"Yeahs it's a nice are to train in. Well there are several other areas. But a nice featurless terrain where we have alot of room to move makes for a much better battle." Corsair said to Erin with a shrug. His voice sounded slightly metallic from his armour wich was odd as his armour didn't seem to be made of metal except in a few spots.
"Anyways. Do you want to set any rules beyond no killing." Corsair asked raising his arms up and his forearm blades extended.

Erin listened to Corsair, but kept walking forward, wanting to give proper space one did for a duel. That was about ten steps away, as it seemed. When he reached the distance, he quickly twisted his body around, giving one final word before he called the name of the samurai.
"Nope."
As soon as he said, he spoke in a whisper the name "Ayakashi", the mask changing instantly to the right form, as well as the sword and Japanese gauntlet forming along his right arm. No word was spoken before the next movement.
He quickly dashed towards the opponent, sending a swift horizontal slash towards the chest area of the armor. It seemed somewhat obvious that this mask was familiar with the movements, his knees slightly bent, and a strange flow to the strike.

"Good" Said Corsair as his forearms and blades suddenly were engulfed in flames. "I've been wanting to test this." He said as Erin or whatever alias he now had came in at him. Corsair sidestepped for the blow but barly managed it. This guys was rather quick. He swung with his left blades to hit the side of the sword being swung at him. And his right blades came in for a glancing slash across Erin's shoulders. The intense heat of the fire would cuaterized any wounds made as long as they were not deep wounds.

(OOC: I don;t suppose you mixed up Horizontal and vertical... meh! It's no big deal)
When the sword was dodged and the opponent side stepped the attack, Ayakashi instantly went into a slightly modified roll, narrowly missing the attack, rotating his body a bit as he did so, going for an upwards strike against Corsair's hip-chest area. If it happened to go through, it wouldn't kill Corsair, but it was possible to cut off his legs. Erin had to ask himself if the doctors at the academy could heal that, hoping with all his might that they could.
Whether or not the attack hit, Ayakashi would still continue with his roll, instantly turning around to see the damage once he rolled to his feet.

OOC: Actually horizontal or vertical a parry to an attack works the same way for both. Trust me I practice with swords on a regular basis with a group of friends. and take a few classes in college.
Corsair lowered his arm letting the blade impact against his own. But his arm was knocked to the side He's about as tough as Vayne. Mabey a bit faster as well. Though Corsair seeing the sword of his foe get a glancing blow on the armour. Corsair was glad it was partially deflected by his block. For the cut was shallow and didn't go all the way through the armour and only splitpart of it. teh armour due to it's magical nature sealed itself.
Corsair leapt back as his foe was getting up and cupped his hands. Wind gatherd from all directions and focused in his hands. Corsair then thrust his hands out palms facing Erin and a fierce wind orb attack was launched at Erin. The damge wouldn't be severe as it was more of a simple ranged attack. But now it moved fast enough it could leave a shallow cut.
Due to damage in armour Corsair's modified endurance is at 15
Used wind orb attack. -1 energy. Flaming fists drain -1 energy every four posts.

(OOC: Logic should have already told me that, I think *wonders how good his logic actually is*)
Although Erin could not hear Ayakashi even think anything about his opponent--as it seemed he was focusing on the enemy itself--he could still guess what it was he would have liked to think. As Erin could see, the opponent was fairly adept with the armor he himself posessed, and was not new to battle. Fair enough. It would be better for Ayakashi if he faced something not quite so easy. Get the rust out of his old spiritual joints.
As the armored Corsair began to gather wind into his hands, the samurai could feel a slight breeze, even from where he stood. It seemed the battle was no longer two warriors in one battle, it was now a samurai versus a sorcerer. It was somewhat symbolic, really. Strength and instinct versus intelligence and cunning. An age old battle, but not one without it's possibilities, as Ayakashi would soon show.
As the wind gathered, the samurai slowly placed himself to his knees, Erin's eyes closed, as one could see behind the mask. Erin knew what this was, however, he didn't like it. The samurai was well adept both in the physical part of the battle as well as the mental war. He already had a focused mind, however, when he was able to close off his somewhat tricky sense of sight, he could focus more on his other sense. Two, most important. Touch, and hearing.
Within his focus, he kept himself focused on the breeze, waiting for the change. Waiting. Waiting. Acting. The second he felt the wind quit it's pull, he rolled to the side, narrowly missing the attack. Now back to his feet, Ayakashi opened his eyes and sped towards Corsair, going for a swift stab to the armored one's stomach.

Hmm he's quick. Tha spell takes almost no time to charge and be released. Means I'm still going melee. Sounds fine to me. Thought Corsair as he brought his left arm blades to meet the incoming blade and once more parry it. But as it was a stab not a slash and well aimed. Corsair was only able to redirect it to a glancing blow to his right shoulder. The hit pierced his armour and hit him but it was little more then a scratch. As before the armour closed but this time it also sealed the wound to prevent infection and further bleeding.
During this time Corsair focused his energies from his speed rune and slashed at the arm holding the blade with a motion that was little more than a blur while the arm was still extended. Unless the guy had speed to match Corsair's rune enhanced speed he'd lose the ability to use that arm for the rest of this fight as Corsair was aiming for the tendons. Take a little damage to be able and cripple thy foe. He thought suddenly realizing his arm was now hanging slack after his counter attack. he had apparently used the last of his right arm's ability to be used in this fight. But as he was primarly left handed this didn't mean much.
Corsair moves 25 percent faster with use of speed rune. Drains 2 energy.

Once again, it seemed the armored Corsair would parry. However, along with that, he increased his speed dramatically, now equal to Ayakashi's own. Fair enough. As Corsair had armor, so did Ayakashi, the man now using it.s effect. It was true that Ayakashi only had the gauntlet, however, given the strike, it would be enough.
Quickly re-directing his momentum backwards by digging his heel into the ground and pulling backwards, his arm was pushed upward by corsair's attack, Ayakashi turning his arm in order for the gauntlet and not his bare arm to be hit. As this happened, he pushed his right leg behind himself in a wide stance, placing himself into the stabbing stance again, the tip of the blade pointing towards Corsair's chest ocne again (think "Rurouni Kenshin"'s Saito's Gatotsu). However, he merely stayed in this position, left leg leading him with right arm in-front of his chest and right leg behind him. Ready for Corsair's next attack. As the past fight had shown him, it would be better to stay somewhat mroe close range, as opposed to the mid-range fighting he was doing earlier. He of course had to judge his opponent's weapon. Less range, but better defensive values. Attack-wise, given that he had less range, he would need Ayakashi to give him an opening by attacking first. It was a stand off indeed.

Corsair landed and though it couldn't be seen he smiled. "Indeed this form you have is a worhty foe." Corsair said with a small chuckle. he saw the stance and could tell it was defensive in nature. And Erin showed no signs of moving. Cute. But I've dealt with this before He thought crossing his arms in an "X" like form in front of him. His defesive options now soared. He could easily match a stand-off

Erin watched on, somewhat amazed that there were people around just a school that could be an opponent for Ayakashi. He guessed, however, that it wasn't particularly hard to think of. After all, Ayakashi was a samurai, however, these people were mages. Practitioners of magic. It would make sense that they would have good skill in what they did.
The samurai stood there, unmoving, for maybe a minute. The stand-off had begun, and as it seemed, it would not end. However, it quickly did. Strangely enough, though, it did not conclude with an attack. Instead, Ayakashi brought his feet back together, now standing straight. He gave a quick bow to his opponent, and upon that note, the mask returned to it's regular Doji form. The sword dissapeared, as did the gauntlet, leaving Erin to be in mid-bow. He stood back up, his familiar mask looking on with it's regular smile, but beneath it, so did Erin smile.
"The Samurai would like me to ask a draw of you. In his wisdom, he has come upon the answer that in the situation of a stand off, the onyl honorable answer would be to call for a draw, and possibly leave the battle to another day."
Erin stopped for a moment, letting the still armored Corsair think abotu it for a moment. Then, he continued.
"What do you say to a draw, sir Corsair?"

So that form was a true Samurai. Knows when the fight must stop. Thought Corsair and thew armour aorund his head vanished but the rest was left on place though his arms went down to his sides and the blades retracted. "Very well a draw it is. Fromour few exchanges I can tell that form knows what he is doing. Your mask form magic is very impressive." He said walking forward and offering his hand. "You are an interesting person and I can see you as a valuable ally. Might I ask you to join me when I search for my runes. I of course would be glad to help you when needed as well." he said

Erin couldn't help but be somewhat surprised at this offer. To help this Corsair person in his quest. Well, it seemed his first day at the academy was becoming quite the impressive one. In pretty much his first hour or so in the new school, and he had become an old man, a samurai, had fought, and had gotten an offer to go on a sort of quest to help out what seemed to be a new friend. Eventful indeed.
Erin gave a quick nod, shaking the armored hand offered by Corsair.
"I would be quite happy indeed to help one with his search. I shall be there when you need."
Erin let his grip go after that, bowing once more before turning around and leaving the training grounds. He was thinking of maybe having a nap or so. Or maybe even let Warai-jyo out again. Either way, the day would be good, and he would wait.
Erin gave one more wave as he walked away, giving a final three words before he went back into the school.
"See ya 'round!"
