Before we got into the details and info of the Factions and Shadow Governments controlling this world, it is important that we take a moment to examine the Magical World's Nations and Borders...
The Arcane Academy controls a small floating Island, roughly the size of four times New York City. However, it's influence is the most far spread, touching upon all governments in the world. Even in nations where other Shadow Groups have sway, the Academy is still a heavy player, making it a power house to politics of the World.
To North America, D-13 maintains a strict jurisdiction over the U.S.A and all of her territories, such as Puerto Rico, as well as other areas, such as Panama. Usually, mages are allowed to come and go within the U.S... But any other shadow group trying to influence America will face the juggernaut of D-13. Not only that, but D-13 has considerable influence in other North American Countries, such as Mexico or Canada. In total, while the power base is within the U.S., D-13's influence has spread to as far as the tips of Alaska to the edges of Panama.
South America remains untouched. The mages there do not easily bow down to foreign powers, and as such it has been difficult for any foreign shadow government to put influence there. However, the only successful groups to date to put power holds (Even if these power holds are still considerably weak) are D-13 and Eternity. D-13's presence in Latin America has began to trickle in to South America. While Columbia, in all of it's violent strife, remains the Hardest to control, D-13 has done a good job of maintaining power over Venezuela and Ecuador. However, many mages and government officials in both these nations resent D-13, and all out war could erupt. Eternity only has a passing stake in Brazil, where it's more interested in Ancient secrets then politics. The mages here, though, have begun to openly defy Eternity.... As South American Mages take to Brazil to dispel the foreign tomb raiders and ruins pillagers.
Europe, for the most part, is pretty much carved out. The United Kingdom and North France are the Domains of The Rosicrucian Alliance. To the East lies Eternity, sweeping up Germany from Berlin all the way to Moscow. However, Russia has been rather defiant to Eternity in the recent years. Due to all the strife in Brazil, Russian Mages have began to stop heeding Eternity's teachings. It has been rumored that an order of Russian mages known as Romanov are plotting to liberate Russia from Eternity. Spain, Italy, and other Mediterranean touching Nations along East Europe are territories of The Order.... And if mages set a single foot there, the Order will be hasty to cut them down. In Land East Europe, however, remains the Territory of the Blood Society. It's influence spreads from Romania to as far as some German states to Russia. As such, the tension mounting between Eternity and The Blood Society in their land grabs is steadily rising.... And is something to be looking out for.
Africa is extremely wild, and the Dark Continent does not easily let mages into her domain. For the most part, Beast has supremacy of Africa, due in part to the low population of mages in Africa. Only with the Beast Revolution did Beast has splintered off into fractious units, all fighting in spheres of their own influence. While many foreign powers could move in to set up control, the various Beast Factions might rally together against a foreign invader than remain separate... Meaning for now, Africa is untouched.
Asia remains filled with gaps in power.... The Monastery to the Oriental East maintains a firm hold over China, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and Mongolia. The other south eastern nations, as well as Southern Isle Nations, are seperate entities with magical anarchy about them. For the most part, mages in these territories all respond to Monastery influence, but only in times of need and crisis. Otherwise, the Monastery rarely gets involved here. India and her surrounding Nations are all in the same state as the Southern Asia Isles, yet recently a group of Kshatriyas have appeared, claiming that they, in the past, fought against magic and will do the same now. . However, they remain fiercely independent, disallowing foreign influence from West or even East. The Middle east is the power house of the Order. Jerusalem is the Head Quarters of The Order, below the Holy City lies the near endless base of The Order. Beyond it, the Muslim Nations surrounding Jerusalem remain hard to influence in the Magical World, and are left to their own devices. Rumors here and there indicate, though, that there is an order of assassins known as the Hassashims, who deliver righteous fury upon those who profane Allah's world with dark magic. Others whisper of an order of mystics descended from Sufi monks who learn magic to gain greater understanding of the nature of God. The Order, however, remains adamant in having Jerusalem as a base. However, the Vatican Church also holds another base, equal in status to the Jerusalem base. Meaning if worst comes to worst, the Order could always retreat back to the Vatican.
Australia is in the same state of the Southern Asian Isle Nations, except not even the Monastery has significant influence here. A ghost land for all the Magical Organizations, Australia has remained the Magical No-man's land..... As very few mages reside in this territory. While International Groups would like to put a stake here, the Independence of the wizards living here makes it so that putting up influence here wouldn't be worth the losses that a invasion would bring. As such, Australia enjoys a certain... free spirit to it... At least before some Shadow Government decides to build up forces and declare war on the independent mages on the continent.
And last, Antarctica is the domain of the Academy. While at first useless in terms of politics and magical secrets, the Academy decided to put up some small earth bases here and there to allow easier teleportation from the Academy to Earth and give places for young mages to try out spells without hurting anyone. However, when magical ruins were discovered across the Tundra, the Academy bolstered these bases, making them outposts to which the Academy could study these ruins. As of yet, no foreign power has yet to influence Antarctica as the Academy does.
And in the end, that is the World... Behind the veil of human government, lies the power of magical entities, all of which have spheres of influence surpassing nations.
