Something told Tristan this was going to be an interesting day. The sheer fact that he was up for his Rank exams relatively soon had him relatively excited, but on top of that, he and Igneus both felt something coming...something big. Not in the physical sense, or the amount of power this thing had...but definitely important. There was an insane sense of encroachment in the air, whether any one els could feel it or not. From the moment he woke up several hours ago, right up until this point, the feeling had been pushing at his core. Tugging, shoving, pressing to the point of almost agony. It screamed 'I'M RIGHT HERE!!' begging to be figured out. And despite Tristan's vast knowledge, he couldn't figure out what the hell it was.
Trying to push the feeling aside, he was currently bolting toward the training grounds along side Igneus who had forgone sitting on Tristan's shoulder and was now doing some acrobatics that most birds couldn't pull off. The feeling was causing such anxiety in the pair that even the usually apathetic dragon was going nuts. When ever any thing was in his way, Tristan lept, high and hard, soaring far and fast, Igneus keeping up fairly easily, though having to forgo tricks for flat out speed, which still helped burn of the feeling since he usually didn't fly as fast as he could. Soon, the pair had zoomed over the threshold into the Training Grounds and their elated state peaked.
A loud bang and a roar emanated, causing most in the area to stumble and trip over themselves while in mid combat. Igneus bursted out of the ensuing burst of smoke as a seventeen foot long monster, shooting out a jet of flame that erupted onto a boulder, causing it to crack and the top portion to be blasted off. Tristan kicked off the ground once more, going for distance now as well as angling himself slightly to the right. "Ikuze!" He shouted, throwing off his coat and holster, having drawn his sword. Igneus let out another roar to make a lions seem as the squeak of a field mouse and picked up speed the instant Tristan landed on his back.
Shireiutz shined brightly in the early afternoon sun that was coming upon overhead. Briefly, it became a mirror as Tristan spun it around into a prone position, his hair blowing wildly with the speed. They were headed straight for the forest, a ways back from the entrance, at insane speeds that vastly surpassed any thing a human could pull off. Even most raptors would be hard pressed to keep up with the five ton mass of dragonic flesh at the moment.
Tristan's mana activated and his 'wall walking' ability kicked in, gluing him to his partners back. They both had the same exact thing in mind, which wasn't that hard given their connection. Both roared as though one and Igneus' wings shifted, throwing him into a death roll. Before either wing touched the ground, seeing as they were only around eight feet from the ground, those huge wings were tucked in and the pair swirled into the trees at blinding speeds. The part diamond blade flashed around and could be seen glinting even more than Igneus' scales.
Only Tristan and Igneus knew what was going on, any one els would be deathly hard pressed to see what was happening. Momentarily, the pair could be seen soaring sky ward, well from within the forest. A blast of flame emanated from the front of the blur of black and silver and the huge dragon, who was only at a quarter of his true size, doubled back, having gone upside down once again then flipped around so that he was once more vertical and Tristan had no more need to hold on with mana. One more roar boomed out across the training grounds, and the moment it did so, ones eyes were forced to tear away from the airborne sight as huge crashes could be heard coming from the forest.
Once ones eyes focused on the forest, you'd no longer see the forest for the trees as they stood where Igneus had zoomed in. Instead, one saw dozens of trees laid out for several hundred feet. If one could even see that far past the huge cloud of smoke that had been dredged up by the collapse. Following that display of terrific force, a loud crack could be heard coming from none too far from where Tristan had dropped his coat and holster for the source of the latest racket. That source was none other than Tristan's blade, having been hurled at the ground with inhuman speed and accuracy, splitting a rather large boulder in two, and being buried half way into the dirt.
From high above, Tristan could be seen diving off of his steeds back in an insane motion that had his body spinning and rotating in all manners of directions. He'd spun himself off while launching backward, making a rapid spin and flipping motion that could be easily seen from all angles since Tristan's body was being held in a tight cross like position, his legs tightly together, his arms held out to the sides. Yet another booming roar emanated from above and ones eyes would be forced back to Igneus who was performing a similar move, only he'd flipped only once, backward into a dive, though he was spinning in that intense deathroll, just as before, this time with his wings extended, aiding in its speed.
Igneus zoomed past Tristan in their excessive display of skill and power. The deathroll stopped at the last possible moment and in the same manner, Igneus pulled up, his underside almost touching the grass of the grounds before he was aimed skyward once more, this time to whirl around, tuck in his wings and land with a massive crash that put four deep impressions in the ground. At the same time, the hunter had landed...or had he? Tristan's left foot met the pommel of his blade for a split second before he was back in the air and his sword was forced further into the dirt to the point where one could just see the lowest part of the blade poking out of the top of the split boulder before you hit the Tsuba.
Soon, flames appeared around Tristan's body and in a vibrant display, he became a human torch, throwing thin streams of blazing red and orange all around his body before he hit the ground and his left hand blasted out behind him where it gripped Shireiutz and liberated it from the ground. As he did so, the streams of fire whirled away from the rest of his body and correlated onto his left arm, zooming down to the blade of his sword where they took up residence as it was removed from the ground. More lightning quick movements and it was in the air, only, so was Tristan's coat, which still had his sword holster slung over it. The sword swirled and sun in a fiery glory as the coat fell down lightly to an awaiting Crusnik.
It fell right onto his arms after a slight posture adjustment and as the tail end settled, Tristan's sword descended, which he caught by the handle and whipped around once more. He disengaged the mana moments after he caught it, but the way he was moving it made it seem as though when he whipped it back into its holster over his left shoulder, that the flames extinguished as the blade vanished beneath the large mans left shoulder. The wind blowing, Tristan took in a deep breath, and exhaled it after a moment, and just as quickly as it had begun, his display was over, and Igneus had sat down, letting his wings be loose by his sides instead of tightly clamped against them, and his head high in the air, well above what most people could reach, looking toward the ground infront of him.
