The first thing Jyo noticed when he woke up. Was that he felt very hungry. Then flashes of what had happend during the beast revolution came flooding back and the young mage sat up with a start. He was gasping and looked around as light flodded in through the window and hurt his eyes. he turned away from the light.
Nobody else was in the room. He found this not to be a surprise when he saw the calander. Jyo had been out of it for roughly three months. A little less.
"No way. now way I was out that long. What happend while I was out. I wonder where Ember is. More importantly. Zaire...." He let the name of his fiancee trail through the air. Jyo knew where she lived if she haden't moved. He looked over and saw clothing by his bed. But he didn't recognize any of it. He also saw a note on the clothes.
Jyo while you have been in your coma you have grown a bit. The doctors say things look hopeful for you so we decided to get you some newer clothing. We think it will suite you well.

Jyo smiled and went to the bathroom near his bed to change. When he looked in the mirror he gasped. his hair was now a dark red instead of blond. And was cut in a different style. After he looked at it for a while he shrugged decidign he actually liked it for the most part.
Two minutes later Jyo came out clad in his new clothes. (Ones in the sig picture) He pushed the shades up on his head and smiled.
Now to go find Zaire He thought as he reached for the door.

Ziare walked through the halls back towards the hospital wing. She had only left to get a new book to read to Jyo as she did every day and night while she sat by his bed praying that he would wake. It was hard day after day to see him like this but she wasn't giving up she knew he could do it. Come out of this coma. She believed in him even if he didn't.
She turned the corner dressed in jeans and a long sleeve purple tshirt. Her eyes downcast a bit as she fought back the tears that recent arguments had inspired as she had spent time out in the academy as per the nurses request. She had changed a bit in the three months that Jyo had been gone.. well more asleep. She had lost weight from lack of care.
She was more concerned about Jyo than herself and unless someone brought her something to eat she just skipped the meals. So the nurses had taken to bringing her at least one meal a day. She got little sleep and it showed by the shadows that now adorned her eyes. Her eyes were normally red .. being bloodshot from lack of sleep.
She pulled open the door to Jyo's room and froze. Her book fell from her hand as she couldn't believe her eyes. There was Jyo. Not only awake but standing and dressed. And she hadn't been here. Her greatest fear was that he would wake alone and then he had. Damn those nurses. All she could do was stare at him for the time being. It was a miracle. Crystalline tears leaked from her eyes as she looked at him.
Jyo.
She didn't even know if he would feel the same as he had before. Three months asleep is a long time. Yet, she had never waivered in her affections for him. Never once. Every day for three months she sat at his bedside. Her eyes flickered to it for a moment as if to make sure that he was no longer there. No, the bed was now empty. Her ice blue eyes went back to Jyo. And she ran. The short distance from her to him she threw her arms around his neck and cried.
Tears streaming down her face all the tears that she had cried before were nothing like the tears of relief. He had lived. He had survived. She could only pray that he remembered her.
"Jyo." she whispered amid her tears.

Jyo's eyes went wide when the door to his room opend before he could reach it. In the doorway was the person he wanted to see the most. He quickly noticed her condition and concern took over the relived expression on his face. He himself was mostly fine. The medical techniques at the Academt kept him in good health. But Zaire seemed to be in worse condition than himself. And the way she said his name. Like she though he wouldn't be back.
"Zaire." He exclaimed as he put his arms around her and pulled her in noticeing even more what strain she must have gone through.
"Zaire what happend to you. It' more than wonderful to see you but it seems you should be the one here not me." he said.

There had been days where she thought she would never feel his arms around her ever again. Those days had been the hardest and now that they were once more wrapped around her like this she cried even harder. His voice. His blessed voice it said her name and she wanted to cry even harder yet thankful for Jyo at the moment it was impossible.
She cried in his arms unable to speak for some time just letting him hold her and letting her hold him. She had watched the changes come over Jyo gradually and she didn't mind any of them. The red hair was no different really than the blonde she loved the man not his hair.
Finally she pulled back and wiped the tears from her cheeks as she looked up into his emerald eyes. She touched his face gently cupping his cheek. She had done it so many times lately yet now she could actually see into his eyes. He was awake and it was wonderful.
"You've been gone for three months. And I've not really left yourside. When you first went down I too went in a coma but they brought me out quickly. And so from then on I stayed by your side. I read to you every day all day. It's where I just was.. getting another book so I could read to you today." she said softly as she stared up into his eyes.
"The nurses force me out for two hours every day and all I did was worry that you would wake up alone and I wouldn't be here. I lived here. I only went to my dorm to change. I slept here in that chair by your bed." she said nodding to the chair that was pushed up close to the left side of his bed. "I took my meal here what I could eat anyway. I couldn't bear to leave you and everyone thought I was nuts but... I was so afraid I would lose you."
Her eyes were already tearing again as she looked up. Her love had come back. He had come back to the world of the living and she wanted to spend every moment with him. Every second she had. She wanted to hear those words the ones only he told her over and over again. Three months she hadn't heard him say those but no.. she wouldn't ask. In due time she would hear them.

A small smile appeared on Jyo's face. Zaire had done everything she could to be with him while he was shut off from the rest of the world. She had put herself through alot just to be with him. Even reading to him. He didn't even remember any of that. But the fact she did so much for him brought him a large degree of happiness.
"Zaire I can't do anything else realy thank thank you for what you did. But I do want something to be clear. Never do this to yourself again. Just because I'm gone doesn't mean you should treat yourself that badly. I would never wish that on you. Not ever." He said. His tone was warm and kind. But veary serious.
He pulled away slightly. Still keeping Zaire in his arms and looked down at her and saw tears then gently wiped them away. I haven't been able to look at you for three months...." he said and trailed off simply staring into Zaire's eys for a long time. He then pulled her in and spoke softly right before kissing her.
"I missed you and I love you." He said.

Ziare looked up into Jyo's eyes as he spoke and she smiled returning the one he had given. Her heart warmed at the sight of it all and she just couldn't believe he was really standing there in front of her after all these months apart they were truly united once more.
"I promise." she said softly as she smiled while he wiped the tears from her eyes.
He looked into her eyes for a long time. She had seen him yet he had not really been there. Every day she watched him and took care of him trying to do her very best to be with him no matter what. And here he was finally ready and finally whole. She wanted to cry again but more than anything she wanted to lay beside him once more. Curled in his arms asleep. She wanted to dance with him and sing with him. She wanted to go somewhere just the two of them. There were so many things she wanted to do.
Suddenly he pulled her in and she heard his words. They made her gasp. For she had longed for so very long to hear those exact words. Never in her life had anything sounded so sweet. She kissed him back and ran her fingertips down his cheek softly as her heart raced and her body tingled from the kiss. The kiss broke and she smiled as brightly as ever.
"I love you too, Jyo Mashima. And I missed you more than you will ever know." she said softly.
She reached into her pocket and took out a red collar. It was the same one he had worn for months before the coma and she handed it to him.
"I kept it for you. So when you woke it would still be here. Those nurses are ruthless for getting rid of things." she said with a small smile.

Jyo slowly grabbed the collar that was once around Ember's neck. Jyo had been wondering why his other half had not responded as soon as he awoke. This made things make sense. Jyo had forgetting that the collar was needed.
"Thank you. I'll have to bring Ember out when we leave the infirmary." He said and pulled her in again.
"Come on. Let's get a bite to eat. I'm hungery and you need the food." He said moving aside keeping one arm around her shoulders. He normally put an arm around her waist. But this semmed more appropiate right now. To fully be arounf her as much as he could.

She smiled up at him. She had kept it safe from the crazy cleaning nurses of doom and she was rewarded by Jyo pulling her close to him again. She just needed to feel him. She was thankful he was awake and she could hear his voice now. Three months, had long since faded the memory of his voice but once again it was renewed.
"Okay." she said softly as he put his arm around her. She leaned into him and they moved to the cafeteria area.
Through the halls she didn't say much. She just basked in the glow of Jyo's return and the happiness she felt being next to him like this. So many things had happened since he had been in a coma but not to her just to the academy around them. Yet, there was time for that later right now she just needed Jyo.
"What are you in the mood for?" she asked looking up at him with a gentle smile on her face as they rounded the corner and moved into the cafeteria.

"I'm hungery enough I could probably enjo dog food. But I think Italian sounds good. i've always loved Italian." He said as he looked around the dining area. It was packed like he always remembered.
"Hmm why don't we both get our own meals and then meet back here. Then we'll head up to my dorm room. I don't feel like being in a crowd." he said

The bustling cafeteria was as it always was an no one else seemed phased that Jyo was back though most of the new students wouldn't know who he was anyway. She walked in with him and looked around. She was hungry having not eaten since the day before at lunch.
She heard Jyo's comment and immediatly she didn't want to leave him but still she didn't want to seem over protective so she nodded.
"All right, I'll meet you back here." she said with a smile.
She reached up and kissed him gently on the cheek before she took her leave of him. She was very reluctant to do so but she knew that they would be alone in his dorm soon and that prospect was wonderful. She went to the soup and salad line and ordered a shredded chicken soup and a roll. Placing the soup in one of those snazzy styrophome containers she closed the lid on it and nodded to the lunch lady in thanks and returned to the spot where she was to meet Jyo once more.

Jyo went over to grab his food. Some spaghetti and also a side of garlic bread with sauce to dip it in. He made his way back to the spot and found Zaire had gotten there first. He smiled and put an arm around her again.
"Alright lets go somewhere more quiet." he said and they started heading up to his dorm.
"So what have I missed besides you while I was out o comission. I would like to know whats been going on." he said as they walked.

He returned and his arm found it's way around her again. She leaned against him gently as they made their way to his dorm. He asked about what he missed and she sighed.
"Well, Tal and Midnight are gone. I'm not sure where but Tal turned evil some kind of curse in her genes. And she left. I assume to find a cure perhaps but I'm unsure." she said softly. "The beast revolution you fell in, .."
She paused for a moment as she bit her lip trying to fight back certain emotions that were coming to the surface.
"We won and the dragon died. But I went into shock when you were downed and so I really didn't fight. After that I spent most my time in the hospital as you know. We have a lot of new teachers now. Some are more rash than the ones you are used to so you'll be shocked a bit when you begin taking classes. Also, they've come up with shared dorms now. Where couples can share dorms instead of having to live apart. New students have been arriving daily. So we have a lot of people to meet and to get to know. So many different styles of magic some I never even dreamed could exist." she explained.
They made it up the stairs and were now down the hallway where Jyo's dorm was. Ziare fell silent once more. She stopped just outside Jyo's door and looked up into his eyes.
"I .. missed you so badly." she whispered. "So very hard.. to see you like that.. day after day."
She wiped her eyes again and put a smile on her face for him.
"Sorry, let's go inside." she said.

Jyo listened to what happend with a degree of sadness. Talbot was a good friend. And even though he didn't know Midnight very well. he knew he was a decent guy. Jyo knew he would miss them.
He looked back down at Zaire as she told him how hard it was to see him simpl not wake up for so long. he pulled her closer.
"Well I'm here now right? So at least for us things should start getting better." He said trying to lift her mood as he opened the door and they walked inside.
After closeing and locking the door so they wouldn't be disturbed Jyo put the collar around his upper arm again. He closed his eyes and with the normal flashes of fire Ember appeared.
"Jyo. Zaire. it is good o see you after all this time." Ember said simply. Not surpriseing due to his personality.

Ziare stepped into the room that she had been in so many times. She sent out a fire bolt to the fire place and the logs that were in there began crackling. Nice to have a little atmosphere. She looked over at Jyo and saw him summon forth Ember.
"Ember!" she exclaimed.
She sat her soup and her spoon down on the small table in Jyo's room and wrapped her arms around Ember's neck. She hugged him for quite some time before she let go.
"I don't know if you could hear me. But I talked to you sometimes when I was lonely." she whispered in his ear.
She stood up and wiped some stray tears off her face. She sat down at the table and looked up at Jyo with a gentle smile. She didn't say anything she just kinda stared at him and Ember. Together again at last.

Not surprisingly. Ember didn't say anything. He looked at Zaire then gave an understanding nod. Not truly answering weather or ot he head her. But acknowladging how she fet. Which was about as much as could be expected from him.
Jyo joined Zaire at the table and got their fod set out.
"It's been a bit too long since we've been able to do this hasen't it?" He said
