Darian stood in the practice ground for a moment wearing his lightened arsenal. He had grown considerably since he first came here most of his guns under lock and key now as he had made his arsenal lighter and more deadly. He had two blades now but, only had one in his hand. La Lame de Danse du Dumonte. A legendary rapier said only to be able to be wielded by blue-bloods for the nobility training required. Not only the grace to wield it but, also the honor and percision that was associated with the rapier. It was a light and fast-paced weapon that Darian now had as his main melee weapon. He adjusted his grip on the blade for a moment and whistled past someone's defense. The problem for the opponent was that Darian was not only fast but, the heavy blade made his strikes strong.
A quick ripotse disarmed the opponent and Darian layed the flat of the humming rapier on the man's shoulder and gave a small smile. It was a small and friendly smile that was often associated with the Gun Mage when his temper wasn't guiding his actions. Darian despite only being a spellcaster was one of the most powerful mages in the academy. Far beyond the advancement of normal students some ruined him to be as powerful as the battle-sorcerer Jyo or the Student Teacher Junpei. Yet both of them were utilarian mages that relied on abilities from all over the board. Darian's was much more effective in using the straight-forward Gun Mage style that has seen him through countless fights. A clang and a steely hiss was heard nearby.
"Perhaps another time Dumonte you're too quick with that blade of yours," the man said with a smile and Darian chrottled.
"I use guns over melee so I focused on speed over raw strength this is indeed a different feel for me," Darian said with a smile as the man walked off and Darian hefted Godfried's Rapier again. Godfried had been a good man and Darian would use the blade well as he twisted his grip in it lightly.

"Such a funny man with a funny sword."
Varys spoke as he stepped into the practice ground from behind the rapier wielding man. He entered with enough time to see the disarm and final move. Of course if it had been a real fight the man's head would have been lopped off. Atleast it was hoped.
"But I wonder, could he disarm a weapon that was very much attached to an arm. No, I do not think so in the least."
There was a small vicious tint in Varys' voice. Almost a challenge, but more a challenge with some information being held back. A hidden ace almost that wasn't show on the surface. Of course the man could very well have heard of his abilities, but it seemed doubtful. Afterall, it was a very large school and the man could have no clue.
"Does he wish to find out? We should wish to try."

Darian paused for a moment as he turned his attention behind him and saw Varys. Oh yes he had heard of the Dementia Mage and there was no doubt in his mind that Varys would provide a fight that would leave Darian sweating. He reversed the blade for a moment the shimmering tip pointing at the ground. So this was him? The rumors that followed him were much more sinister then meeting him in person. In some ways Darian was almost dissapointed by the man but, he knew there were more to meets the eyes. However, in close-combat Darian needed a new weapon as he gazed at his arm gaurd for a moment. He drew a Glock from a pouch and shifted his attention. Quickly he drew an alchemic circle with chalk he had and activated it merging the gun into the gaurd. To create an all new weapon.
((OOC: Gun Gauntlet - This is a special alchemy created weapon merging togeather an arm gaurd and a gun into one specific weapon. The gauntlet is a fully plated gaurd that is worn on either arm currently being used on Darian's right arm. Special barrels are worked into the knuckles and the weapon uses standard twenty-round clips associated with Glocks. The knuckles are plated and can do some serious damage in a fist strike if wielded properly.))
Darian experimented by shifting and testing the response on the Gauntlet as he gave a small smile at Varys for a moment and flicked the sword to where the point touched the ground. He looked at Varys and gave a smile.
"Care to test your theory?"

Varys eyed the man as he began doing something with his armor. Drawing? This certainly wasn't the time to add some random doodles to your armor, then there was a gun involved and finally a small deal of lights and sounds. When all was said and done it seemed he had somehow shoved the gun into the gauntlet to make them become one.
There was a moment of curiosity. It was an odd looking thing, did it work? How did it work? Would he use live rounds? There were rather good healers on hand in the training grounds, but a bullet to the head could be a bullet to the head. The man would prod back now.
Varys would sneer. the man didn't know what he was getting into. He had probably only heard about the largest of his Nightmares. While that one was certainly frightning and useful for a good many purposes, it wouldn't be called now. His first would find his way. His Schrägstrich.
"We try...we just need to get one forward..."
Varys sighed, closing his eyes for a moment in memory before they shot open again. He remember the death of Fierasche and the eyes turned into a charcoal. Soon the discoloration spread from the eyes outward, skin looking like it was almost being burned by an invisible flame. Turning the dark blue that was required by the beast. Hair fell away as the long thick strands of hair pushed outwards from his skull. it wasn't long before there was a horrendous cracking. His jaw breaking and re-arranging. Varys let out a scream of agony then, his voice changing mid cry to a hoarse clicking sound. The transformation traveled downwards, his arms extending and elongating gotesquely into boney claws, his legs slowly growing together and losing any sort of bone matter all together, the somewhat soft flexible tail of the creature writhing as the transformation came to a close.
The creature spoke in it's odd lclicking voice, hoarse and vicious as it swayed slightly on itself.
"This one will try...This one will test..."

We? He frowned softly for a moment. A multiple personality? Consciousness? He shook his head for a moment as he saw Varys was definantely one who Darian was ready to combat if it was necessary as he shifted himself carefully for a moment and assumed a combative stance. The rapier slowly humming as he shifted his stance for a moment assuming his readiness as he watched and in that moment he was tested. He was tested to see just how far his nightmares could drag him down. So it was true. He didn't just transformed he turned into a creature so horrible that it left people terrified. Fear. A powerful weapon. The back of his neck stood up on end as Darian shifted himself some more. He was ready to take on the unknown because he had seen worst.
The Butcher Master's class still followed him. Still reminded him of who he killed...
And damn it all if it wasn't that steeling that kept his hands still as he waited for the attack of the slug-like beast with those wicked blades.

Like a serpent the beast swayed from side to side, the toothless maw opening to show the two seperate and unconnected lower jaw pieces seperate. There was a long hiss accompanied by a click. It swayed hard to the right, the long clawed arms standing at the ready.
The left claw struck out at the rapier, wanting it to be knocked towards the man. It could only hinder his use of the gun gauntlet, atleast that was the hope as the right claw lashed out in a quick swipe at the man's side. It wouldn't be an excessively deep cut, perhaps enough to warn the man. The sliding body would follow through the swipe, moving off to the man's left.
Schrägstrich would prefer his tail not cut off after all.

Darian however, was quite quick himself having his own speed and more importantly he had strength in his blows. The light blow from nightmarish creature's first attack was blocked by his rapier in a hard parry Darian sliding it carefully the long blade catching the other claw. With one arm he had blocked both attacks and he was carefully starting to push them back. A testament to the upper body strength that Darian had on his person.
"You're pretty quick," Darian said with gritted teeth as his eyes narrowed and studied the creature. Still that meant the creature was open to attack and Darian used his first move expelling energy to activate Hunter's Mark he leveled his gauntlet and fired a stattaco fire of four bullets straight at the creature's LOWER body in hopes of having a higher hit rate. The shells were rubber at least the first twelve anyways. Sort of warning padding that Darian wasn't to be trifeled with.

The Nightmare screetched at the harsh parry. It wasn't a weak creature to be sure, but it didn't have anymore strength than it's owner. Such a thing that could possibly prove to be a downfall in this match. Schrägstrich had the split second before the shots were fired to notice the angle of the gun barrel. He was aiming for his base at that angle?
The slug body did a simple motion to avoid the last three shots, the first slapping harshly into his delicate body before he could truely move. He wasn't that fast after all. Schrägstrich reared up on his lower half, standing temporarily on his tail while the rubber bullets dug into the ground. It was enough to prevent most of the damage but now he had to strike back.
The Nightmare couldn't stand on it's tail for any extended period of time and as it began drawing itself back down towards Darian. The left claw stabbing downwards at the man. Over all it would be an awkward parry if he stayed in his current position, no one was ever trained to deflect stabs from above.
Anticipating the movement backwards Schrägstrich would eventually come to lie straight on his belly afterr striking at his opponent, so even after he had possibly moved away the Nightmare would be able to strike at his feet with this right claw as he rolled on the ground to the right to gain more distance and draw himself back up to his normal "standing" position.

Darian saw that his opponent's body would prove to be the problem in this duel as he ducked quickly to the side to avoid the deadly strike from above. Darian's own blade slammed down hard on the back of the creature's blade the strength of his blow might pop the arm of the creature out of place. Or so he hoped. It was a surface cut and very shallow but, it would be extremely painful should it dirty the wound any providing that the strike of course was successful. Darian shifted for a moment having this flank view presented more of a target for him to work with. Darian activated his Homing Shot spell and sent another scattaco burst of shells the shells this time adjusting to the creature's movement as they hummed in to strike the side.
Darian had been tripped by the long claw and he had fallen backwards. Carefully he scrambled himself up and he studied his opponent for a moment as he flicked his rapier carefully weaving it in front of him dangerously. He'd have to see how his opponent would attack it wouldn't be wise to charge right in.
