And crash.
Igneus pounded a hole in the floor of the recovery wing once again with his three plus tons of mass. "Sometimes I pull it off, sometimes I don't." Igneus projected aloud before any one had the chance to say any thing. True though it was, six thousand four hundred pounds, give or take, smashing into floor was still enough to knock some of the tiles out of the ceiling in the room a floor down. Not to mention enough to make every bed, desk, and piece of medical equipment jump a good inch into the air. Consequently, people got a little pissed when it happened at random intervals. At least he hadn't landed on any body...yet.
Tristan hopped off tiredly, lugging a couple of hundred pounds of what he could only guess was steel on his shoulder. That four hundred plus pounds, while not as bad, still shook some things about. Before trudging off toward a bed, he stumbled slightly, mainly from his condition preventing him from holding up that much weight with any degree of ease. Even with his near super human strength, it was a pain in the ass in this condition. He'd need to find a way to get a constitution raising ability to match the rest that he already had.
Problem was, the inner energy, Chakra as he chose to call it, was always flowing through the body. Now, it was easy to push it into the muscles and tendons to increase strength and speed, even to push it into the eyes and mind to raise foresight, but how do you put it into the flesh, not necessarily the muscle, but the flesh, in such a way that your physical endurance and durability increased. That, was truly a magical mystery as far as Tristan was concerned.
In any case, Tristan made his way over to one of the beds where he flopped down Tas' metalic body. "You really have to work on making sure that you don't land like that, even if you use air to hover for a second then lower your self. And you, what was with that power spike before, who the hell were you killing this time...? And what the hell is that?" Mey said, circumnavigating Igneus' body and tail. She, standing at only around five eight, was a deal shorter than Igneus' back, or she would have seen Tristan lugging the hunk of metal over there.
"Same person it's been the past two days." Tristan said, plopping himself in the ajdacent bed after pulling off his sword in its harness. "That Tas girl? What the hell did you do to her? Encase her in steel?" Mey demanded, bewildered. "No...Thats her...The armor. That's how she was so bad off that first day, this is what I was kicking the shit out of." Mey was taken aback in that typical anime fashion and sort of stuttered into her next statement. "Well, I...don't really...know what I can do- Is she even alive?" To which Tristan shrugged.
Then after examining the hunk of metal, "Well, I suppose she is...but...There'd be nothing I know how to do until she changes back...." Tristan again shrugged, he didn't know what to do either, aside from wait. He had no idea how to get her out of this form, or how she even pulled it off. Growing wings, fangs, and an inch on your height was one thing...becoming metal was another entirely.

Tas just lies there for a while making no motion or sound. Just waiting for her to revive was a coutesy she'd have been very suprised to receive from Tristan, given his earlier antics, and unless she was told how long she'd been out she wouldn't actually think of it.
About eight minutes after their arrival a faint orange glow appears, quickly growing to become her eye again as she struggles back to conciousness. It flickers a few times and then then darts to the edge of its black socket... her version of looking from the corner of her eye at Tristan and Mey. "... Hi Mey. Sorry about dropping in again." is her muted greeting. "He did a number on me again, i'm afraid. Though he did fix it... i think." she adds by way of explanation, sounding a little uncertain.
That last spell of his... it'd been more than mere metal-alchemy, she was positive of that. She could feel parts of her she'd lost, a kind of tingling sensation. It was a little unnerving, though she couldn't deny her armour form seemed to be intact.

Tristan's head bobbed up and he rather smoothly regained consciousness. After a couple of minutes, he'd said fuck it and folded his arms to take a nap. What he forgot, though, was that his hand had just stopped bleeding inside his gauntlet, so his entire right hand was covered in blood, though it was on the inside of the armament so you wouldn't know it. "Yeah, I fixed it as best I could...Took the rest of my energy though. I combined a life sewing circle with a metal reconstruction circle. Basically it would other wise be used to create a golem." He began to explain, his voice surprisingly showing no signs of his slumber as he sat on the bed with Igneus.
"The sewing life circle I modified was generally used to make chimeras, though no alchemist's really try that any more. Combining it with the metal reconstruction circle made for a circle that placed life onto a metal being, or visa versa in this case." Sometimes it was fun being smart. "And that metal reconstruction circle is what prevented part of your body from being torn apart, you know." Tristan shook his head. "I slit my hand on Shireiutz and dropped a good bit of blood in the circle. I didn't have enough energy to do the transmutation with out a sacrifice."
That wrought a temporary look of shock from the arch-mage before she pounded Tristan in the arm. "That could have killed you, you dumbass!" Igneus chuckled slightly to himself, it was noticable if you were looking at him, but other wise it didn't look like much. "But it didn't." If Tas was confused at that point, Tristan would explain, "Using my blood offered my body parts as sacrifice for the Transmutation. I knew just how much energy I had left, and knew how much blood I needed, so I used more than enough to ensure that the Transmutation didn't claim any thing...extra." End of that explanation. Til there were questions any way.

"Say what?" Tas exclaims with great suprise. Her body lifts a little way above the bed and then quickly changes position until it is floating normally in front of Tristan, the eye glaring at him. "You could have died by patching me, and then try to shrug it off? And after the way you treated me this morning? Damn Tristan, you can be a real bastard sometimes!" There is a smile in her voice, almost taking the sting out of that last bit... as if she's not sure what to make of him anymore.
"Sounds like you took a drastic step with the magic though, risking body parts... that's more than you implied at the time. Why'd you... hmm..." she breaks off and blinks a few times, as if struck by a thought. "I'm a golem like this?" she quietly asks herself, a little sadly. Though in truth she'd never decided what the form was, finding an existing definition was off-putting.

"Yeah well," He grins to the bastard comment. Not quite remembering if he told her the screwing around was wholly and fully intentional or not, he didn't bother saying any thing more on that topic. Then to answer the questions, "Technically, you could be called a golem, which is life attached to an otherwise lifeless form. However, since your a human who merely turns her body into that of a Golems state, your not. Granted it might depend on how the hell you transform, which I have no idea, but more than likely you wouldn't be considered a Golem unless someone only saw that form." A bit winded, but what ever.
"As to why," A pause, "I inflicted the damage didn't I? Damage that would have other wise killed you?" He let her think about that for a second, what with the serious tone, then in a nonchalont voice, "But then again, I know what I'm doing so you don't have to worry your pretty little head about what I do." The smugness of that statement was sure to piss her off. And yes, he was doing it on purpose...again.
He'd sure become one strange mofo in his more than a year on Babylos. But it was to be expected...being in a school with constant contact to other people would have that effect. After all, Tristan had never been cold with Igneus, and was like this all the time with him behind closed doors...or minds at least.

"Little bugger." she sighs, angry but not explosive this time. For a moment Tas hesitates, apparrantly staring at his face.
"Tch... hell with it. Here, look..." she begins irritably, and backs away slightly. A faint glow appears where she had been floating in the air, which is a moment later replaced by a thin halo of blueish light. "This form is a part of the magic style i use. Nearly anyone who uses the style develops a form, and for the same reason too." Her gaze flicks away from him and to the glowing circle. It shimmers and begins to sprout, slowly forming a circular pattern. "It allows access to stronger spells. In the natural form, the style looses efficiency as spells grow stronger. The stronger the spell, the more energy it wastes... making powerful casting impractical. So a single alternate form is created, from the caster's self." Tas hesitates, then reluctantly chuckles. "It shows who's dedicated to the style really. Anyone who isn't doesn't get this other form. But even then, sometimes what is given is useless. Depends on the person..."
As she'd been speaking the halo had become a patterned circle, with six gaps in it. "This is the circlet of the spell, or my version anyway. This pattern is different for each caster, as their own magic is unique to them. If that makes sense." This would have been a good moment to shrug, if she could. "The spell draws from six runes... the three permenant ones are 'focus', 'change' and 'self', or in other words, 'use my power to change myself'. Roughly, anyway." The three runes had appeared in the arrangement as she'd named them, now taking up three of the six gaps. "Now this is why the forms can differ so wildly... the other three runes used are all 'essense' runes (Three identical runes appear), which draw on who the caster is. When the spell first casts, these absorb three strong facets of the caster and each becomes a different rune, and so give a different form." The three new runes all flickered, changing into individal ones. If Tristan had been paying attention when Tas had shifted before, he'd recognise this as her own pattern... in the few moments before it all disappears.
"And there you go." Tas concludes, looking at the other two. "That's the main reason i change form, and i've explained one spell like you have. We're even in that regard, 'kay?"

Simply listening, Tristan watches. Sure it was a nice explanation as to the process, but how she's physically going from flesh to metal is what he wanted to know...well, didn't know at least, he didn't too much care either way, he didn't use runes, just Transmutation Circles, even then he hardly used alchemy. Allbeit it was becoming more frequent, but if you counted elementalism against his alchemy, you'd say he hardly used it too.
"That still doesn't explain how your physically turning from a human into a hunk of metal. The process of what your doing is simple enough, but how your doing it is something entirely different. This is why I don't use that sort of magic...you can't explain what's actually happening. Alchemy is simple, your breaking down molecules to get something els, but to be turning into another substance completely and even be adding more of it, as your alot bigger in this form, not to mention alot heavier, is seemingly impossible to explain, and exactly what I don't understand." Long winded? Just a bit.
"Damn...Now I don't even know what your talking about...." Mey commented, rubbing her gold covered head. "I'm surprised he knows what he's talking about half the time..." Igneus pipped in, barely understanding what Tristan was talking about himself, he hadn't exactly said it slowly. If not for the mental link, the dragon wouldn't have understood it at all.
After hitting Igneus, "In any case, you should change back...see if theres still any damage while your here. Just because I fully reattached the metal parts doesn't mean I either didn't accidentally change something, or that the flawlessness of this form wasn't transferred over to human form. Theres also the possibility that I improved your body in and of itsself but that would fall under the first bit."

Tas had hummed in accord to what Mey and Igneus said, though she had actually followed what he was blabbering about fairly well. "I can't give you the step-by-step run of what happens." she admits freely without a hint of regret. "Because my mass obviously changes a great deal. Personally i think it's part conceptual, part atomic, really... the other three runes, they, uh..." she pauses, as the runes in question describe her and are therefore personal, then goes on. "They're 'float', 'durable' and 'metal', and no, don't bother asking me why i got those. I don't know. It loosely coveres what i am though... a floating piece of durable metal. Which is as far as i care to look into it."
With that the rune circlet she'd demonstrated appear again, though in its usual position, and the spell changes her back to her human form. As soon as it is complete though her left leg collapses and she lurches against the bed she'd been on earlier. "Oops!" she blurts, looking suprised. "It feels like it's run a few marathons... back to back. Ow." Tas pulls herself up slightly with her right arm so that she's sitting on the bed, rather than leaning against it, and then thoughtfully lifts her left hand. It starts shaking uncontrollably so she puts it down again. "Well, that's wierd... everything you fixed feels dead tired. Uninjured but... hmm. Strange." she shrugs, a thoughtful look in her eye. Then she flicks a glance at Mey, since she's the healer of their little gathering, wondering what her opinion might be.

Tristan thought for a moment as to the reason her reattached limbs were drained. "Well..." He begins, "I did hack them off, entirely. So they were lifeless right?" In his head he can see the explanation fairly clearly, but can't voice it. "So it might be like they were born again, with no energy. If they were reattached it would be like they're entirely new, only with the same size and shape as before, but their caloric storage is empty since they hadn't experienced energy by human accounts." Mey offers, piecing together Tristan's explanation with a little more clarity.
"And so your limbs don't have any energy since they're basically brand new." Then another thing dawned on him. "During the transmutation, I didn't reattach your parts. They were not only too mangled, but the transmutation circle I used didn't have the proper metal elements for that type of reconstruction, it was more molding." His memory finished coming back of the moments during the transmutation, "When I performed the alchemy, your parts didn't fly up into place, they flew into the existing metal, and regrew onto the torn of places." Igneus couldn't not have his turn, "So yeah, the alchemy basically regenerated you...not rebuilt you." Heh, explanation in surround sound.
The whole thing ran through all three of their minds and almost simultaneously, they nodded, as if satisfied with their explanation in that it was as accurate as possible.

Tas looks a little nonplussed. "Okay, now i'm feeling like the dumb one here." she grumbles. "You guys all showed me up... again." She waves one hand in surrender and grins, showing she doesn't really mind that much. As she'd said, the feeling was wierd... but if it was just a lack of reserves she should be ok.
"Now..." she goes on, changing the subject and giving Tristan a mock scowl. "... i'm assuming the next session will be at the same time tomorrow. But if i am late please don't be so drastic about it. I don't want a repeat of this until i'm more able to withstand such punishment, okay?" It sounded like she was referring to the fight, though Tristan and Igneus were likely to realise she really meant the entire morning so far.

Tristan grinned, though it was semi blank since his mind was still going over the process. Alchemy was three basic steps: Break a material down, reorganize the particles, and reassemble them into something new. As long as there was the basic principle of equivalent exchange, every thing made sense. Sure it still took mana, but you couldn't exactly turn a paper clip into a sword. But then there was Tas' transformation...it was seemingly impossible...even for magic. Sure Igneus had his forms, but that was just shrinking and growing in proportion. Well, maybe he'd under stand it when he was higher ranked.
"Maybe I'll just have Igneus teleport into your dorm next time." Slight chuckle with a more present look in his eyes, like he was actually there and not on mars or something. There was a thought...Magic to create an atmosphere bubble to be able to travel through space. That was beyond Tristan's elementalism, but perhaps his alchemy could make something. In any case, the Crusnik straightened up and grabbed his sword. "See you tomorrow I guess. Actually, I did hear something about communicators being used in missions, though I haven't been on one in a while.
"I also heard they were being used for general purposes by some of the students too. Maybe soon enough I wont have to come get you." He finished as he walked out, Shireiutz in hand instead of on his back. Igneus took off out the door behind his partner, calling out a good-bye.

"I really hate him sometimes." she mutters to Mey in a confidential tone as Tristan leaves. "Ah well. Since i'm not in a bad way i think i'd better go too, and stop tying you up. I'll see you again tomorrow, probably." As she'd talked the blue ring of her Shadow spell appeared around her... and it now activates, letting her get off the bed and float off without worrying about her weak leg. Tas waves a hand in friendly farewell as she leaves the wing. It was going to be a long day.
