Rei has three forms. There's himself, obviously, and there's Sync, and Yuan. Sync is the second form that appears through Rei's body. Sync is a lesser demon, but doesn't realize he's a demon at all. He appears through Rei as he's the only one who matches the element of his power. Metal is controlled by Sync, and through him, Rei's powers become extremely upgraded. Instead of only creating gauntlets over his arms, Sync gives him an extra set of moves, some of them upgrades of Rei's moves, other's are new moves. He can upgrade the strength of Rei's masamune, or create an entirely new weapon. He can also create walls, boulders, or ever take them apart easily.
Yuan is basically an Elder demon that is still in slumber inside of Rei, the unawakened potential within the cacoon. Once Yuan is awakened, Rei will be more powerful than ever before. He'd be fast enough to stop the rain from hitting him when he runs, swift enoughto dodge an attack that starts right in front of his face.
