That's just the way the language works.
And hell, they probably wonder why we say thngs like "Dude".

The term -senpai is used for older classmates.
-kun is used for addressing males most often, but it can sometimes be used for females. -chan is used towards females, but it can also be used for animals, lovers, and childhood friends.
It's a lot like how -sensei means teacher, and -sama is used for especially revered people.

lol Ok thats good to know but now I have another question Those of you who watch Naruto know Saskue (I think I spelled that wrong) uses Chidori as an attack or justu or whatever. (think I spelled that wrong too) Well In Persona 3 there is a girl named Chidori could someone tell me what that means thanks (and thank you Chephros for the previous information.)

First take a language course. Japanese is took hard without it. If you translate everything word for word, you'll end up not saying anything at all.
