Rui stood on the training grounds once more his technique being employed. So far he had only had to use four of his abilities leaving a repitoire at his disposal that people did not know about. Whispers had been going around the academy of a master of the element of water being in this place. That was the only way to categorize him for Rui's harmony with energies and the elements was clearly seen. He didn't just call upon the strength of the elements, no, he was one with them. It was the difference between Rui and other spellcasters. He was able to employ the element of water in ways that were not thought of before. He shifted his feet for a single moment as he stood on the surface of water. This training ground different. In a way at least.
Rui had chosen this field because it was an open field without terrain in the way meaning that people would truly have to rely on their strength to carry them through. The pond that he stood on had some depth but, he was not in the center of it yet. Rui typically never moved when he engaged in combat citing to the faith he had in his ability. A true spellcaster of the combat variety should not have to move to win a battle. Rui knew that the day would come when he would indeed have to move around but, so far he had not come across that moment. His feet shifted for a moment as two users who used throwing weapons launched a variety of needles and shuriken at him. Rui's hand made a lashing motion that was upwards and the water in front of his feet suddenly rose and deflected the weapons.
By fairness Rui always pushed them back in the direction of the shore for when they wanted to retrieve them but, one of them finally called for a pause.
"It is clear that you can hold your ground in combat without resorting to weapons. We apologize," the first spoke.
Rui gave a bow as more water began to turn into a misting steam that had no heat.
"I thank you," he spoke softly. "You both gave me much worry and were it not for Saeri coming up with sudden defenses I might have had some serious injury," the two men bowed and left as Rui stood on the surface of th water putting his arms in his sleeves and waiting. Elegant white hair fell down past his shoulders a few strands in the way of his face. He wasn't even damp he was completely dry.
