard time keeping it down. Thus, Xeryth had to move, and fast. He quickly hopped up onto the column before dissipating the shield.
The key to this was that, with the back column being blocked, Onira would not be able to see what Xeryth had done. It would seem, at first, that he had succeeded with his plan to trap him within the four. This would most likely come crashing down, however, as Xeryth would suddenly appear atop the fourth column, finally rising up as it intended to without Xeryth's shield pushing it down. Hopping over to the foremost column, Xeryth saw the gun and the large pile of bullets below it. An idea came to him, and, closing his eyes, Xeryth reached out with his mind to the bullet pile. A few flicks of his physical wrists, and the bullets began to fling themselves toward Onira's chest area, at about half the speed they would have gone if Onira had shot them with his gun. It wasn't as painful as the gun would have been, but it would still most likely hurt fairly bad, especially considering the bullets would just keep coming until Onira did something about it, or Xeryth was somehow interrupted.

Onira cocked one eyebrow as he saw Xeryth sort of dissapear. If it were an anime, a question mark probably would have appeared above his head. He couldn't figure it out. He knew Xeryth was better than that. Xeryth was stronger than to be squished by a few collumns. Wasn't he?
Onira turned around and looked at the ground for a second, unsure of what to think. Had he won. No, it couldn't be that easy. Onira turned around again to see if maybe his eyes were just decieving him. Apparently they were, for now he could see Xeryth pretty clearly above the collumns. He gave a grin, that was soon replaced by a sort of cringe.
"Ow! What the..."
Onira looked down to see the pile of bullets being launched at him, and hitting with a hot spark fo pain.
"Ow! Ooh! Ahh!"
Onira continued to get hit. Round after round connected on his chest, and finally on his forehead. Onira was still for a second, the world seeming to stop all movement. It soon came crashing down however, when Onira instantly fell over, his eyes blank. The look couldn't be anymore comical without two large spirals in Onira's eyes. Yup, he was out cold.

"O...Onira?" Xeryth looked down at the boy, who, after taking the first shot from the pile, had just kept taking them, apparently caught by surprise and unable to react in time. Finally, as a last line of defense, the boy's body shut down entirely, or perhaps due to the stray bullet hitting him in the forehead, Xeryth wasn't quite sure. Either way, Onira had dropped stone-cold, no pun intended, and was laying on the dusty ground, unmoving.
"Onira??"
Xeryth hopped down from the column, wincing a little at the shock of landing from such a height. He cautiously made his way over to Onira, peering down at the still figure before him. It was true, Onira had been knocked out from Xeryth's attack, and it seemed that Xeryth had won the battle. His eyes widened, it hadn't taken very long, and he worried about Onira. Kneeling down, Xeryth began to shake him, trying to rouse him back to consciousness.
"Hey Onira, w-wake up! Are you okay?"

Onira's head moved limply as he was shaken. His body was very relaxed, and chances were, if it was any more, he would have uncosciously peed his pants. But, he didn't (luckily). Instead, his eyes slowly opened, and his body shot upwards. He took a quick look around, his eyes darting to every which direction. He wasn't sure what to expect. For a moment, he forgot what he was doing, but remembered from the slight pain that fell across his forehead. The bullet landing.
"Heheh..."
Onira rubbed his forhead slowly for a moment, soon leaping himself back up to his feet. He gave a big, toothy grin to Xeryth and a thumbs up. It fell as he spoke, but he still kept a joyous smile.
"Looks like you won this bout, guy. But next time!"
Onira gave his arm an almost heroic flex, placing his hand on the inside of his upper arm, adding to quite a bit less serious moment.
"Next time I'll get you."
Onira leaped upward, throwing his palm to the ground and his tattoo lighting up. Dust instantly rushed to the air, soon discipating to show Onira was gone. A voice echoed through the room, very obviously Onira's. It was coming through a make-shift speaker.
"Next time."
