It was three days after the Beast battle where Jyo and several other students made heroic attempts to defeat their foes and had succeeded. Ember he returned to Jyo and went back inside him before anyone else could notice. And Jyo himself had been picked up and brought to the recovery wing to get healed up and have his mana recover from his blast against the jackel.
He woke slowly and painfully sat up in his bed. His clothing was folded on a chair next to the bed and he was in hospital like clothing. "Ohhhh. Man what a headache. Well if I am here I guess we've won." he muttered

Yukiko slowly opened her eyes as she glanced around, though barely moving her body. It wasn't hurting, just her left arm, which had been cut badly by the Jackal's fierce slash with the sickle at a close distance. She winced at the pain when she tried to move the arm, and quickly allowed it to settle back down. She supposed she'll have to let it heal and not move it for a few days until the wound closes up.
Sighing mentally, she can't say she enjoyed the battle, but she was indeed glad that it was over, and that the majority of the students were safe. She stayed lying on the bed, her long white hair spread out underneath her body while random strands lay around loosely.
Her bed was a few beds away from Jyo's. She turned her head slightly as she studied the students in the recovery wing. Most she remembered seeing during the battle, yet she does not know them. Can't say it matters to her though. Most of them were asleep anyway, except for one. Either way, she'll probably be able to leave soon, as soon as the medical staff say so of course, but she's assuming that it's just her arm, that she can probably leave and take care of herself as long as she doesn't do anything stupid thta will affect her injured arm.
And so, she waited until she can leave, her eyes opened, revealing dull emotionless blue orbs, her facial expression empty as usual, and stared up at the ceiling.

"Hey, ice princess, other way." came the voice of Joseph indian style on a bed in the opposite direction Yukiko had looked. When she looked the gunmage smiled down to her. "Sorry about that wound on your arm. I would have backed you up sooner, but I wasn't really sure I could see through my tech spirit. Thankfully I did before it was too late. So, how're you feeling? You used up a lot of energy in the fight." he asked in a friendly tone. Though he wished he knew where Talbot was resting (probably in another ward since he couldn't find her), so he couled be by her side, but at least seeing his comrade in arms gave him solace.

The young mage shifted her head as she now glanced at Joseph. She said nothing before she returned her attention back to the ceiling, staring upwards emptily. She paused before answering, her tone of voice quiet and low as usual.
"I'm fine." she said slowly, short and simple. Personally, she just didn't really know what else was needed to say. Of course, for others, they can probably say a lot, but for one such as Yukiko, that's a totally different issue.
At any rate, she let out a quiet sigh, almost too quiet to be heard as she moved a strand of hair away from her face. She wondered how many casualties there are in total. Hopefully, not a lot, but she knew there was quite an amount. At least they won, right? But was it a worthy price to pay? To her, it wasn't, but to many others, it probably was. Thinking that, she couldn't help but frown mentally, though still keeping an emotionless face on the exterior.

"I'm glad to hear that." he said with a smiling nod. There came a silence as the girl sank into a pondering state. He figured this from the almost imperceptable sigh that escaped her lips. How odd it was that he thought of her as a comrade. It seemed as of late that the gunmage had a thing for befriending or falling for those with a painful history. The thought made him shake his head in sorrow. The feeling quickly whiped away as a memory entered his mind. He had wanted to ask the girl for a favor following the battle, but she had been too tired at the time. So now, when they were both awake and for the better part healthy, it would be a good time to ask.
"Hey Yukiko," he began, throwing his legs over the side of the bed, "do you think that maybe, sometime...you could teach me some ice magic?"

Jyo looked around and Saw Joseph and a girl he had not met before. "Well I would guess we won. Is that Jackel dead or did it get away. I'de rather not face it againt." he said in a strained voice. his energies had been strained severly.

"I managed to get the last blow on it.. unless it can come back from being split in two.. then it shouldnt be back."
He coughed slightly sitting up, his arm was covered in bandages, the same as his chest, the gash in his shoulder was going to take some time to heal, the little cuts had clotted over but they wouldnt fade away just like that. He knew Joesph and Jyo, but he did not know the girl. A shake of his head came and he leaned back against the wooden head board, the pillows there holding him up slightly. Though he still felt like shit.
" Of course.. after that I have no clue, I blacked out."
He just laughed a bit and settled his head back as well.
"How'd you guys fair?"

OOC: Last hit yeh. but I did go Goku on that things ass.Man it had to suck being that Jackel. Poor punk got hit how many times.
"Well I managed to hit it with a beam of pure magic. I didn't see what happened to it though. I had drained my energy fully when I did it." he said with a weak chuckle. he knew he would have to watch it from now on. It had gone from effective to leathal now.

"So your the one that blew the fuckers arm off."
He laughed slightly and shook his head looking back over at him. He had to admit, the beam flinging across the arm of that creature.. the fact it had picked up a weapon for an arm was awful clever for an raging monster.. he had to give the jackal that much credit.

OOC: Thougt it was said I blew a hole in his chest.
"Just an arm. Pity but as long as that helped take the bastard down that works for me. I'm going to have to be careful with that spell in the future. I'd hate to get carried away in training with it." He said and then lay his head back on the pillow. He looked up at the ceiling. "It lookes like all of us make a good team." he said.

He just laughed again.
"Remind me to crack you in the head so I can knock you out if we fight. I REALLY dont want that thing targeted at me."
He shook his head and slumped back down in the bed, knowing now he didnt need to worry about the situation.

After all the beasts had been slaughtered Pesmerga became curious of those he fought alongside. To find out where they were going he turned himself into a spider and crawled into the pocket of one of the men. When they arrived at their destination Pesmerga promptly crawled out and made his way under a bed. He seemed to be in an infirmary of some sort. He watched as the other people that came in regained themselves over the following days. He was thinking of ways to help them recover when it hit him.
"A starfish."
He said to himself.
Once as living as a starfish he had two of his arms bitten off but he was able to recover them in quite a speedy amount of time. Becoming tired of his current form he climbed out a window and turned into something more appropriate, a crow. He flew back through the open window and landed on a table where he could see all down the infirmary. He finally exhaled the black smoke that was the only real side effect from his shape-shifting and looked at the people.
He concentrated on them all focusing on their wounds. A thin layer of black magic smoke would cover them for a moment before finding it's way into them and ending in their lungs waiting to be exhaled. The smoke was not harmful in anyway but in the past it alarmed many people he helped. Normally if the change was slight enough they wouldn't even notice but in this case where the entire body is affected they would certainly tell. With the change he made in them they would even be able to regrow any part of the body that had been removed, this ability however, was only active until they were at full strength again. He sat perched on the table watching them quietly, waiting to see what would be happening around here next.
STR and ENG bonuses are now negated. Fast healing for all until fully healed.

((ooc: I think Wolf was the one who chopped off his arm xD))
Yukiko glanced back at Joseph after heraing his question. She thought for a bit, for she was somewhat surprised at his request, even if her face showed nothing of the surprise. It remained calm and emotionless. As she was about to answer, another student spoke out. The same one whom she had notice was awake earlier. She turned to look at him for a brief moment as she remained silent. She didn't need to say anything, now does she? They won. It was a fact now, and she was glad. Soon, another student spoke out. She remained quiet the entire time as they chatted. It did made her wonder about the monster's arm though. She was pretty sure Wolf was the one who cut it off, not the blast, but either way, it didn't concern her.
She returned her attention back towards Midnight just when a thin layer of black smoke surrounded fellow students, including herself. She didn't seem to be afraid though, but then again, no one really knows what she's thinking inside since she's so unwilling to show any obvious hints of emotions. She stared at the smoke as it entered her. She had no idea if it was harmful or not, but either way, what's done is done. What's inhaled is inhaled. She'll just have to see what happens. Surprisingly, after breathing in, she felt nothing for the beginning, but slowly, gradually, felt something. She couldn't describe but it was rather comforting. Her arm didn't seem to hurt as much, so she's not going to take the time to question what's happening right now, though she did glance around to see whre the smoke came from. Her eyes landed on a crow. It must have flew in, she supposed, but she couldn't help but feel there's something about this creature.
Shrugging mentally, she finally got back to Joseph's question. and replied quietly, her tone of voice low and monotoned as usual. "Ice magic?" she started, before continuing. "Sorry, but it's not something I can teach. This ability was passed down to me from generation to generation." she paused. "Simply put, it's genetic." she finished. It was true though. No matter how she teaches someone, if that person does not possess the ability to utilize ice like she can genetically, there's no way for them to just learn spells from the element. Her case is a controlled line. Different from other spellcasters who learned the magic ability. But ... maybe, just maybe, she might be able to teach him some ice spells that can be learned through proper casting and not genetically transmitted to her. Maybe. She can always try.
After a short pause of silence, she spoke out again. "Though ... I might be able to teach you some simple spells that are learnt." she finsihed off quietly, her voice fading off at the end, followed by a slight, barely visible, shrug.
Yukiko had to admit that she was rather surprised she agreed to teach. She had thought she would refuse almost immediately due to her antisocial behaviour in many cases, but through this battle ... she supposed it's time to start letting go of her past. THere are so many things happening in this world, many of which are ungrateful and depressing. Plus, she supposed spending some time teaching someone wouldn't be too much, and it will most likely teach herself something as well.

Joseph smiled at the girl when he heard the response. "Wonderfull! That's all I ask. Just some basic things would be perfect." he assured her with a nod. This would be perfect. If he could learn some of the element he could apply the magic to his bullets. Imagine, ice bullets that when they struck they froze the target in place. It was just the sort of innovation he was looking to bring back to his old school once he graduated. Plus, though he felt a little guilty for thinking it, if things didn't work out with Talbot, Yukiko was pretty cute.

Yukiko said nothing as she just gave a slight nod. There wasn't exactly any need to say anything at the moment really, so she chose to remain silent. She once again looked up at the ceiling as her dull blue orbs seemed more distant than before. She was thinking, like most of the time really, but what she's thinking about right now wasn't someone she would normally think about.
Bringing up the subject of ice magic, it reminded her of her dear friend who has passed away because of her. Of course Yukiko uses ice quite a lot, but she never talked about it, and she would always force the memory out of her head, but right now, for some reason, it would not seem to leave. She remembered when they used to practise together, and Yukiko had taught Koori as best as she can, and Koori had improved a lot the few years thye had been secretly meeting for Yukiko could have not allowed her parents to know.
Sighing mentally, she closed her eyes slightly. Most would think she was just resting, but in truth, she was trying to block out the memory. Of course she would wish to remember Koori, but at the same time, she wished to forget her. It makes Yukiko feel guilty and ashamed, as well as feeling depressed obviously. No matter what she does now, she cannot go back and solve what's been done. It was too late, and now isn't the time to regret anymore. She had promised herself to never cry again, to never show any true emotions, and to never allow herself to make a similar mistake ever again, hence the reason she keeps mostly to herself. She was afraid, afraid of going through all that again.
Soon, she reopened her eyes as she kept her gaze on the ceiling before landing once again on the crow. She found it extremely interesting, for some strange reason, as if she could feel something emitting from the crow. But it can't be magic, can it? It's just a bird! Or is it?
