A little while before dawn arrived over the acadamey Tas was already up and about. Her morning rituals were complete and she'd had a nice breakfast (though she was a terrible cook), so the morning found her in one of the open-air areas next to the dormatories, briefly puzzling about how to avoid being late since she'd delayed to eat. The morning was not starting off well, the sky was overcast and threatening rain, a fairly unusual occurance at the acadamey. Not that that really bothered her, she would go out for the same reason she'd risen at this time. To avoid a certain someone (Tristan!) from giving her a rude wakeup call for being late. She grunts sourly to herself as she looks at the clouds a moment longer before shifting to her armour form. Now that she could survive the fast trip she floats up above that section of the acadamey, getting a clear line of flight to where she needed to go. A light humming fills the air as her boost spell gatheres power, and then the floating hulk effectively vanishes... flashing away towards her destination.
Shortly afterwards she arrives just above the field she and Tristan 'trained' in. Another boost spellcorrects her movement to prevent an overshoot (and some earthmoving too) and she drops to the ground beneath one of the trees, changing back to her human form as she does. A quick glance around tells her that Trisan wasn't there yet, something that her watch confirms... she was a little early. So Tas settles cross-legged and calls up her practice magic, planning to do some productive tinkering with her spells until he showed up. After the fiasco yesterday, she'd had a few ideas in that area...

The pillar of a man was slowly making his way down the sidewalk in a rediculously uncharacteristic pace that would likely make any one who knew him make a double take. He was looking at the ground as he trudged on, his hair covering his face. High over head, Tas was blasting along, but Tristan ignored her entirely. That super human mind of his was dwelling on a job that the Oracle, Amilith Tyrn, had given him.
Tristan was to depart for Russia today on an assignment to retrieve some scrying runes from a host of vampires, and in return for doing so, he would get the answer to a question. The problem that was now plaguing Tristan's mind, was what to ask once the job was done. What did Tristan want bad enough that wouldn't waste an opportunity like this. In truth, he was a fairly simple man when it came to what he wanted. The Crusnik in actuality, wanted nothing of consequence. A couple of upgrades to his weapons, certain enchantments that would give him a vast advantage in battle, especially against close range fighters.
But all that he knew how to get....What did he want that he would need an oracle to help him attain?
About an hour later, Tristan showed up more than late to his own engagement with his 'student', still in that sort of slump with a blank stare on his face. He didn't even see Tas until Igneus perked up from his perch on the hunters shoulder to project, Umm...Genius...She's right there. And Tristan finally looked up, stopping. The gaze in his eyes was still hollow and his expression blank, and would likely remain that way until Tas said something and he was fully snapped out of his mind.

Tas flicked a glance at them from where she was slumped against the tree, having long since abandoned her cross-legged posture. There were now three collections of circlets shimmering in the air around her as she'd gone on from tweaking to working on a new spell during her wait. And she was also understandably annoyed at their tardiness after what they'd done yesterday morning.
"Nice of you to show Tristan, Igneus." is her frosty greeting, though from her tone she doesn't really blame the dragon for the situation. A few more runes spark home in her arrangement before she looks at them again, doing a quick double-take as she notices the expression on the hunter's face. With a grunt she gets up, dismissing the floating arrangements with a casual flick of her hand and pinning the little dragon with her gaze. "Hey Igneus... what's the matter with him?" she asks, a note of concern giving her away. To see the great, confident, arrogant Trisan with such a hollow expression told her something unusual was afoot.

Tristan's eyes snapped from blankness to zeroing in on Tas and his expression hardened right back up from its slumped thought ridden position. "Nothing, theres just something I've been thinking about after yesterday." It would seem as though he was talking about the fight, and rightly so, but he wasn't. Normally, he might, but after meeting that Amilith, and being destined to annihilate an un known number of vampires in a few hours, he was only thinking about what the Oracle might be able to offer Tristan in return for getting those runes.
"I'm gonna take it easy today. After yesterday's demolition you could use a break, not to mention you'll never get any better if I demolish you before you get the chance to attack." He said in his usual tone, only there was still the slightest flicker of thought in his voice and eyes. Igneus flew off to go mull about what ever it was he did while the two fought, which was never any thing much, usually he just slept lightly. Lightly so that he could avoid any thing that Tristan might use to annihilate the entire area, though with that declaration, he could snooze soundly if he liked.
Tristan took a light stance before shooting off at about three fourths his normal top speed. He'd gotten a little faster, but with him going at the speed he was, it wouldn't look like much. Even if he went top speed the difference wouldn't be evident. His mind returned to thoughts of what he could possibly desire and his first punch was hollow and rather weak. It was a little under half powered, though it was thrown at about the same speed he was moving, three fourths max.
The strike was a simple right jab that stayed in place as he stood in a right front leaning stance. He wasn't just going easy, other wise he might not have, he was distracted by his thoughts. All he could hope was that these thoughts didn't plague him while he was on his little quest later.

His speed was still greater than was Tas could use, but since he had a little run-up as well she saw it coming. Not bothering with Layer she instead opts to use Runes, with the speed rune to get her reaction time down. She swings her left arm in front of her as fast as she could, slaming it into his forearm, and side-stepping the opposite way at the same time to result in the blow missing. Though only just. Taking another step away she aims a punch at his face, but then stops when she notices he's not followed through as she'd thought he would. There is a momentary pause as she looks at him before slowly shaking her head.
She growls softly in her throat, the control rune in her hand switching as she waved it at him. Since it was now a water rune the magic calls some into existance, sending roughly a pint of it at Tristan's face. "C'mon Tristan, this isn't like you!" she snaps at him, knowing that if he was this distracted it was quite pointless having a training fight.

Tristan's eyes were still active. As such he saw all of Tas' moves clearly and simply dodged his head lazily to the side. His torso followed his heads movement and his body moved to the left and to the ground. As a fighters instinct, Tristan's hands met the ground and the rest of his body followed. As Tas' words left her mouth, it would be met by the hunter's left heel. Being based on instinct rather than conscious decision, this attack had more of a punch than the initial strike. In fact it packed quite a bit more power behind it.
Shireiutz threatened to fall from its holster as Tristan's seemingly semi conscious body spun around and completed its cartwheel. His body straightened up and stepped back with the left foot, leaving the hunter in a light Doko no Kumae, a stance which was exactly like his basic Katate Ichi Monji no Kumae, only the hand that was over the heart, in this case the left, was now at the jaw, and in a fist.
The stance was loose and lax how ever, and lacked the sharp conciseness of Tristan's usual movements which packed so much power. This move, like the last one, was simple enough in that it had no follow up, it was simply the move and left the hunter standing there, his face in the same condition throughout the entire process. The entire thing was still as blank as if he were dead and rigor had worn off, minus of course the glaze in his eyes. Being that he was now fighting, his eyes were still working just fine and not blank like they'd been on the trudge over.

The slam to her face was enough to knock Tas over backwards, sending her tumbling a little way. She hadn't been expecting a response quite like that, she'd certainly be more careful. First things first though, get up off the ground.
"Ooookay. Hrm. Ow." she grumbles to herself as she quickly picks herself up, ignoring blood trickling from a bitten lip. The kick was going to leave her with a nasty bruise... so much for him being unable to fight. In an attempt to stall for time, Tas whips out her gun in her free hand and fires four shots in his direction, re-choosing the speed rune as she did so.

Tristan's eyes pick up on the gun and his body moves as the trigger is pulled. He's now moving at top speed on reaction and is on top of Tas, once again, in an instant. His mind is still fluttering on the thoughts of what he's going to do that day. His right hand reaches the ground and Shireiutz begins digging a groove in the dirt as Tristan's left foot swings around aiming for Tas' ankles. It's a powerful sweep with more than enough speed to totally flip Tas around.
Fortunately or unfortunately enough for Tas, it lacked the power to do such, granted, not by much, but it wouldn't put her past her head. Fortunately because it would hurt landing on your face, unfortunately because she'd likely land on her neck. Before she would land, Tristan's sword would fully pass under her and the hunter would be fully on his feet. This would be the point where she'd not want to be facing the ground because the hunters left foot had risen high off of the ground as he spun around.
Like an executioners blade, Tristan's left foot would swing down with devistating power and speed and slam into Tas' stomach, or back if she had been totally flipped, and smash her into the ground with rib shattering force. Once Tristan's foot was planted his instinct had him push back even more, throwing damn near, if not over, two hundred and fifty pounds back in a neat flip that ended up a couple of yards away.
His stance was once again a loose Doko no Kumae, only this time his left limbs were forward.

Since Tristan was moving at full speed, Tas didn't really stand a chance. There was barely enough time for her to notice the movement before her feet were abruptly kicked out from under her. Almost instinctively she snaps up her Layer spell, probably something she should have done earlier... and was most fortunate now, since she suddenly landed roughly on her front only to be immediately be subjected to a heavy blow to her back. Her layer spell absorbed part of the impact, so rather than being rib-shattering it was survivable. With only a sharp pain in her side beneath his heel telling her that he had, in fact, broken a rib or two with the move. She curses rather loudly as, immediately after this, he pushes against the injury to jump back away from her.
Tas wastes no time in getting up off the ground again, favouring her injured left side. She favours Tristan with a scowl as the circlet for her shield briefly appears again... the flickering field around her seeming to become more solid. Her right hand, still with her Runes spell, comes up and is suddenly clutching a smallish fireball pointing in his direction. The forge spell appears around it and the fire flickers, gaining in intensity and glowing brighter. While this is going on something else happens. Tas uses a new trick and creates a second runes spell on her left hand, with a different rune controlling it. The bruising on her face quickly fades, showing this to be healing magic of a sort, though her pained breathing shows it to have definite limits.
After a build-up of about 1.7 seconds Tas would release the charged fireball, flinging it rapidly at Tristan. It's a pity that in the heat of the moment she'd forgotten he tended to use fire magic.

Tristan's body doesn't move as his eyes scan over the fire ball. It was nothing more than an illumination to the hunter as he'd inherited the natural element of fire. As such, he was entirely immune to flames of almost any degree and proportion. He could even brave lava, which, for all he knew, he might have to sometime soon. Momentarily the fire ball struck and simply blasted past its target.
Being in the state he was, Tristan's body was shifted slightly, but the ball wasn't big enough to really move his mass other that what it did to his lax posture. The reaction to this, was a fire ball in return. His bearded maw dropped open and a rather large ball of yellow and red flame, about four feet in diameter, shot out at speeds to rival its originators. The reason there were red flames in this attack, was because the rain was still coming down, albeit lightly, but there was still rain, and it flickered out some of energy behind the blast.
One, if one knew Tristan, might say that his behavior was due to the rain, as, being primarily of the flame persuasion, he had a slight weakness to water. But if one really knew Tristan, they'd know that was utter bullshit since this old bastard was worlds tougher than that. Tristan didn't move from his spot and simply closed his mouth on reflex, he was still apathetic toward the situation being in the state of mind that he was.

On reflection the fireball's lack of effect was no suprise. But then, Tas didn't have time for such thoughts as she was promptly engulfed by his return shot... if it wasn't for her Layer spell she'd have suffered severe burns, instead of being singed a bit. 'So much power for an automatic response' she thinks, a little dismayed. Then she blinks, remembering something she'd figured out earler. If it worked right, it'd be great... if not she'd spray mud again. But still, with two Runes spells and her Focus spell, she might be able to actually control them, and maybe drain him a bit.
The circlets of her Focus spell appear, pointing at Tristan, and she positions one hand to either side of them. The two runes controlling the twinned Runes spells flicker and chance... her right hand is suddenly engulfed by a flare of light, almost blinding to look at directly. Her left, however, gets the opposite of this, clasping an orb of impenetrable darkness. By themselves they didn't amount to much, but in their proximity to the Focus circlets they were blinding it to the true ambient, like a man caught in a spotlight can't see past it. They were substituting their own ambients to the spell.
The circlets of her focus spell flicker between these two counterpoints and become an almost ghostly grey colour. "Ok hotshot... Void Blast, just for you." she comments grimly as the spell activates, its area of effect balooning out at Tristan. Void Blast was not an expecially accurate name. The effect was really like an anti-energy field, depleting all energy caught in it. Magical reserves, chakra, batteries, heat... all energy is vulnerable. Even moving through it is hard, like trying to run underwater.

Tristan's eyes fully snap to attention now as the prospect of this attack is analyzed in his mind. The words 'void blast' had wrought his mind back to current place and time. He knew what a void type attack meant. He'd come across anti-magic fields before, part of the reason he was so physically proficient in couple with his advanced degree of magic. That massive inhuman body of his snapped to its usual flare and he shot back in a single bounding leap that kept him away from the ever growing gray field.
"Only one shot." He said, his hands whipping into his coat and slinging out his hand guns which spun forward, seemingly of their own accord, before stopping. In the left was Ivory, the white and silver gun. In the right was Ebony, black and brown. "Chaos blast." Tristan said, his elements charging correspondingly into each gun. Large orbs of white and black shone at the barrels of each gun as said, correspondingly. The balls grew bigger and were soon letting loose what seemed like white and black electrical charges.
Arms becoming blurs, Four opposing blasts rang out in the cardinal directions from each gun. The ensuing prospect were unstable balls of opposing energy surrounding the field A fifth twin shot rang out with Tristan an instant from touching the ground and two massive beams of holy and darkness energy blasted forth, swirling around eachother. The beams fully met the instant they touched the threshold of the growing feild and all ten shots exploded with a chaotic reaction to rival a dozen kamataichi's, only now they were a nutral element. Light and Dark annihilated one another creating pure element to destabilize and destroy the void field.
By principle, the chaos blast worked the same as this void, only the end result was different. Light and dark the way Tristan did it, simple canceled eachother out in the same way that a cross burns a demon or a vampire, or the way a demon and an angel would both burn if they touched one another. What results from that cancelation is a blast to rival anti-matter, only on a much less severe scale. With enough energy, a chaotic blast like that could destabilize a black hole and cause it to reach critical mass on pure energy alone.

Under most circumstances a collision of this sort would have resulted in a total nullification... two forces, each formed from the same basic attributes for essentially opposite results. That was not the case here, however. Tristan's chaos blast, now in the area of the void, was releasing a colossal amount of energy to feed its hunger. If this were a more even match the void could have taken it all, but this was not the case. The void blast was not only weaker than the chaos blast, having been created by less energy, but it was also somewhat limited in its absorbtion rate, leaving an excess to hunt for the weakpoints of the void.
It found this in the form of the circlets Tas was using, rapidly disrupting the patterns she'd forged into them and spinning them out of her control. She flung herself backwards as this happened, nearly getting caught as the circlets exploded and ended the void spell. Stumbling slightly after her haste, Tas draws herself upright and gazes at him. Somehow she's still folding the two spheres of darkness and light she'd used... then she gives him a small smile. "Nice." she grudgingly admits. "Didn't think you'd counter it quite like that." Then, with no other immediate use for them, she flings the two balls of opposing energy at him. They'd served their purpose.

Tristan's final blast had send him screaming along the ground, mere millimeters from the grass. Eventually coming to a halt, Tristan could now easily see Tas' moves before they had a chance of reaching their target. He was well over a hundred yards away, but his insanely acute ears picked up what she'd said. They also picked up on something being thrown...only it was more a take off then a toss. His hands spun around, putting ebony on his left, and ivory on his right, and once again, twin beams of opposing energy shot out from the barrels of the guns, only this time they were pathetically weak compared to the other ones.
This was the most power he'd ever pumped through his guns at one time, and they were beginning to show it. Steam rose off of each gun in a manner indicative of what one might expect off of an overloaded beam rifle. The two small beams of energy with bullets at their head collided with the energy balls, creating two more small reactionary explosions that were barely a fiftieth of the size or power of the previous blast, though they did leave behind a nice smoke screen to add to the already massive cloud of dust. Tristan's hands whipped into his coat and returned his hand guns to their holsters.
In the mean time, the hunter himself had been snapped back into the present and was about to go on his original degree of ease. That of course was near full power without any spell enhancements. A blast of speed had Tristan high in the air, heading dead for Tas, head first. Once in range, his body flipped over and his right heel would comedown on her head. If it worked, like the axe kick onto the back, he would kick back and off with a tidy back flip. If he missed, he'd just do it off of the ground. It was nice having simple contingencies like that....
