Jyo leaned back in one of the very comfortable chairs in the library of the Academy. He was reading a book on acient runestones of spellcasting. An interesting subject. Powerful mages enchanting stones with their powers to last until the end of time as it may be known.
He at first simply flipped through the book getting a general idea on the subject. then he actually went into detail on it. He read about some of the effects runestones could have and they were interesting indeed. They could be crafted into jewlery if they were a smaller variety of runestone. He found that fasinating that it could lend the wearer powers beyond what they themselves could manage.
The runestones were apparently kept in gaurded areas. All known runestones at least. Which were plenty. They would only be used in times of dire need it seemed. but only then. Some runestones were as large as boulders and held much power in them. Sometime's spellcaster would transfere their essence into one and they could be called upon for advice in times of need.
Wow. I'm never going to learn everything out there. Not for lack of confidance or trying. there is just so much. And everytime I learn something new I go back to the beginning and learn everything I knew all over again. He thought putting the book down and resting his eyes a moment.

Kurse walked through the library reading a book titled Ancient Card Mages and their Spells. He stopped for a moment and sat next to Jyo. Kurse pulled out a card and examined the book then drew a small square with three sixes in it. This was supposed to summon the Devils henchman, Santeran. nothing happned when he threw it down, only a mere satanic laugh and that's it. Kurse mumbled some word then picked up the card, waved his hand across it and it went blank.

Jyo looked over seeing what caster was trying to do. "Those spells and so forth won;t work in here. there are wards all over this library. You'll have to check the book out of here and take it somewhere like the training grounds or something similar." he said and then got up to put his book away.
"If I may be so bold. Why are you summoning such a thing? Any major plans or do you just want to see if you can. Because summoning such entities can make for some serious problems." he said.

Kurse looked up. "I was merely seeing if I could pull it off. I probobly couldn't work it because Forande the Hellspawn's spells are much to complex for me, an apprentice." Kurse replied as he stood up. He examined Jyo. "And what sort of magic might you study?" he asked with his eyebrow arched.

Jyo grinned. "I MIGHT practice the art of throwing glitterdust around." He said giving a wink to show it was clear he was joking. "But I actuaaly lean towards elemental spellcasting with fire and lightning. I have some other forms of magic but they are not ones I focus on nearly as much." he said with a shrug.

Sitting not five feet away, Lienn couldn't help but overhear part of the boys' conversation. She was sitting on the floor with her back resting against the foot of an armchair, her white peasant skirt pooled in a part-circle about her. Ash colored eyes glanced up from her book which lay open in her lap, silently quirking an eyebrow as one of them mentioned glitter dust, an odd topic of discussion to be sure. She wasn't eavesdropping, she was just observant and naturally curious. 'Elemental spell casting?' She thought to herself. Now that was interesting, seeing's that her area of study didn't involve spells, or anything like that.
She turned back to her book in the hopes of not appearing like some weird staring person, but her book no longer caught her interest as it had before.
